What a great find! We have been vacationing in the Clearwater/Indian Shores Beach area for 3 years now and this was our first time here. It DEFINITELY won't be our last. It's a self sit so we decided to sit by the balcony facing the water. They have a small shed where there smoke the bbq that faces the balcony in the back. Ut it was windy that day so it didnt bother me. With in seconds our waiter took care of us with drinks which is always great. I was there with my kids so it was mainly kids meal ordered and the portions were large. My son quesadilla was pretty big and my daughter had the chicken strips it looked a little over cooked but she said it was fine. Another good place. This was my first trip to The Angry Pepper Waterside. Located on Duhme Road just behind Publix. First thing is parking. Not a lot of parking. I parked in a nearby lot and walked across the road. So although parking is an issue there is parking nearby and they even have a sign that says additional parking is available then they give you a number to call to get the location. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. The waitress got our drinks and then our order. I'd you are into beer, standard and craft, this place has a wide selection and it's cold! The Bottletop appetizer was superb! Genius! Simple yet complex...a jalapeño pepper sliced in circles, battered, then deep fried and served with your choice of dipping sauce. These were awesome! I rarely bring home leftovers but I did these. My wife ordered the Angry Chicken wrap with sweet potato fries. Portion size was LARGE. She brought half of the wrap home as well. She stated her fries were really good, which is odd for her. Many mess those up by the Pepper got them right. I got the Bubba Burger and made it Angry. I love burgers...here is the only complaint I have. The burger was not seasoned. It was hot off the grill, it was juicy as a good burger should be, it was large, but it was not seasoned. It was bland. The waffle fries I got were just ok. They were plentiful but just ok. Total cost of the bill minus tip was $70. That included a beer and a Margarita. So not too bad considering two alcoholic beverages and an appetizer. Because of the bland burger it get 4 stars. It is a place I will revisit but not every time. read more

Horrible!!! Been coming to the angry pepper here for years, never had a bad experience. Today my boyfriend and I decided to stop in for a quick drink and bite before we saw some family in the area. The bar was full so we took to sitting at a table near the entrance. However, we sat 10-15 mins without ever being acknowledged at ALL. Another couple sat down after us and after waiting a while as well, went up to the bar to tell one of the bartenders they were sitting over there... First thing potential diners need to know is that the parking situation here blows donkey nuts. I think there are 8 normal spots, maybe 4 around back next to the dumpster and two parallel spots about 30 feet behind the 8 normal spots. Those two parallel spots look dangerous though. I think you'd be begging to get your car backed into in one of those. Oh, and there are to extra long handicapped spots up front suitable for RVs. Very awkward. Meeting up with friends? Meet at a house and carpool because if you park next door, you will be towed. Let's move inside. Much like the parking, there isn't much wiggle room here either. If you're in a large party, sitting outside will be required, and on a hot Florida day, that's gonna be uncomfortable. Dress light and bring sun screen! The food is good though. I had the nachos, which were tasty, but a little dry. I prefer queso on nachos for moistening chip coverage, as opposed to melted cheddar or Jack cheese. My recommendation is to just get BBQ nachos and douse them with BBQ sauce. Or better yet, just skip them and order some Q. I sampled the BBQ and quickly realized I did it wrong by ordering nachos. We went in and it was fairly quiet. It sits on the water, mostly an outside establishment as even the indoor section gets plenty of fresh air from the open bar area. Save one bartender, we were the only girls there, and it felt a bit awkward (sort of like we invaded the He-Man Woman Haters Club or something!). But the weather was nice, so whatev! We ended up with a French dip sandwich, a dozen wings, a corona, and an iced tea for $23 or so. The wings are freakishly big. The French dip had a nice smoky flavor (not too strong), but it was a bit too fatty for my liking. It came with my choice of a side, and I got waffle fries. They had a nice crunch to them and must have had some sort of seasoning on them, and they were really good. The staff was friendly and interactive, checking up on us from across the bar. Ketchup, mustard, sauce, prepackaged plastic silverware, etc. sit in buckets on the stools next to the hightops so you don't need to hunt someone down for condiments, and the tables have rolls of paper towels secured with fishing weights so they don't blow around. This veteran went to the Angry pepper last night to celebrate a birthday. This was my second visit and since I had no issues the first time I thought noting of it however, this time was a totally different experience. When we arrived we sat as instructed but, the table needed cleaning after waiting a good 20 minutes cleared the table ourselves and proceeded to wait for our server to acknowledge our presence. She never did. Sometime later a very nice young lady came and took our drink order and informed us that she was not our server. When asked she pointed out who our server actually was. This person had been in our vicinity several times waiting on other tables but completely ignoring us. After watching her service two other groups who arrived after us my wife stopped my mother-in-law from saying anything and took it upon herself to go make contact with the waiter in an attempt to get service. The waitress was rude and we decided it might be best for us to leave as I would not trust eating anything this waitress brought me to eat therefore, I cannot comment on the food but the service sucked at least for our table. What our waitress and the non-caring manager saw was three women of African descent and one European. What they failed to see was contained in that group was a seminarian, a US Navy Veteran, A Georgetown Graduate, 2 USF graduates, A disabled, a retired veteran of the US Air Force, and several members of the LGBT community. So I ask my God-fearing, veteran, LGBT, Hoya, Bull, Disabled friends to think twice before frequenting this establishment. They are receiving 1 whole star because fractions nor zero are available! Wife and I went here for an early dinner tonight. She had a hamburger and sweet potato fries. She said burger had no flavor, very greasy and it was served on two bun tops. A quick review for this place as I've only been there once to to play Monday night trivia, have drinks, and nibble on some appetizers. First of all this place has Magic Hat #9 on draft. One star for that alone. This Burlington, VT craft beer has a hint of apricot in it and I have been on a quest to find it in Florida either at a bar in any form bottles or draft, and this place has it on tap. So good!!! But the best starter of the night has to be the fried green tomatoes. They came with a side of spicy remoulade sauce and never having this traditionally southern food before I was surprised at how flavorful and yummy it was. I didn't have anything else to eat, but the menu is decidedly meat based and heavily leaning towards BBQ with a variety of bar food dishes spiced up with hot sauces, hence the "Angry Pepper" name I suppose. The menu is heavily meat centric and isn't vegetarian friendly unless you eat fish or want to make a whole meal of fried appetizers and sides. Most of the bar restaurant is patio based with pretty good view of an intercoastal inlet to the Gulf from Maderia Beach. It feels very local and authentically Floridian so that is another plus.
