I have to try more of the menu to give a proper assessment of it over all but on a first visit, the owner (I believe his name was Thomas) was very courteous and engaging despite that fact that he was busy having the phone ring off the hook and a restaurant full of customers. I digress, you will have a difficult time finding a better slice shop anywhere on this side of the hill so if you're in the studio city, sherman oaks, Noho area, this spot is 100% worth giving a chance. I got a slice of pepperoni and it was good (again, I need to order an entire pie fresh before I can really give a full, honest assessment). The ingredients seemed consistent with what I'd expect from a place that takes pizza seriously. Onto the pasta. I wanted to sample the pasta because, I was there for the first time so, why not? I asked what the best was and was told either the Rigatoni Vodka or the Rigatoni Ragu; I went with the ragu. This is where it fell just a tad bit short for me... it's $26.00 I believe and in terms of taste, it's not bad but honestly, tastes like a standard bolognese that you could get at any average italian american place, so a bit underwhelming. The description sounded so appetizing and the product itself was just okay for me. In any event this was my first impression, I really liked the owner and my pepperoni slice was good but I feel like in order to give it a full and honest assessment that's fair to the establishment, I need to dine in and try a bunch of different things from their menu. Regardless... If you're just looking for solid pizza in the valley that isn't a chain, this is better than prince street and mulberry in my opinion, so give it a shot. First time trying Anna Pizza and cannot wait to go back!! Super easy parking! I rlly appreciate when a place has a parking lot! You walk in and the place is just cool vibes and comfortable but also a little chic! It was just lovely and so inviting! Love was our server and she might be one of the loveliest, kindest and wonderful ones I've encountered in LA! She was so helpful with suggestions since it was our first time there. And trust me - we asked her a ton! And she just couldn't have been nicer but also just incredible and someone who you can tell takes great pride in being there and interacting with everyone there. We ordered the garlic knots - they are a must! We did the rigatoni alla vodka - delish! It's nice to find places that do a traditional vodka sauce that isn't spicy! And such a generous portion size of pasta - would absolutely order again! We did two pies - the cheese pie and the Brooklyn White. Both incredible! We are from NY so we do love a NY style pizza and are always in search of it here in the valley and this is some of the best we've had! The sesame crust on the white pizza was INSANE! Just truly one of our favorite pie's in LA! The food is delish and so incredibly and reasonably priced! What a gem the valley has been gifted. The remodel is great on this former pizza joint and its very welcoming and inviting. We ordered for takeout and enjoyed every aspect of our meal. The Caesar salad was amazing, fresh, and perfectly balanced. For pizza, we tried the pepperoni dreams, dragon pizza and cheese pizza, and each one was fantastic. The crust was just right, the flavors were bold, and the quality really stood out. Even the simple cheese pizza was done perfectly, which says a lot about a pizza place. My favorite was the pepperoni dreams. For pasta, we had the vodka pasta and the spaghetti meatballs and both were excellent, rich, flavorful, and comforting. My fiancé and I just discovered our new favorite date night spot. This place is such a great neighborhood Italian Restaurant. From the moment we walked in the door we felt like family. When I tell you that the service was exceptional, that is an understatement. The staff went above and beyond to create a wonderful dining experience. Im a crust snob, and the crust checked every box; flavorful, crispy outside, chewy inside, and perfect thickness! The chicken vodka sliders - what a great idea!! The chicken was thin but juicy, with a just the right amount of breading. The chicken did not get lost in the thick buttery garlic knot. However, I would have loved a stronger garlic flavor on the knot. The vodka sauce was flavorful and thick. For dessert the cannoli and chocolate chop cookie - they were out of the cookie unfortunately, so we only tried the cannoli. Im not a big fan of cannoli in general, but my fiancé really liked them. The decor was a beautiful hunter green and white with wood accents. Fresh flowers on every table made the place feel so welcoming and thoughtful. OMG THE BEST FOOD EVER. Every single item is DELICIOUS And one of the main ingredients in the pasta which is the sauce.....I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IT. I love pasta with the sauce and Parmesan, still it was challenging because still there is a citric that made me to put a lot Parmesan for me to enjoy in, BUT ANNA......there is not save like theirs. Walking in was very exciting they have a great ambience and it smelled incredible, we asked the nice lady at the counter for veggie recs and she delivered! L'industrie was incredible!! She told us after inquiring about the lovely pictures on the wall, that they were a family owned business and that was music to my ears.. My gramdparents were from Sicily and my favorite pizza is John's of Bleeker in Greenwich. So i know my pizza and italian food. Decided to give Anna a try after their whole dustup with CALIFORNI PIZZA KITCHEN hit the news... I'm not driving across LA for some viral news kerfluffle, but 3 miles for some supposedly damn good food? Sure. Why not. It's a Fruday and my 4 year old is demanding pizza for dinner. First: staff --- they're fantastic. Honestly. Kind. Welcoming. Happy. Everything NYC pizza joints arent. Ha. But they were honestly really great. Atmosphere: grwat. It's a small 5 table joint inside with 1 or 2 outside. Nice, thoughful, well decorated, clean family friendly ambiance. Food: the best damn garlic knots Ive ever had. Literally. Not even close. And I am only safe from a Sicilian curae in saying that because my grandmother never made garlic knots. But I would, and will, be going back there for those, at the very least. Garlic just screams in your mouth live an Italian granmother angry youre not eating 5ths as she doles them onto your plate. Bug. Fluffly. Frsh garlic. Not a hint of shortcutred garlic powder. Fresh flavor loaded garlic and butter. Fraking amazing. The rigatoni alla vodka was delicious. Prefectly al dente. So soooo much flavor. Most pizza joint pastas are afterthought dishes that rarely live up. Not this. It was fantastic. I'd order it again. It's no joke. And now for the pizza: we just started with a basic straight cheese. Why? Not for a culinary baseline. No. Its because thats all my daughter wanted. So i didnt have a choice. BUT NEXT TIME...i hope she'll give me a choice. That said: It was fantastic. Hinestly. Not some 1 of a million hoity toity snobby unnecessarily "elevated" LA pizzas. Just a dman good pizza. The sauce was delicious. Well balanced. Not some ketchupy slopbut a well balanced well season sauce and pizza that tastes like a place you'd wait an hiur for a tabble or a slice for in NYC (Im talking about you Joe's). The crust had a great bute and chew and flavor. It missed some of the char and bubbles that I think would bump it from a 9.7 to a 10. But the flavor was on point. Really, really great. Made me feel like i was back in NYC for a sec Only comment I would make was i wish the rigatoni came out a bit hotter. It was wasnt cold (and, to be honest, probably ideal for my daughter who was on the verge of a hanger tantrum if she'd have had to wait to take her first bite if it had needed to cool)... but for me, i like to get a steam facial while eating my pasta. Pizza and knots are fantastic. Chicken parm was overcooked and woefully thin. The spaghetti that accompanied it had an unpleasant tang. The rigatoni with vodka sauce was incredibly bland and did not taste like vodka sauce, or even like tomatoes. It felt like there were two kitchens making the food: the pizza side and the pasta side. Would maybe order from the pizza said again but would never order from the pasta side again. Total bummer. read more

My experience with pizza in Los Angeles has not been that great. Especially in the San Fernando Valley. I have been waiting for 30 years for a decent pizza place to open in my neighborhood and one finally has. This is it. Anna's. I didn't meet Anna, but I met her daughter and she was just a mensch. I love Pizza Mozza on Highland and Melrose but it's just too far. So if you like Pizza Mozza, you will like this place. I suggest you try the Brooklyn White. It is absolutely fabulous. Everyone tried the crust in our house. It is SO good. And it's about fucking time. Why it takes forever to get a great pizza place here is beyond me. I haven't tried the other slices but my son said the pepperoni was really good. I'd also like to add that it wasn't greasy or oily, which is par for the course with all of the other pizza places around here . We love this new place. The food is amazing and the staff is wonderful. Their pizza is delicious and has a great thin crust. They also have deep dish but it wasn't available for some reason but I can't wait to go back and try it. The garlic knots are beyond tasty and the Caesar salad is amazing. I also had the Cacio e Pepe which unfortunately is not the authentic version I am used to- this is more of a bland alfredo spaghetti with some pre-ground pepper lightly sprinkled on top instead of freshly ground pepper cooked into a pecorino Romano forward sauce. The bolognese sauce on the other hand, was incredibly rich and tasty and well worth the visit. I'm excited to go back and try everything else on their thoughtful menu.
