I came upon Angie's after initially setting out in search of Starbright Diner (either I'm as blind as a bat or this place doesn't exist.) Anyway, I have no Idea why Angie's wasn't my original destination being as though its, literally, right around the corner from my place. Needless to say, after my first visit, this is my go-to spot! The food is super inexpensive and honestly the best breakfast I've ever had in my life! The pancake, bacon, and eggs combo is my regular and is only six bucks. The bacon is the BEST I've eaten. I'm pretty sure they have like a bacon fairy chained up in the back conjuring up this crispy, greasy, awesomeness. My eggs always come out great even though I wish they would scramble the cheese into the eggs, not just place it on top but eh, I'll be alright. My biggest pet peeve are pancakes that taste like bacon and eggs so I'm in love with the fact that they're on top of their game when it comes to making sure the grill is clean. They also serve Dominican fare (pernil, rice, beans, and plantains are my lunch regulars) as well as fries, shrimp and a host of other selections. The setting is very much old school diner (sans jukeboxes at each table). There is waiter service but its more like one of the cashiers coming out to ask you what you want. When I go, I just go up to the counter, place my order, tell them its to stay, then take a seat at a table and have them bring it out. I've found that's much more efficient then sitting down and waiting for someone to come out and take your order. Stop in for the greatest breakfast food, fresh squeezed orange juice and mediocre service from some of the nicest (and busiest) women who aren't exactly servers to begin with. Yay! read more

I had a western omelette (which was just above average), a cup of coffee, and a can of Pepsi (no Coke products) for seven dollars. The service was fine -- I was by myself, so I wasn't exactly a handful --, the food came quickly, and the girls behind the counter were friendly and attentive. I probably passed Angie's Breakfast Spot a dozen times and never wanted to go in because of the foggy windows. You can't see what it looks like inside lol. However, when yelping a local place for breakfast I came across Angie's and got excited to come by. I've had breakfast here twice and lunch here once, before finally reviewing it. First off, the prices coupled with the portions and quality are fair and matched. It's also one of the only places around where you can get a decent diner style breakfast, which is a big deal. I have had eggs sunny side up, home fries, bacon, toast and pancakes here for breakfast. The first time I ate at Angies, my Home fries had clumps of salt, and my eggs were so under cooked I had to send them back. The second time both the eggs and home fries tasted much better and were properly cooked. I can't really speak for consistency unfortunately. The food is good and served hot and the staff while usually overwhelmed are friendly and patient. Angie's is just a small luncheonette looking place but it has its charm and it offers cute seating in an otherwise "starved for seated meals" area. When I had lunch here I had steak w. onions and white rice and a side of tostones. The tostones were probably the best I have ever had in my entire life. I like this place and will probably come again. I just hope that the popularity Angie's has gained with the neighborhood doesn't make them under appreciate their loyal customers. The reviews were pretty good and it was in the neighborhood i was staying in, so me and my bestie walked in to be pleasantly surprised by their variety of delicious items.
