My absolute favorite pho spot--always recommend this spot whenever a friend asks for good Vietnamese food in the Bay Area. I know people who drive all the way across the bay to eat here. As any authentic Viet place, service is average, but the food is always consistent and comes out quickly. The place is usually pretty busy, sometimes with a line outside the door. Simple, no frills atmosphere. My favorite thing to get here is the Bun Thit Nuong--the pork is delicious, fatty, with grill marks, and I always crave it when I'm home. The egg rolls (cha gio) is classic delicious Vietnamese egg rolls, which I consider the best kind of egg rolls (tied with Lumpia). My parents enjoy the Pho here, and my dad usually asks to go here for celebrations. As they were born in Vietnam, I'd say it's a pretty good compliment.

I have been a hater of Pho Kim Long for the longest time because I do not like their pho or any of the noodle soup dishes. I am picky and their noodles are just way too overcooked for my liking and their broth is mid. However, all their other dishes that are not noodle soup are amazing! I usually for the bun cha Hanoi. The savory yet sweet fish sauce with charred grilled pork belly and that big piece of bouncy meatball is so delicious! Their cha ca va long is tasty too, they don't skimp on the herbs and peanuts which is a must for this dish. I recently got to tried their pho ap chao (with crispy blocked noodles) and I think I will add that to my rotation of dishes to order from here. If you are looking for the best pho, this place ain't it but if you are looking to try other amazing Vietnamese food, they have a good selection here!

Came in for a late lunch. Lucked out on a parking spot in the lot. Food was delicious and service was decent. Resraurant was clean during my visit.

A solid choice if looking for a comforting meal of pho in the winters. I liked their chicken pho so much that I dined here thrice in a month, thanks to the cold winter evenings. They have a plenty of tables for dine-in and I was honestly surprised that the tables were completely occupied on a Thursday evening. It seems to have been around for years but I was only recently introduced to it. It has now become one of my fav pho places in Milpitas. Their service is quick, staff is nice and the quality and taste of dishes is consistent. I tried their chicken pho and would recommend it. The broth had the right amount of flavor and the texture of the noodles was good. The size is pretty good too. I also tried one of their rice plates with bbq pork, but I liked the pho more than the rice plate. The pork was cooked well but quantity was less. I would be coming back here again for their pho and definitely to recommend it to others.

Service was very fast. We were seated right away. The ambiance looked clean and bright and there was staff coming around to fill the sauces on the tables. Parking is easy and right in front with a big lot. Food is chefs kiss!!!!! I would definitely come back for number 1. The broth flavor and meats are just SO good and plentiful. The beef short rib was too tendony for my liking and ended up wishing I didn't try something new. (The beef with the big bone that sticks out) Passion fruit soda was bombbbbb. I was pleasantly surprised with the drink order. Give them a try!!!

I've been coming here 22 years ago, can't believe they are still here serving the same pho. Only difference is they remodeled and the pho is 2.5x the price now. The good ole days when their regular was $6! lol. Now for about $16-$18 ish. Place was thankfully empty when we came in. We didn't have to wait and got seated right away. Ordered my rare beef and tendon pho. The broth was good. Southern style. Fragrant and beefy. Beef was soft and not chewy. The tendon was something I didn't like here. It tasted super inky. I told my husband and he said it's probably because they didn't clean it well. Everything else was good. Small lot for parking. In busy plaza.

I've been coming here with my family since I was a kid and I always thought they were good but I feel like their food and service has gotten even better over the years. The interior used to be a little rundown back then but after their remodel, it looks so much nicer! You really can't go wrong with anything you order, but their fried catfish spring rolls (Cha Ca La Vong) are the BEST thing on their menu right now. 10/10 no notes. It is so fresh and they really have the flavor down - I've tried catfish spring rolls at other restaurants but they can't even compare to the ones here. If you've never tried this before it comes out on a sizzling plate with fried catfish, dill, peanuts, onion, a side of veggies/herbs, and you wrap the spring rolls yourself. It never disappoints and we always leave satisfied. So if you've never given it a try, do yourself a favor and order this item next time.

My go to pho place in San Jose! The flavors, service, and speed is immaculate. I always get the number 13, and it is incredible. I love their appetizers and their boba drinks as well. Great place to come with colleagues for a quick bite. Even though they have a line out the door, they do amazing at getting people in and out quickly. 10/10 recommend trying it out!

Came back with some friends, excited to eat the fish again. We ordered some shrimp as the appetizer and thought it tasted great! However, when going through the lettuce, we found a live bug in the food. The servers were apologetic, but didn't seem super surprised.

Phở Kim Long is consistently one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in the San Jose area. It was busy Easter Sunday 2026, but I was able to get a table for two after waiting in line for about 10 minutes. The Bun Bo Hưe I ordered Sunday was a solid 4/5. The ample amount of noodles and meat was of high quality. The broth was okay though. Not as flavorful as broths from other Vietnamese restaurants.

Been hearing that this place has long lines since I last reviewed it. Thankfully the day I came with my coworkers there was ample seating before the crowds took over. By the time we left there really was a line out the door. Really like the broth and noodles in my soup, and their passionfruit drink with real passionfruit was really good too. So is their Thai Tea. My coworkers each got their own soup and one even ordered stir fried noodles. They get the soup bowls out real quick so this place is both fast, good, and reasonably priced. Wish it were closer to SF!

Pho is good and they give you a lot of meat! Came here on a weekday for an early lunch and was seated right away. Got the beef with tendon which is my go to and the rare meat tasted like good quality meat. Service is pretty slow though. We had to ask multiple times for something and they ended up bringing it to us after we were almost done with our meal -_- .. aside from that though, would come back if I'm in the area and looking for pho. Would suggest ordering everything you want though when you have their attention, otherwise, if you forgot to ask for something, you may be waiting for your items for awhile.

Bún bò Huế (central Vietnamese spicy beef noodle soup)
    Takumi A.

Classic Vietnamese noodle soups in the Bay Area, done with consistency Some Vietnamese restaurants don't need to advertise how long they've been around. You can sense it through the menu, the pace of the dining room, and the fact that people keep coming back without treating it like a destination. Kim Long is one of those long-standing Vietnamese noodle houses in the Bay Area. Phở xe lửa (phở đặc biệt / Vietnamese beef noodle soup) The phở xe lửa, also known as phở đặc biệt, is the baseline test for any Vietnamese beef noodle soup shop. At Kim Long, the bowl reflects confidence in both technique and ingredients. The beef slices are kept whole and intact, the tendon arrives as a full piece, properly cooked and clean, and the raw steak is generous and evenly layered. This style of pho leaves no room to hide mistakes. If the broth, beef quality, or handling were off, it would show immediately. Here, everything holds together and eats cleanly from start to finish. Bún bò Huế (central Vietnamese spicy beef noodle soup) The bún bò Huế is an old-style, fully built bowl that's becoming harder to find in the Bay Area. This central Vietnamese spicy beef noodle soup delivers depth without muddiness, built on savoriness rather than heat alone. The bowl includes bone-in pork hock, carefully cleaned and prepared, pork blood cubes, beef shank, and traditional white Vietnamese sliced meatballs. Very few Vietnamese restaurants are willing to serve pork hock on the bone, and even fewer execute it this cleanly. Bún riêu (Vietnamese crab paste tomato noodle soup) The bún riêu, a Vietnamese crab paste tomato noodle soup, is where Kim Long quietly separates itself. Dishes like this remain relatively uncommon in the U.S., and are often simplified when they do appear. Here, the balance is precise: a tomato-based broth that stays bright without becoming sharp, crab paste that's integrated rather than broken down, and a bowl that remains composed all the way through. It's not a beginner's order, but for anyone familiar with Vietnamese soups beyond pho, it makes complete sense. Supporting dishes and dining rhythm There are supporting dishes as well, such as sizzling fried fish served with fresh greens for wrapping, that complement the soups without pulling focus. During peak dining hours, the room remains orderly. Multiple staff members work the floor, and beyond serving food, tables are wiped down promptly and thoroughly. In a restaurant built around hot noodle soups, this level of attentiveness matters. What to order, depending on the mood At this point, ordering here depends on intent. For familiarity and nostalgia, phở xe lửa. For richness and intensity, bún bò Huế. And for a quiet, focused bowl, bún riêu. Kim Long isn't about extremes or trends. It's about consistency across classic Vietnamese noodle soups - and that's why it continues to work. - Dr. C Only writing for what truly earns the stars.

It also came with pickled veggies and fish sauce. I also ordered 4 of their nem nuong as not every Vietnamese spot offers this type of spring roll. These have grilled pork in them rather than pork and shrimp. It comes with its own sauce which I'm not sure what its made of. The nem nuong were delicious with the grilled pork and there is a crispy component inside, too. They taste fresh and the sauce is tangy. I like the addition of the small chili sauce they give you on the side. The real show stoppers have to be the eggrolls though. They are perfectly crispy and filled with delicious pork filling. The veggies they provide are really fresh and the pickled veggies helps to add more depth. The eggrolls themselves don't feel too heavy or oily either which I really appreciated. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly when I was picking up. Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot and can imagine how their party trays must be a big hit!

The fish sauce that came with the plate was sweet. That wasn't something I expected. It did help the moisten the pork. The egg rolls we ordered were not hot at all. The inside were soft and mushy.
