Very good food. I'm downgrading them to four stars (almost gave 3 stars but my wife weighed in); because they don't honor their posted hours. Last night we drove across town only to find the door already locked nearly an hour before their posted closing time. We called from the sidewalk and were told nonchalantly that they decided to close early since business was slow, not even an apology. When we talked to them today, the lady said they close early a lot for that reason. This just makes Angelo's undependable for evening dining. read more

Really really delicious! If you are a fan of a chunkier pasta sauce, you will really love theirs. The restaurant is very family friendly and well kept. They have a lovely back room perfect for a party of 6-10. The zucchini is delicious and the gelato is a must have for dessert. Was recommended here by my hotel. Was a full parking lot but was plenty of room inside. Sat on the patio as it was a beautiful evening. Service was slow to greet me and bring drinks. Had the veal parm. Food was good. Vegetables were over boiled as usually in restaurants. Salad not included with meal but had one anyways for extra $4.99 charge. Service was very slow. Had to try and leave before waitress came back to my table. Got the bill and left. Doubtful if I will try it again on next trip. Saw waitress three times only. Order. Drink. Bill. I was really disappointed with my meal 7/23/18. We ordered a flat bread which was cold. The cheese wasn't melted. The soup wasn't hot and the entree was also cold.. The kitchen staff appeared to be plenty but extremely loud..The only redeeming factor was the gelato which is supposed to be cold. Our server was excellent. Maybe just an off day read more

To celebrate our anniversary (492 months) my wife asked to go to Angelo's Restaurant. Her dad immigrated from Italy 101 years ago in 1912 so we've eaten many homemade Italian meals over the years. I made a reservation for 6 p.m. and we were seated promptly on our arrival. The new restaurant looks very nice, is extremely busy and a bit noisy, but so are all good Italian meals. We elected to try the fried zucchini appetizers which were tasty but unfortunately contained more fried batter than zucchini. I wanted the Eggplant Parmigiana and my wife ordered meat Ravioli. The servers are very swift and efficient and brought hard Italian bread and butter and the appetizer. The entrees arrived before we were finished with the appetizer. While my wife was happy with her ravioli I was very disappointed in the eggplant parmigiana. It was a pile of burned mush and had obviously been way overcooked some time in the recent past and re-heated to serve to me. I had asked the server if the eggplant was fresh or frozen and she assured me it was cooked fresh. I don't like mushy vegetables. The eggplant was an insult. I know that my mother-in-law Nana Mazzotti would have never served it and I'm pretty sure that Angelo and Giaccomina would have been embarrassed to put it on a plate to serve to any guest. I can understand a chef needing to precook some items to serve a meal, but this was a very bad example and I was afraid to try anything else so we paid and left. Best part of meal? The bread and water for me. Wife enjoyed her ravioli. It was one of the least satisfying anniversary dinners in our 41 years together. A great Italian restaurant to bring a big group or have a nice family dinner. We've been here for lunch too but I like it better for dinner. They have plenty of vegetarian options but favorite part of Angelo's is the gelato bar. I've pretty much sampled every flavor and I think Death By Chocolate is my favorite. read more

Been to this place several times. Very friendly wait staff. Fresh ingredients, They don't add sugar to their sauce which I appreciate, Parmesan cheese is flaked (nice touch), great meals! We ordered anti pasta salad and spaghetti during a non busy 5 p.m. and it took a long time. Couldn't figure that one out. They also didn't replenish the sparse amount of bread they gave us. I really don't eat a lot of bread, but doesn't everyone love bread with salad and spaghetti? Would have been an easy 4 stars if not for a couple basic lapses in service. read more

This restaurant is about 45 minutes from our home so the only time we go here is when we are in the area. We have eaten here two times over the past year. Both times it was very good. We arrived for an early dinner around 3:30. We did not need reservations since it was so early. There were a few people seated and eating in the bar area. There were 3 tables seated in the dining area. Our first visit was very different, we had no idea we needed reservations for an evening meal, we arrived to find a full house. The hostess did find us a small 2 seat table near the kitchen. Which was fine with us. The menu is large and has something for everyone. Reasonably priced, for good food that's fresh and not from a large chain restaurant. Our waitress was very prompt. She did a wonderful job bringing our drinks and food. She brought butter and bread which was a very yummy crusty Italian. We did not have appetizers. They all looked quite good, we never order appetizers anywhere we eat. This time my husband had the spaghetti with meat sauce and meat balls, I had the chicken piccata with a side of pasta with marinara. My husband loved his meal. Two large meatballs on top a huge dish of pasta covered with plenty of meat sauce. I tried a bite of his food and it was very good. The meat balls and sauce were perfect. My chicken piccata was equally good. The two big chicken breasts were tender and had plenty of sauce although I would have liked a few more capers. It was done perfectly! The side of pasta with marinara was also very good. I am not a big fan of marinara sauce, however this was tasty. Not just a tomato sauce, it was a nice, lightly seasoned red sauce. We did get a piece of farina walnut torte to go. We ate it at home later that evening. It was incredible, light, and very tasty. We recommend this restaurant. We will eat here again when we are in the area. read more

Angelo's recently moved from its longtime location on Chestnut Street in Washingto to a newer, brighter building on the west side of town. Now, parking is simple, and the restaurant is much larger. Unfortunately, the move brought with it some drawbacks: most of the food and wine prices have increased, and the atmosphere is just not comparable to the former location - I feel almost like I'm eating in an Eat n'Park. All of that said, I have been eating at Angelo's since I was a child and will keep going back for the spaghetti and meatballs. read more

I had Veal Parmigiana that was severed Burnt, I should have sent it back, but I was a guest of someone and didn't want to embarrass my host. I also had breaded Zucchini and there was hardly any Zucchini there, it was all fried breading. I had a Cesar Salad that was okay, but was served, on a Plate way too small for the salad. Over all the meal was terrible. It's been a long time since I've been to Angelo's and I probably will never go back. The only good thing about my entire dinner was the Bottle of Yuengling Beer I had. Great authentic Italian food! Diablo pasta with chicken is phenomenal! My wife had the caprese flatbread - there flatbread is light & airy, very, very good but the tomatoes & cheese were a bit too heavy for the flatbread thinness which caused it to fall apart - still very good just a little messy. They have great soups, good appetizers & of course, the gelato is the best in town! My wife says the gelato is the best she's had since being in Italy! Highly recommend Angelo's! read more

My family was there last night around 7. We requested to be seated outside due to the noise level in the restaurant and the cold air conditioner. It was around 75, so not very hot. Once we were seated, the waitress took our order and turned the misting fans on. A musty smell filled the patio and a mist fell over us. We ask if they could be shut off and the waitress told us no because someone else requested they be on. She did agree that it smelled musty. She offered to move us to the bar which at the time was crowded and loud. She told us the manager would be out but never came out. As we ate our food, a foggy mist covered us. The sun went down and it became cold. The food was just ok but hard to even enjoy all things considered. The food also took a long time. We won't be going back anytime soon. read more

I reserved a room for a large birthday party on Saturday, and also ordered a whole tiramisù for the birthday cake. The food was excellent as usual--everyone ordered from the menu, and the appetizers and meals were served hot and in a timely manner. Both servers were very attentive, and presented the tiramisù complete with candles and a birthday decoration. A friend of mine and myself tried Angelo's on a recommendation because we prefer non-chain restaurants. Another friend who lives in Washington recommended Angelo's. I'll just say, she can recommend restaurants to us any day, any time! The ambiance was incredible and gorgeously decorated for the holidays. The service was absolutely exceptional, thank you Chris for pampering us on our first, but definitely not our last trip to Angelo's. We each live more than an hour away each direction, but the food and service are definitely worth the drive! We both had the from-scratch wedding soup that tasted like something an Italian Grandma simmered all day. Phrases like "heaven in a bowl" left my lips regarding the wedding soup and it went on from there. I had the Tuscan Panini and my friend the meatball sub; the chatting subsided as we just enjoyed these perfectly made sandwiches. Did I mention Chris? She is professional, warm, and a firecracker; what a fantastic server! Finally, the menu has old world classics as well as newer dishes; something to please all pallets. Haven't been to Angelo's for several years. I was with a party of nine people. Our waitress, Deidre was excellent. She was on top of everything we needed and very pleasant. No complaints about the slow service that others seemed to have.The food was very good-not just mine. Everyone was very happy with the meals they selected.The portions were very large. I think the prices were a little high on some of the meals. The addition of a salad for $4.85 is a bit much also. However, I could not have eaten a salad considering the size of my pasta dish. We went out for my mother in laws mother day present from me an my husband which we mostly went there cause my mother in law left her card there a few days prior to the dinner since she goes there to meet her friends once a month, we had a booth towards the front which was very nice and comfortable. We had tried Angelos a few times before and just experienced some bad service and rude people there but we decided to give another try! We had Natalie as our waitress she was amazing and so funny, she had my husband and mother in-law laughing so hard about the stuff we asked her or which we were talking about! She was very good with explaining the menu and the drink list! She checked to see if she could find my mother in laws card for us which she found thank god! But we had the original flatbread and fried mozzarella for and appetizers, dinner both of us tried the specials An if course my mother in law got spaghetti as meatballs everything was amazing she even talked us into dessert somehow! But we told her good everything was and she told me we could always leave a review on line which I never do but I was now than happy to leave one for once! After a long day on the road we stopped in for an appetizer. We sat at the bar because the restaurant was very busy. Natalie the bartender was busy too but greeted us & got to us as soon as she could. We ordered a drink & the stuffed hot peppers in homemade sauce. It was the best I've ever had! We were on a road trip, happened upon the listing for this restaurant on our GPS. A quick look at the website sold us. However, they had just changed locations, so we were led to two bogus locations by our GPS. We walked in 10 minutes before closing, and thy seated us anyway, to our surprise and delight! The food did not disappoint. Perhaps I am stereotyping small Appalachian towns, but I was not expecting much in terms of food quality. The Tom, or Mike? Salad with tomatoes was more of a meal really. It was excellent, but it was huge! It's the Italian version of fajita vegetables with chicken. It's terrific. The balsamic chicken with risotto was excellent and the tiramisu was good. The gelato, was also good. Staff helped us resolve one small food issue smoothly and without a hitch. One small thing, they have Kentucky whiskies listed and they're all made in Tennessee. I would change that. read more

I've been going to Angelo's for nearly 20 years and as has my family for much longer than that. Angelo's is a terrific restaurant that is reasonably priced and conveniently located just off of interstate 70. Their new facility is very nice with all of the modern amenities. (Though I must admit, I was more fond of the intimate setting of their old facility - call me old school.) Any of the Diablo dishes are "to die for" and of course the flat bread. My favorite dish was Michael's Black Ink Squidd Pasta - I have lobbied for years to get it back on the menu and Michael has made it a special now and then. Ask him for it (for me) when you see him! read more

The food was below average to say the least. This possibly could have been overlooked if the service was good. However, our server was terrible. Once she delivered our food, she was no where to be found. Almost 20 minutes after finishing our entrees, we had to get the attention of another server so that we may try their gelato and get our bill. And he was even rude acting like he was annoyed we asked for his assistance. Our server brought us the gelato but did not offer any type of apology for making us wait so long. Our bill was $64 and we left $70. We are normally 20% or more tippers, but there was no way the woman deserved a 20% tip. She can thank my wife for the $5 tip because I would have left nothing. Just a horrible experience all the way around. We will not be back! One positive, the gelato was pretty good. read more

This place was really good!! We came in around 12pm, with a group of 7, and at the time they were only serving a brunch buffet. It was $12.99 per person, which was a great deal considering the variety and how good the food was. I got some Mac n' cheese, potatoes, chicken, and some cheese and sausage squares on the side. We were seated quick so we got our food very quick, and it was very good! I did not try it but the people I came with told me the pancakes were fantastic, plus we got some bread.
