Visited Pho Ha Noi on a Sunday around 1:20 during the late lunch rush with party of 2. We were seated in about 15 minutes, and the place was nearly full. Staff were friendly, efficient, and attentive the whole time. We got the Pho Ga (thigh) with flat noodles. The broth was clean, flavorful, and had good body without being greasy or heavy, exactly the northern style I was looking for! The chicken was cooked perfectly. We also got the Bun Cha, which is one of our go‑to dishes at Vietnamese restaurants. It was refreshing and very tasty, especially with all the vegetables they give you. I love the aroma from the mint and shiso leaves that cuts through the richness of the meatballs and grilled pork perfectly. Pho Ha Noi has a bunch of locations in San Jose, Fremont and Milpitas, maybe more. I've been to the Milpitas location twice, both times the place was packed but I was able to get seated without a long wait. I was recommended this place a friend whom is Vietnamese and grew up in San Jose, which tends to have really good Vietnamese because it has the largest Vietnamese community in the Bay Area/Northern CA. They have a wide range of beef noodle soups, chicken noodle soups as well as bun/vermicelli bowls and rice plates. I've had the pho beef noodle soups both times I've been, one time with the bone-in short rib, another time with the P1 Combo Noodle Soup. They offer fresh noodles (wide noodles) or the normal pho (thin) noodles, I've had both before. My wife recently had their pork bun vermicelli which the pork was tender and the ingredients fresh. Their side of fish sauce was warm which I had never seen before, but it helped tie the ingredients together. Also highly recommend their chicken wings which came out piping hot and had good flavors to it. One thing my friend did once which I didn't know was possible, he ordered chicken pho with the beef broth, I'm not sure if that's a common thing but maybe I'd try that next time. Good food, but the service requires a little patience. We stopped by Pho Ha Noi in Milpitas. It is a clean, spacious place with plenty of parking in the lot, making it an easy visit. Our dishes were: Dry Vermicelli with Grilled Pork & Egg Roll: very delicious, especially mixed with that sweet fish sauce dressing. Shaking Beef Rice Plate: The beef was quite good, though the tomato rice served with it was not great. Classic Combination Pho: A total classic that you can never go wrong with. Yum! They're a pretty busy spot here but somehow the staff still manage to check in frequently. The interior is cute with plenty of seating, but do be prepared to wait if you're here on a weekend. I know everybody raves about the pho here (rightfully so) but their chicken wings are a must-try!! They are perfectly fried without being too greasy, and tossed in a sweet and savory fish sauce glaze. The chicken was juicy too. WORTH EVERY PENNY! I've been to the Cupertino location but did not know there was a Milpitas location! Hands down - I would prefer Milpitas over the Cupertino one any day after today's dinner! Only been to Vietnam town location. First time to Milpitas location even though I worked in Milpitas lol Came to have lunch with my boss and was impressed by how big the restaurant is. Since it was lunch hour, the restaurant was quite full, but we were still able to be seated promptly. I ordered S13 - Spicy Hue Noodle with 20 oz Beef Short Rib. Food were served less than 5 minutes and the portion was decent. The soup bowl doesn't look that big but I couldn't finish at the end. The short rib came with a "BIG" surprised lol cuz the size is REALLY BIG!!!! Soup base tastes good and there is a lot of meat just from the rib itself. They also came with a few slices of Vietnamese ham. Luckily there not much other meat, otherwise I would have a lot to pack. I also ordered their Ube Coffee, maybe it's not my cup of tea, I don't really taste Ube. I think Pho Hanoi is my favorite pho spot. There's no mistaking it anymore. The meats are extremely tender, the restaurant is spacious and nicely decorated, and the menu has so many other great options in addition to pho. I came in a Saturday lunch and here was a 15 minute wait for a party of 2. Make sure you wait inside, not outside, because they don't call the waitlist names to the outside. My go-to is the #1 Pho Dac Biet. The meats are tender and plentiful. At other pho spots there's always at least one meat that's kinda tough but that isn't the case here. I love that pho comes with culantro! I really like the shredded rare steak (tai), but my complaint is that my broth didn't come hot enough to fully cook it. Also wish they had tripe! read more

We're treated with love and respect here and their chicken pho is our absolute favorite which is why we visit their Milpitas venue atleast once a week especially during the cold draft South Bay is experiencing. Their chicken thigh pho is delicious. The broth doesn't taste packaged even though it is and there is good flavor in the chicken thighs. The original noodles go classically with the chicken thigh broth and the addition of Thai basil and their secret house made chilli oil and chopped red chillis makes a world of difference. They do mess up our order sometimes like today for example, January 10th for lunch we ordered 2 large chicken thigh pho and we got the chicken breast pho and my pho was lukewarm. I expect my pho to be hot temperature wise otherwise there is no use. I always give them the benefit of the doubt but they do mess up quite a bit when they are busy. They should figure out this situation. Today they brought out two small bowls the thigh pho on the side to mix with the lukewarm pho. I had to send the lukewarm one back coz I cannot eat cold pho. The pho in the small bowls tasted completely different from what was in my main bowl earlier. This is disappointing. This is the second time something like this has happened. We visit quite often thanks to the proximity of this location to our home. Most of their menu items have a lot of beef so we stick to chicken. This location replaced the old Craw Daddy that didn't work out and has been here for about a year. Located off of Abel Street in Milpitas, Pho Ha Noi took over what used to be Crawdaddy 2. Parking is super annoying over the weekend- not only because of the heavy traffic flow but because large cars are squeezing into parking spots specifically labeled for "compact". The eagerness and hunger must be too damn real!! I hurry up and add our name to the growing waitlist. 3 out of the 5 were physically there so I was anticipating on being continually pushed back until the rest of the crew arrived. Nothing over the top or memorable. The pho broth was okay, I've most definitely had better. For 3 large bowls of pho, the amount of veggies/herbs provided was super stingy! The bun thit nuong was good but it was funny how we couldn't add grilled shrimp to our bowl even with the restaurant having shrimp on their menu. The imperial rolls had to be the most useless and uncalled for buy. At $8.25 an order, you get 2 eggrolls that are sopping wet in oil. First visit to this location. I'm a big fan of this chain and normally I visit the SJ or Palo Alto locations. First impression was that it is quite large and roomy inside! Reminded me of Ha Noi restaurants, comfortingly nostalgic. We could see the bar and kitchen from our table, and I'm was quite impressed by how orderly and clean it was! We arrived an hour before closing: we were quickly seated and the server arrived to take our order immediately even though the restaurant was still quite busy. We were disappointed to hear the specials were sold out (not sure why they gave us the 2 special menus in this case) and they had run out of their fresh noodles already. Given that information, I decided to order the shaken beef with tomato rice but was disappointed again when my dish arrived with chicken rice instead without pre warning. When I pointed this out to the waiter, he didn't offer any alternatives other than surprise the kitchen must have also ran out of tomato rice and he just walked away. I know it's just rice but I love their tomato rice and was really looking forward to it! It was awkward and I expect more from this customer friendly chain. When paying our bill, I asked they inform customers of substitutions ahead of time and they did take $3 off for the rice. I appreciated the gesture. We also ordered phos which hit the spot despite the fresh noodles run out. Honestly I was surprised to hear so many options and ingredients were sold out (we attempted to order other menu items and were also denied!) as it's never happened to us at the other locations or Vietnamese restaurants in general. The soup was too hot for us but it helped the steak become medium. The rolls were quite ok with 3 kinds of sauce, but we loved the peanut sauce the most. The crispy sticky was something good to try but the chicken needs more sauce. When we asked for more sauce, the lady quickly brought it. We shared the foods and it was enough for 4 adults. The total price was reasonable. When I asked the lady server about the tip, she said that was optional. She also said that the owner fairly distributed to everyone. I liked it. The meat was good but I dont like the cut of rare steak that they had. The broth didnt feel like it had as much depth as I had hoped. Their sriracha is also really spicy and the bean sprouts they gave felt a little soft already even before throwing it into the soup. The service was okay. Ordering was very fast but the service after was a bit slow. I think they needed more staff for a Monday lunch because it took us awhile to be able to ask for napkins and the bill. Their take on Northern style Vietnamese pho is unique and nails a complex yummy and tangy broth that really doesn't need the extra sauce which is rare. Piping hot pho to help warm the stomach which is contrary to what a lot of past reviews complained about. This spot is a new favorite in town and I feel so happy with the food and services that they are a good competitor for other spots here in Milpitas. Dining space here is nice and spacious with nostalgic tunes, and I hope they are here to stay for a long time because I will frequent here more often. read more

I usually eat the rice plate so I decided to give pho a try since I love Pho Ha Noi in other locations. The meat for bone in beef pho was actually wuite more tough than I expected (couldn't chew, so I had to cut the meat using scissors). The broth flavor was good and there were generous portion of food. The service was great though, the server Danny was kind and fast at serving us food. There were lots of tables inside and parking was okay to find. If the meat was tender, I would have given 5/5. read more

not all pho ha nois are the same. this one is very clean, decorated, big, and no lines. the menu seemed a bit different but i always go for the giant dinosaur bone which they had. the food quality tasted similar, i think the only location not great was the palo alto one. the service was actually really good for most of the meal, we accidentally spilled water and they came quick to clean it up. but then when we were done and asked for boxes, they took forever to give us the check. not sure why restaurants do that when dont they want you in and out so they can serve the next party? the parking lot is a decent size since its in a strip mall. read more
