She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. She really helped make the whole experience enjoyable and welcoming. The food was excellent. I ordered the Trifecta, and everything was cooked perfectly. The crab was spot on -- easy to crack open, and the meat came out full and clean without having to fight with the shell. That's a huge sign of perfectly cooked crab. The shrimp was also cooked just right, tender and flavorful, not overdone at all. The sauce was incredible and tied everything together perfectly. Every bite had bold flavor, and even the sides soaked up the seasoning really well. Overall, this was one of the best seafood boil experiences we've had in Tucson. We ordered the seafood boil with trifecta sauce (mild spicy- I would caution with the spice level). Hubby and son really wanted some crab so off we went yesterday to Angry Crab Shack on Broadway. The first two things we noticed is the EXTREMELY sticky floors and a broken booth right when you walk in. We were seated right away and greeted by our waiter (R) quickly. I was taken aback at the clear smell of alcohol radiating from him although he was courteous. They both ordered their crab and I ordered shrimp and grits. The grits were so runny that the shrimp sank to the bottom. The shrimp were sandy somehow which was weird. The guys said their crab was good. Given the area this is located... I had been a little sus about trying it out... now I feel my problem Is going to be limiting my frequency. Such a cool space and super friendly staff. The seafood is delicious (they have non seafood options but I didnt try anything else as I came here for the seafood). The fried clams were really good (and I'm not generally into fried clams)... they have a bit of a spice and flavored well. We got the Broil for Two with the trifecta seasoning and medium spice level and it was perfect. The sweet corn was sweet and the potatoes were cooked just right. They do offer you gloves, all the gadgets for eating seafood and even a bib. Market Prices can seem high... but you would pay more at almost any other seafood restaurant for the variety in the Boil for Two. They have a decent bar with several cocktail and beer options. First time at Angry Crab Shack and it was pretty good! I've had seafood boil before so I ordered the Crawfish and Clams to the bag. The clams were delicious but the crawfish was hit or miss. Some of the crawfish tasted off and the ones were a lot more mushy and soft compared to the fresher ones. Starting this review off by saying Kim is an OUTSTANDING human. She was personable, attentive and just overall amazing. My boyfriend and I split the boil for 2 and not a single complaint. Kim was so attentive we never had to ask for anything because she already knew what we needed! We were just at the end of our extra trifecta sauce, and she came over with more at the most perfect timing. 100% will be returning and would love to sit in Kim's section any day! read more

This was the chosen restaurant by the hubby for his birthday. His review of his seafood boil: He loved it! He said the seafood was fresh, and the spice he selected which was mild but tangy, was perfect for his taste. The seafood boil comes out in a big plastic bag that is placed inside a can. Rather than dumping the entire thing right onto the table, which you can do....the hubby pulled out the plastic bag and ripped it open. That way the seafood stayed soaking in the juice while he ate. They provide you with claw crackers, gloves, and a bib. Me being a vegetarian, I had looked at the menu online prior to going to make sure there was something for me to eat. There was....I ordered the garlic noodle bowl and the angry endamame. Warning...the garlic noodle bowl was delish, but a tad too much garlic. No vampires were going to get me that night...LOL! The trifecta sauce on the angry endamame was fantastic! It contains cajun, lemon pepper, and garlic. It was so yummy! No need to dress up in this place....very casual. The food was great, but unfortunately we had terrible service. The waitress offered bread and butter, but never brought it. When we finally got her to come back to us and asked, she said "no worries" and still never brought any! Another server brought our order, but didn't get everything we ordered. Again had to run down our waitress to get the missing items. She never checked back, so we didn't get our empty drinks refilled. Terrible service! This may be the last time we visit this location. If we have similar experiences elsewhere, it could spell the end of family visits to the Angry Crab Shack. It all started even before we were seated. The hostess prioritized chatting with a returning employee over seating our party. Once we were finally at our table, the music was playing far too loudly. Although we asked our server to turn it down, it was still difficult for us to hear one another. As a result, our orders were not taken correctly. When it comes to the order timing, there were five of us, and it was at least twenty minutes between the first dish and the last. I should have timed it to confirm! I ordered soft-shell crab and Cajun French fries. The crab arrived hot and delicious, but the fries were disappointingly cold and only regular seasoned, rather than the Cajun flavor I expected. I should mention that our dinners were served over a span of at least twenty minutes, if not longer. Mine arrived first, but my wife's and daughter's meals took much longer to come out, and they both ordered boiled shrimp. It's puzzling why those would take so long. On our way home, we reflected on our dinner experience and felt quite disappointed, especially since it was meant to celebrate my wife's birthday. While we've enjoyed the Angry Crab before, our visit to the location on Grant Road in Tucson, Arizona, did not meet our expectations this time. We had lunch as a family today after weeks of looking forward to visiting this restaurant with our dad, who is a truck driver. His entire family is from Louisiana, and he grew up eating food very similar to what they serve here. We arrived around 1 PM and were seated right away. My mom and sister ordered cheeseburgers, while my dad and I went for seafood. I got a snow crab boil bag, and my dad chose a catfish po' boy sandwich. My boil bag came out first, but the rest of the food followed shortly after. The boil bag was great--though I quickly realized I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to spice! My dad absolutely loved his catfish sandwich. Unfortunately, my mom and sister's burgers were significantly undercooked, but when we mentioned it to our server, she immediately had their meals, including the sides, remade and brought out fresh and even discounted them from our receipt. We ordered fried oysters and the lunch crab/shrimp bag. I also ordered gumbo. My wife liked the crab/shrimp bag; the shrimp were jumbo sized and tasty. The restaurant provided a pair of scissors to cut the crab open and they were woefully inadequate. My oysters tasted "off." unpleasant flavor. The gumbo was in no way like what you would get in New Orleans or Galveston although lots of small shrimp. The ambiance inside the restaurant was dated and it smelled. The men's restroom stank to high heaven. Really, really bad, but it was reasonably clean. Couldn't find where the terrible odour was coming from. The food here is delish! Be ready to get your money worth of seafood! The sauce to get is the Trifecta which is garlic, lemon pepper and Cajun! Super delish! Something that is new to the menu but also not in the menu is Queen Crab!! A littler similar to Snow Crab but more on the thicker side. Meaning more meat!! Way to go Queens! Each order of the Queen Crab is running about $42. Totally worth it. Meaty and delish!! One thing I found different from the last time I went was they only gave scissors. Last time they gave scissors and Crab Crackers. The scissors now have an attachment similar to the cracker tool. All the employees were super nice. If you're familiar with Joe's Crab Shack, this spot has a similar feel, but with slightly different model. You build your steam bag, choose a sauce and spice level. Anything like potatoes, corn, sausages added are an extra charge. Butter is an extra charge. Overall, the pricing is much higher than what you would get at a comparable place like Joe's. We ordered the Boil for Two which came with 2 lobster tails, shrimp, snow crab, king crab, red potatoes, and corn. The Traditional Steam surprised us in that it had a strong Old Bay seasoning sauce, it was good, but be warned, the menu makes it seem like it's just steamed with water. I think we probably needed to say No sauce, just didn't understand the menu. We also ordered a side of the Trifecta Sauce for an extra charge. The seafood was good, no complaints really, just felt like we should've had more of everything in our bag. We would order the Trifecta Sauce again on the side or maybe as a part of the Steam bag. Had a really nice savory flavor. Our service was friendly, but slow. Weren't acknowledged for almost 15 minutes after being seated. They have a large menu with other items outside of a steam bag, lobster rolls, clam chowder, fish and chips, etc. I think we will go back to give it another shot someday, try some of the other menu items. read more

We went to the location on Grant to celebrate my husband's birthday. He ordered the 1/2 pd. shrimp and 1/2 pd. crab leg combo boil. When food came to our table the servers said the kitchen accidently added 1/2 pd. of crab leg to his bag and she walked away. We assumed that because it was the kitchen who accidently added the crab leg and the server brought it to our table that it was okay to eat. When we recieved the bill we were charged an extra $20.00 for the extra crab legs. We brought it to the attention of managment and we went back and fourth on it. We did end up paying for it even though I don't think we should have. Managment was not giving up and I think they were just covering up their mistake. Word of advise, send it back even if its their mistake before you start eating it. read more

And of course because there were more than 5 of us in the party they automatically added 18% gratuity. I came here for dinner tonight with my mom. Th servers were very friendly. She had the crab and shrimp cake sandwich with sweet potato fries. Both were delicious. I had the boil with 1 lb. dungeness crab legs (they were out of the whole crabs), 1 corn, 1 potato, 1 egg. I ordered the trifecta sauce and level 1 spiciness. It was surprisingly a little spicy. The flavor of the sauce was so good. They gave scissors to cut the crab legs. It's been a long time since I've cut crab but these scissors were pretty big (like full size office scissors) and it took a very long time to cut them. I ended up leaving with 1/2 my crab because they were closing and it took so long. This is why I didn't give them a 5. They should provide better tools for cracking and tiny forks. The cornbread was soooo good as were their seasoned fries. I do recommend coming here at least once but the boils are pretty expensive. Maybe order the less expensive meal options on menu and share a boil as an appetizer. read more
