Al Pastor Burrito split in half
    Peter P.

This Angel's location is for their taco truck which is parked on Birch Street in Santa Ana on most nights. Birch street is also home to at least a half dozen other food trucks who canabalize each other for business. I've been to Angel's twice now lured in by their social media videos and the positive reviews at their LA locations. However, I've been severely underwhelmed both times. You think it would be pretty good since they use handmade tortillas and their al pastor is cooked on a trumpo. They are supposedly best known for the al pastor but the flavors just didn't hit. And the meat didn't have that slight char and crispy edges that you are look for with flame cooked meat. Most recently I got a burrito. For the hefty price of $14.50 you get a heavy brick of a thing but sadly its mostly stuffed with average rice and beans. And the aforementioned al pastor is not good enough to save the burrito.

One chicken quesotaco, one Al pastor regular

3.5/5 $9 for two tacos Made an adult female full, but not grossly full The package wasn't that heavy when the chick gave me the box so I was like, "hmmm.." ================= Chicken quesotaco Good amount of cheese, chicken was cut into large chunks that had decent flavor and weren't dry. Char on the outside was nice. Prolly preferred this over the al pastor Al pastor No pineapple ?? On this one and I wish they didn't drench it in green sauce. Not bad, it was tender and had flavor, but I've had better elsewhere. The worker said this is their most popular. Corn tortillas Are thicc and held up the taco despite the sauce amount They accept Apple Pay (including Amex) They carry grilled jalepeno + onions which were still warm Pickled onion and habanero also available Didn't see other salsas available I'd come back to try their cabeza and quesadilla!! But ask for sauce on the side Service was friendly and they confirmed order before placing it. Got my food in under 5min

Another Overhyped place. I don't know if it goes downhill bc it can't keep up with the attention it gets or what. No line and just after 11am so it was a perfect time. I got one al pastor and 2 asada. The Al pastor is fire with a piece of pineapple but the tortilla can't handle the meat or juice so it broke apart. Price is a little outrageous for the size and portion.

Ehh...thought this place would hit. Another disappointment. Ordered different meat , being my first time. Always skeptical. But lines were long. Thought I'd give it a try. You all say food tastes better when hungry, well that's not true at all. The meats were in between bland and weird flavor... idk how to describe the taste but did not hit at all. The add ons are left out .. didn't see any flies but too many hands grabbing the tongs , and people eat like that without washing their hands. The prices are high for food with bad taste. But I think people are used to eating like "animals" no offense. Just not for me sorry. They charge for a water cup too, which was also a loss... I took my place next door to the Chinese restaurant...

Job transfer to Santa Ana. I going to start trying places new my work. I wanted taco, nacho. Yelped this place. It's a little small place, outdoor with walk up windows. No seating have to eat in your car.i ordered aqua fresco passion fruit mango it looked good. And nacho de el pastor. The drink was bomb great taste and leaving taste for more. The nachos were so good very flavorful and lots of meat. Came with everything. I will be back to try more items on menu. Hot day will be back just for the aqua Fresca!!!!

Grabbed dinner to go here on a Sunday night. It was pretty dead at all the trucks so no long wait or anything. Ordered our food (they accept card, cash and Venmo) and it was ready in 5 mins. We got 3 tacos (carne asada and al pastor), 3 vampiros(carne asada) and a carne asada torta. The tacos were all very good and you actually get a lot of meat, no salsa needed, they are super flavorful already. The vampiros were super good. I definitely underestimated the size and as a light eater, just one was enough to make me super full. My husband had to eat the other two for me so he only took one bite of his torta but said it was really good. I would say the vampiro was about the size of 3 of the regular tacos, the fixings were generous. Overall, very solid spot and everything was done right.

I've been wanting to try Angels for so long but all their locations are in LA and that's farrr lol. When I heard they opened one in OC I rushed over there. We got their regular tacos to check the pedigree and they passed with flying colors. They're the bigger size tacos and they come on fresh tortillas. They're stacked with meat. We also got the torta which was bomb but my favorite were the vampiro tacos. So fire. This is definitely our new go to taco truck in the area. My girl and son already proclaimed them their favorite ever. We went back twice same night.

just a sidenote, but this location is much busier than it's Anaheim counterpart waited in line and ordered the whole thing. Maybe took an hour but it was definitely worth it. Food quality was excellent despite the long line.

Angel's Potato with Carne Asada - so good! It's loaded and comes with corn tortillas!! $16

Their salads are delicious, and the quesadillas? Chef's kiss. I'm actually really picky about quesadillas because, for some reason, the cheese at a lot of places messes with my stomach. But whatever they're using here agrees with me perfectly. Honestly... not even a 1,000/10. If you haven't tried this spot yet, you're missing out.

There's plenty of indoor seating and some outdoor seating as well. Food came relatively quickly as well for all of us, and drinks came out right away. Wait was maybe 5-10 minutes but all the food was freshly made! FOOD: They don't have too big of a menu, but that's not bad. I tried the carne asada, el pastor, and the mushroom tacos + queso tacos. The tacos were a lot bigger than larger tacos, coming at roughly $4 per taco. I would recommend the queso tacos because i LOVE cheese but the regular tacos are good. The quesadillas were very filling and there was a lot to them as well if you want something that'll fill you up more than a taco. SERVICE: Service was good. Everyone who helped us was very nice. PARKING: There is street parking and parking lots around the area for you to walk in--all of which are paid parking. You can use an app for the lots or use coins for the street parking. I've gone here during the day and night and I haven't had any issues with parking at all. INTERIOR: The interior is very simple: warm tones with benches. If you have a big party, you most likely will have to split up between multiple tables. For us, a party of 10, we divided it between 4 and 6, though the 6 was a tight fit. BATHROOM: Clean. Nothing crazy when I went there. I'm pretty sure you can use the bathroom too even if you don't buy anything. LOCATION: This place is in downtown Santa Ana, so there are a lot of shops for you to look around, eat at, or shop at if you go during the day. Very fun to eat tacos here and then go on a walk afterwards :)) TLDR: A very good taco spot to go eat if you want good tacos. They're open till 10pm weekdays and midnight on weekends as well. Decent variety that's fresh and very flavorful

The burrito was solid sized, I was definitely full after eating it. Great seasoned potato wedges inside, tasty egg, and plenty of bacon and sausage. Only thing with the bacon and sausage was that the bacon was actually bacon bits. I'm pretty sure they are pre bagged bacon bits, judging by the extreme salty taste...they overpowered the sausage inside so all I was really getting was bacon bits. There was supposed to be chipotle mayo inside as well, but I don't think mine had it. Or it was also overpowered by the bacon bits. Burrito was grilled on both sides and wrapped up nicely. By the time I got it, it was still super hot. The green and red salsas are also delicious.
