We finally stopped by after hearing so much about this place, and I can definitely see why it's popular. The menu has a ton of options, so there really is something for everyone. The portions are generous, and every dish we ordered came out looking just as good as it tasted. From the tacos and grilled meats to the noodles, bánh mì, and chicken and waffles, everything was packed with flavor. Even the drinks tasted great, although I wish they used a little less ice since they were gone after just a few sips. The only downside was the wait. The restaurant is pretty small, so it's understandable that it gets busy, but be prepared to wait during peak hours. Once we were seated, our drinks took a really long time to come out, and that was probably the most frustrating part of the experience. The service wasn't bad, but it could definitely be more attentive, especially when the restaurant is full. Overall, the food made up for the wait, and I'd still come back. The menu is packed with trendy fusion concepts and buzzword-type dishes: Dino Ribs Pho, bone marrow fried rice, Bò Kho Poutine, chili crunch, birria tacos, lechon mashups, and all kinds of creative Vietnamese and Filipino-inspired combinations. I appreciate the creativity and some of the dishes were actually pretty good, but others really fell short. Nice little find during my visit to San Jose! It would be 5 stars but the service is a little slow (they are very nice though). The Dino rib is nice cause it's already cut and presented on the bone so you don't have to worry about nawing into a rib bone . Bone marrow was very succulent. It's been a long while since I been to D-D, so I was happy to see my usual favorite (Bo Kho) along with a whole expanded menu! My family and I ordered the Bo Kho, Dry Noodles with Shaken Beef , Taiwanese Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and the Lechon Lettuce Wrap Everything came out fast, hot, and visually appealing. Taste and quality of the food was great, with the meat juicy and tender (falling off the bone), noodles al dente, the pork and vermicelli dish well balanced. The only thing I would have liked more is if the Taiwanese chicken can be a thicker cut. I came back to D-D Delight specifically for their Dino Rib Banh Mi because the first time I had it, it was incredible. It was a massive, tender rib sandwich with a large bone you had to pull out yourself, super soft meat that melted in your mouth, and a great dipping sauce. Easily worth the ~$25. Unfortunately, this visit was a completely different experience, maybe because it was later in the evening. When the sandwich came out, it looked nothing like what I had before. There was no bone at all, the meat seemed like a completely different cut, and it was dry and tough. The bread was also burnt and overly hard. I even asked the staff if this was the correct order, and they confirmed it was. When I asked the young man about the missing bone (like in the photo), I was told they "decided to take it out to make it easier to eat," which already felt off. The food itself confirmed it... this was not the same sandwich. To make things worse, a drink we ordered didn't arrive until we were already paying the bill. When I brought up the issue while paying, I was told the picture is "just for advertising and not real." That didn't make sense since I've personally had the sandwich before exactly as shown with the rib and bone. After pointing that out, the young girl's response was basically "I'll tell the kitchen," and that was the end of it. Between the inconsistent food quality, misleading presentation, and poor service, this was a very disappointing experience. The number of highly rated reviews at D-D Delight is well deserved. For highly flavorful fusion dishes, this restaurant has you covered! Located in a small plaza, there is parking but it is shared with other stores in the plaza so I can understand why parking might be tough during peak hours and weekends. There's a lot to choose from on the food menu, let alone their drink menu is a whole page in itself. Order and pay using the QR code or you can order with a server. We went with one of their top rated drinks - the peach calamansi sparkling. It's gorgeous in its layers from the butterfly pea tea to the peach marmalade at the bottom. It's refreshing, not too sweet, and tastes natural! Great peach flavor coming through from the marmalade. I chose the shaken tofu rice plate. The tofu pieces did seem a little squished as if they lost some volume but it might be the tofu they use and how it's fried. The flavor was so delicious - strong and fragrant. The tomato rice cuts some of that flavor bomb back as it's more lightly seasoned and then the greens with pickled onions helps to round things out. The picanha sizzling steak comes with warm bread on the side to soak up all the sizzling juices and pate. Eggs, steak, fries, mushrooms - really what more could you want? The picanha was tender and slightly pink. Service was friendly and efficient. Clean and bright interior. I'd definitely return again! I was a bit confused with the food selection, since the front of the restaurant says contemporary Vietnamese but their menu had a lot of items I would find at a Filipino restaurant. Nonetheless, I am Filipino so that just meant everything sounded extra good. I ordered a steak rice plate. The steak was good with what looked like a creamier chimichurri, but the portion was on the smaller side. Also, it seems like some of the descriptions on the menu aren't followed to the T. The egg wasn't sunny side up and there was only one when the menu uses a plural. It was still good though. My husband got what we thought was a Vietnamese coffee, but based on the receipt it was just an espresso (H11). It was still very tasty, and the tiramisu cream with the lady finger was a nice touch (definitely dip it into the drink). The matcha French toast was so fluffy that it took no effort to cut with a fork, and I liked how the salted cream was on the side so we could control the ratios. Only critiques I have for the dish are that parts were noticeably burnt and the strawberries didn't seem fully ripe. Service overall was decent. I have to be honest, we tend to order from DoorDash or our food to go when we eat at DD delight. So my review is based on those orders... we really love all of their desserts, but our favorites are their sweet Bangkok and smashed avocado. Pro tip, don't mix the smashed avocado dessert. Eat it slowly while scooping chunks of avocado with every bite. We could adjust your sugar levels on most of their desserts and their food is definitely fusion. Our favorites are their pork roast sandwich and pork roast, lettuce wrap. I would also suggest ordering the beef cheek, quesobirria taco with consume! Came here on a Saturday and it was quite busy, with limited parking, so we had to park in a nearby neighborhood. My boyfriend and I ordered the lechon rice plate and the Dino ribs sizzling plate. The lechon was perfectly crispy, the rice was well cooked, and it came with a citrusy, tangy dipping sauce that complemented everything really well. The Dino ribs were served with birria sauce, tortillas, and bone marrow. The short ribs were very tender, and the bone marrow was rich and flavorful, making the dish especially satisfying. I also ordered two drinks: a passion fruit with calamansi and a pandan matcha. Both were tasty, and I really enjoyed their drink selection overall. The food was amazing, but the customer service was lacking, which is why I'm giving this place a 4/5.
