Great location, convenient and decent parking. Huge renovation to parking lot, looks like a big gas station going in. Friendly staff, service with a smile. Diverse menu offering breakfast and lunch. Lots of omelettes, various breakfast items, burgers, sandwiches, salads, home baked cakes, pies and biscuits. I had the avocado melt burger and it was great. Burger cooked to my liking, yummy cheese and avocado on grilled French bread. French fries were delicious, like a combo of fries and homemade chips. Pricing consistent with the times. Big serving, brought half home. Did I mention great customer service?!

This place is amazing! The BEST BREAKFAST I've ever had and I've eaten at restaraunts all across the country. Staff is super friendly. Ambiance is great. Western small town vibe. Prices are very affordable. Serving sizes are MASSIVE. Angie's was so good that we came here back to back mornings on our weekend stay at Hogan Lake. HIGHLY RECOMMEND going out of your way to come here.

We tried Angie's Place and it was such a great experience! I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was amazing. It's huge -- so big that it actually comes on its own plate. It also comes with two sides, which makes it a really filling meal. Everything tasted great. The only small downside was the toast -- it was toasted a little too long and ended up being super crunchy. Other than that, all the food was delicious. The restaurant itself is decorated super cute inside, which makes it feel really welcoming. On top of that, the staff is very friendly and made the whole experience even better. Definitely a place I'd come back to!

Best chorizo, bacon, hash browns and eggs in the tri county's. It is freshly made and cooked to perfection.

We love coming here two times a month as the family that owns this are wonderful people. Great job Angie and JM!!! Food is hot and tasty and we will be back.

Chili verde omelet and raspberry crepes. Two dishes but enough food for 4!

There aren't enough ways to tell you how good Angie's Place is! We went there when it was Franks and were sad when Franks closed down. We gave Angie's a try last month and could not believe how delicious the food was and how friendly Angie and all her employees are. We tried the chili verde omelet and the raspberry crepes that were their "specials" that day. Delicious!!! Today we decided to go to Angie's again and we're NOT disappointed! Every dish we have had there is excellent, Angie makes everything from scratch and you can tell she puts a lot of care and thought into her dishes. If you haven't been there yet, you must try them out. This is our new favorite place to stop for breakfast, I have a feeling we are going to become "regulars" there. Thank you Angie for opening this wonderful place.

Great service, wonderful food, amazing portions and the prices were exceptional. The ambience was like the old gold rush days. Friendly service.

Been wanting to try since new ownership. It did not disappoint. Service was great and the food was even better. Huge( and I mean huge) portions. Everything fresh and well prepared. It's our new go to spot for breakfast

Chicken fried steak (needs its own plate), eggs Benedict, homemade biscuit and country gravy and country potatoes - absolutely delicious!

We were in need of a delicious breakfast today and Angie's Place was our first choice. It is close to home, everything is homemade, you feel like family and you will not walk out hungry! We got the chicken fried steak and eggs Benedict. The chicken fried steak needed its own plate - huge, fresh, crispy coating and homemade sausage gravy! The eggs Benedict were so yummy - the ham had great flavor and the hollandaise sauce is homemade, thick and great flavor! Their country potatoes are so creamy and the skin is crispy. You can never go wrong coming to Angie's! Thanks for the hospitality and a great place to eat in Moke Hill!

This takes me to the small community of Mokelumne Hill (which is in Calaveras County) where I got to check out "Renegade Winery". Don't let the word "winery" fool you as this place not only serves some delicious wine but is also a full-on restaurant that has some good old standard American food. Since I know this area quite well and have been to neighboring areas such as Jackson and San Andreas, finding this place wasn't too difficult. But for some, it might be a challenge. When arriving on Highway 49 (from Jackson), you have the option of making a left on Campo Seco Turnpike OR a left on Main Street. The business is directly at the corner of Main & Center St's while being across the street from the historic I.O.O.F. building which neighbors a blacksmith business. If you're into ancient structures, definitely check this place out. Going back to Renegade Winery, they offer a variety of red and whites from nearby Amador County. In addition to their wine selection, they also have beer and regular soft drinks for consumption. But the main reason why we came here was their food! This includes comfort classics such as bruschetta, a meat/cheese platter, and a few others. They also carry a nice selection of salads, wraps, sandwiches, burgers, and pizzas. Finally, I wanted to add that they even offer a brunch menu on the weekends including mimosas. My significant other and I split their pesto pasta w/garlic bread while our friends tried a quesadilla and Caesar salad. As far as the interior layout of this place, it almost has that old town saloon feel to it which is the perfect fit for the gold country. The amount of distressed wood is presented throughout while the large collection of wine bottles is quite impressive. The employees that work here definitely made us felt welcome as if we were in someone's home. I also wanted to add that the exterior seating area was equally impressive with an abundance of tables, hanging lights after the sun goes down, and even a small stage for live music. If it wasn't for the heat (it was around 100°F on 6/22/2024 at 3:45pm), we would probably eat outside. As far as our pasta, they give you huge portions and more than enough to feed 2 people comfortably. The pasta was cooked well while there was a nice amount of basil in the pesto. It wasn't over-the-top amazing that you'd find at an Italian restaurant in a big city but still quite delicious and affordable (at around $16). Even our friends' spicy quesadilla had 4 large slices that can be split between two. Considering that you get a mix of everything (winery, draft beer, and food), this place has you covered. All in all, "Renegade Winery" is a place that I highly recommend. Keep in mind that they are ONLY open for business Fri/Sat from 11:30am-8pm and Sun from 9am-4pm while being closed from Monday through Thursday. So if you're taking a trip up to Big Trees or maybe Twain Harte or even Yosemite National Park, this is a great stop with above average service and very decent prices. My rating, an above average four stars.

Comes with cheese bacon and a sunny side up fried egg on top. If you want a different style cooked egg, eg hard cooked you have to ask. We pulled up Yelp to find a good lunch spot, saw the solid reviews, and decided to give it a try. When we walked in, the atmosphere had that small-town vibe--simple, welcoming, and comfortable. The food was very good. The service wasn't polished like a Michelin star restaurant, but it didn't need to be. It was authentic and heartfelt, and sometimes that matters more. You could tell the staff cared about what they were doing. The place was busy, especially for the time of day we went, which tells you something. People come here on purpose. That says a lot. We were seated quickly, our order was taken without any issues, and the food came out in a reasonable time. When it hit the table, the portions were generous and satisfying. I wish I had taken pictures, but I was too busy enjoying the moment. If you go, post your photos--I'm sure the business would appreciate it. If you've followed my reviews, you know I don't give out 4 stars often, and 5 stars are rare. This place earned that extra star because of how it made me feel--between the food, the atmosphere, and the service, it just worked. If I'm ever back in the area, I'm definitely coming back for another meal.

I went with a sourdough loaf, their garden focaccia, and their best selling morning bun. The morning bun was delicious, and I don't even like morning pastries. Great with a coffee. The sourdough bread was as good as the reviews said they were. We made multiple sandwiches at home with them and with their house made vinaigrette (definitely order a side of this), it elevated the at-home sandwiches to another level. The garden focaccia was solid but not my favorite, it did go well with the pasta we made though. I wish they sold their sandwich focaccia bread as a standalone though. I was chatting with some other people in line and they saying how they go for their sandwiches because their vinaigrette and focaccia bread was so good, so definitely plan on ordering a sandwich next time around!
