Beyond Bread is a Tucson staple that I grew up on and still love just as much as I did when I was a kid, if not more. I've been here at least 100 times and usually get the exact same thing: a plain Jane on white with turkey, mayo, provolone, avocado, and lettuce with kettle chips as the side. I also get a cannoli when they still have some. The food is always amazing! It is single-handedly the best bread and sandwich I've had anywhere and I get it every time I visit Tucson now that I've moved. The bread is so good that buy a large loaf and take it home with me to make sandwiches with. The people who work here are super sweet and friendly. They work quickly even when they're completely packed. I've never once had a problem with my order being incorrect or how I've been treated there. It has only ever been a positive experience. The restaurant itself is lovely. There is a good amount of seating but sometimes you do have to troll for a seat when it's really busy. The space is clean and easy to move around. The bathrooms are also clean and are kept well-stocked. The parking in the shopping center is difficult but that's because both Beyond Bread and Bookmans share the parking lot so there are just a lot of people there in general. Most come for the sandwiches and soups, but you can get, pastries, cakes, fresh baked bread, cookies etc. My family loves this place, and we've never had a bad sandwich here. The portions ares huge, younger me could have finished everything, sadly now I eat half and take the other half home. The service is always welcoming which is always a plus. It can get very busy at lunch rush, but the line moves fairly quickly. They do offer both patio and indoor seating so finding a table isn't too bad as it's self seating. This is hard to write, I have been a loyal customer since this location opened. During Covid we ate there 2x a week to support local biz. Today was this last time they receive my money. 4 of the last 5 times the order has been wrong! Not a little by a lot!!! Et tu brute ( chicken Caesar) sent out (to go order) without chicken. Today they put spoiled alfalfa sprouts on salad and wrong lettuce. Called manager (Jordan) to tell about the issues and he flat called me a liar, " It's impossible for you to receive spoiled food, we get our ingredients fresh everyday". He did offer to refund my purchase, I told him to keep it as it's the last dollar they will receive from me. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Hold your employees to a standard, your customers will appreciate and be loyal. To the owners of Beyond Bread, it's been a great run but I'm not coming back if you can't get your staff to expedite orders correctly and your management team learns to NOT call customers liars. I entered an online order. When I arrived the curbside pickup parking spots were taken by folx dining in. I called and got hung up on twice. On the third time, I was able to get my order. When checking my order, an item was missing. I called 5 times and 2 times I got an answer and then got hung up on; when I was able to speak with someone at Beyond Bread, I was told that they were busy and that the item missing from me order was void and that I should have been told. 1st-- Nobody in the country matches KATZ's Deli in NYC for a Pastrami Sandwich, however, moving forward... I decided to give 'um a try since it was their 'special' this month. $22.26 Pastrami on Rye, Swiss, Pickles & Russian Dressing grilled. Cole Slaw & Med D. Dr. Pepper. B4 you try to have the Cole Slaw, you must mix it in it's plastic portioned container. All the mix sinks, so you'll get nothing but 'dry' cabbage etc.. The sandwich is an 'okay' portion of meat, but not lean by any stretch. The bread is outstanding. The inside is clean well played out & quite a selection of not only breads of all kinds, but pastries that look anything but Low-Cal LOL-- Drink station, condiments etc was so nice & clean. Service was GREAT @ the "Place Order Here". Was fast on delivery of order as well. But, I'd pay $20+ for a bigger, leaner sandwich than what I got. Ambiance/Cleanliness-It's a busy working bakery cafe...has some well chosen colors/furniture and lighting. It shows thoughtfulness and attention to detail. Beyond Bread is such a Tucson staple when it comes to great sandwiches. I tried the Molly's Crisis for the first time and it was a great summer choice. The sandwich was packed full of delicious turkey and for $13 it's a great deal!! I was even able to add onions at no additional cost. They never disappoint and are always fresh and delicious. My only complaint when it comes to Beyond Bread is that they are only open to 7pm every day which to me feels too early. read more

When ordering, pay attention to some of the menu icons - I appreciated that there was even a little tooth icon that indicated crusty bread (which indeed, my Bart's Bag sandwich with baguette was a bit harder to bite through, but very delicious!). The bakery also sells different sweet baked goods ranging from muffins to cookies to cakes. I eat here at least 3x a month, this location has my heart. Jasmine has answered the phone and taken my order a few times for me, she's thorough and patient as well as knowledgeable! If I come in to pick up, every member of the staff is equipped with a task, they are extremely personable and spite being very attentive to their orders and back of the house routines the front of house is clearly the other side to the coin that is Beyond Bread. It's an amazing network of efficiency. The management is always to be seen doing the same as their employees, they have the answers and the food is consistently dependable. Yesterday (11/11) for an early dinner, a friend and I came by, she had never been to beyond bread, she was thoroughly pleased with my suggestion for dinner. I have been here several times, but I have never had the Coconut Curry soup, it was absolutely amazing. Neither of us really care for wheat pita pocket bread so we chose another bread for our sandwich. We both had the Kalid's Kurry sandwich, totally scrumptious. We are both going to figure out the sandwich, makings here. The combo was absolutely supercalifragilisticexpialidociously delicious! My friend here as you can see has two big thumbs up and I sat there and did my little "happy dance" while eating my Coconut Curry soup. The staff at Beyond Bread on Speedway, Tucson, Arizona, hats off to everyone of them. The young ladies who waited on us, took our orders and so on, greeted us with smiles, were very polite and professional, and very helpful with our questions. I'm not a sweet-tooth and say you MUST try the magic bar (cookie with chocolate chips, walnuts, and coconut shavings layered on top). A bit of a long wait on a not-so-busy day (seemingly, anyway) but the hostess was kind and friendly. The tomato soup was nice and tastes fresh, though it came out a bit cold and I'm unsure if that is on purpose or not. It's pulpy with chunks of tomato which I enjoyed. The tuna sandwich was good, just what you might expect. And the Cordon Bleu sandwich also had a nice flavor. I liked the savory and sweet combination. The bread was a bit hard to bite on the crust and im unsure if it was because of the thickness or if it was a little stale as my partner stated, but i didnt mind it. I just broke it off and dipped into my soup. I also enjoyed the iced chai which was sweet jn a good way and actually had a good chai flavor. I ended up taking the chicken off and eating it like an avocado toast. Wife had soup $6.75 and she said it was ok. Not hot not cold. Watching other people eat their food and I didn't see anyone who finished their meal. Most went into the trash. The people sitting next to us had a cinnamon roll that looked good and gooey.
