    Shrimp and very runny grits.
    Jen M.

Hubby and son really wanted some crab so off we went yesterday to Angry Crab Shack on Broadway. The first two things we noticed is the EXTREMELY sticky floors and a broken booth right when you walk in. We were seated right away and greeted by our waiter (R) quickly. I was taken aback at the clear smell of alcohol radiating from him although he was courteous. They both ordered their crab and I ordered shrimp and grits. The grits were so runny that the shrimp sank to the bottom. The shrimp were sandy somehow which was weird. The guys said their crab was good. For the three of us, the bill plus tab was about $300 - seemed high for a meh experience.

Given the area this is located... I had been a little sus about trying it out... now I feel my problem Is going to be limiting my frequency. Such a cool space and super friendly staff. The seafood is delicious (they have non seafood options but I didnt try anything else as I came here for the seafood). The fried clams were really good (and I'm not generally into fried clams)... they have a bit of a spice and flavored well. We got the Broil for Two with the trifecta seasoning and medium spice level and it was perfect. The sweet corn was sweet and the potatoes were cooked just right. They do offer you gloves, all the gadgets for eating seafood and even a bib. Market Prices can seem high... but you would pay more at almost any other seafood restaurant for the variety in the Boil for Two. They have a decent bar with several cocktail and beer options. Only suggestion I would have is - wear short sleeves and dig in!!

First time at Angry Crab Shack and it was pretty good! I've had seafood boil before so I ordered the Crawfish and Clams to the bag. The clams were delicious but the crawfish was hit or miss. Some of the crawfish tasted off and the ones were a lot more mushy and soft compared to the fresher ones. I've had better seafood boil elsewhere, so i'm glad I was at least able to try the one that Tucson offers!

This was the chosen restaurant by the hubby for his birthday. His review of his seafood boil: He loved it! He said the seafood was fresh, and the spice he selected which was mild but tangy, was perfect for his taste. The seafood boil comes out in a big plastic bag that is placed inside a can. Rather than dumping the entire thing right onto the table, which you can do....the hubby pulled out the plastic bag and ripped it open. That way the seafood stayed soaking in the juice while he ate. They provide you with claw crackers, gloves, and a bib. Me being a vegetarian, I had looked at the menu online prior to going to make sure there was something for me to eat. There was....I ordered the garlic noodle bowl and the angry endamame. Warning...the garlic noodle bowl was delish, but a tad too much garlic. No vampires were going to get me that night...LOL! The trifecta sauce on the angry endamame was fantastic! It contains cajun, lemon pepper, and garlic. It was so yummy! No need to dress up in this place....very casual. Check the board when going on as there are drink specials listed. The service was great....very friendly people.

This place is amazing! Trifecta medium was the perfect sauce for our boil! Service was great, even on a super busy Saturday! Love the sinks in the restaurant area! Highly recommend!

Best cajun seafood I've ever had.

The oysters and green agua chile were the stars of the torre marisquera, a nice way to try a variety of the options. I was blown away by the oysters rockellefer, the chorizo bits were a flavorful and unexpected spin. The raw oysters were fresh and were combined perfectly with the accompanying home made salsa. As most Mexican marisco restaurants have, there's a basket filled with a wide variety of salsa bottles and saltine crackers. The food was so fresh and flavorful, it wasn't needed They have a nice selection of Mexican beers on tap or by the bottle. They also have a great mixed drink menu, which we didn't try. Nestled a bit further down from Cobra Arcade at the front corner of the street it's on, just walk a bit further and you'll find CRUDA. Not a huge place, maybe about 8 or so actual tables, it's a quaint little spot that's surrounded by many other places that are a bit larger but not necessarily better since the other spots are just so crowded particularly at night. If you want a nicer spot to kick back and unwind, you definitely want to try out this spot first. The night we were there they had live music playing too, and since he spot is smaller but had decently taller ceiling, the sounds and acoustics in there actually wasn't bad. Nice to have someone jamming while you have a bite and a drink. The drinks here were sort of hit or miss for me. The drink I got wasn't bad, the drink my friend got was not good. A couple of drinks others got were also hit or miss. I think the cocktails here are just mediocre. The shots here were a bit pricey, but beggars can't be choosers perhaps. Food here was pretty good. Personal favorite, especially for the drinking crowd, that calamari basket was amazing. Came out piping hot and oh so tasty and perfectly fried. Compared to that hot mess of a fried calamari I had at JA Curry Ramen before, this was leaps and bounds ahead. Just a nice spot to be in if you're looking for more lowkey spots here, and one that isn't awful just because it's quieter for, different reasons. Would recommend.

I think so…read more La Palma may be the closest experience in Tucson to the Baja fish tacos I could find throughout Southern California. Their big white food trailer is topped with a large blue tarp that shades a comfortable seating area. The location is kiddy corner from a gleaming white church at the opposite side of the intersection. In a short time, La Palma has become my go-to for fish tacos because the quality is consistent and they know how to dress the tacos with the right combination of flavors. Additionally, they make a mean horchata that compliments the meal perfectly. I'm probably in the wrong crowds because I have not heard other people mention La Palma while praising quite lesser places. I don't get it. All I can say is that for those SoCal folks who are passing through Tucson and are hankering for good fish tacos, pull up to La Palma and be overjoyed. P.S. The folks here are very nice and welcoming.

We waited a minute to be seated in a small corner table next to the kitchen We waited quite a long time to have our server acknowledge us we had already picked out food by the time they came. She made us aware of specials they had. They don't have a mocktail menu but the server said she would be able to come up with something for me which was very fruity and sweet definitely not my taste. I wish they would incorporate a mocktail menu or better NA options. The appetizer we had was calamari which was decent- my husband wasn't a fan of the breading texture it has a lumpiness to it maybe like a crushed cornflake feel. Not our favorite but overall it was cooked great not overdone. Love the roasted lemon on the side. I had the short rib ravioli which the ravioli itself was good. The sauce was interesting it had a sweetness to it that I wasn't a fan of. I've had short rib ravioli at wildflower which they also did a white sauce which I preferred due to it being savory. I can tell it was a wine based sauce which had a nice depth of flavor but the sweetness really killed it for me. My husband had the baked ravioli which was a lasagna style which was great! Robust sauce and large portion. If you're in Tucson the sauce seems very similar to Nate's. We did get a free cheesecake for our anniversary which was very nice, my husband loved this and he's super picky about cheesecake. Overall not bad- I think I'd maybe come to try some other dishes but service felt very slow, I wasn't blown away with anything and it was very pricey, mocktail options definitely lacked if you're sober.

He's not that much of a seafood guy, enjoying ribs or steak previously, but he decided on the fish and chips for this outing. He's used to cod for battered fish and noted that hoki didn't hold together well, breaking into small pieces, some with breading and some without. The fish and the coating were under seasoned and bland. He wasn't happy with the fries, either. He expected regular fries as our server specified, but received shoestrings, some of which were overly crisp but the ones under the fish were soggy. He did praise the cole slaw. Although neither of us could finish our meal, we did order dessert. We shared the pecan caramel cheesecake and it was ridiculously delicious: smooth, tangy, and not too sweet. Just perfect. We managed to finish it and mentioned to the manager/owner? how good it was. He laughed and said no judging if we licked the plate.
