I found this place after yelping for grilled catfish and was so surprised because I had no clue we had a location like this here! My family and I love eating at Thien An Bo 7 Mon Restaurant in Garden Grove, CA, but I've always craved it while I'm back in the Bay. Glad to say that my cravings have been satisfied after discovering Anh Hong! I've visited several times and have never been disappointed with the food or service. The grilled catfish, sides, and the experience is something unique and enjoyable every time. Seeing people of different cultures indulge at this restaurant and being open to trying something different is also very wholesome! I've seen the staff and even customers ready to teach others how to eat here, so it is a non-judgemental place. It's just like spring rolls, but you're rolling it yourself and adding whatever ingredients you'd like so it's more fun! I am honestly shocked at how many people walk in and walk out thinking that this is a Pho restaurant. It is quite rude and also interesting that so many people don't research a place before showing up. The staff takes this very well though and they are very accommodating every time!

Dropped in for a quick dinner. Had been to same franchise in socal. @ 4:30 there is no waiting. Ordered 3 items a la cart from 7 course beef ($27 per item). Pretty tasty but kind of on the pricy side. May come back and try other items.

I have been coming here for the past 6-7 years now, and I genuinely feel that this is best place to get fried Catfish. Though we live southside San Jose, we'll make the trip up to Milpitas to get takeout from here (if we don't feel like dining in). The restaurant itself is a great spot to host a small family dinner, or just a dinner for two. The plaza is quite busy, however, it's worth dealing with the traffic LOL. Okay the food: * fried catfish- ** ORDER THIS DISH AHEAD** the fried catfish is our usual go to dish. We would usually order 1 fish for my partner & I, and 2 for a family of 6. They do give a good amount of vegetables with the fish, so keep that in mind. * Bo la lot- we love getting this dish, it's quite tasty and pretty authentic. I definitely recommend getting this if you're also getting the fried catfish.

I love ordering the fish here! The flavor of the fish is unique, it has a sweet and savory touch to it which pairs well with the fish sauce and other condiments in the spring roll. A lot of people that walk in think that this a pho spot and sit down and immediately walk out which is quite rude! The workers here are kind and quick with the service. The ambiance is fairly relaxed which is good place to sit back and enjoy a meal with a friend or even a big family.

If you're looking for a nicer quality Vietnamese restauarant with AUTHENTIC dishes and WELL MADE beef rolls, this is the spot I bring my favorite peoples and impress. Get the 7 course beef, goi salad, and the banh xeo (crispy af) - these are your must-haves. This restauarant can accomodate families of all sizes as well as smaller groups of two. The service and environment made me feel like i was in Vietnam, eating with high society. The fresh greens with everything was a huge plus!

Food was good but got charged for extra vegetables we didn't order. They claimed this is for the cucumber plate but they normally didn't charge for this before (we also didn't ask for them). As you can see, each banh xeo order already has vegetables but for some reason they gave us the extra one before our orders even came out?? Seems like they want to take advantage of people who don't know their new pricing. TLDR food is good but pricing is suspicious

My family has eaten at Anh Hong for most of my life- either at this location or in San Jose. Whenever we have a family get together or something to celebrate, Bo 7 Mon (7 courses of beef) is usually an option. For 5 people, we usually order 3 sets of Bo 7 Mon and everyone leaves perfectly full. You can get away with ordering 2 sets and supplementing a la carte (the grilled fish is a fun item). They allow you to substitute one of the seven items, so we always substitute the cha (meatloaf) for additional Bo Mo Chai. The food here is pretty consistent and I prefer the accessibility of the Milpitas location over the San Jose location, but I did notice the San Jose's chao (porridge) was better. I do wish this location would renovate and upgrade the interior. For a restaurant with this pricing, they should change the interior away from the traditional pho restaurant look. Ditch the paper napkins, old menus with typos, and outdated furniture for a more upscale experience.

It has been years since I've had 7 course beef, and I'm glad I finally got the chance to try it again. Came here through my parent's recommendation, and did not disappoint. Full restaurant on a Saturday night and luckily not much of a wait. Service staff were constantly checking the tables and giving quick service. Food was pretty good, the vegetables were fresh, clean, and crisp. The beef was good. It was $40 per person for the 7 course beef, which is a little pricey but I enjoyed it! I would come back again.

An update as it's been a while. L O C A T I O N Anh Hong Saigon is located in a plaza off of Calaveras Blvd with the Paris Baguette and Grocery Outlet. The parking situation here can be very difficult as there are a few popular restaurants so coming on the weekends and/or peak lunch times can be a struggle. I N S I D E It's fairly standard inside. It hasn't seemed to change over the years. A few larger tables for larger groups and smaller ones of course for smaller groups. M E N U The menu hasn't really changed and of course do not expect to get pho here. This is not a pho place. We had a group of 5 people and ordered the 7 styles of beef as well as the sugar cane shrimp (chao tom banh hoi), banh xeo. I feel like the 7 styles of beef is still the same. A lot of food so you can always do the minimum 2 servings and get other food which is what we got. The shrimp on a sugar cane was good. Fun to chew the sugar cane. The banh xeo was too crispy and quite oily. I think after having garlic sensitivities, it was a very different experience this time with the 7 styles of beef. We still liked the sausages for sure. But I think I appreciated the beef porridge more than the others. I took the rest home. S E R V I C E It wasn't too bad actually considering it was the weekend. It wasn't packed. There were still tables open. We got all our orders in a timely manner. Easily paid by card. O V E R A L L Anh Hong isn't a place we frequently go to. It's a once in a while, celebratory type of place where you can enjoy some of your standard Vietnamese dishes and of course the only place we've found that has this 7 styles of beef. So we'll be back again one day!

This is a long overdue review. Anh Hong Saigon has been here in the Calaveras Plaza Shopping Center for years. They are close to Paris Baguette, Tofu House, Grocery Outlet, etc. They specialize in a seven-course specialty beef experience. Plenty of parking spots available in this large plaza. They used to post a note on the front door. "They do not serve Pho!" The dishes were delicious and was a great casual dining experience. It opened up my Vietnamese food experience. 1. House Beef Salad. 2. Beef in Wine Vinegar Fondue. Interesting flavor, but i did like it. 3. Steamed Beef Patty. 4. Grilled Beef Sausages. Flavorful 5. Beef wrapped in Loc Leaf. 6. Beef Roll with Onions and Lemongrass. I was familiar with this dish as I had it before at other restaurants. I liked the tender beef but dipped it in the nuoc cham. 7. Beef Porridge. I am not a big porridge fan in general. Support your local business.

    Courses 3-6

Been wanting to have 7 courses of beef and found this place, kinda close to me. I've only had it once before in southern CA and found it an interesting meal. So when friends were coming to visit, I suggested this place for us to all try. The inside is a nicer than the outside and the shopping plaza suggests. We had 4 people and a kid so they stuck us at a big round table. They need a lazy susan on those round tables to be able to get to all the food. We just got up and walked around the table to get to all the food. We got two orders of the 7 courses of beef, which was plenty for the 4 of us. You don't need to order one order per person - that's way too much. But they do have a minimum of two orders per table, so best to come with a large group or if it's just two of you - you will have leftovers. We also got an order of the com thit va tom nuong - rice with shrimp and pork. More for the rice - so our little one could have it. Haha, but both the shrimp and pork were very tasty so I recommend. The pork was very thinly sliced and a little dry but had great flavor. I'm used to thicker pieces of pork but everyone does it differently. The mini salad that came with it was quite refreshing also. Anyways onto the 7 course - first they brought out the hot pot/fondue put to warm up/boil. And they filled the tables with the veggies, herbs, rice paper and bowls of warm water. But the actual first course was the beef salad. It was bright, tangy and refreshing - a great start to the meal. Next, once the vinegar liquid was boiling, we cooked up the thin slices of raw beef. I put this beef in a spring roll. They had two containers of sauce on the table. One is the nuoc mam, aka fish sauce and I wasn't sure about the other. I tried a taste of it, but it was undiscernible to me. The next four courses were just different beef rolls, all served on one plate. There were five pieces of each, so not sure how this was 2 orders. There was steamed beef, grilled sausages, beef wrapped in lotus leaf and beef roll with lemongrass and onions. I thing the lemongrass beef roll was my favorite out of all of them. You can just eat them but I used them in spring rolls - to get my veggies in. The meal ended with the seventh and final course - which was a beef porridge. Most of us thought this was the best course, including me. I wished for more- I only got a small bowl. With the rice dish, the 7 courses of beef was enough food for me. A little pricey - I think one order of the 7 courses is $40 and with a minimum order of two - you're already spending $80 off the bat. I'm glad I tried it. And service was pretty good. Plenty of parking as it's in a big, but busy shopping center with Paris Baguette and Grocery Outlet.

Valentines Day with a party of 12 they do not take reservations, it's first come first serve, 6pm ish & lucky enough, we were seated within 30mins Winning Located in a shopping plaza, with a lot of other restaurants & stores, Yes there is plenty of parking but, Good Luck on finding one near where ever your wanting to go, if you have to park & walk, than park and walk, you'll be OK. Authentic Vietnamese food, lots of flavor & yummy! you'll need patience & actually put in work in order to enjoy the meal. Everyone working, is very helpful & friendly, if you have any questions about the menu. A great experience if you've never been & I know for sure, this is not a place for kids, because you trying to fix their food & yours (nope) I'm trynna enjoy my meal unless you have the patience, than you'll also be good. I will definitely try the other dishes on the menu or any other restaurant like this.

I came here on a Friday evening with my friend to grab dinner around 6:00 PM. The wait was around an hour, so be very prepared if you're coming during the dinner rush. This spot is located where the majority of the Asian restaurants are in Milpitas, so it's safe to say the parking can get a bit hectic and intense. The interior of the place is very bright, modern, and clean. There is a lot of seating for a small space, but the reason they are so busy has a lot to do with the number of people wanting to check this spot out. When you sit down, you scan their virtual menu via QR code and order there instead of through a server. You have the choice to order on one phone as a group or separately. Between my friend and me, we ordered a beef mint salad, fried tofu, confit mushrooms, and truffle mushroom rice. I will say that when we first got the fried tofu and confit mushrooms, we were quite surprised by the small portions compared to the price. That said, they were delicious, but skippable if you're trying to find the best bang for your buck. What I absolutely would recommend is their truffle mushroom fried rice. This might have been my best bite this month. It was so savory, the mushrooms hit perfectly, and the coating of butter on the rice was supreme. It was $28 for a bowl, but it was a good value to split between two people. Overall, this place had great, fast service (our food came out in under 10 minutes), a nice ambiance, and fresh, flavorful food.
