Greek pizza!!! I am so happy we found this place tonight. The pizza style is Greek, which means that the crust is flavorful, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The cheese goes all the way to the crust, and the toppings plentiful but not overwhelming. There is a good balance of sauce/cheese/toppings. If you like the more flavorful, buttery, cheesy style of pizza you won't be disappointed! I'm already looking forward to going back. read more

Desperate for a semi late bit for the kids and family. It was the only place open past 8pm, and thank goodness it was! After spending a small fortune buying dinners and lunches on vacation this was welcome simplicity. Two cheese pizzas, two Greek salads and some Buffalo fingers. The courteous staff brought out the salads in about a minute. They were as fresh and delicious as any I've ever had. There's a great hole the wall place that we worshiped the Greek salads near where my wife grew up in MA. This is the bar for greatness by which we judge all Greek salads. And when I tell you this was on par potentially even a little bit better is amazing. I shake as I write this as I fear the wrath of my wife and her family however, the reality is the Greek salad was fresh delicious with generous amounts of amazing feta. I could eat a block of feta the size of my head and I would say we were served enough that I definitely was not looking for more in fact I had a huge chunk to eat at the end with no salad left to accompany it -thank thee oh lord. The buffalo fingers were also delicious it was a unique sauce Was definitely not not Frank's red hot, it was something they made in the kitchen. Super tender and super hot with amazing homemade blue cheese which just crushed. And I say this because my nine year old son is a blue cheese connoisseur and will not eat pizza without it. Try it you won't regret it. The pizza was also really great the sauce tangy as it should be Greek style of course. Could've been cooked a tad longer but they came out really quickly which one your wife is hungry and your kids are hungry you're not gonna argue with the man about being fast. At the end of our meal our eyes always bigger than our stomachs we had extra buffalo fingers and some pizza left over and Angelo generously gave me a fantastically constructed and well adorned pizza box and Styrofoam container to bring the remains of my wonderful meal home to be enjoyed once again at a later time in infamy. Angelos will be treasured by myself and my family for generations to come he shall live on in infamy in my heart and in the heart of my children who is bellies are now for insoles joyful fallen teaming of life now that they've experienced the joy that is Angelo's Pizza. read more

We have eaten pizza all over the country, we love pizza, and this is some of the best pizza we have ever eaten. Quality ingredients. Exceptional crust. The crust was delicious and not at all greasy. Great sauce and quality toppings. The owner George is just delightful. You can tell when the staff cares about the boss, and clearly this staff cares about him. I know in a post Covid world it has been tough to find employees, and maybe even tough to find your old customers, but not here. Place has ok pizza and prices; unfortunately the staff has changed and now by default tells everyone carryout orders will be 45mins or more (no matter the day of week or time or what is ordered). There is lack of understanding of food prep or timing estimations; food is typically cold when picked up indicating it had been ready for awhile. Disregarded quoted time a couple of visits to find food was ready in 20 mins. No longer recommend. read more

If you are staying in Ellsworth to check out Acadia National Park make sure you plan accordingly because we found everything in Ellsworth closed before 8pm (we were looking on Wednesday and Thursday nights). We stumbled upon Angelos our first night in Ellsworth after doing a grocery trip for the week and not wanting to cook after just arriving. The mushoom and pepperoni pizza we got was absolutely amazing. We also ordered a greek salad which wasn't anything too special but it sufficed. We caught ourselves coming back from the park after 8 on Thursday and after doing some searching for anything that was open, we ended up back at Angelos because it was so good and ordered the same pizza. This time with breadsticks which was basically just pizza dough with cheese and sauce on the side, and a garden salad instead of a greek salad which was literally the same salad without feta and olives. All in all, if you don't want to cook for the night Angelos was a great spot. They also have some great combo deals on pizza if you are traveling with a family and are look to spread out a couple dinners of pizza across the week to save some dough. read more

As far as being a supportive local I tend to try my best not to leave negative reviews, but man I went here for a large pizza and some gyros and I didn't feel like I could come back here afterward. It was quick and convenient and generally pretty good aside from being stared down by staff the entire time waiting. My real complaint sadly lies within just atmosphere. It was so hostile. Let me explain. Upon trying to leave after paying and thanking them for the food, right as the door was opening I could over hear some crap talk about me being there being said(I was there for no more than 5 mins top I minded my own and I called ahead, water under the bridge whatever) but as soon as the front door closed and I was outside no joke two people were standing outside the front door and tried getting in my face for who knows what. I simply stated do you really want to go there with me and gave them a pretty harsh glare. They backed off but what I gathered from a lot of folks afterward is it's just generally a rougher crowd hanging around and at this place by evening and this is despite the food being pretty good. I can handle myself fine but I'd hate anyone else to be put in such a situation such as this. Just be careful folks. If you are getting food from here I would probably consider delivery. Like I said it isn't the food that wasn't great it's likely just location really. Streets can be rough around and during the night as it is so maybe it isn't fair of me to leave a critical review of a place for this but sometimes I feel safety is priority one and can over rule any experience if not handled with care. Generalized well being shouldn't be a concern when going out to eat. Simple as that. read more

The food is fantastic - there is enough meat on the Steak Bomb sandwich to make half a dozen subs at any other place. However, they need to stop being so stingy with the heat. Last time we were in there we both sat eating with our coats on - turn up the heat in the winter! Sadly, I don't think they ever have the heat on in the dining area - it's always cold in there. My family and I order from here about once a month for pizza, calzones and subs. Staff is usually courteous but seem bored or frustrated oftentimes (I'm not sure which). The restaurant itself is simple and ideal for a drop in/hop out meal. I usually order ahead and pick up so that's never an issue for us. The pizza always comes with generous toppings and is consistently good. My favorite item on the menu is the "Boston Special Calzone"! It is basically a Philly Cheese Steak in a calzone cooked to perfection. The marinara sauce that comes with it is also exceptional. When you consider the price, the food quality is up there. We intend to keep this pizzeria in our rotation of family pizza night orders. read more

Stopped in here based on earlier reviews, and am frankly disappointed. Ordered cheese-steak with mushrooms, didn't get mushrooms. Roll/bun on the sandwich was gooey, and 2 pieces of the steak where un-chewable. Son got a cheese pizza, which was mediocre, but I've had worse. Mozzarella cheese sticks were very good, however. Can't speak to the speciality pizzas. I'd steer clear. read more
