This place is excellent. A friend brought me here recently for what he said was the best East Asian food in the Milwaukee. I think he may be right. The small dining area was empty when we arrived at opening time and full by the time we finished. He ordered a lamb korma and said it was amazing. The naan was fresh, warm and fluffy. My malai kofta was light, tasty and had a rich, nuanced sauce. Now I want to try everything on the menu. The food is also halal. You can pull up the menu on your cell phone and vegetarian and carnivorous options abound. No alcohol is served.

Pro Tip: Don't worry about ordering too much. The leftovers are even better the next day Anmol is a great restaurant with a lot of vegetarian and vegan options. The curries are packed with flavor and even the basmati rice is flavorful as you can tell by the aromatic spices like whole cloves and cinnamon that you'll want to pick out before eating. This restaurant also offers #halal options for those with dietary restrictions. Prices were fair and I feel like we got a lot of value in quantity and flavor based on what we paid. The restaurant also offers multiple styles of samosas which are both amazing and unique. Thankfully we had some leftover to heat up the next day. After sitting overnight and marinating even further, the leftovers were so good I wished I had ordered more food just to enjoy it the next day!

There are few things that could be counted on anymore. Anmol proved to be one of them. Even during these unusual times, they stayed consistent with their options and quality. Like most of us, food always had been a comfort thing for me and it would have been more disappointing if I could not find delicious food when I was craving it. Their haleem is easily one of the best I had in the US. Each of their dishes have their own unique flavor. Never had a bad or sub-par biryani from them.

This spot right here is legit! It's great that Milwaukee has a place that serves Pakistani & Indian Halal cuisine and they don't disappoint. I've ordered from here many times and have always been satisfied with the wide assortment and array of dishes they offer. The Chicken Tikka is one of their most popular dishes and the tandoori masala it's marinated in is rich and flavorful. If you want to try a number of things I highly suggest ordering the Anmol Platter: Chicken Tikka, Chicken Boti, Seekh kabab, and Reshmi Malai. The Vegetable Samosas also rock! Order the Garlic Naan to compliment these dishes and I promise your belly will be full and content.

Regretfully, I have to give this place 1 star. This used to be my absolute favorite Indian restaurant when I lived in Milwaukee. I've lived in many cities in many states and nothing ever compared. I wished I wouldn't have tainted my memory with this visit. I ordered my usual dish, Shrimp Masala, and it was awful. The once red creamy &red curry was orange and oily. It had zero flavor, smelled funky, and the shrimp tasted off. When I informed the owner, I was simply met with a smug, "nothing has changed" as he walked away. Disappointed is an understatement. They've upgraded their furniture. but the food quality has went down hill.

On the way back from Madison to Chicago I wanted to stop by Milwaukee for a dinner break. Randomly searched for halal restaurants and Anmol came up as an option with good reviews. At first I thought this is the second restaurant of Anmol in Chicago but the owner confirmed it's not. I didn't have high hopes hearing that but the food quality and service at this restaurant beat all my expectations - chapati, naan, chicken makhani, chicken/goat karahi and bhindi were all great. Even the chai and dessert (gulab jamun) was freshly made and amazing. This is a hidden gem in the area and highly recommended. Too bad I don't live in Chicago else this would have been a repeat for me even if I had to drive an hour for that to Milwaukee

Our first time at Anmol was by chance. We were on a drive to Door County, wanted something Indian and dropped in based on Yelp reviews. An hour later we trooped out - happy tummies and totally wanting to revisit. That first visit we had Garlic Naan, Onion Kulcha, Shahi Paneer and Dal Makhani. Delicious, Comforting and Honest food. We stay 1+ hour away from here but I would make that drive just for their breads - the Kulchas and Naans are really one of the best around here. Soft, not chewy and every bite full of flavor. During another visit recently we had the breads, Channa Dal and Mutton Biryani. The Channa Dal was different but a good kind of different. Mildy tangy, Well spiced and comforting. I could imagine someone lovingly making it in the kitchen. A tad oily but I was ok with that considering the taste. The biryani was good too. Tender meat, Perfect separate long grain rice and a wonderful blend of the masala. If the food won us over, the friendly welcoming service is an added bonus. Anmol has now become a favorite.

Great selection of a few, expertly made dishes - most being vegetarian. Fun fact, the chicken dish usually runs out first. It's a lunch place and only open for a few hours each day, M-F. Pro tip - come at 11am to ensure you get your top meal choice. Sometimes I come through at 1:30pm (they close at 2pm) and there's really not much left. The portions are decent for lunch - two "mains" like I usually get daal and paneer plus basmati rice. That will run you $14 (without tip). The spice level is always very nice meaning there's heat but it doesn't overwhelm (at least I don't think it does; with the caveot being I love spicy food). People rave about the green sauce but I think the meal is always tasty without it. There's seating available if you want to dine in but everything is served in styrofoam and easily can be taken to go. I'm glad this place exists downtown and provides an excellent alternative to Third Ward dining options / meat-centric cuisine. The only potential issue you'll have is parking. Street parking in Milwaukee can be a pain especially in the summer but metered parking close by during the week isn't too hard to find. Let's just say don't let it deter you from giving this place a try.

That suited us as we were low on time and on our way to an event. Service was efficient and polite - a one man crew up front had everything easily under control. The atmosphere is spare and pretty basic, but that doesn't take away from the food experience. My mom's beef dish came out sizzling and spicy. She enjoyed it and the generous portions means she brought a lot home for an additional meal. BF had chicken tikka, which he also enjoyed. He's usually a lamb guy, but he finished his dish happily. I enjoyed my paneer - it had a good heat level and abundant fresh , whole spices and fresh ginger spears. It was not the more common creamy, mushy spinach, but a fresher version that I presume was more typically Pakistani. I had plenty for two meals. Our breads were good. My cheese bread tasted like cheese pizza and couldn't be terribly authentic, but hey - cheese and bread can't be wrong. Mom enjoyed a plain lassi. I did order a side of rice and was happy to have it with my dish, and while it was a generous portion, the price seemed a little high for a side. I would certainly eat at Peshawar again. Very good food with no bells and whistles.
