Fantastic drinks! Aisha christine and i got lucky on a friday night and had Not a second of wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I got there a bit before them and hung out in the front sitting room with Oliver who was really awesome.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had had an "early dismissal" from work that day and was coming from a few glasses of rosé at the bryant park café. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe in here was beautiful, ik it's super popular now and probably hard to feel intimate and moody but if it was less hype i feel that wld be the perfect backdrop to it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had a most delicious raisin the roof cocktail which was buttery and raisiny and sweet just the right amount. We snacked on some cucumbers too which were definitely so expensive but definitely very nice.
I use to like the hidden bar that was at St. Marks. Friend of mine brought me back to go through memory lane. Seems like they are doing well as each time we do pass by them, seem to be long waiting lines. We lucked out that night and had little wait time. The drinks are always interesting to try and if you're into exploring new flavors. This would be the spot. Granted some were questionable to taste but overall, still enjoy the environment and drinks that were given. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would say at times it gets a bit rowdy when you want to talk among friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]
Their rules are very pretentious. It's not the workers fault but the owners from what I'm told. I came in with a date and before walking out saw a friend I knew in the back. I was asking if they were staying long or leaving and they told me they were closing their check as well, but then I was told I was not allowed to talk to them. I told the waiter I was just asking where they were going since I knew them and that I just closed my check and they were as we were speaking so we were all about to leave (like literally they guy had their check receipt in his hands). But then I was told I can't even talk to them or be near them because it would mean we are part of the same party then JUST because we happens to know them. Absolutely ridiculous. I love the drinks here and they weren't ever this bad but I think the owner just got pretentious post covid and relocating and the more popular this speakeasy got and went full blown outta hand ridiculous trying to be exclusive and pretend they're extra special. As much as I love their drinks humiliating me around people I came to say hello to after making eye contact and recognizing them is insane. Especially when we're all literally about to go out the door. So stupid [[HIGHLIGHT]]This felt like segregation more than a sophisticated speakeasy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Read all the other reviews, you'll see a common theme comes up. If you sit solo at the bar, be careful not to be friendly or talk to anyone around you, they might kick you out! Maybe don't even talk to the host and be polite, they might think you know them too and they'll kick you out.. Good drinks aren't enough to change my mind now. Imagine being served a great tasting steak and then slapped and spit in the face after, would YOU COME BACK?
I got there at 6 pm on a Thursday and there was no line. This is my first time at the west village location. I kind of miss the old days. I miss the location in East Village where you had to go up the secret staircase. The place was a hole in the wall, but it was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The new location is a lot more spacious and a more of a "real restaurant."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is actually a waiting room, instead of lining up on a narrow staircase, trying to avoid other people putting there names down for a coveted spot. The drinks are still amazing. One of the few places where cocktails are a craft and the money is worth it. I tried the Painted Paradise and the pandan flavor was legit. It was the first time that I tried something that tasted like it had pandan in it. Will definitely return.

This is the kind of bar I'd make a point to revisit every time I'm in the city -- a true gem for cocktail lovers.
Delicious drinks but quite expensive! On a weekend evening, my group of four waited almost two hours in line before being seated at a table. When we got close to the front of the line, we were able to wait inside in a dark room. The place itself is dimly lit; we had slight trouble reading the extensive menu but admired the many drinks that it offered. I ordered two drinks for the night. One was the Painted Paradise: its description including jasmine, lemon, and pandan milk intrigued me. The drink came out with a flower on top, and I loved the strength of the pandan taste. The drink looked slightly denser than water, which added to the texture of the drink. My friends ordered a strong drink where they poured "smoke" or "fog," and it was a fun aesthetic effect!
Very well made cocktails. As a visitor, I had no idea this was on the 2025 North American's 50 Best Bars list. Now that I know, I must say it is a very well deserved title. Their cocktails are so smooth and delicious. I only had appetite for one drink but I would've loved to order more. Very very nice ambiance, I had a great experience here. Service was quick as well. Would totally come back again!
Just really impressive cocktails. Normally I'm not into fancy cocktails but this bar really takes bartending to a new level. The waiters and bartenders are all equally well informed and will help you figure out a drink that matches your taste that evening! Don't be afraid to ask questions, everyone is very friendly.
The relocated Angel's Share is no longer a speakeasy hidden up the stairs of an izakaya, but now a nondescript bar with its own storefront. Even if they wanted to fly under the radar, the long line snaking out the front door and way down the block would give up its covert location anyway. While most lines in New York are hardly worth waiting in, I feel differently about Angel's Share. Sure, we are indeed spoiled for choice when it comes to magnificently mixed libations in this city, but wow none of them do it as well as Angel's Share. Years ago when I first had their drinks at their original Stuyvesant Street location, I didn't know drinks could sit on your tongue in such a way. Flavors like coriander infused reposado mixed with orange, passionfruit, and coconut milk reveal themselves on your palate in layers in "Fool Me Once." You can taste the butter in the fat washed Starward, as it mixes with the curry powder, aquafaba, pineapple, and apple spiced agave in the "Take You There." I'm glad that they don't really change up the menu much, because I do grow attached to these drinks, and it's not like I can just stop in whenever to have these drinks frequently. Going to Angel's Share is a bit of an ordeal. It's probably easiest to go right when they open at 5pm. I wouldn't even say the service is all that attentive, nor is there much in the way of food. But the drinks are a cut above the rest, and that's saying a lot for New York. Their spot on the World's Best 50 Bars list is warranted.

My group decided to chance it on a Wed night. We were on vacay after all. We put our names down and the rest of my party went to another bar while I waited inside their lobby. Yes, I was on a mission and did not want to lose my place. While waiting, I noticed people who had put their names in after me were getting seated. I wasn't sure if it was due to my party size or if it was cuz rest of my group wasn't waiting with me. I had warned my friends that if they missed the seating I will go by myself, so I asked the hostess if it was due to my incomplete party. She nodded so I just said since they're at another bar drinking I can just sit at the bar by myself. This was around 45 mins later. Right when I was about to order, the boys arrived and a table had opened up, so we moved to a table. My girlfriend showed up shortly after. I am not exactly sure, but I believe I got the autumn leaves and the round midnight? I do remember thinking the cocktails were fine. I believe I liked my follow up more than the first one. The round midnight had aberfeldy 12 yr, oolong, pineau des charentes, oloroso, blue cheese. I am a blue cheese lover. Especially with liquor. I wish I recalled what was in the autumn leaves. Maybe I'd figure out why it was $27. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The mural here is the centerpiece of the space. Very pretty. Vibe is dark with dim lighting. I came here on a Friday night around 8 pm. We were only a part of 2 and had to wait 5 minutes before we were seated. We were seated at the bar. And I'm so glad we were at the bar so we could watch them make the cocktails. Everyone was so professional and kind. The menu is organized by alcohol type. The drinks I got were both vodka based. I got the Fever cocktail and it was by far my favorite! I also got the Kat something drink. drinks are really good but the glasses they come in are not that big, so you're paying for quality not quantity! I wanted to go to this place in its former location in East Village and was sad they closed. But the silver lining is them closing there meant they could reopen here! Loves: + The mural I mean, c'mon!!! + The drinks are good and cool. I can't remember the official names of my drinks, but they were like a spicy marg and mezcal negroni. + Love the bar seating. Neat to see all the drinks being made. The bar is walk-ins only and no groups more than four. We had no issue getting in when we came at the 5pm opening on Friday. Drinks are $23 so not an every day kind of spot, but hey, totally a #treatyoself spot. read more
This is a nice bar with dark lighting and we got seated after a bit of wait. The waiting area is nice though and there's some seats as well so you don't have to wait outside. I got the cocktail with white chocolate and vodka in it. It was okay but could've tasted better to be honest. Drinks are pretty. Also I wish they had food or some light snacks to get with the drinks. Angel's Share feels like it was made for quiet nights. Tucked into Grove Street with no flashy signage, it's the kind of bar you find once and want to keep to yourself. The lighting is low, the music is soft (mostly jazz when we went), and the drinks come out looking like artwork. I had the Cheek to Cheek -- smooth, not overly boozy, and thoughtfully layered. What really stood out though? The calm. No rush, no noise, just a small space that lets you slow down. Perfect for dates or solo sipping. Would definitely come back on another night I don't want to talk loudly. read more
One of our favorite bars in New York, and we always try to go when we visit. We've only had their cocktails, so I can't comment on the food, but every cocktail we've had has been great. The creativity in each drink really shows. Service is great; however, you do feel rushed sometimes, especially when there is a wait outside. read more

Lovely! We stopped in while waiting for our table at Via Carota. The host was SO nice and correctly estimated about 10 minutes to get a table. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a darkly lit, small bar with fantastic cocktails![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Z got a drink with a ham stick. It was more of a bacon straw but still, delicious! They had one option of bubbles and it was the right one. In a place selling $20+ cocktails, you should only be offering a solid champ and Angel's Share nailed it! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Highly recommend if you want a chill vibe with delicious cocktails in the West Village.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] read more
First time at the new location! While it will never replace the original, the vibes are basically the same and it's way easier to get in now. My friend and I came on a Tuesday at 5:39 PM and there was no wait. We were seated on the stools near the fireplace which was less than ideal, but the drinks were fantastic - Flirtibird was amazing. Also really liked the Dry martinez. Returned a few weeks later with my boyfriend at around 7:30 PM on a weeknight, and after a 20 min wait, we got to sit at the bar (by far the best seating option). Painted paradise and Take you there cocktails were both great. read more

Was a little confusing to find because it is hidden behind an unmarked door. They do not take reservations so we walked in around 5 PM on a weekday and it was pretty empty and quiet which I appreciated but it filled up quickly. Thoughtfully crafted, and beautifully presented, each drink feels like a small work of art. The service was very attentive and the drinks were good! I would love to return to try more drinks on their menu. read more
(Overall: A+) - Angel's Share topped my charts for inspiringly innovative cocktails -- I had such a great joy just browsing their menu as there was an endless number of fantastic options suitable to a wide range of tastes. I was thrilled when the drinks were just as impressive as the menu itself, hitting tastes buds that make me craving for me. I love that the vibes were chill and intimate, allowing us to fully admire the beauty of this dim lit bar. (Flirtibird: A) - The yuzu flavor bomb this Japanese-centered drink starts with packs such an impressive punch that sets the tone for the rest of the drink. I love the plum salt rim that added umami contrast to the sweet acidic drink, and the shiso added a background minty herbal touch. (Fool Me Once: A) - I love this sugar forward drink with pleasant primary notes of passionfruit and peach for a comforting sip. The pani puri is quite cute and paired well to add some contrastive texture, served in a sweet way. my subway hot take is angels share is better than double chicken please!!! also do u remember when angels share was a legit speakeasy tucked inside village yokocho??? anyway, now it's way easier to get into, more seating (there's a whole section in the back they eventually open up with skylight), the cocktails are better for my tastebuds the drinks: the painted paradise (shochu) cocktail was 10/10!!!! it is so light and fruity with notes of pandan, and i thought it would be milky because of the pandan but it was soooo refreshing and one of my fav cocktails i've had this year! all of the flavors here are delicate and complex - it's clear that there's a lot of artistry while watching the bartenders the space: handful of booths, a bar, and back seating. it's dimly lit and such a vibe the service: super attentive and friendly! read more
Finally got to try Angel's Share and so glad we did! We came on a Thursday around 8pm and had to wait 30 minutes before getting seated. We got two bar seats, and were so glad because watching the bartenders make all the drinks is awesome. Our bartender was super friendly and constantly refilled our waters. I tried the Krazy Kat and got an espresso martini for my second drink. Both were absolutely delicious. I would definitely come back again and try some of their Japanese food bites. read more

Fantastic speakeasy in west village with complex cocktail concoctions. I especially loved the creamier egg-white cocktails that they had! - Fever: 10/10 (probably the best cocktail that we got. Loved that you could taste the subtle hint of parmigiana in the foam!) - Street scene: 9/10 (very interesting cocktail with matcha foam. The green matcha taste could be a throw off for some though.) - Cheek to cheek: 10/10 (great egg white cocktail) Vibes were amazing. Note though that if you are a party of 3+ the wait time might be super long (most of the tables are for parties of 2). Also note that you physically have to be in line (no writing down phone numbers and waiting someplace else). read more
They don't take reservations, only walk-ins where you are put on a waitlist. They do not limit the time you have at your table so you are only given an estimate of how long to wait. The drinks are quite expensive (20-25) but overall pretty interesting and tasty. Really good drinks. The fever cocktail was so interesting and tasted so good. The krazy kat was good but had way too much lemon. We waited outside like 30 minutes but it wasn't too bad. Service was also really good. Loved the ambiance as well. read more

Am amazing experience! A cocktail bar like very few. With a non-descript entrance it would be easy to pass by and miss this location. Dimly lit classy location with an excellent selection of unique and approachable drinks. Guilty is my favorite of all the favorites. Food selection is light, but we tried the fried squid legs and we're light and airy. Be prepared to wait or arrive early. read more

My friend and I walked in around 8ish on a Tuesday night and we only had to wait about like 20 minutes to get seated. I loved the darker ambiance with comfier booth seats + bar seats. The server seated us and told us where the bathroom was, which was good to know beforehand. Even the menu was really pretty and was good to have as a prop when taking pics of the cocktails. The lighting was just the right amount to take pics of the decoration behind the bar + the drinks using night mode! I loved how extensive the menu was, organized based on their hard liquor base (gin/tequila/vodka/etc). There were so many unique cocktails with the touch of Japanese flavors/fruits which we loved! It doesn't get too loud so you can hear each other well. The table behind us was being really loud and it was bothering us, but before we had to say anything a waitress came to ask them to lower their volume which we appreciated b/c it was affecting our experience and the vibe of the place.
