Look at the small size of the corn, yikes

The shrimp were good tasting but small and due to the way they cook them they were overcooked but tasted good. The crab was better and not overcooked. Service was fair but failed to remember the details, like added sauces and on one dish added hot sauce when it was ordered without hot sauce. To my surprise I ordered coleslaw and got less than a "handful" for $3 and a very small 1/3 ear of corn. I know that a restaurant needs to make a profit but that is a ridicules profit. Also we had several friends with us and all the good was served over a 10 minute time difference. I will go back to see if this was just bad day, Management needs to step up.

Grilled shrimp Po'boy with cajun fries $15. My husband love the fries and a sandwich was very filling.

I may have never tasted anything more delicious. I took home more than enough for a fabulous lunch. The hub wasn't as thrilled. He's not that much of a seafood guy, enjoying ribs or steak previously, but he decided on the fish and chips for this outing. He's used to cod for battered fish and noted that hoki didn't hold together well, breaking into small pieces, some with breading and some without. The fish and the coating were under seasoned and bland. He wasn't happy with the fries, either. He expected regular fries as our server specified, but received shoestrings, some of which were overly crisp but the ones under the fish were soggy. He did praise the cole slaw. Although neither of us could finish our meal, we did order dessert. We shared the pecan caramel cheesecake and it was ridiculously delicious: smooth, tangy, and not too sweet. Just perfect. We managed to finish it and mentioned to the manager/owner? how good it was. He laughed and said no judging if we licked the plate. The ambiance of the dining room is elegance, almost vintage, and feels special. The restaurant was very busy, which I am thrilled to see, but quite noisy. We were so lucky to grab a parking space in the small front lot, because I have limited mobility. I would love a rail on either side of the small ramp because it is a little steep.

We tried the lab grown salmon crudo which was decent but not our favorite crudo. The texture was definitely different from real fish, but it was unique to try! I got the special which was a crab leg pasta with pesto and peppers. One of the best things I've had in Tucson. Can't wait to come back and try their oysters!

My hubs suggested that we go to The Frida and see if we could get in. We drive over and guess what, we go lucky, must have been that everyone had a 4th of July hangover. We sat at the bar and couldn't be happier. Our server/bartender took great care of us, he offered us drinks, took our food order and made my hubby a really good Margarita, The Frida Margarita, he said it was bomb! I ordered a beer and it came with a chilled glass and lime wedge. We decided on the flautas and the mole enchiladas. Both fantastic, tasty and hearty! I got full with two enchiladas so I donated the third to my hubby, which he was super happy to eat. I have to say, the mole sauce was decadent and full of flavors. It really reminded me of my grandmas mole. It also left a delicious numbing (very slight) on my lips. Perfect balance of nutty, spicy, almost semi sweet goodness. Gorgeously prepared and looked almost too good to eat. Almost..... The place was full, we were still able to have a conversation. It was amazing. Will definitely be back to continue to enjoy the carefully curated menu. Everyone seemed happy and relaxed! This screams a great place to work and obviously enjoy. Well done La Frida! Well done!

The beets and everything that came with them was very fresh! I love anything with pickled onions. The steak appetizer was excellent and my dad could not stop talking about them. Next, I ordered the swordfish special and my dad got the pork chop. Everything was cooked to perfection and flavor was everywhere! For dessert we split the dark chocolate ganache. The ganache was very rich but paired wonderfully with the whipped cream and other flavors. I don't drink, but my dad also loved the cocktails he ordered! The facility delivered the game, with multiple televisions (extra large, large and medium sized) placed around its ample and roomy three dining venues,(outdoor patio bar, indoor bar, and dining room. The atmosphere felt very trendy, upbeat, and fun. What set this facility apart from other "sports bars" to me, was that it appeared to be staffed and managed more like a nicer, "dressy" restaurant. The serving staff were very attentive, polished, polite, and efficient. The tables were bussed and cleaned with pit crew efficiency. But honestly, what really set Trident apart, was the very high quality, attention to detail culinary skills of the kitchen staff. The chicken tender appetizer had juicy, piping hot chicken breast, inside crispy perfectly spiced batter crust. With no heavy grease saturation that is common for bar food. Similarly Mexican Sea Bass, was perfectly prepared with a slight pop of surface resistance before the fish flaked into juicy perfectly seasoned morsels. The dish was balanced flavor and texture wise. Truly, I want to go back to have it again. My son ate fish and chips, and said that it was very delicious. I'll have to take his word for it, because it was devoured before I could even sneak a peek, let alone a taste. Desert was a house-made 4" or 5" wide, 3/4" deep chocolate chip cookie, served piping hot fresh out of the oven, with a creamy vanilla bean ice cream and generous chocolate syrup garnishment. The pride and attention to detail I observed is the true core of high quality experience. I commend Trident for that as much or more than anything, and hope they cherish and maintain that ethos. I clearly give a profound and hearty recommendation to anyone looking for a high quality meal, in a casual and fun environment.

The night we were there they had live music playing too, and since he spot is smaller but had decently taller ceiling, the sounds and acoustics in there actually wasn't bad. Nice to have someone jamming while you have a bite and a drink. The drinks here were sort of hit or miss for me. The drink I got wasn't bad, the drink my friend got was not good. A couple of drinks others got were also hit or miss. I think the cocktails here are just mediocre. The shots here were a bit pricey, but beggars can't be choosers perhaps. Food here was pretty good. Personal favorite, especially for the drinking crowd, that calamari basket was amazing. Came out piping hot and oh so tasty and perfectly fried. Compared to that hot mess of a fried calamari I had at JA Curry Ramen before, this was leaps and bounds ahead. Just a nice spot to be in if you're looking for more lowkey spots here, and one that isn't awful just because it's quieter for, different reasons. Would recommend.
