This is a friendly, bustling restaurant on Glenwood that offers indoor and outdoor dining. They have a beautiful window that opens to the street so you can enjoy the view. Food service is quite fast and the food very fresh; the bread of my banh mi was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. I had the BBQ pork, which was sweet and flavorful without being overpowering. Our helpful waitress offered suggestions and answered all of our questions. My friend enjoyed lemongrass noodles with an iced coffee which she said was amazing. The noodles come with a side of chili oil (which adds great flavor). Abuse Pho also offers bubble tea, but I did not have that. Definitely a great place to enjoy Vietnamese!!! read more

I have had good pho and I have had bad pho. The pho here definitely fell into the "good" category! The broth was very flavorful and I love that they offer and chicken and vegetable option - most places only offer separate chicken pho or vegetable pho. Personally, I find a bowl of noodles and meat to be lacking something, so I am glad that they offered a vegetable and meat option. The portion sizes are very big here, and the service was quick! Delivery review! Ordered dinner one night when we were really craving pho and found Anise Pho! Food was so good, still hot, and arrived quickly. We ordered the Pot Stickers (yummm), the pho (so good and tasty), and threw in the Spicy Lemongrass Salad Noodle Bowl and holy moly that was our favorite. The chicken seasoning with the lemongrass was out of this world. Would love to eat in person here in the future and will definitely be ordering again! read more

Literally the best Pho I have had in the Triangle! The place is small but we loved the open windows as it made it feel bigger. We tried a variety of items and all of them were great. We will be back! The food is always, always good. However we have seen a blow to the cleanliness.. we have been coming to this particular spot for around 2 years now. We frequent all the shops in raleigh to see who is the best and one in Morrisville. We have been to Oxtail Pho, Saigon Pho, Pho Far East, Pho Express (Durham), Midtown Pho, Taste of Vietnam (Morrisville), Uptown Pho and this one had the best flavor. But where it begin to stick out in flavor it took a hit to cleanliness and quality. The bathrooms are atrocious. The area beside the bathroom that leads to the kitchen looks disgusting, there are consistently gnats and flies flying around so you can't too much enjoy your food without the fear of something landing for too long, and for the most disgusting thing yet, I have attempted to stir my noodles around in my broth, to find an onion almost like it had been used in another bowl of pho. The onion was slimy and already had meat residue on it. A weird and distinct contrast to the clearly fresh and white onions on top. Also, the SANITATION RATING is telling. We have seen it go from a 95 to a 90. A NINETY!!!!!! It's so disgusting, disturbing and disappointing because who is going to hold them accountable for the continued downtrend of cleanliness. Congratulations downtown Raleigh! After so many years, about time you have a nice quality and delicious bowl of Pho! Pho restaurants has come in and out on this famous strip of eateries on Glenwood. Most restaurants with Pho on their menu has never made it out alive. I hope that Aroma continues to live and shine brightly as part of the food options on this street. My windows was opened as I drove past the restaurant, trying to find parking. I was able to smell the aromatic spices as I drove pass the restaurant. Now, I understand why the restaurant is named "Aroma". I stopped in after work on a Wednesday evening. There were only another party eating at the time. I was seated right away and given a menu. I was able to receive $2 off the potstickers with my Yelp check-in. The potstickers were amazing. I also ordered the brisket pho. Pho Pros: - The broth was refreshing! It has a light beef flavor followed by a sweet and aromatic taste. This is my kind of Pho! If you like your Pho more on the beefy side, you may not like this. - Nice cut of brisket, lots of meat! - Just the right amount of condiments Pho Cons: - I don't like beansprout in my Pho. I discovered it on the bottom of my bowl. I didn't see any signage or description that it automatically came with it? I prefer that it came on the side. It also changes the flavor of the soup. Great service this evening. When I asked for "no noodles" in my pho, the young lady behind the counter was puzzled. Yep, I'm on a keto diet and there are no noodles and no rice. So she asked if extra meat was okay and that's definitely okay. My pho only took a few minutes to be brought to me. A large bowl, well stuffed with shaved beef and meatballs and bean sprouts. Dinner was Pho-abalous! we've at at many pho restaurants and this one landed top 3! The only complaint my table had was there wasn't enough bean sprouts in their pho and they would have rather had them come out alone instead of under the noodles. I think that's a preference though, didn't change the taste or quality. Matcha green tea was AMAZING. also ordered a bottle of moscato wine as they were 50% off, didn't make sense to buy 2 glasses. Disappointing :/ We have been coming here for years and it seems that since they changed ownership the food quality has gone way downhill. None of the dishes are prepared the way they used to be. The spring rolls now come with half the amount of shrimp for the same price, the beef in the steak pho is chewy and sliced way too thick. I just picked up some bun today and it had very little flavor. Pretty much just plain chicken with noodles and shredded lettuce... hardly any other veggies. Was served with a few whole peanuts... used to come with lots of them finely chopped and the fish sauce used to have a lot more flavor. They didn't include the chili oil I asked for, which would have helped. Seems they have had a lot of staff turnover which may be to blame but I will probably just start making the drive up Capital to get some decent Vietnamese food! read more

Let me just start with the ambience, it's a so calming and the music makes you feel like you're the main character in a Studio Ghibli movie! I've come here a handful of times and they just don't miss! I can't remember the exact protein but my friends and I have tried a few and they're all delicious. The bread looks like it may be hard but it's so easy to bite into and doesn't make my jaw hurt after a few bites. The little soup is soul warming and with the fries really completes the meal. We love this place for takeout. The pho is just fantastic. The chicken spring rolls are amazing as is the peanut sauce. Everything is fresh and flavorful. The dumplings are also fantastic. They don't skimp on ingredients. They include lots of basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños, sauce with their pho. Generous portions, and frickin delicious! The rice noodles are cooked perfectly and one only needs to throw them in a pot with the broth after delivery for a minute, and you'll think you're in the restaurant. We really enjoy all of the apps, but the pho itself is the centerpiece -- truly authentic and a reason for us to crave coming back for more! read more

Anise Pho is a newer option for authentic Vietnamese food near downtown Raleigh. Offering up the usual banh mi, bun (rice noodles), com (rice) and pho (soup), Anise Pho brings all the usual great flavors of Vietnamese food to all their dishes. I've tried their brisket pho, grilled beef summer rolls and banh mi which have all been solid. Decor is muted but pleasant and service has been excellent during my visits to Anise Pho. Came here on Friday night. Pretty quiet. The decor was nice. I love the pictures on the roof. The meal was decent but not as authentic as I'd like. The eggs rolls - skin was a bit thick. But veggie inside tasted good Combo noodle soup - $2 extra than other pho places but the portion is not big. Decent taste. My hubby needed another bang mi to be fulfilled. It's decent. There's a lack of authentic, and I mean authentic, Vietnamese food in the triangle. Unfortunately, this place is not changing that fact but it's not bad or anything. It's clearly tailored to a certain audience but I think it's fine since it isn't egregiously adulterated. I probably have higher than the average customer standards since I'm Vietnamese so take that for what it is. Need the full herb plate experience for pho. I came in here for lunch during the Triangle Restaurant week and was so pleased with the service. There were two of us in our party. You can find street parking or go around the back and park in the structure, remember the parking spot number, and tell the server your number and they'll take care of parking for you. Easy! I got the pork banhmi sandwich and was pleased to find a cup of pho soup that came with it. I got the side of fries and found it to be too salty or "too much" in combination with the sandwich, but still tasted good. I wouldn't say this is authentic, but it is good quality food with friendly service. The pho soup broth was really good and will consider ordering a pho dish next time. The triangle restaurant week offered $15 lunch special for a lot of food. I did manage to see that they have great lunch specials from Monday to Friday for about $10 you'll get a nice meal. read more

We were looking for a better pho option in the area as the local ones in Cary/Apex have not been the best. This place is located with a lot of restaurants in downtown Raleigh. Parking is limited but there is a huge parking garage behind all the restaurants. Service at this place is always very quick and efficient. Only drawback would say it does not appear it's the cleanest establishment. They also do you place the bean sprouts in to the bottom of the pho. Unlike other places which place on the plate and for you to add it yourself. Now the pho. The broth is one of the better ones that I've had in the area. They do give you a very large portion of meat along with a very large bowl which is standard. We've also had the eggrolls which were phenomenal. read more

The broth was not authentic and very bland. It didn't taste like the spices had been toasted. For a place with "anise" in the name of the restaurant it was pretty sad that you couldn't even taste the star anise in the broth. Although the meat and vegetables were very fresh, the noodles tasted like they had been frozen. The fresh spring rolls were also not authentic and the pork in the rolls had a strange marinade. I've had pho in Vietnam so this was very underwhelming. The decor inside was beautiful. Probably won't be back. read more
