I enjoyed the vibe and atmosphere of Angels, there was lots of parking available and everyone seemed very friendly. But, the food was very slow to come out. It was about one order being called every 5 minutes, which didn't make sense since there were so many people in the kitchen. We waited quite a while to get our food. The portions were huge, with a very strong charred/smokey flavor- i'll admit not my favorite but that's just a personal preference. There is not much seating, but since everyone was friendly we sat at someone else's table to have a quick bite before taking off. Rating 7/10. I would come back again but probably not going out of my way for it. read more

Fresh tortillas made by hand on the spot, awesome Al pastor freshly cooked, so tinder and good!!! They have plenty of other meats but I come for the Al pastor when I'm visiting pops in Santa Ana or the other location in Hollywood. Service is second to none, you get kind employees ready to serve and always willing to explain in English if someone doesn't understand Spanish. The ambiance at the store location is comfortable, you order outsides and they have a tent covered area nicely lit for us to eat, a the Hollywood location they have the same experience but it's on a sidewalk not a store fronts I've enjoyed both experiences. Visited on a Friday around 8pm, was expecting a long wait time to order because of the hype this place has gotten since it opened but surprisingly the line wasn't too long and we got the order window in under 15 minutes. The employees are efficient and the line moves quickly, we also didn't wait long for our order after we ordered, probably another 10 minutes. We ordered pastor, asada, and cabeza tacos and a burrito con queso/pastor. Decided to do the bottled drinks instead of the aguas Fresca which are a bit pricey for the size of the cup $6, imo. You can't also serve yourself onions/jalapeños, extra utensils by the pickup window. The tacos themselves already come with salsa on them but our order came with two extra salsas (red/green). There are a few tables over a canopy that are available to sit at if you want to eat there. We didn't have trouble finding a spot to sit, at the time we came. Like other reviews mentioned, the tortilla is thinner so if you order the pastor be mindful it's going to be messy/going to fall apart bc of the extra sauce from the carne and how they cook it it's more greasy. I do hope they change to a thicker tortilla at some point. My friend also really liked the cabeza tacos and said they'd go back just for that. The burrito (not pictured because we took it to go) imo a great price for the size, even if you're really hungry I think it would be hard to finish in one sitting. I probably would not order the queso burrito again and just get the normal one because the queso is burned into the tortilla, not my fav. All in all we would definitely return again. :) read more

This Angel's location is for their taco truck which is parked on Birch Street in Santa Ana on most nights. Birch street is also home to at least a half dozen other food trucks who canabalize each other for business. I've been to Angel's twice now lured in by their social media videos and the positive reviews at their LA locations. However, I've been severely underwhelmed both times. You think it would be pretty good since they use handmade tortillas and their al pastor is cooked on a trumpo. They are supposedly best known for the al pastor but the flavors just didn't hit. And the meat didn't have that slight char and crispy edges that you are look for with flame cooked meat. Most recently I got a burrito. For the hefty price of $14.50 you get a heavy brick of a thing but sadly its mostly stuffed with average rice and beans. And the aforementioned al pastor is not good enough to save the burrito. read more

Another Overhyped place. I don't know if it goes downhill bc it can't keep up with the attention it gets or what. No line and just after 11am so it was a perfect time. I got one al pastor and 2 asada. The Al pastor is fire with a piece of pineapple but the tortilla can't handle the meat or juice so it broke apart. Ehh...thought this place would hit. Another disappointment. Ordered different meat , being my first time. Always skeptical. But lines were long. Thought I'd give it a try. You all say food tastes better when hungry, well that's not true at all. The meats were in between bland and weird flavor... idk how to describe the taste but did not hit at all. The add ons are left out .. didn't see any flies but too many hands grabbing the tongs , and people eat like that without washing their hands. The prices are high for food with bad taste. I ordered a taco de cabeza which I ate before this video was so delicious meat was nice and tender I had the guac and salsa on the side because the meat was the star of the show with only one tortilla and cilantro and onion. In this video I tried the Al pastor and the Smokey flavor finishing with the pineapple and the meat was not dry was perfect! Carne asada is usually a hit or miss in Santa Ana but def not here once again not dry and the charred from the grill gave it that smoky flavor and the yellow corn tortillas reminded a lot of when I had tacos in Tijuana just gave the Tijuana style authenticity! I've seen people have it with guacamole but I would say don't drown out the meat and it's flavor so get it on the side instead and add to your liking you've gotta give the meats it's limelight trust me it's the star of the show! read more

No seating have to eat in your car.i ordered aqua fresco passion fruit mango it looked good. And nacho de el pastor. The drink was bomb great taste and leaving taste for more. Very good tacos! The tortillas made them extra delicious! It is a bit overprice but with this economy what isn't? you place your order in the window furthest Fairview. I was a bit confused and was at the pick up window first. Parking is packed but there's a lot of parking. Lines can get long but they give you the food fairly quickly. They have a salsa bar but the containers are so tiny. They have pickled onion, jalapeños, cucumbers and radish in the salsa bar. When I went they only had three types of salsa. The tacos came with everything including salsa and guacamole. Overall great food! read more

Grabbed dinner to go here on a Sunday night. It was pretty dead at all the trucks so no long wait or anything. Ordered our food (they accept card, cash and Venmo) and it was ready in 5 mins. We got 3 tacos (carne asada and al pastor), 3 vampiros(carne asada) and a carne asada torta. The tacos were all very good and you actually get a lot of meat, no salsa needed, they are super flavorful already. The vampiros were super good. I definitely underestimated the size and as a light eater, just one was enough to make me super full. My husband had to eat the other two for me so he only took one bite of his torta but said it was really good. I would say the vampiro was about the size of 3 of the regular tacos, the fixings were generous. Overall, very solid spot and everything was done right. read more

Omg I found heaven on wheels. We happened to be in the neighborhood, and my husband had heard about this taco truck from instagram. So we went on a mission to find it. When we got there, it was like a fat girl's heaven, food trucks galore. It took everything in me to say no I won't hit up every food truck even tho I really wanted to. The food was delicious. And they have keto options which is great! The area looked a little sketch cuz it was so hidden but there were tones of food trucks and people so it wasn't so bad. They made our food quickly. I've been wanting to try Angels for so long but all their locations are in LA and that's farrr lol. When I heard they opened one in OC I rushed over there. We got their regular tacos to check the pedigree and they passed with flying colors. They're the bigger size tacos and they come on fresh tortillas. They're stacked with meat. We also got the torta which was bomb but my favorite were the vampiro tacos. So fire. This is definitely our new go to taco truck in the area. Just okay. Priced too high for what you get. Gets mushy and some of the carne asada meat had a little uncooked areas.

The amount of meat you get on the tacos is good hand made tortillas the salsas are good the burritos are well served, they're cooked al carbon so just a little price and the horchata water is ok since is from a machine. I will give them 5 stars but due of one small issue the hand made tortillas they're way to thin the taco gets very soggy as well with the burrito rips easily even if you eat there or to go otherwise I'll give them 5 read more
