I was in there the other day and ordered a pizza. I didnt hear it get called, so after a while i went up and asked if it was ready. The LITTLE GUY WITH THE MOUSTACHE immediately gave me an attitude saying, "You didn't hear me calling it?" So, i told him, "No i didn't ". And he told me he had to heat it up and he just had the angriest looking face as if I inconvenienced him so much with having to reheat my pizza. It just ruined my lunch break with how negative he was with me over me not hearing him. There used to be another guy who worked there that would wear bandanas and he called out my pizza and the same scenario happened and when i went up to ask for my pizza he CALMY and RESPECTFULLY told me that I would have to wait for my pizza again. So im not sure what the LITTLE GUY WITH THE MUSTACHE deal was with me but it was not a good experience. read more

Ummmm please stop being so delicious... k? I'm kind of sickened by how good this was. I had a viewing party at a friends place in Ridgewood. I ordered 4 large specialty pies... that were CRAZYYYYYY GOOD! I was not expecting this, I expected something mediocre... but the pies were DIVINE! I ordered online days in advance and had my friend pick them up at the time and they were ready exactly at that time. I could not stop eating slice after slice. Worth the price, which is shocking in this day and age, but I'm saying it! Do yourself a favor and order square pie. You'll thank me later. Keep doing a great job! This weekend my partner and I ordered the BOGO pepperoni square slices and chicken parm hot plate from here. The box and food came hot, but there was a lot of grease which we had to sop up. Luckily, they give you bread rolls and butter! We actually used those to sop up the yummy red sauce in the chicken parm dishes. I really appreciated how much sauce they give, as well as how much cheese is on the chicken! The pizza was pretty good too, although I'd like to try the spinach and artichoke next time. The place recently went through renovations, and it really shows--everything felt modern, clean, and welcoming. The natural lighting through the large glass windows gave the space a bright, airy feel, and there was plenty of seating available. Our pizzas came out quickly and were absolutely delicious--crispy, fresh, and full of flavor. The customer service was also spot-on: friendly, attentive, and efficient. Our friends live just around the corner and told us this is their go-to spot, and now I see why! We decided to enjoy the nice weather yesterday and take a ride to Ridgewood. We started out at Joe and John's Pizza on Myrtle. The place was hopping, a constant flow of people with a lovely welcoming staff. The counter was loaded with a wide variety of pizzas. We opted for 2 square slices, cacio e pepe and caramelized onion with mushrooms plus a regular slice. The cacio e pepe was a surprising delight, unique and delicious. The onion and mushroom was excellent and the regular slice was nice and thin with a great fresh flavor. I was super impressed with the pizza it was all excellent without being overly salty. They are even in the process of expanding into next store to open more of a sit down cafe. I can't t wait to go back and try more items. read more

Wanted so badly to like this place but the cheese slice is so bland and tasted old when it was picked up not delivered.

First off, the upside down Sicilian is crazy satisfying for multiple reasons. Recommending that off the bat. - Buttery crust - Crispy bite that still simultaneously the right amount of doughy bite - Very savory red sauce - incredibly tangy cheese sleeping right under said red sauce. The Margherita slice was standard and up there with the best I've had. It's the known margherita slice, mastered and unpretentious. Speaking of unpretentious, the staff were welcoming and not snooty about the pizza they are serving. Which is nice. Smiles and cordiality here. Store itself is cozy and even a little chic without feeling like it is trying too hard to be cool. This is of course, a long established neighborhood pizzeria with a well done facelift. Did a drive-by on Saturday after dreaming of eating pizza the night before. Everything looked so delicious but I settled on three slices, two Sicilian and one regular. I asked to have all sliced in half so I could share them with my bestie. The first slice was a Sicilian mushroom and onion slice. The flavors were good, but sort of muted by the overabundance of sautéed onions which also made the sliced kind of greasy. The second slice was also Sicilian with a vodka sauce. Bestie and I enjoyed this one a lot. She informed me that she usually does not enjoy vodka sauce, but this was a good one. Lastly, I indulged in the regular slice, which was authentic, New York pizza and brought back memories from my childhood. It's hard to find a slice that makes me feel like that. Overall, I would return and sample other pizzas, as well as the pastas and that delicious looking chicken vodka Parm sandwich that was on display. The pizzeria is pretty large and open. I ordered directly to the restaurant and I specifically said that I need the driver to come up because I have a baby with me. The driver called and argued with me stating that he couldn't come up because he had other deliveries to drop off. The scampi was scattered all over and the aluminum plate was crushed, and the house salad was completely destroyed. I called to see if i could get a new salad but they refused to send one. It's been a few years since my last review of Joe & John's and I'm back to update all of you and let you know that...this place is still the best pizzeria in the neighborhood. The clams oregenata, chicken alfredo, pizza slices, and beef patties are still our go-to. However, for the Super Bowl, we placed an order for their buffalo wings and a few pies. These wings were SO GOOD. I'm talking better than WingStop (and yes, we also had WingStop that day to compare). They were incredibly flavorful and a good balance of sauce. I can't wait to have these wings again! We also recently tried the porchetta sandwich with broccoli rabe. It was really delicious. The staff is really friendly and they always have a local game (baseball, basketball, hockey, US Open, etc) playing on the televisions. It seems like they're also working on something next door. This is a review specifically about vegetarian options. Walked a mile for an eggplant parm slice to try this spot out and they had none a few weeks ago. Looked through their other vegetarian options which consisted of the same old plain cheese slices, a veggie with toppings that looked disgusting, and a white with mushroom aka the usual variety for a place. All looked like they had been sitting out way too long in way too high heat. Guy behind the counter got uppity when I asked if they had the eggplant parm slice and said they should actually have their few meager vegetarian options actually available so I walked out. So funny enough I stopped here for a slice before heading out to my boy's crib in the area after I got off the train. Tonight something went wrong and we got a small pie instead of a large (we did order a second small pie that arrived as ordered). Delivery driver was polite and apologized and when I called the restaurant they were also so nice. The owner personally delivered a replacement pie hot and perfect 10 minutes later. I've ordered from the Joe & John's over the phone for pickup many times in the past and so I figured I'd step in to the pizzeria to physically place an order for the first time. I went to get a slice and a salad and I ended up leaving left empty-handed 50 minutes later. It was around the dinner rush so I get that things get hectic but I checked in with the cashier twice on the status of my order and both times was assured it was on its way. It was only when I went to cancel my order that they finally acknowledged me, resulting in one of the employees asking me to wait a bit longer for them to rush by order. From this experience it seems they prioritize their takeout orders far more than anything/anyone else and as someone who has worked in food service before, after seeing how there were no attempts to go above and beyond to make the situation right and just a half-hearted apology, I won't be giving them my business ever again. read more

They got my delivery wrong twice for the same order. I was supposed to get two orders of rigatoni siciliano because my sister got it before and really liked it. The first time they delivered it, we received two orders of pasta with pieces of prosciutto, peas, and maybe an alfredo sauce. Not only was this completely wrong but this is not even a thing on their menu! We called to tell them about the mistake and they came to my house a second time about 20 minutes later with two different but still incorrect dishes. This time what we received was closer to what we ordered but still not right. There were tiny pieces of oil laden eggplant but twas missing the ricotta salata and fresh basil. In addition, it was saturated in a garlic tomato sauce. And when I say garlic, I mean GARLIC. I literally made a pile of huge fresh garlic chunks to throw out. The only reason they got even two stars is because I really enjoy their spinach arancini. It's not easy to find vegetarian rice balls to begin with and they make a great one. With being this unreliable, though, I will not order from this place again. I like to know what I'll be eating for dinner. read more

This review is solely based on a take out pie. I don't live near this restaurant at all. Luckily I had the opportunity to try it when a patient brought it in to my job. The grandma slice is absolutely incredible I inhaled 3 slices (not a norm for me). I didn't try a regular slice because the grandma was too good and I didn't want the flavor out of my mouth.
