We came here for my son's 13th birthday. He wanted the lopes chop plate. The pork chops are delicious. I had the carne guisada plate. Oh, boy! It was some of the best carne guisada I have ever had. The tortillas were amazing- thick, soft, pillowy goodness. Also, some of the best tortillas I have ever had. The prices are totally reasonable. Absolutely delicious with great tasting salsas. I have gone twice for breakfast and it's been jampacked with people. I'm so happy to I found a Mexican restaurant on the east side not too far from work. There's swamp water is delicious and very generous size. The potatoes are round and thick and the bacon is absolute perfection. My mouth water is just thinking about it. Also their corn tortillas are really good and thick. read more

I was visiting from Los Angeles and my cousin raved about this place. I must say that the food was amazing. Not to mention the large portions even on the lunch menu. Went to this lil gem after watching a instagram post with David Elder endorsing the place. Ordered two pork chop tacos with two over medium eggs. The flavor on the pork chops was phenomenal, as good as any pork chop I have had at a soul food restaurant, even better it was fried with flour and seasoning and it was dipped and battered to make it crispy. Friendly staff. Authentic. No burritos on the menu. This is a small little hole in the wall. I took my order to go. This is authentic Mexican food where my pork chops still had the bone and works well as a taco. My only grip is they missed one of the orders of a taco that I paid for. Great service. My waitress was floating around, singing and joking with patrons as if they were lifelong friends. Very joyful woman. Food was great. I got the green enchiladas. The only thing I'd change was the chips and salsa. Chips were meh and the salsa had no kick. I'm pretty sure they forgot to add jalapeños or something. I fixed it by adding some of the green salsa that was on the table. I'll definitely come here again. Looking forward to trying some of the other dishes. read more

angel's is closely located to our workplace so it's a nice lunchtime spot. i was recommended the chile relleno and was not disappointed at all. love how the poblano pepper is stuffed to the brim with meat and although the fried batter gets soaked through with the cheese, it's so hearty and delicious. it comes with a side of beans, rice, small green salsa, and two tortillas. i also order a sweet tea - definitely sweet, recommend diluting it a bit with non-sweet tea. my only irk with the to-go chille relleno is that the styrofoam container is not lined with aluminum foil so the entire container gets misshaped due to the high heat of the food which i'm sure is not healthy for anyone to eat off of. read more

Came in to no welcome or hello ,sat ourselves and took 5-7 mins to be acknowledged we were there .toook our order of drinks and came back with store bought chips and tomato paste. Customer Service is not a word I would use, if you decide to eat here. Went in with my bride after work tired and hungry, walked in NO greeting sat down and waited and waited, single guy walks in and the female waitress jumps to get his order, we walked out. PAPA WAS A ROLLING STONE The LENGUA TACO ( Lengua ) was excellent. Super tender and seasoned perfectly. The sauce out came with was good too. Everyone should try this. The Huevos Rancheros left something to be desired. There was a lack of seasoning and eggs were runny. Definitely go with the corn tortilla. We started…read morewith the Pan Fila Conchota combo that is a combination of the two that is 1/2 gallon of hot chocolate made using a base of Abuelitas with additional cinnamon, and cocoa along with something special. It was delicious! The concha was soft, buttery and flaky, with just the right sweetness. We took home the majority of it and it stayed nice and soft instead of turning hard like so many others. We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations for us, and was quick with checking on our drinks and generally helping us throughout our dinner. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, tasteful and refreshing. We definitely will be going back, and recommend Pan Fila to all of you.

As a native Texan who's had their fair share, this was easily some of the best barbecue I've ever had. Top 5 top 5 top 5. I'm of course coming back and looking forward for more banana cream pudding especially. They were small, slightly sweet, and had great balance with the vanilla wafer ratio. That whip cream on top too had me hooked. I couldn't have asked for a better welcome back meal for the bold Texas cuisine, hospitality, and novelty animal and cowboy decor.

I feel like I am ar a big Spurs game with the sound bouncing around. Those at our table have had a hard time to have a conversation with each other at times. The small room up front is designed so sound bouncing off hard surfaces is worst in this room. I have had to ask to be relocated twice from this room due the sound level. The kitchen area in the front do not have doors to abd from the kitcgen to the dinibg rooms. Another design flaw, as a result the seating areas loud sound comes into the kitchen area. I can not imagine how the staff communicate to each other in this work setting.
