The food was great! I had the 3 course dinner that came with your choice of salad, protein, and dessert for $40. I selected the Caesar salad, the salmon, and the cheesecake! Cocktails were good too. The food portions were large, we ended up taking home leftovers. The dining area is very spacious and multiple dining areas for guests to enjoy their company. Our host was very prompt with our table, she took our drink order, shared specials and menu items, brought bread for us to share, and kept our drinks topped off. Tried Firebirds Wood Fired Grill and came away pretty disappointed overall. We started with the Seared Ahi Tuna, which sounded great on paper. It may have been seared in something like chimichurri, but whatever was on it completely overpowered the tuna. Instead of highlighting the fish, it dominated every bite. It honestly could have used some kind of palate cleanser alongside it. For mains, we ordered three different steaks, and surprisingly, all of them lacked flavor. That was the biggest letdown, especially after such a heavily seasoned appetizer. You expect a steakhouse to get that part right. The lobster was just okay. Nothing offensive, but nothing memorable either. Overall, the meal felt unbalanced. Either over-seasoned or under-seasoned, with nothing really standing out in a good way. My wife and I went here for lunch after church. It was around 12:30 pm and not many people were there. Our service was great. My wife had shrimp and grits. I ordered wings but due to my shellfish allergy, the kitchen informed me that the wings were cooked with the same oil as the shellfish so I ordered the classic burger instead. Firebirds Wood Fired Grill is an elevated American eatery specializing in, you guessed it, wood fired foods from steaks to burgers, chicken to fish, and is situated in the heart of La Encantada in Tucson. We popped by La Encantada for a bit of shopping and decided to grab lunch while there, so we wandered into Firebirds and felt pretty good with that decision. The place was pretty busy for lunch, so we had a few minute wait upon entry, but they got to use fairly quickly. We got sat on the partially covered and shaded patio, which in February is a great spot to sit. They do not have a dedicated lunch menu, which was a bit odd, so a lot of the offerings leaned very dinner heavy, but they had a small selection of sandwiches and sides, which is what we both went with. They do offer complimentary bread for the table as well. We had a gluten aversion at our table, so we opted to skip it, but the loaf did look tasty. I went with the steak sandwich with tots as my side. The steak was a full piece instead of strips, which I actually enjoyed a bit more. Having the steak in one piece helped the structure and integrity of the sandwich, which made it a bit easier to eat. The steak, while supposed to be cooked to order, was a bit thin for that. I ordered medium, but the steak was well done. It was seasoned well and still ate decent, but was not medium. The same happened with a burger at the table as well. Ordered medium, came out well. Not sure if the actual cook or the heat lamp, but either way...temp was off. Our server was delightful. She was friendly and helpful. The hostess and host who sat us were less than friendly, but not rude. Just "bleh", which is a bit odd seeing they are the welcome to the restaurant. Wasn't bad enough to detour us, but it was noticeably different than all the other staff we encountered. Price point was fair, even for a steak sandwich at lunch. $25 in total, with water as the drink. The space, indoor and outdoor, was well kept and clean. I was in La Encantada so I decided to eat at Firebirds. It had been awhile since I was there. I absolutely love the BLT salad, so I ordered the entree size and a cheeseburger as well. I love their bread and managed to eat quite a bit as well. I didn't like the flavor of iced tea, so I exchanged it for a coke. Pricey? yes. A salad, burger and coke was $40 before tip. The burger was tasty, but not outstanding. Prices are probably okay in today's environment, but I'm glad I didn't have any alcohol. After three years and not writing a review, I thought it would be appropriate to write an update. Last Sunday afternoon, my wife and I came here for lunch. Upon entering, there were two hostesses. The dark-haired one just looked at us and didn't say any greetings (like hi, welcome to Firebirds, anything) until I asked if we could have a table. If you are looking for someone to make you feel unwelcome, she nailed it. If this was my first time here, I would not return, and honestly, should have just left. Our waiter was personable. I knew what I wanted before I even sat down: a martini with blue cheese olives (only because they don't have cocktail onions) and their incredible lobster cheese queso. They did have another small menu that looked new and sounded amazing with offerings such as tortilla soup, arugula carrot salad, and you can pair it with a sandwich, such as a sirloin grilled cheese, BLT, etc. I've included a picture of the menu. This was the final restaurant that we visited while we had family in town. 3 nights of eating out as a party of 9-11. (Number varied due to a few of us locals work schedules) Our table was ready upon arrival complete with water glasses. Our server was quick to get our drink orders. Then we waited. We did ask for a bit more time to look at the menu but it took 40 minutes to get our bread and we were there an hour before we ordered our meals. Part of our party ordered appetizers and we mentioned we were ready to order entrees as well. We were told she'd be back. She disappeared for quite awhile. When we finally got our food it came out very quickly so we did need to wait more than a few minutes til everyone had their order, that was a plus. I don't remember our server returning to check on how our meal was. A few of us ran out of water and had to flag someone down for refills. The food was good. I had the 3 course meal with the BLT salad which was delicious, but a bit too heavy on the dressing so I'd get it on the side next time. I also had the salmon and shrimp, was told the sauce would be on the side but it was not. Dessert was the crème brûlée cheesecake which is delicious. Our server Miguel A. recommended the chicken pasta which was perfectly spicy and creamy, my husband took his recommendation of the bacon wrapped filet which he really enjoyed and the double black diamond martini which was a yummy pineapple. We came for my birthday and enjoyed our meals cooked exactly how we ordered them - prime rib medium and wood grilled salmon. Both very tasty and the bread and butter was fresh out of the oven. I was at the Apple Store handling some repairs on my AirPod Max. Wanted a good steak and I came here for the ribeye Cajun style. It was awesome, perfectly rare, totally tender and deliciously seasoned. After a long absence, we decided to try Firebirds again since they had some new menu items for brunch. Most of the favorites I had loved had been removed, like the Coconut Shrimp with Mango Salsa, Pecan Crusted Trout, Spiced Pecan Green Beans, and Crab Cakes. My husband and I went on May 18; he ordered the Steak and Eggs bowl and I ordered the Crab & Corn Fritters. His bowl was delicious, and the Filet Mignon was tender and tasty. We like it so much, we asked friends to join us the following weekend. Second visit: We were seated in a well-worn booth with peeling wall paint that looked like it had been forgotten. My friend and I both ordered the Steak and Eggs bowl, and hers was almost twice the size of mine. Mine looked like they forgot onions, mushrooms, and other stuff. My steak was half fat and most of the meat was full of gristle. Hers also was tough. I didn't realize how much fat was in my bowl until I got home, since I boxed up half of it. The server had noticed how small my portion was and brought me more mushrooms, which was appreciated. I should have investigated my bowl more, but I was enjoying visiting with our friends we hadn't seen in awhile, so I mostly ate the potatoes. Both my husbands Steak Tacos and his friends had very stringy steak. None of us would order any of those dishes again. We were also celebrating my birthday (confirmed by the host who checked us in with our reservations), which was never acknowledged. If it had just been my husband and me, we would have sent back the dishes for a re-do, or ordered something else. We were pretty involved in conversation, and when the server came by to check, we really had not had much time to get into our food, so non of us were aware how bad it was that early on. We hardly saw the server again until it was time for the check. No complaints about the server - she was fine and did fill our drinks, but maybe she didn't get the message that we were there to celebrate my special occasion. Firebirds is a chain...I get it...but chains do have their charms. Consistency and closeness to home get me there when I want a nice piece of salmon. I like to go there for the Salmon Salad--it gets even better if my hankering for salmon salad comes on half-price wine day! Their discounts apply to glasses as well as bottles, so even my single glass gets discounted . The salad is consistently tasty, and the salmon is always very nicely grilled (not overcooked and crispy on the outside). Their bread is delicious too. Not healthy by any stretch, but hot from the oven and delicious with butter! I've never had dessert there because...the bread! read more

We ordered ranch rings, and smothered tenderloin breakfast burrito, so much flavor it was amazing! Inside was very inviting and calm. I went for the BLT Salad --crisp lettuce, juicy tomato, and bacon so good it deserves its own fan club --and the Tater Tots , golden little clouds of happiness that crunched like a standing ovation in my mouth . Firebirds were running a "special" of BBQ Baby Back Ribs with fruit and a side for $19.95. We've had this meal before and really enjoyed it. We ordered it for pickup and all went well there. Got home to eat them and found the ribs to be tough....very, very, very tough and lean on meat. We wondered even if they had been cooked completely. The SW Au Gratin potatoes were way over salted. The fresh vegetables were ok, but skimpy, not up to their usual standards. The fresh fruit was good. This meal was a major disappointment and if this were our first meal with Firebirds, we would not go back. IF we return, we will not ever order their BBQ ribs.
