Ani Ramen is a decent ramen shop. The Ramen is not amazing out of this world, but it was pretty good and it satisfies the cravings. Given that there is not many ramen shops in New Rochelle, I would consider coming back here. I also had a kimchi bao bun, and it was amazing. This is something I would consider coming back for. Shoutout to the staff, Jhosue, for supporting me as I navigated through the menu. He is knowledgeable about the popular items on the menu and even considers what kind of flavors I lean towards before making a recommendation. I appreciate the patients like the staff here. The scene is this somber night in the Japanese lights. It's a cool vibe and nice aesthetic. I enjoy the Japanese feel of the wall art and the moody lighting in the bar. This place would be fit for a casual dinner solo or with some friends. I am a harsh grader. The food here was definitely on point. The Kimichi pulled pork Bao Buns was the best thing on the appetizer. Possibly good enough for a main course. This is my second time going to Ani Ramen house and I would return a third time. We ordered apps ; miso sake chicken wings and edamame. I got the Birria Ramen. My brother got the short rib Ramen. My mom got a chicken bowl. We ordered a lychee-tini a seltzer and passionfruit fo'jito (mocktail). We went on Mother's Day and it was easy to get a seat. The staff was quick and helpful. Sometimes some hot, tasty ramen is all you need! I ordered this through DoorDash, but it's honestly the best ramen delivery I've ever had. Please see photos, but it was so organized, sealed tight, didn't spill everywhere, and was so easy to assemble. No mess or mayhem! I got the chef's special reman: chicken broth, shoyu tare (base), chili paste, chives, garlic, onion, ginger, lemongrass, shallot, pork belly, scallions, and cabbage. Had it with an ajitama (24 hour marinated 6 minute egg), which was warm and delightfully gooey. I also ordered a side of kae dama (ramen noodles without the fanfare) and they were a great filling snack later! The kurobuta sausage was crispy with a twist of sweet and spicy. Ani Ramen has multiple types of ramen (including vegan ramen), edamame, salads, bao buns, rice bowls (and the meat looks awesome--just the right amount of char and spice), sides of veggies including garlicky yu chow, mushrooms, marinated bamboo, soy glazed chicken. Ramen was 19.50. The sausage was 10 bucks (it was good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to order it again--too many good choices on this menu). My son and I stopped in (3/26) and ordered with the hostess (forgot to get her name). She was very nice and patient. I wasn't really sure how the ramen menu worked so it took a minute to figure out what to get for myself and my Little. The hostess explained everything and didn't rush us or make us feel like we were taking forever to order (when we kind of were). Once we placed our order, we headed to the bar. The decor is very funky. I like the vibe of this place. I can see them being very busy on the weekends, with a very mixed crowd of all ages. We arrived closer to closing so there weren't many people dining in but people were definitely coming in to pick up tons of delivery and takeaway, and a few groups also came in for tables. That's always a good sign. We sat at the bar and wanted to try a few of their drinks because we checked out the menu beforehand and they have some interesting cocktails. Matthew was bartending and I was interested in his suggestions. He said a fave of his was the Butter Me Up Old Fashion, made with two whiskeys, apple bitters and cinnamon. It tasted very nice. It was smooth and sultry. My son got the Shiso Cucumber Sour and that was very nice as well. It's a perfect warm weather drink. It's got a kick from some jalapeño, and a fresh, crisp zing, from the lemon and cucumber. Sooo good! We also shared a Kawaii Spritz, which we enjoyed, but was a bit too sweet for me. Very tasty, though, and my son loved it. I wish they had to-go cups because hubby would have enjoyed one of their bevvies. They have a surprisingly large Japanese whiskey menu, with many specialty cocktails to be had. The manager passed us our food when it was ready, we finished our drinks and headed home. The food was packaged with intention. Everything was neat and tidy. I love attention to detail when it comes to ensuring that an order makes it to its intended destination in one piece. The food was good. The portion sizes are smaller than were used to, but we made due. Grub Rundown: Soy-Glazed Chicken Don Buri Bowl - hubby chose this item. He liked it but was very disappointed to see how small it was. Normally when we order din buri bowl, the size is about 2X the that of the one he received. I would suggest they make a larger portion and tack on a couple more dollars to the price. It was like a kid's meal size. Luckily, we had some extras so he had supplemental grub to satisfy his hunger. Shoyu Ramen - I ordered this for my Little. All of the ramen has kakuni (pork belly) in the description but you can sub for other proteins. The menu was a little confusing which is why it took us a minute to figure out how to order. They list the alternate proteins as "add-ons/sides", and, "make it your own", depending upon which menu you're going off of, so it was very confusing to know how it worked. I subbed chicken for her and kept it simple. She loved it and it was the perfect size for her. Spicy Miso - both my son and I got this style ramen. We both added umami bombs and soft boiled eggs (kind of bummed the eggs aren't an automatic in the bowl but understandable with the current prices of eggs, I guess). He had the kakuni and I subbed chicken for mine. They tasted OK. I've definitely had better ramen but it was decent. The spicy could have been spicier. I wish I asked for some chili oil on the side like I usually do. Again, the serving size is crazy small. We're used to twice the size, usually having leftovers, especially for the price. Bao Buns - we ordered the shrimp and the pork belly bao buns. They were decent-sized, two per order, and each order is $10. The shrimp buns were good but could have had a bit more sauce and cabbage. The pork belly buns were not a fave for me. The pork belly did not that great a flavor. I expected it to be nicely seared with some color and texture. The sauce made them taste like it was tuna fish (like canned, chicken of the sea, tuna). My son thought it was on and did not agree, but hubby and I were on the same concensus. We all agreed that the belly definitely needed a sear and a more smokey, charred flavor. All in all, I would definitely be back. I'm intrigued to try their miso sake wings that are only available Iimited quantities, and that you can only enjoy them if you dine in to eat them. Exclusivity is definitely one way to spark interest in a menu item. I also very much like their bar and want to try out some of their slushie drinks. With NYS allowing to-go drinks, I hope they get some plastic cups with covers to allow for that. I wanted to order a yuzu lemonade for my Little but they didn't have anything to put it in. I also wanted to take home a boozy fruit slush for each of the grown-ups but again, nothing to pack it in. Hopefully this changes in the future. We've been here about a couple dozen times and ordered delivery a few times as well. It's usually me and my kids, who can be a tad rowdy. So, it's always been very delicious and the servers are lovely and patient. Since we've been going, I've noticed some familiar faces among the staff each time, which is nice to see (employee retention). We ordered takeout delivery over the weekend, and an item was missing. When I came by on Sunday, they immediately put in a replacement order for the missing item (and we stayed to eat more). I was with my 8 year old son and his friend, who were mostly calm (but again they've always been patient and our server was superbly professional). Ani Ramen is a great spot in town, the food is excellent but the vibe is chill and relaxed. It's good for adults alone or families. And they usually put us towards the back, so we likely won't disrupt your meal if it's "one of those days" with the kids ;-) read more

But Asian food is by far my favorite. So I was super excited to try Ani Ramen We went on a Monday evening shortly after they opened for dinner. We were able to walk right in and choose a table. The location was beautiful. The waitress let me know that the art on the wall incorporated photos of the owner's family; it was so cool! We started with a blubbery Japanese soda which the waiter coached my son on how to open; he was super excited. Then we ordered a few Bao Buns and little bites. We ordered the pork belly and panko shrimp Bao Buns. The Bao buns were perfect; super flavorful! I could have eaten 20 of those on my own but then came out the crispy miso-sake wings and the edamame, and OMG, I did not think I was going to make it to the actual ramen! Everything was DELICIOUS. It was all super well seasoned and flavorful. Finally we ordered our Ramen. We ended up trying Ani Ramen and the Chefs special. I added a few shrimp to mine and my sister added ajitama. One was a pork bone broth and the other was a chicken broth; both were very very yummy! Overall I give Ani Ramen a 10 out of 10. The service, the ambiance, the music and the food were all great! Updating review now that I've visited a few more times. The ramen is still pretty solid and I would recommend, but the other menu items are lacking. The karaage was not crunchy and not very flavorful. Had better at the Hmart food court for less $. The chicken rice bowl was pretty paltry and need more of everything...protein, sauce and etc. I didn't get the baos because they looked small for $10. We had a long wait at our most recent visit. Dined at this new Ramen house on a Saturday afternoon with reservations made online at Resy as the website recommended making one. Arrived on time and was seated at the table. The menu is not large but enough options for several Ramen bowls including a special and a Vegan option. The chicken broth for the Shoyu ramen was delicious. I asked if the Ajitama came with the soup as it wasn't in the description. I was told it's an add-on. I've never had to add it at other establishments unless I wanted a second Ramen egg. The add on is $2. The egg was cooked perfectly, creamy with lots of flavor but really, it's not included? I ordered extra pork belly and was sorry I had as it was a bit dry before I added to my soup. They did not add the extra into the broth but rather served it on a side plate. The noodles were ok, my favorite part of the soup was the broth and the egg. My Uncle added on the fried tofu at an additional $2. for his Vegan Ramen. After tasting it, I wish I had ordered it instead of the extra pork belly. My Mom had the Mazemen (brothless) bowl which she enjoyed but after tasting my broth wish she had ordered with broth. Pork belly bao buns were just ok. Pork could have been a lot crispier and flavorful. All the flavor was coming from the spicy mayo sauce on top which was rather heavy handed. I've had much better pork belly bao buns. They have newly opened so you can expect hiccups. When I asked about several items the servers had to go check and return. On several occasions we flagged down the wait staff and was told they'd be back and sometimes they returned other times we had to flag them again. Mom and Uncle needed a knife and a fork, more water, things of that nature. If you're looking for free Wi-Fi, they don't provide it. I asked a waiter for the password which he did not know and was going to check. He walked by our table several times but did not approach our table with that information so I flagged him again. Late post. It was my first time to attend (and got lucky) a Yelp event and it was really good one and was held in Ani Ramen in Larchmont. The vibe was really great being surrounded with co-Yelpers with their +1s. Good food, good people, and a good conversation is a must for me, and this set my preferred environment. For the Japanese foodie connoisseur, be nice. This is a Japanese inspired ramen house and not a 100% authentic. Nevertheless, the food they serve were amazing, and the staffs were really great. I went into Anis Ramen today for lunch. While the service was great, the ramen is something that needs improvement in my opinion. We had the Bao buns with kimchi as an appetizer and then proceeded with the Chef's special which has the chicken broth and I added extra noodles and chicken. While the spice was just right on the broth, the noodles were overly spiced on their own. Not enough broth was added to the bowl for the amount of noodles. They charge extra for eggs. (‍) The chicken tasted as if it belonged in a teriyaki bowl and not a broth. The ambience I must say was pretty awesome, the entry had origami curtains to the side and overall, it seems like a great casual place for some broth on a rainy day. I enjoyed Ani Ramen for the first time during a Yelp Event. I love a spicy marg so I went with the Shinyu Sour and I LOVED it! My brother had the Moshi Moshi and said it was very good. The chicken karaage was incredible. The edamame was cool and different. If heaven were a food, it would be Ani Ramen Bao Buns. Fluffy like a cloud and tastes like it was hand crafted by an angel. The sauce reminded me of spicy mayo on sushi. I had both the pork belly and the fried tofu. Ashley, who was so attentive and informative, suggested the brisket ramen, as this is not always on the menu. I'm glad I trusted the suggestion because WOW it was delicious. My wife has been saying it, I've been saying it, and all the waiters at Ani Ramen told us that all patrons tell them the same thing--it was about time for Larchmont to have its own good ramen place. And citizens of Larchmont, you will not be disappointed. The service in the beginning was a little chaotic and it took sometime for us to order. But the staff did realize at some point that the ball was being dropped and immediately tried to make up for it. Everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. As we entered the restaurant, I felt that the music was a bit too loud and not of my taste, particularly for lunch time. Not sure if the music was turned down or If homeostatic adaptation kicked in, but it did not bother me as much for the remainder of my lunch. This may have been an unwelcoming sign that I am getting old. The food. The porky buns were the highlight of the experience. My framework to rate food/restaurants is: can I do better? Would i want to replicate it at home? Does it tingle the brain? Does it make me happy? The buns certainly met all criteria, particularly the 'tingling the brain' criteria. The noddle were firm and well cooked. The broth was rich. I have only two criticism of the ramen. The pieces of pork belly were at a different temperature (colder) when compared to the broth. I would have liked them at the same temperature. And the ajitsuke egg had to be ordered separately. Happy to see a ramen place (along with other tasty Asian dishes) in Larchmont, including delicious, crispy kaarage. The ramen broths are decent (They don't taste like the deeply flavorful stocks one might find at a more authentic establishment) and in a pinch it will do. The add-ons, like enoki mushrooms, only enhance the dish. Our servers were terrific -- attentive and fast. The main and fairly significant drawback to this place is the insanely loud and obnoxious music that they insist on playing. It was difficult for our group to hear each other, and the noise from the speakers above and around us really made the overall enjoyment of our dinner there very difficult. I would give this place two stars if the food wasn't as good as it was.
