My husband took me there to try a new place and OMG... we LOVED it. The food was so fresh, and full of flavor. We had the caviar with the potato chips and it was SO good... we're already talking about going back just for that. The pasta and drinks were delicious, my husband asked for a second drink (it was that good), and the kitchen surprised us with an asparagus dish that was super refreshing, tender but crunchy! Writing this is honestly making me crave the pâté again. The only thing I'd change is the bread was a little less toasted and not burnt. Overall, highly recommend. Perfect fine-dine spot for a lovely date night. We were initially expecting a lot more vegetarian options but they were only doing their 3-course meals that day. We got the Cure farm spicy green salad - the vinaigrette was absolutely delicious. The dates added a nice sweet touch to the whole dish. Perfect start to the meal Rigatoni alla vodka - the sauce was terrific and the rigatoni was well-made The grilled bison (but vegetarian - with the trumpet mushrooms) - the sauce and spice rub on the mushrooms were good but the mushroom hadn't absorbed the flavors very well. Our drinks were the '23 Tyler pinot noir (recommended pairing with the third course) and the FIG-gure-it-out cocktail. Both were smooth and the cocktail was well-made. We had items from their menu for the Restaurant week. It was a three course meal and a perfect introduction for us to Point Easy. The service was outstanding like at fine dining establishments. Very friendly staff and very knowledgeable. We enjoyed their salads. Would definitely go back for just them. I liked the butter lettuce salad the most, for its creamy light dressing and breadcrumbs for the crust, but my husband was static about the couch green salad. I would say it has Mediterranean flavors in it, which goes along with grilled bison, that has similar notes. Let me tell you more about pasta! Vodka sauce was so creamy and tasty. Bolognese is definitely my favorite. I liked the amount of meat on the plate, which wasn't too much or too light, just the perfect amount and the way it was prepared. The final course was the main star of the dinner. Seared scallops got me good. I'll be back just for that dish along. They were smoky, with well prepared and combined sides. Grilled bison was very tender and tasted delicious with sweet potatoes and garlic sauce. We definitely be back to explore more items in their menu. A friend and I had the date and pistachio salad with ras al hanout vinaigrette topped with a delicate white cheese that was excellent with a beautiful presentation. The black bass in mole was served with a fried squash blossom and had a lot of depth in the mole amarillo. The vegetables served with it were a bit vinegary, but good. The blue crab pasta was beautifully presented with a delicate sauce, topped with leeks, I believe. We enjoyed the fries. The chicken mayo sounded weird that comes with it, but tasted like regular mayo. The s'mores dessert - you need to have that! Delish!!! We has a wonderful time! We went for our anniversary and were greeted with a small glass of champagne which we greatly appreciated. Service was great! No complaints. Wednesday is all day happy hour so that was cool. Food: (1) Vodka pasta on happy hour: delicious. Homemade pasta and the sauce was too die for (2) Oysters: $12 for 6 on happy hour and they were delicious and fresh (3) Spring pea appetizer: we both described it as basically a carbonara cream sauce, but with vegetables. It was incredible. (4) Mussels: a tad of spice and pankos and were so good (5) Crab pasta: we thought this was gonna be our favorite and was actually our least favorite. It was really good homemade pasta, but not a ton of flavor. Very fresh though. Ambience is super approachable where you can dress up or down and feel comfortable. Large bar. As dramatic as it sounds, I truly don't think I'll ever eat anywhere that compares to Point Easy. The standout--and the reason I came--was the charred cabbage in khao soi sauce. I've always loved khao soi, but they've elevated it here in a way that's hard to articulate. The sauce was luxurious and perfectly balanced, with microgreens adding a bright, fresh contrast, and the accompanying mushrooms were flavorful and added a great element to the dish. We also had the rabbit malfaldine and the bolognese--both exceptional. The bolognese, in particular, surprised me with its depth and richness. In Denver with friends, the hotel concierge recommended a small, quaint Italian restaurant named Point Easy. A homerun nestled in a quiet neighborhood with a modern feel and relaxing ambience. We would never of tried this as it was not a big presence on the food sites. This place is a GEM! We sat near a bank of large windows with the outdoors looking in and soft lighting, giving the impression that dinner was going to be special. The waitress took our drink orders and asked us if there were questions about the menu. She very accurately discussed each of our choices without directing us to something we did not inquire about. We shared the roasted squash with sumac yogurt, harrisa and pomegranate molasses. It was good. The charred cabbage with lemongrass, tamarind, peanuts, chestnut mushrooms and khao soi was a showstopper. The combinations here were different and together a great mix. Our entrees that we shared were the mushroom ricotta with black garlic butter, herb salad, creme fraiche and marsala was unbelievably good. This was hands down, my favorite dish. The creste di gallo bolognese was meat heavy with beef, lamb, pork and chives. It was delicious for the amount of heavy proteins included. A definite close second to the risotto. The salmon with a green apple and horseradish salad, sunchoke latke, romenesco, dill was fine but not even close to the two other entrees. The risotto and bolognese were a total level above with flavor and taste. I am so happy we were directed to this Gem of a restaurant nestled in a quaint Denver neighborhood. Once we decided to go here, I looked up the menu and choices. As any good restaurant will do, the season dictates the changing menu. I was sad that the choices I wanted were not available, but loved the selections we made with the help of our waitress. Went here for our one year wedding anniversary and it did NOT disappoint. Holy moly, this place was so cute and SO yummy. To start- they brought us some free bubbles to celebrate us, then they space all your food out based on taste and how it should be ate. This is a neighborhood place that has potential but both the food and service was not impressive. It's a very modern looking space, huge bar that you can always find a seat at and a small patio. We found the service rushed and not really attentive in terms of checking in at the right times. I asked for a taste of wine and didn't care for it and thought the waitress was bringing me another taste, instead a glass showed up. I didn't think it was great but didn't feel like sending it back. The food: The chicken liver mouse was watery and with whatever flavor they put on top it overpowered it. They said they used butter to make it but that seemed off to me. It was beautifully plated but the portion was small, and I like European portions. The aguachile was not spicy, the shrimp was not great either. I would have preferred a nice fresh fish and a balanced sauce. My husband go the bison, which was incredibly chewy, if it was my dish I would have sent it back. I got the bass, and the portion tiny, instead of fillet it was two small, end looking pieces of fish that seemed like less than 4oz and the rest was veggies. For the price, this was disappointing on many levels. It feels like they know how to place, and have access to good ingredients but just fail at execution at a foodie level. read more

I want to like Point Easy more than 3 stars but I think it misses the mark on a lot. The service is always great and the place is tastefully decorated and kept immaculate. Do not get me wrong, the food is not bad at all, just at that price point, I guess I am expecting much more. None of the dishes I've tried are bad, some are even great, but not unique or creative enough to justify the price you pay. I guess I expect more if I am paying a premium. Either more proportion or more flavor, I'd be fine with either. Best way I can describe it is B grade food at A+ prices AND proportions. What an amazing find! I cannot say enough good things about our experience at Point East. They were able to accommodate us as a table of 8 on short notices. Our server was knowledgeable ,attentive and food/drinks came out quickly. The space is very comfortable and chic. They had a lovely selection of cocktails as well as wines and whiskeys too. The food was AMAZING. The pastas are cooked perfectly and each flavor was on point down to the candied fennel slivers that accompanied the short rib. It's hard to say what the favorite dish was but among the pastas the bolognese is a clear winner. The fish and short rib main dishes were both fantastic. The mussels are an absolute must try. Absolutely loved Point Easy -- from the vibe to the food to the drinks. The Charred Cabbage was the absolute star of the night. It was bursting with flavor, so much so that after our mains, we skipped dessert and ordered another Charred Cabbage instead! The Beet Tartar was also great. The flavors were softer compared to the bold cabbage, but still delicious -- the soft, citrusy beet paired with labneh was perfect. I do wish there was a bit more labneh than just the four small dots. The Corn Risotto was delicious as well. My husband had the Bolognese. He's not a big meat eater, but he trusted our server's recommendation and ended up absolutely loving this meat-forward dish. And I have to call out the Queen Hawaiian -- easily the best cocktail I've had in a long time. It wasn't too sweet, too tart, or too heavy (which pineapple and coconut drinks often can be). I'd rather go to Tavernetta if I'm looking for a great meal at a similar price point. They brought me the wrong wine, which happens, but I wasn't able to flag them down and so by the time I could talk to the server it was late in the dinner so I had to chug my glass and they didn't offer to comp it or anything. Which I understand, but at restaurants charging their prices I'm used to a different level of service. On every dish there was something great and then something mediocre. For example the bone marrow was great but only came with two pieces of bread which were a little overcharred in my opinion. Again tried to ask for more but by the time I could talk to someone we were basically done and then only offered a plate of 4 pieces of bread. The clams and gnocchi dish had perfectly cooked clams and gnocchi but the crackers were very soft and the broth was just ok. Rabbit pasta tasted delicious but was much more figs than rabbit so it overwhelmed the flavor of. Again happy with everything but not 5 stars. WHAT A HIDDEN GEM! AMAZING NEIGHBORHOOD RESTAURANT! We spent a night in Denver before our morning flight back home, and we're glad we finished our recent Colorado trip on a high note! We arrived at around 5:30pm, and the place was quite packed already - no surprise as it was New Year's Eve! Glad we made a reservation, and we were seated right away. Service was amazing! Our server was very attentive, friendly, and considerate. We were going to order some appetizers first as we needed more time to decide on main courses. He politely asked us to place food order all at once since the kitchen was busier than usual due to holiday season. We appreciated his full transparency, and his tone and the way he handled the situation was perfect - he took good care of their kitchen crew without offending the customers! Their cocktail was probably the best I've had during the whole trip. I had the "Birdwatcher" (bourbon based), a refreshing cocktail that's well balanced between citrusy and bitterness. I'll highlight a few dishes we had from that night: - Persimmon Carpaccio + Truffle: this is an item from the "kitchen fun" section of their menu, and honestly we didn't even know what to expect. It turned out to be a very pleasant surprise! Persimmon's sweetness and truffle's earthiness complimented each other nicely, and the nuts on top added more texture to it! - Beet & Chicory Salad: just imagine having a bite mixed with sweetness from beets, citrusy from grapefruit, richness from goat ricotta cheese, and chewiness from pistachio. This is so satisfying! - Truffled Mushroom Tagliatelle: what a great change from the lighter carpaccio / salad dishes to a "full-body" pasta dish. Without surprise, the truffle butter further enhanced the nutty and earthy flavor of the porcini mushroom, and the pasta was cooked to perfection. The aim feels like it's excellent food without it being too "Chef's Table." No foams, elaborate presentations, servers giving you the oral history of the dish, etc. Just well executed, tasty, at times beautiful dishes. Service was attentive w/o being in-your-face. Only demerit would be the coursing (or lack thereof) - we ordered everything but dessert up front (at the waitress' recommendation), but things weren't really coursed - apps came all at once and then mains all at once. Left a big gap between the two, which was fine but maybe not ideal? Food was very good, although only two items from our order tipped into the "truly great" category. Our group had: - Fries with chicken mayo - Chips & Caviar - Broiled Mussels w/ Nduja Butter - Charred Corn Risotto - Creste di Gallo Bolognese - Crab Caramelle - Flatiron Steak - Smores Bar - A second cream-based dessert that I'm forgetting (maybe a semifreddo?) The two "great" dishes were the Bolognese and the second dessert (annoying I can't remember what it was). That unnamed dessert was a rare combo of delicate and flavorful that's hard to pull off. Least impressive were probably the potato chips / caviar (not much to innovate on there) and the crab caramelle. The latter came in a pretty small portion, which we were warned about, and which would normally be fine if it was exceptional. But it was not, in our humble opinion. They really cared about making you have a good dining experience. We asked for a quieter area and they were very accommodating. Fairly expensive $35+ entrees for very small portions (prob european portions not american). We got the crudo appetizer which was very tasty. I liked the hiramasu fish a lot but not so much the radish. The hanger steak was good. Juicy, tender. Sweet potato puree was good. Brussel sprouts amazing. The bolognese pasta was absolutely phenomenal. Homemade noodles, mix of meat (beef lamb pork) sauce, just amazing. Would 100% get again. The apple spongey cake was really really flavorful and good. Point easy has been on our list for a while as we live close by and it's a super cute neighborhood restaurant. We came for restaurant week on a Saturday night, and it was incredibly busy. The hostess was incredibly warm and welcoming, we felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. Our table was not ready and we ended up waiting for nearly thirty minutes, despite this, the manager was very attentive, apologetic and kind. We had a lovely table. Our waiter was not as warm as the hostess or manager, but kind enough. We both had the kale Caesar which had great flavor- but the kale was a bit tough. My husband ordered the bolognese which was really good. The vodka sauce pasta was a real let down. It was so salty I could barely eat it. We also both ordered the hanger steak and our waiter did not ask our preference for cook/temperature. When it arrived, it was also so salty we could not eat it and it was barely cooked. We sent it back and were so disappointed we did not want another one. I give four stars because the manager was so incredibly kind, disappointed for us and she comped the food. I am chalking this up to the restaurant being insanely busy for restaurant week. We do want to return and give this place another try, perhaps not during restaurant week. I was so sad that this visit had so many issues, but we felt taken care of, this alone will mean we will give it another go soon. read more

I live at 13th Avenue and rarely venture north of 17th, but we were looking for a convenient happy hour spot and it dawned on me that this new restaurant was just a few blocks north, so we braved the wilderness in search of sustenance. We arrived early and were sitting in the car talking when I noticed a rather substantial line forming at the door. That seemed like a good sign. Wow, has this space been transformed! The Whittier Pub had been here since 2013 and was a dark, barely decorated, completely unappealing venue. Maybe OK for a neighborhood bar, but nothing more. The store has been gutted and transformed into an extraordinary, elegant canvas for fine dining. There is a beautiful bar with seating on two sides and a separate dining area. Everything has clean lines and an aesthetic appeal. Very unexpected for a little neighborhood restaurant. We sat at the bar which was very comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly, very enthusiastic, experienced, and helpful. The happy hour red (Les Roches) was excellent. We started with the charcuterie board which included a number of tasty nibbles plus excellent cheese and salumi. We also tried the happy hour oysters (Blue Hill Bay)--delicious. We ordered the lamb meatballs from the regular, small plates menu. Very nicely presented and very yummy. However, the highlight of the meal was the Golden Corn Cake dessert. This was amazing. It came with roasted Colorado peaches and brown butter ice cream. I'm almost at a loss to describe how wonderful this was. The flavors melded perfectly and it went very well with the nice armagnac (Marie Duffau Napoleon) we found on the spirits menu. We had a delightful time. I have to say it was a disappointment and underwhelming experience and if you want new American style food in Denver, you can definitely find a better place. This was my second time coming here, and I have been disappointed both times. Let me start off by saying that the service is great and the servers are all wonderful. The ambiance inside is very lively and full and bustling. Especially at peak dinner hours. So if you want to go somewhere for the ambience and drinks, sure this place can be on your list. However, if you're a foodie and want good food then this isn't a place i would bring my close friends or family if they're visiting Denver. The charcuterie board came with one tiny block of cheese for $29. Which for the price, I expected some more cheese lmao. The steak - came out COLD. That was the first time I've ever been served cold steak in a restaurant. I guess I made a face when I ate it and a server came over and asked if everything was alright and I just had to say the steak was cold bc I was not paying $50 for cold steak. They reheated it and brought it back out - it was now lukewarm but wasn't worth saying something again about.
