I love the food at Angelina's so much that I visit every time I am in town. The restaurant is comfortable and has a very relaxed vibe. In fact, I even emailed ahead this time to arrange taking some back home. Sadly, the person I communicated with did not inform the staff working the day of our visit. I have not been here for a while but it was about 3:30pm on a Tuesday when I arrived. I really liked the ambience of the interior (mohagany dark wood wainscoting with a candle on the table during dinner) as I was taken to my table. There are all booths and they play cool music, Johnny Mathis era. I decided to order the steak sandwich with a side of raviolis. I was told It's a popular entree. The steak was cooked med rare as I requested. A semi-juicy, top sirloin about 8 oz. The roll it was served on was fresh and soft. The raviolis were great! Nice tasting sauce! Good portion! A bread basket with garlic bread was served complimentary beforehand. My server was good. She was friendly and was attentive enough when I asked for a side of blue cheese for my tomatoes. OK, first of all let me say I'm updating my review from the last time this place has been consistently good over the years the service of all the employees I've always been excellent. But now the only different thing is, I have tried the deli part of the business And I honestly have to say they make one of the best deli sandwiches in Stockton if not in the county, I've been getting the turkey with salami pepper jack cheese with all the lettuce, tomato the usual and I have to say it is excellent. Ambiance has always been good. Special shout out to the guy that has been making m deli sandwiches!! They have a special on Sunday where kids eat free with a purchase of an entree (1 child per adult). We ordered: Chef's special (4/5) with fettuccine pasta. Per my husband the pasta was good. Chicken fettuccine (4/5) Per my sis in law, it needed a little more sauce. Spaghetti with meatballs (4/5) The entries come with either soup or salad. The self service salad bar was great. We took our son and daughter in law out for their first year anniversary. The young lady was very polite and. Knowledgeable , the food on the hand was less than desirable, the veal Parmesan was tough enough to use as an insert if I had a hole in my shoe, the dining room is quaint and clean, I did like the old photos that were on display. Our son wanted to go to a different restaurant but we assured him that they would enjoy Angelina's. Now we feel that we need to make up for our mistake. Unfortunately, I don't have a first good impression of this place. Me and a group of seven other women came to this place because it was recommended. This was actually a bridal party. It did take a while for our food to get to us and in my opinion the portions weren't very large. But overall the food was good. I just think that they were understaffed that evening. Since I don't live in California anymore, I wouldn't fly back just to try this restaurant again. But if you're in the area keep in mind that they might be short-staffed and it might be a while before you get your food. read more

Employee Amy was super helpful in explaining what each of the pasta options were and which ones did and didn't have meat. I was craving pasta & decided to try Angelina's. Looked at menu & wanted the ribeye, dinners start at 4pm. I ordered to go. s/o to Rich the host! He went to the back & quickly brought my food out. His last words were "can't go wrong with the ribeye." When I opened my food, wasn't sure what to expect. All I could say was WELL, DAMN! The ribeye was HUGE, half the container!! I gotvthe French dip and it had a good amount of roat beef on a soft roll that soaks up the au jus. Top it with the horseradish that comes wuth and its a fantastic sandwich. My got the Eggplant Parmesian with cheese tortellini and an alfredo sauce. Tge eggplant was fried perfectly and the red and alfredo sauces were thick and rich. Each meal came with garlic bread and a salad bar that's well stocked with fresh vegetables and marinated vegetables. The atmosphere was a classic Italian restaurant. Great pit stop from Tahoe! We stopped at Angelina's on our way back and were pleasantly surprised. Super cozy vibes, great service, and huge portions--definitely worth it. I grew up in Stockton and this was always a fan favorite. Feels like you're eating at an Italian grandma's kitchen. Our waitress was friendly and just chatty enough. I don't like those waiter waitresses that go over the top trying to work a tip. Like an Italian family's dinner large portions and very tasty. If you live in Stockton and not familiar with this place, you must've been living under a rock all these years! Try it and you will not be disappointed. Very nice job Angelina's. Truly a place that stands alone. Fine Genovese cooking. Service was great. I ordered through the phone and at picked up. Ambiance nonetheless There are only two other chicken parmesan photos for reference. Now there's a few more. I gotta say the first image really sold me on the chicken parm but the second one not so much. The marinara looks brown. I quick Google search calmed my worry. Apparently the longer you simmer the sauce the darker it gets. Like gravy I guess. This is what some American Italians call marinara gravy.. whatever the case it was tasty, filling, great portions and the side of garlic bread i received was huge. It was lunch and dinner. I got the side salad with blue cheese. Mild blue cheese tasting. Salad had beans of sort and whole cherry tomatoes which was a big plus for me. Im well familiar with there meat sauce and ravioli. I get the often when available in the supermarket next door. Food4less. So I dont come here to often. I get my fix in that way. I've have to go back and try there in restaurant deli. I ordered takeout online for my family since the Olympics opening ceremony was in Italia this year. I had received lots of good recommendations for this place and the reviews look good. Unfortunately, my experience with the dishes was not comparable to the recommendations. I was pretty disappointed with the flavors and takeout presentation. I didn't take a photo of the salad because it was in bad shape and I didn't receive the italian dressing I ordered. The seafood fettuccine was the best dish we ordered. Nice creamy spice, big pieces of shrimp, and the noodles were not soggy. The ravioli, on the other hand, was a huge disappointment. The meet sauce was bland and that made the ravs taste like noodles without any seasoning. This is my favorite dish from other places, so I have a high bar when it comes to ravs. The soup was...well...not very good. The erbs and spices used in this batch of soup were overwhelming and unappetizing. On the brighter side, the gentleman who greeted me was very nice and quick to help with my order. He even asked if I need anything else before I left, which I don't get very often in Stockton. I'd be willing to give this place another shot, but next time I'm staying to eat the food while it's hot. Maybe that'll help. read more

We came for dinner on a Sunday night and there was parking available and we were seated right away. The salad bar looked small and very simple so we did not choose this option. You can either have minestrone soup or salad bar with your entree. The soup was OK, not a lot of flavor. It also comes with garlic bread which was good. For an appetizer we ordered the sampler platter. It comes with buffalo chicken wings (Sauce comes on the chicken not the side), italian sausage, fried ravioli and fried calamari. It also came with 4 sauces: Marinara, Tarter, Blue Cheese and ranch. The sausage was the best on the plate. the chicken and calamari were good but the ravioli was not. It was not crispy and it was barely warm. My husband orderd the seafood alfredo and this was a big miss. The plate was 90% pasta alfredo with some canned mushrooms and a few of the tiny salad shrimp. This was very disappointing. I ordered the half ravioli and half spaghetti. The plate was a mess, looks like it was just thrown on, however the taste was good. The best part of the meal was our server, Danell. She was very professional, freindly and was just a joy. One thing to note, the bathroom is located in the dining room in a very busy spot and it just has one toilet, so you have to wait outside which is a little uncomfortable.
