    Shrimp Scampi
    Annie N.

First time here with hubby he said it was good so I wanted to try it. The restaurant looks nice and clean. The employees was very nice she ask what we like kept coming back to see how we love our meal. The Shrimp Scampi is very good, my husband knows I love seafood. My hubby enjoy his Meat Lover's Calzone. Food:4/5 Service: 4/5 Would I recommend: Yes, if you're down in Stockton please check out this place.

Bruschetta Chicken - low carb option

Our server was very cheerful and checked on us regularly to refill our drinks and remove plates. Since I am on a low carb diet, I was very pleased they had items marked on the menu "low carb" and provided zoodles (spiral zucchini) as an option for pasta. I had the chicken bruschetta, which was a great proportion size, chicken was good and loved the balsamic, it was very heavy on the basil. Husband had the fettuccini Alfredo and stated the sauce wasn't that great. We have ate here before and he has always liked the Alfredo, just not today. As always the salad was delicious, I always love the addition of the raisins which gives a great sweetness. As always we will be back since it's one of the better affordable pasta options in the Lodi area.

I decided to bring my friend to Strings for lunch since she had never tried it before, and it did not disappoint. She was so impressed with the whole experience and completely fell in love with the bread (honestly, same ). The service was great as always, and the vibe is consistently just right. It's one of those spots you can count on every time.

This restaurant has been on my list to try for a little while. Decided to visit on a Saturday night. The restaurant is clean and well lit. The majority of customers were dining families. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. My order came with a salad, which I enjoyed. There was also bread included but no olive oil / balsamic to accompany it. I ended up trying the chicken picatta, which comes with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The mash potatoes were well seasoned. The broccoli was fine. I was somewhat disappointed with the lack of flavor and portion size of the chicken picatta. The chicken breast was small and perhaps needed more capers. The sauce covering it was bright yellow but had no flavor. My wife had the salmon pescattora which she enjoyed very much. In conclusion, Strings is a good casual dining restaurant for families and couples alike.

WARNING: DECEITFUL PRACTICES. First complaint, guy who took my name forgot to write it down. I noticed he sat three people before me then when i told him about it he apologized and sat us down. Fine. I ordered the pasta siena. I ordered it because I LOVE SUN DRIED TOMATOES in pasta, guess what you get FRESH TOMATOES. i told the waitress and she suggested "we can saute some sundried and give it to you on the side" So you do have it on stock but decided to replace the ingredient without notice to the customer. Sun dried is more expensive than roma tomatoes. Ambiance is nice tho. I cant believe they would deceive people with cheaper ingredients in hopes of someone not noticing.

    Lasagna and tortellini

I ordered Sunday dinner here through Door Dash. I had not enjoyed their food since they remodeled. I was pleased that at the time, they were offering a large percentage off before 6pm for their entrees. I decided to try the Lasagna and Tortellini combo with a cup of minestrone soup. The minestrone soup tasted great. Not salty and the perfect blend of vegetables and seasoning. However, the tortellini stole the show for me! It had a delightful cheesy sauce and along with the lasagna I was in italian dinner heaven! They also included some of their bread which was lightly toasted and seasoned. I most definitely want to dine in next time.

    Pepperoni Calzone!
    Dale S.

Got a craving for their peperoni calzone last night and I was shocked to see that I haven't updated this review in like 10 years! I can't believe how long I have been coming here. This place is a staple in Lodi. I loved the old Tuscan vibe of the resturaunt but the remodel is truely lovely; super sleek, clean and modern. If you have time, I suggest dining in as they are always generous with salad and bread but I always seem to be in a rush! My calzone was delicious as always, though it seems to be filled with less and less pepperoni over the years and for me to pay $17 for a take out calzone, you know it has to be good. I love their fresh marinara and the salty pepperoni and as long as they are open I will keep coming back here!

It's been a long while since i was at a String's. Based on the sunday night crowd they are popular. Busy but seated quickly by pleasant hostess. Greeted by our server Lyndsay who was pleasant and did a great job. Ordered chianti and breaking bud. they do have several wines and beers to select from. Reviewed menu and asked our server for reco and she said the shrimp scampi and salmon over angel hair was her favorite. So I ordered asked for some capers to be added. We also had beef tortalinni and we both enjoyed some fresh endless salad. It's so good. Rolls are garlicky and hot. Everything was fresh and good Didn't leave a crumb. Look forward to coming back and trying some other items.

    Lemon Spaghetti & Shrimp

I frequent this restaurant and have noticed a few changes over the years that make me believe it's no longer worth dining here. Most notably, there are menu changes without the menu actually being modified, there is no longer freshly grated parmesan (they will offer you parmesan cheese and bring out the same dried cheese shaker you expect to see at a pizza joint), less complimentary bread is given, and no offer of refills. The restaurant is beautiful and clean with decent service but it's evident things are going downhill. I will admit my party's food was good but we won't be back.

They have the best selections on their menu and the food is always great. The ambiance is awesome and their waiters and waitresses are wonderful. We tried the Crispy Artichoke Hearts and the Shrimp FRA Diavolo. Both were very delicious - We're hoping they willget added to the regular menu.

Bad: Their "Kobe" burger was $29 or so and was a good portion size. The problem? Lacking any kind of flavor or seasoning. The beef was flavorless. The stroganoff was a good portion size but again it was severely lacking in the seasoning department. Good: Those who ordered the corn soup and the porcini mushroom ravioli enjoyed them. They especially enjoyed the sauce from the ravioli. The desserts overall were enjoyed by the table. The sticky toffee pudding, while not as rich as we are used to, was still relatively good; soft and moist enough. The dark chocolate oblong with mango passion fruit was enjoyed by everyone too. The interior remains unchanged; like a classy London gastropub. Service: communication is key. Where they dropped the ball was that we mentioned on the reservation that we were there for Father's Day and prime rib, which they do on Sundays. As you walk in you even see the sign for the prime rib special. We sat down and the server mentioned that there was no prime rib this weekend. I had even chatted with them on the reservation app and they made no mention of this. We could have gone somewhere else had we known in advanced. Our server was relatively nice too.

The ambiance isn't anything beyond a basic deli without any of the frills or specialty touches. It's just plain and a bit worn. Primarily known for Italian food this is where it apparently shines. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Navigating the menu was a little awkward as everything seems customized, which is fine but takes a bit to figure it out. We ordered a meatball sandwich to share along with a bag of chips and two drinks. We had ordered a #6 which we were charged for, but didn't really get the supposed complimentary sides. No big deal. The meatball sandwich really didn't figure into that equation anyway. The sandwich made from scratch and warmed nicely with oozing mozzarella cheese was simply delicious. What impressed me most was it was not made with a red tomato sauce but rather a brown sauce. That's something one sees a lot in the Italian influenced communities in and around New Orleans. What's nice is the brown sauce doesn't overwhelm the tastiness of the meatballs which were plump and quite delicious. Have a lot of napkins as it gets messy. Overall it was a good experience. You really have to know what you want and what to get before blindly walking in here. It does appear to be a chain with several locations in the surrounding area.

The food was incredibly bland and didn't taste like authentic Italian cuisine at all. The trio plate was especially disappointing. The Alfredo had almost no sauce and absolutely no flavor, and the pesto tasted like it came straight from a jar. Overall, everything was just mediocre and lacked the rich, fresh flavors you'd expect from an Italian restaurant. The service was painfully slow throughout the meal, and to make matters worse, there wasn't any wine, beer, or other alcohol available, which was surprising for an Italian restaurant. The dining room was also uncomfortably hot. It appears they only use wall-mounted air conditioning units, and they weren't keeping up, making it difficult to enjoy the meal. The only reason I'm giving this an extra star is because the green beans served with the chicken Marsala were actually pretty good. Unfortunately, one good side dish wasn't enough to make up for the long wait, bland food, slow service, and uncomfortable atmosphere. I won't be returning.

I was recommended to try the pork schnitzel by my friend and it did not disappoint. I got my sandwich with a side salad. We also ordered the deviled eggs to share. My friend has never had the deviled eggs before and pleasantly surprised and delighted that the eggs were absolutely delicious. They're very smooth, eggs were cooked perfectly and the touch of bacon was just right. It does come with a small helping of mixed greens topped with pickled onions. The pork schnitzel was crispy & crunchy due to the breaded pork loin, came with pickled onions, slaw and the chipotle aioli sauce. The sauce does have a bit of a kick to it but it wasn't too spicy, well, at least for me. My salad was very good too. It was colorful and had an interestingly tangy dressing on it. It paired well with the sandwich. One was spicy and the salad was tangy but refreshing. My friend also ordered the pork schnitzel with beef tallow fries. I tried some of her fries and they were thin but still crispy. Overall the food at West Oak Nosh was so good and delicious! We sat inside, where the space features exposed brick, artwork throughout, and very comfortable seating... my partner specifically pointed that out. The layout includes a mix of seating areas, which gives it a more relaxed, layered feel. The bar area, known as the Ghost Lounge, adds a darker, more lounge-like element to the overall atmosphere. Service was excellent. Our server, Lacy, was friendly, attentive, and witty - easily one of the best servers we've had in a while. For drinks, I had a local Oak Farm red wine that was excellent. Others in our group had mimosas, which were well received... especially the grapefruit mimosa, which my partner really enjoyed. For food, there were several highlights. My partner had the chicken and waffles and loved it; I tried some and would agree it was very good. Another person in our group ordered the steak breakfast tacos, which came as a set of three. They only ate two, and I had the third and it was delicious and something I would recommend. Another in our group had the eggs Benedict and thought it was excellent. I had the biscuits and gravy with fried eggs. It was okay, but not something I would go out of my way to order again. In terms of value, prices felt consistent with the quality of the food, service, and overall setting. It's not a budget brunch spot, but it feels appropriate for the experience. Overall, it was a really enjoyable Easter brunch with great service, a comfortable and well-designed interior, and several strong menu items. I'd rate it a 4 out of 5, though if half-points were an option, this would land closer to a 4.5. We'd definitely come back.
