Should be called Angry Crab Crack Shack cuz I'm addicted! The Trifecta sauce with mild or medium hot is incredible, and be sure to get the Bread For Soppin'! This goes for whatever you get. It comes in a boil bag. And gloves. Cuz you're gonna get messy and that's part of the experience of SERIOUSLY GOING TO TOWN on your food!! Bibs also provided but eat close so you don't dribble on your legs. I did the snow crabs with lobster tail and gator bits n fries. I also got a side of melted butter for the crab legs and lobster. The snow crab legs (and a claw!) were excellent, the lobster tail was a pricey treat at $14 but oh what a treat it was! You get a plate of tools to break your stuff apart. With the lobster tail, take the scissors and cut the belly down the middle then break apart laterally. Run your finger between the meat and shell top to bottom to separate the meat. You're welcome. The fried gator chunks were meh to me, but the dipping sauce was delicious! The fries with that are excellent. I do grilled gator tail chunk kabobs myself..... Be aware, the awesome experience can get pricey upwards of $60 per person depending on what you order. You can still get by with mussels and gumbo.... which will be my future choice. With crab added. Good restaurant with a great MO. The steamed seafood bag is the right way to go. The seasoning is questionable though. It seems to be more "hot" than "spicy". Spicy has more flavor than burn. Each item included in the bag carries a different price ( I.e. red potatoes 50 cents each, small corn $1 each, sausage (4 pcs) $3). Miranda, my waitress was very helpful and made several great suggestions. The Long Island ice tea adult beverage was decent. I would visit again and recommend to others. read more

I absolutely love this place!! I was incredibly skeptical to eat here. The idea of eating off the table and people wearing bibs just creeps me out. If I had known that Angry Crab is like that I would have refused to go. But I'm so glad I went! This place is very unapologetic. They are loud. There is writing all over the walls. They make an embarassig hullabaloo when it's your birthday. But it's all in the carefree fun of the place. The prices are incredibly fair and the staff always walks you through the entire process. You can choose what kind of seafood you want, what dressing for it to be boiled in, and spice level. Spice level tends to be on the hotter side. I like to think I can tolerate a high level of spice but a #3 was good for me. Don't get scared to get a bit messy. It happens to the best of us. The bibs and rolls stacks of napkins are there for a reason. They also have a huge sink in the restaurant to wash your hands which I think is a nice touch. Since going my first time I have gone several more and think about it way more than I care to admit. I'm hooked! But in all fairness I am a HUGE seafood fan so I may (or may not be ) biased. read more

If you love a good crawfish boil, this is the place for you. We ordered the snow crab legs, shrimp and crawfish and all were cooked to perfection. The sauce was fantastic . We got the mild knowing we could add some more heat if necessary and it already had just enough kick in the sauce to be perfect. The service was impeccable and the restaurant was very clean. Rather than going out like planned, we decided to go eat Cajun seafood at 9:30 at night. It was one of our better decisions. Our waitress was friendly, the shrimp cooked to perfection, and the sausage, well the sausage was unremarkable but it was a nice compliment to the shrimp. Even the spiciness was tolerable, I had a 4 and even my pansy palate could handle it. Really fantastic food! Live crawfish with cajun spice, level 5 was amazing. Fried fish and hush puppies great. Gumbo - great although different than traditional gumbo as it has a thicker roux. The sausage ordered a la carte for my boil seemed deep fried rather than cooked in the boil. The only thing I did not like had nothing to do with the food...for my crawfish boil there was no combo that included the usual sausage, corn and potatoes, they are all priced as extras. So nice to find good cajun food here in the desert! Next time I am going to try the king crab once crawfish is out of season (even though they offer frozen crawfish year round, that simple is just not the same as fresh). read more

We go there at least once every month or two. My girlfriend loves their shrimp and Bloody Mary and I always order the two meat plater with chicken and ribs and side of BBQ beans ! I am a huge fan of Angry Crab so I decided to try this location at Indian School and 28th St. I am used to good food and excellent service at Angry Crab ... I have never been more disappointed! The food was over cooked and seemed to come out of a frozen bag of seafood, the rice was paste, the drinks were watered down and that was less than matched by the staff. They were rude and uninterested in ensuring things were right. Drinks were served in styrofoam...I have no idea what that was about but it felt like "Take this and go" . I was more than happy to leave and will never return. I may avoid Angry Crab altogether and try something new. read more

I was in the mood for some cajun food, and being from the south, I am a little picky on it. This place was a little far from where I was staying, but was well worth the drive. They have all their food on sale for by the pound, and bring it out in a plastic baggie. Its all family style, so feel free to share. Rejeana was our waitress and was great, she walked us through how everything worked, which spices worked best with what, and what her favorite was. I got the gumbo too and it was really good!!! Tried Angry Crab Shack for the first time. It was ok. I ordered easy peel shrimp (cajun) with sausage, potatoes and corn. The shrimp were pretty good. Probably farmed, but I can't complain for the price. I liked the sauce a lot. The potatoes were good too. The sausage and corn tasted fine, however both were overcooked. The corn was particularly mushy having been boiled too long. Service was a little slow, but they have nice happy hour specials on drinks. Overall a decent meal. January 5, 2021 January 5th is my birthday and I decided to celebrate and your establishment on 2808 E Indian School Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85016. This was my 46th birthday and unfortunately this was the worst dining experience that I have EVER had in my life. There were 12 of us total. My miserable experience began with the waiter. He never introduced himself so I don't know his name but it was obvious that he did not want to be there. I am referring to his attitude alone. I don't know what his problem was but there was no courteousness, no smile just a general "I'm not happy to be here what are you ordering? Make it fast" type of attitude. I was interested in the new boil for 2 special. This is an $85 meal. My fiancé and I were going to split it but she wanted garlic butter and I wanted the trifecta sauce. I asked if it was possible to have 2 sauces. His response was "no, it's a special that's ready to go so they cant do it any other way" again no smile, and very nasty. My fiancé decided to order a single order for herself and I asked the waiter to assist me in putting together half of the special in price by pound section. He stated, again with a nasty attitude "no, you cant do that". I said "I just want the same things that are in the special but I want to build my own meal". His response is "you cant have that, you can only have what you see there, I am going to wait on another table and will come back when you are ready". He then proceeded to take the final orders at our table. At this point I can clearly see that this waiter has an issue. One of my other guests decided that she would be ok with splitting the boil for 2 with the trifecta sauce so we decided to go with that. I asked if there was any way that we can split it in two. He stated with his same nasty attitude "no its in one bag and there is nothing you can do about it. That's just how it comes". Now at this point I am not happy but everyone is hungry and already ordered so we just waited and ordered drinks. He did mess up a couple of drinks but he quickly fixed that. When one of my other guests asked about their appetizer he responded nastily again "it will come out with your order" even though some appetizers had already been served. So his attitude was not directed at me alone. He just has a nasty attitude in general. He then starts to bring out the food. Here is where things really went bad because I am fed up at this point. 3 of our party had gone to the restroom, 1 of them being the same person that was splitting the boil for 2 with me. He only brought out a few bags at a time and one of those bags happened to be that boil for 2. He looked at the bag and passed it across the table. I asked him if that was the boil for 2 that I had ordered. He stated "no that's something different you ordered something else". He then walked away. My guests are looking at the bag and stating that they think that it is mine. I say that I asked him directly so I will just wait until he gets back and ask him to clarify. He comes out with a few more bags and I say to him "man, I need you to slow down a little to clarify something for me". He just ignores me and continues to try to serve the other guests. I say again a little louder "MY MAN, I need you to slow down and clarify if this is my meal that you have sat across the table from me and told me it's not mine" he states "I know which one is yours" then he attempts to ignore me again. I then stood up and stated "I need you to stop what you are doing and clarify this for me". As he continued to try to ignore me I then stated "I need you to stop everything, I don't know what your problem is but we need someone over here that actually wants to serve this table. As a matter of fact, get me the manager". He states "just wait". I say loudly "no get me the manager NOW!" He then angrily snarls back and tried to finish handing out the food but I stated "no, you are done here, GET THE MANAGER!" He then angrily walks away snatches off his gloves throwing them on one of the empty tables as the manager approaches. This manager comes and instead of deescalating the situation she proceeds to attach me. She angrily approaches me stating "what going on? You need to stop. You are disturbing other customers". At this point now I am boiling over. My entire night is ruined. I am trying to explain to her what was going on she would only keep saying "STOP, STOP, You need to calm down or leave". She stated this several times along with her concern for every guest except me. I say "I am calm, I am trying to tell you what is happening'. I guess that she didn't like my tone so she refused to listen and would only threaten to put me out. Flavors were very tastey. Calamari is ok, the East Coast tastes better. Service is on point. Very fiendly & attentive. I read that service was bad, but did not encounter any tonight. I come here often and usually order the shrimp and will usually opt for some fries on the side. $13 for a pound of shrimp is pretty great. However my ratings is not at a 4 or 5 because I feel that the shrimp is always usually slightly over cooked. I usually choose The trifecta seasoning and it is pretty tasty but it taste mainly like the Cajun rather than a mix three flavors. If you're not one for spicy food I recommend opting for the first two levels because it can get really spicy. The portions for the sides can be extremely inconsistent. Some days I'd have a good size of the side I ordered and other days there is barely anything. Service is pretty good. Waiters are consistent constantly checking on you and refilling water. Overall this place is pretty good for its price. read more

Great place to go to but I didn't like that there was a dog allowed inside and it took a dump on the floor. So not cool! This was both of our 1st time at Angry Crab and I cannot believe the quality the service and the overall experience. Destiny our server was very kind, informative and helpful. I will be coming back this week. It was so good I asked to repeat my order so I can take it to go for my family to try it. That was money well spent. It's the next day and I want to go back so bad! I am so disappointed. I have been there once before, and it was delicious. I suggested it for my father in law's bday and was embarrassed and not even fed! The 4 of us ordered our food at the same time and 3 out of 4 people's food came in staggered intervals. Mine. Never. Arrived. When I asked, wondered, and ultimately complained, I was told "Don't worry, you won't be charged for it and you can take it home and eat it." That was their way of fixing the situation?!?
