I tried the new $10.99 protein bowl and was a bit disappointed. The portion included a hamburger-sized piece of meatloaf, a very small amount of avocado, a little broccoli, and lots of brown rice. The flavors were decent, but the bowl was served lukewarm to cold, which really took away from the experience. Finally tried Angie's Lobster after wanting to check it out since they opened. I made the trek across town, hoping for a quick and satisfying lobster fix--but left with mixed feelings. First off, there's no dine-in space at all. Not a single table. Just a bus stop out front if you want to sit, which was a surprise and a bit of a letdown. Maybe that's part of how they keep costs low? Ordering was also a bit frustrating. There's no counter service--just a QR code to order on your phone or a drive-thru. I chose the QR code, which was probably a mistake. It prompted me to tip 15%, which felt odd since there's no table service or real interaction until your name is called. I placed my order at 8:52 PM and was told it would be ready at 8:57 PM. I ended up standing there until 9:19 PM, watching at least six cars cruise through the drive-thru and get their food ahead of me--even though I had ordered first. Definitely annoying. If you go, use the drive-thru unless you want to stand around for a while. Now, the food: I got the chilled lobster roll with plain butter. For $13, you get a roll, fries, and a drink--which is an incredible price for lobster. The roll itself was smaller than I expected, but the bread was soft and warm, and the lobster was decent. Plain shredded meat, no frills--exactly what I was hoping for. The butter helped a lot. The fries were good too, though I wasn't wild about the dipping sauce (kind of like an Old Bay mayo). All in all, the food matches the price: solid, simple, and affordable. Is it worth a 45-minute drive? Probably not. Loved this spot, we had a Lobster roll and a Snow Crab roll. I want to try the Scallop roll next. The Snow Crab roll was so good the meat was sweet and cooked or reheated perfectly, I wish I could get my Crab to taste that good at home. They do provide butter packets for those who don't want all the butter, which is nice. The lobster roll was good, but not as much lobster as you can get from the amazing guy from Maine at the farmers market. I love the way they have the ordering setup it is so smart, all drive-thru should implement this. Chick-Fil-A kind of does this but they use employees (which is good for jobs). Angie's Lobster ranks a 3.5 stars for me. This is drive thru or walk-up only and they do not have any seating at all. The drive-thru has a long line and is a bit of a mess with the two lanes and one window to order/pay. We saw some people cut the line when they entered from the Broadway entrance. If you park and order at the service counter be mindful of where you park or you might get stuck waiting to get out from the drive-thru traffic. Cost: Prices are pretty affordable for seafood. They do not offer receipts, straws, and will not accept a cash payment. I can get behind the environmental and low cost aspect, however I know some people might need to get a receipt when on business travel. Food: I enjoyed the warm lobster roll, but it did have some shell in it and you pretty much have to eat it in your car or it won't make a long drive home before going cold. The fried scallops were fairly small and just okay. The butter packet that came with the roll was solid and cold, but the French fries were good. Service & Ambiance: I can't say much for the customer service as they do not really have much time with the constant line and did not speak when they handed the food through the drive-thru window. It would be really nice if they added some outdoor seating for everyone that waits for an order and to eat at. I was looking forward to coming to Angie's since they made their debut. The set-up is similar to Dutch Bros, which centers on a drive-thru and a window for ordering as a walk-up. There was no sitting area, so we ate our food where we parked. I like the no-frills approach to keep costs down right down to the strawless lids, which also prevents waste. Have used the drive through both times I visited. Clear signs, minimal lines and prompt service. Got the Asian salad with falafel. Very tasty and fresh. I also tried the pineapple drink, also good. I agree with a previous Yelper. Didn't see what all the hype was about. Frankly, I was disappointed. Ordered 1 warm lobster roll, 1 junior cod sandwich meal and 1 spicy honey fried cod sandwich meal. I had the spicy honey, not sure if they forgot the spice which makes it spicy or that's the way it's served. It was not spicy at all, (fries were good). Everything is in a bag so make sure you check before you drive away. Our Junior fried cod meal had no fries, ( see photo). This is a newly built location, I was surprised at the filth outside. I noticed when the server gave us our bag of food her gloves were extremely dirty from grease. This is only my opinion and does not seem to be in line with previous reviews. Finally I have chance to try this one, I stop by to buy food for dinner. I chose the drive-thru because it was cold. It was around 12 cars ahead of me when I got there. The whole process from waiting in line until I got the food is very reasonable (less than 20 minutes) Once you finish ordering, we need to pay with either credit card or mobile pay. No cash accepted. I've been waiting for this day for a long time! I'm a big fan of Angie's Lobster and make it a point to stop by almost every time I'm in the Phoenix area. Now, with a location conveniently in East Tucson, I couldn't be more thrilled. I made it on the second day of their opening and was lucky enough to be second in line. Ordering was super easy with the touchpad or by scanning the QR code posted on the side of the building. The value here is unbeatable--you can get a combo with a warm lobster roll, fries, and a cold brew for just $13.99! Anywhere else, I'd be paying at least double for the same quality. My friends have been excited about new place. I don't think they have done it yet, but I was near there at lunch time so I braved it. I went through the drive through. Only about 4 cars before me in line. Not too bad. The line progressed rather quickly. Unlike the Angie's Grill on the other side of town, the parking/drive through is much better organized. There are a few things I want to try, but I decided on a warm lobster roll meal. It came with butter and another sauce. I tried both and liked both for different flavors. I was surprised the roll looked so small compared to what I got on the east coast during the summer. But with the fries, it was filling enough. The fries were ok. The flavor/texture was nothing special. They needed more salt. Will have to ask about the next time. I actually didn't even finish the fries. All drive throughs put the drink straws in the bag. I didn't check before I pulled away, so that is on me. I don't know if this was a one off or they do not hand out straws. Since there is no place to sit, you are going to be in the car and straws are a must. Which brings me to the sitting area. There is none. I get it they are trying to reduce fixed costs, but this type of food is not conducive of eating while driving. I ended up pulling over to a parking lot of another establishment to eat in the car. There was a LOT of hype for this fast food vendor entering Tucson, so what's the hype? Recommend: At this point, either way for me; it's just not a hard yes. It's not fast food, timeline wise, which might be because of it's newness at the moment. But be prepared to certainly wait a while for your food. Visited Angie's upon first opening, a bit surprised to see the lack of a sit down area, not even any outdoor seating, nothing. I witnessed people tripping on the harsh curb in the front area multiple times and a couple of elderly individuals had some challenges with no place to sit while they waited. The drive through was backed up to the main road which caused numerous driving restrictions which only adds to the less than perfect location for this restaurant. It's just squeezed into a spot that's difficult to get too, with near absent parking and high congestion. The exit 'drive through' doesn't have the best departure framing back onto the main road either. The overall placement and traffic flow are easily not the best setup - so need to be super cautious around this building! As far as fast food is concerned; it's not. Maybe that'll change once the newness dies down a bit but it was nothing short of 35 minutes to get a few ounces of lobster pieces on a bun with fries. There is a Q-Code kiosk to order your food and one 'menu' visible as a stand to overview the menu. Taste: Honestly, it's didn't taste 'fresh', in reality it was a bit too chewy which surprised me overall. Not much of a taste without the added butter packet but the flavor packet you do get and the butter make it more enjoyable. The fries were good for sure. Overall, not uniquely impressed compared to the hype that's been going on, and the chewy-ness of it was not entirely appealing to me. I will certainly go back, as new restaurant ALWAYS need to enhance and work out the kinks per se so I would certainly encourage anyone to try it as it might've been just that day. Two small notes; the extremely cramped inside work space for the employees was alarmingly tight but every and I mean EVERY person working inside were cheery, smiling and eager to get the mass amount of orders out. KUDOS to the Angie Team! The other is that with the incredible amount of traffic EVERYWHERE, it would be better if they installed a loudspeaker to announce who's 'number' is ready for pickup. The individual yelling out the customer's number really does not work well and customers were clearly struggling to hear said employee announce which order was ready by speaking out of a 'drive through' window essentially to a parking lot filled with people and cars driving by on a main road. This really would help the place out if they Business would upgrade to this! TBD in reality but pennies shy of $19.00 for a few ounces of hot lobster, fries and a drink, just doesn't appeal to me for the price point. Ordered ahead and had the Fried Lobster Tail Sandwich Meal with Lemonade and Sausage Egg and Cheese Meal with Cold Brew ready when I arrived. The drive through was clear so I rolled up to the speaker and was told to drive right up to the window where they handed me the meals and I was on my way. The Lobster Tail was too salty, but the sauce packet helped tone it down. The Sausage Egg and Cheese was pretty tasty as is and the seasoned fries were hot and flavorful. As lobster and crab lovers, we've been eagerly anticipating the opening of Angie's Lobster. However, we decided to wait until the lines no longer snaked through the parking lot all the way to Broadway. Today was the day! I arrived at the drive through shortly after noon on Tuesday. Only one car ahead, which gave me just a moment to scan the menu. Too quickly, lol, it was my turn, so I didn't have time to choose between lobster, crab, shrimp, or scallops. The hub was waiting at home, so I made the executive decision to go with two lobster rolls, one with spicy butter and one with garlic. The disembodied voice asked over the speaker if those were meals. I said one a meal, the other a sandwich. I was so thirsty I NEEDED a Diet Coke, and I was sure there would be enough fries to share with one meal. I had seen the sign explaining that they do not take cash; cards only. Then the voice instructed me to insert or scan my card for payment. The card machine is tiny and unnoticeable, but I figured it out. It is set against the building and is far enough that I had to release my seatbelt to reach it; so I did and it worked. Inconvenient but I'll live. When I reached the window my food was already waiting for me. That is quick service! I accepted my Diet Coke gratefully but it had no straw. The no-longer-disembodied voice said they don't have straws so their cups have a drinking hole. I totally approve that decision. I loaded my food bag into my car and took off to home. Well, on to the food. The lobster was stuffed into the customary top-cut buns and there was a decent amount of meat. But it was bland bland bland. The lobster was wet as though it had been sitting in chilled water while it waited to be needed. Poaching it in seasoned butter would have made a huge difference. I did like the tangy sauce that was included, but it should have been gilding the lily rather than providing the only flavor. The hub said it was chewy. I hadn't taken a bite yet, so queried whether he was talking about the bun or the lobster. He said both. I picked up mine and noticed that the ends of the bun were kind of hard, like bread that is microwaved or left out in the air too long. I wouldn't call my lobster chewy, but it didn't have the sweet tenderness that I am used to with steak and lobster at our favorite steak house. The fries were also unseasoned. Fries should be salted immediately after removing from the fryer. These obviously weren't. Sadly, we discarded more than we ate. The hub ate about half his sandwich. I ate all my lobster but left must of the bun. Together we ate less than half of the fries. I toyed with adding a pic of what we didn't eat, but decided that would be adding insult to injury. But not much lunch to enjoy for $23 and change. I do hope Angie's does well, but she will have to do well without me. So disappointed. read more

We did the walk-up option. No one is available to take your order - you use the single kiosk, then wait until the window opens and they call your name. Nowhere to sit and wait or eat, and no dine in option, which perplexed a few people who walked up while we were waiting for our order and who ultimately left. Tried three different sandwiches with my husband. We've had plenty of lobster over our lifetime and found the warm lobster roll to be a little fishier than most, with very little lobster flavor. Spicy butter comes in a packet - be sure to mix it well because the butter without the spices has zero flavor, which was disappointing (but if you mix the spicy butter well, it's a good flavor addition). Scallops were a nice size and tender with light breading. The Mexican Colassal shrimp filled the bun with only four. We ordered hot honey shrimp, but the breading was dry and not a hint of hot or honey to be found. Lastly, we were disappointed to see that there were no options for warm crab, only chilled. I've been going to Angie's lobster in Phoenix so it was exciting when I learned a location was coming to Tucson. Today was my first visit. My experience is just like Phoenix. I ordered the hot lobster roll à la carte with a drink. You don't interact with staff until they hand your food to you. So you order at a speaker and then pay a kiosk/ tap. Drive up to the only window and pick up your food. No dining room just order get your food and leave. It appears this location has a walk up window. The food is OK. Usually I get fries and I didn't today. Efficient good model. It's so fun. My lobster roll was $11.99. The Tucson location has far more of a menu selection than the stores in Phoenix; they have scallop roll, crab, lobster, and shrimp. Pretty exciting. read more

The lobster portion is good for the price and also the texture and taste. The butter packet provided is a perfect amount for the sandwich. I want to tell you about Angis Grill! It is so yummy, they take credit cards & drive through or walk-up window only, but the food is FRESH and delicious! They also have a refreshing energy drink that I LOVE!!! The place is so reasonably priced, I don't know how they do it. I ordered two entrees, an appetizer and my drink $16! So much food, we both had leftovers. I've eaten there four times now and I LOVE it!!!! You have to look at the menu, a sure bet is the bowl with your choice of meat and I usually order it Greek style, but there are a LOT of options. Friend and I were excited to try this place, Friend is from Cape Cod and I lived in Boston for a few years. We thought this would be a great concept for Tucson, the City of Gastronomy, and were really hungry for a good lobster roll. We walked up to order. The screen from which one orders was dirty and with the sunlight, very difficult to read. We had to really push hard on the screen for it to accept our orders. There was a lot of confusion because the screen wasn't user friendly. There was no way to review our order or to know if what we ordered for drinks had registered. We waited a few minutes, got our paper bags of food, some napkins and left. We asked if they had gotten our correct drinks and was told that yes, they had. There is room for some benches (for the walk up orders) along the side of the building, but there were none. So we sat in the car to eat. The warm lobster roll was disappointing. Very little flavor and with it being warm, there should have been more. The french fries were really good, especially with the Angie sauce on them. There was also a small packet of butter which was very messy to use. There was a couple next to us, sitting on the tailgate of their truck, eating. I asked them what they thought of the food. The guy was from the east coast and said it was okay, a 3 out of 5; it wouldn't do well back east. We concurred. The best thing we ate was the french fries. There are no trash cans either. There was a lot of walk up business with people sitting in their vehicles to eat. I didn't appreciate having to cart my trash home. So, Angie's needs to add some benches for the walk up business, and some trash cans. And check their source for their lobster. For "wild caught" it was sadly lacking. We won't go back. read more

I drove up to this place and boom I hit a long line of cars that extended into the street. There was also a large gathering of people at the walk up order window. Heck Santa Claus was even sitting in front on a lawn chair eating a sandwich. So instead of giving up I stayed in line waiting my turn to order. I waited and waited I maybe moved 10 feet. I said heck with it I parked my truck and walked up to order window. The window has a do it yourself order screen and payment card slider. I used it to order and pay. It was simple and quick. I got my order in 10 to 15 min and it was allot quicker than sitting in your car to reach the order board. Also at the window you will find a QRC code where you can use your phone to order and pay. I ordered the warm lobster roll and spicy honey fried shrimp roll. The lobster roll had good flavor and the bun held together. The honey fried roll was not to my liking and I passed on it. It's been exciting to watch the building go up and it's cool that there are two locations! I went with the cold lobster roll for my first go around and was not disappointed. Walk up kiosk orders seem to be going faster than the QR orders when waiting at the window. Anxiety awaits the warm lobster roll. There is no dine in walk up and drive through only. I'd heard about it before and planned to hit the one in Phoenix next time I was up there, so it's nice there is one next to my house. I went on December 23. Pro Tip: If you arrive when they open at 10:30 AM there are only a few cars in line. See the enclosed picture. I got the cold lobster roll a la carte and the warm lobster roll combo which includes fries and a drink. The price was $26.07 after tax. The warm lobster was pretty good. They give you two butter pouches which is more then enough. Not the best lobster I've ever had but it's a good value at $9.99. The cold one was just OK. I added the sauce packet to it (butter and herbs) which kicked it up a step, but in the future I'll probably just stick with the warm roll. The fries were regular fries and the drink is small but, again, it's a good value at $2 extra for the pair. A couple of nit-picky things on execution. The a la carte roll came in a styrofoam container (think hot dog) and was fine. The combo comes in a square paper bowl without any kind of cover. The put the sauce packets on top of the fries so they were very greasy and hard to open. They also put the styrofoam container on top of everything so the bottom that touched the counter is touching your food under it. They really need a closed box for combos, there's no reason not to. No ketchup? Makes me kind of wonder if one of the execs is overthinking things. I used the 3rd sauce pack which was just like Big Mac sauce and dipped my fries in that. Not bad. But...no ketchup? The drink could be bigger. It only costs pennies to do that. The warm roll is not suitable for eating in cars unless you want a greasy steering wheel and the potential for a piece of buttery lobster rolling down your shirt. There are no places to sit, either, so it's either stand, car, or wait until you get home. I'd recommend waiting. You have to stop and order at the speaker which is just under the drive-thru canopy. I was first in line and blew past it since it's kind of small. Rookie mistake. The staff went ahead and took my order at the pick up window. Despite the criticism, I still liked the place. It's nice to be able to pick up a warm lobster roll for $10 at Broadway and Wilmot. The staff is really friendly, building is brand new. I'll go back in the future. read more

For the price you can't really beat their lobster rolls. The fried cod is decent too. I'm not a huge fan of the fries (they're kinda bland), but they come with the fried cod meal. Having tried them out in Phoenix I am really glad this chain made it down to Tucson. read more

I haven't left a review in a long time but this place has me shocked. I was one of the first customers to arrive on opening day... the service was truly fantastic (props for holding it together on opening day!) and the food was a great value for the price. The service was surprisingly streamlined and I appreciated the fair values on the things that should not be crazy expensive like drinks. No complaints on opening day. Honestly, I was impressed and spread the word. It's really impressive to have it so well put together at 10:30 am on the first day. Since then I heard various reviews of the place and it didn't seem like my experience at all, so I went back and took my partner. I was really excited to show him what this place was, I knew I wouldn't be getting the same $30 lobster rolls as a fancy restaurant or like in Maine but I was going to be happy with it for what it is meant to be, a cheap and fast alternative. When we got there I thought it was strange there was no line considering how long the lines had been for a while since opening day. I also noticed the menu and how the lobster rolls were served option-wise had changed considerably. Sadly, it was really not good at all. Getting ice cold lobster with a little warmed plastic packet of butter really was off putting. The fries tasted cold, hard, stale. I wouldn't want to eat those fries even if they were free. I hope they consider going back to how it was when they opened. I don't plan on coming back unless I hear it turns around. Wasn't worth it even for a low price point. The employees this time around also seemed less interested and friendly than they did, which I get but it's not doing the business any favors. After so much rave decided to give it a try. Food was disgusting, dine-in area dirty and gross bathroom. Lobster "roll" was a soggy, somewhat grilled folded in half Texas Toast, sorry but that is not a roll, and very little lobster. The fries were ok. Service was slow, maybe short staffed, but it's mostly a self serve place. I will not be returning. read more
