So I came here for lunch. You are greeted at the hostess stand as soon as you walk in. They will ask where you would like to sit if it's not busy. As soon as you sit, they bring free black bean soup. I love it I am sucker for beans so this was a great starter flavor was good just simple and not to salty. Next, I ordered a tamarindo margarita, which was good. It's a bit sweet, but I still enjoyed it. So for lunch, I had the chicken tinga quesadilla. It was a very nice portion. I have to say I am stuffed. The tinga was good. I enjoyed the flavors; they were very tender, lovely, and cheesy, which I liked. It does come with guac, but no cream. Overall, I had a wonderful lunch experience here. read more

My bf and I came on a Sunday at around noon and it was decently busy. The parking lot was full, so we parked a little down the street. It wasn't a far or bad walk at all. Someone greeted us immediately and sat us down at a booth. We were each given a free small bowl of delicious, soupy black beans, right after being seated. Then we ordered horchata, and it was great. You also get one free refill on the aguas frescas, which made it a great value. BISTEC CON QUESO TACOS ON FLOUR: Delicious! Well-seasoned, moist, not dry at all! They're a little small, but not too small that it was unsatisfying. And they gave a good amount of meat. They also give you the option of flour or corn tortillas for the tacos, which I really appreciated. MENUDO: Great flavor! It had lots of tripe, with large pieces too! Such a great value for the price. It was a huge portion! I barely made a dent. It felt like it was family-sized lol truly the perfect bowl of menudo! Literally everything we had here was delicious! The infamous black beans are to Die for!! I had the brisket flautas which were not quite as expected as they were a bit dry for me which made them go down kind of rough. I expected them to be more juicy but they did have a great crunch! The drinks are phenomenal as well. Had margaritas and they made them worth it! Margaritas were pricey but again worth it. The service was incredible. The lettuce, cheese and sour cream were so fresh. It was very affordable but it just lacks a bit of flavor. For the sopes I don't know if they add any salt to the masa. The beans are also a little plain. I'm not big on al pastor but I tried it, not for me. It had a heavy pork flavor. The flautas were good but the brisket was a tad bit tough. It was years ago I visited this location and did not much care for it then. Now, it is convenient while I get my oil changed. The staff is very nice and attentive. The place is clean shortly after any sort of lunch rush they may have experienced. I ordered the Cubana Torta and very much appreciated the waitress confirming the order was right before she handed me the plate. (Not a fan of jalapeños and the chef had them on the plate before the waitress caught it.) This goes a long way for me because it shows she cares. read more

I've always seen this spot in passing and finally got to try it. I was seated immediately upon entering and was brought a cup of black beans and tray of toppings. My waiter was attentive and customer service was good. I decided to order the guacamole + chips and the 4 tacos (chicken + beef). I really enjoyed the tacos and being able to control what I placed on top. The sauces provided were good as you had mild and spicy version. My only complaint is that the guacamole could've had more to it. It was just mashed avocados. I had to add extra salt for flavoring. Yes! I found this place a few months ago and now I eat there often. I place is convenient and just the right size - not too big, not too small. The menu looks small and limited at first but once your order arrives - it's more than enough food. The black beans you get at the beginning of your meal are delicious! Good place for tacos! Service was very friendly and fast. I ordered the Parrillada which was a combo of 4 tacos, cheese quesadilla, cebollitas, and some guacamole. I also ordered an appetizer of cebollitas. They also bring out a caddy of 2 salsas, onions, cilantro, and lime. Perfect! The salsa verde was my favorite! The tacos were all good (steak, chicken, pork chop, and Al pastor). The steak and Al pastor were my favorites. The cheese quesadilla (bite size) was really good also! I didn't really like the cebollitas appetizer. They were marinated in what tasted like Braggs Amino Acid (like soy sauce) that I didn't care for. Overall a great meal! Stopped by El Tiz El Tizoncito on Lemmon and it felt like a genuine taco spot. I loved that they start you off with warm black bean soup and a tray of toppings--little touches like that go a long way. The gringa and chicken tacos were solid, and I could tweak them exactly how I liked with the sauces. Only wish the guac had more flavor. I'm kind of pissed off. I saw a picture of choriqueso that somebody posted with melted cheese over queso. I ordered the same thing and got tacos with ground beef and cheese melted over the top. What the hell??? If you no longer make it like the other way you could have let me know. I wasted $11 dollars plus tips because I still tip on to go orders. I was craving breakfast tacos near Love Field and I'm so glad we came in here. Our server, Jovanny, was top tier. The food was ready quickly and well seasoned. Okie Bill for breakfast for 2 came to about $35. My only negative point is the difficulty with the menu if you're vegetarian. I got breakfast tacos with papas and the botana with hongos/mushrooms. The black bean soup does have meat in it so heads up to vegetarians and vegans. Not only do they have delicious, cheap, authentic Mexican food (the chilaquiles and pastor/bistec tacos con queso are my favorite), but the service is top level. Every time we visit, we are welcomed and the food comes out QUICK!! It's sort of a hole-in-the-wall location, but I was very pleasantly surprised with the interior (I'm a little judgy on restaurant interiors, can't help myself) - spacious, not drab, comfortable. I was then provided with the condiments and black beans in the photo. What, no chips!? Given that I will consume every chip on the table, I was really happy with the black beans...way healthier!! Not only excellent menudo, the customer service is top notch also! I called to make sure they had menudo left (it sells out quickly on Sundays--the only day it's sold). I was told that there was 1 order left, so I said I would be there to pick up in 5 minutes. Upon arrival, I was told that it was sold out, and I shared my story about the phone call. They apologized and reiterated that they were sold out. I sat in my car and searched for another place that sold Menudo nearby when I heard a knock on my window. It was the manager who came out and said "I'm sorry it was our fault and I will give you what we have remaining (which was about a bowl), and I will also give you a gift card for a future visit."He came back out with the Menudo and a gift card a few minutes later! I tipped him and drove off happy. The Menudo was delicious, and I am very pleased that the manager handled this with kindness and great service. Chips were stale, flautas were hard, cold and stale. They charge for chips, and salsa was sauce, not salsa. Nachos mini shells with toppings on each. No fountain drinks. Came here with a friend, and immediately loved the service. Everybody was friendly and attentive. I like the little hot bean soup they give you before your meal. They also put out onions, salsas, etc so you can add your own. My friend ordered a horchata and they actually gave her *another* free one to take with her! It was so thoughtful. Unfortunately the food left much to be desired. I got a flauta with brisket and was disappointed. The brisket was dry. Everything within the flauta itself was unremarkable. I would not recommend getting again. I had to add a lot of toppings to make it even a little bit edible. Loved the service and the price! However the food itself was disappointing. read more
