This place used to be good. Something has changed over the years. Today I ordered a vada pav. Got a box with a very lukewarm aloo bonda (the vada portion) and a cold pav along with a tiny container of masala powder. A sort of a make yourself kit I suppose. And this was for eating there, not for take out. - The pav was stone cold not even warm or toasted. - The vada ( aloo bonda) was probably made a while back and probably just microwaved to serve For a place that prides itself on serving authentic maharashtrian food this is a new low. No chutney on the pav or for the pav A vada pav comes with a warm toasted bun smeared with very flavorful chutneys enclosing a fresh hot vada. Can I just say - reminded me of my grandma! 'Nuff said.. Bhajni Thalipeeth (4.5/5). Right level of crispness and a taste that would make my grandma smile. Now the things about Thalipeeth is that the proportion of the different grains that make up Thalipeet is critical to taste. Annapurna has nailed this. The only thing I missed was fresh homemade butter to go with this. Zunka Bhakar (4.5/5) another gem. I will forewarn that authentic zunka bhakri is slightly spicier, but to my mild taste buds, this was PERFECT. The thecha was generously served to add zing as needed. Annapoorna does the best dahi batata sev puri (puffed puri) and the veggie sandwich! The sandwich tastes straight out of the streets of Mumbai with the same exact flavors and filling. I love their shrikhanda and alu bhaji also. Haven't dined there in a while and mostly doordashed my orders but will definitely visit since it's just minutes away from home. They have combo thalis and puran polion their menu which I'm most excited to try. When we dined there some years ago, the hospitality and service was great as was the food. The food was absolutely delicious, and the owner, Meenakshi, was incredibly gracious--so warm and friendly! We ordered the Thecha Vada Pav, and it was super flavorful--spicy, but just the right amount. The balance of flavors and textures was spot on. We also tried the Misal Pav, which was quite good, but the highlight for me was the Bharli Vangi with Bhakri--so rich, comforting, and perfectly cooked. I'm definitely coming back... pretty sure I'm going to become a regular here! Meenakshi also mentioned their other restaurant next door, Asian Bowls, which they own as well. The concept sounds really interesting, and a few items on the menu (especially the Khao Suey) definitely caught my eye--I'll be visiting soon! Visited this Maharashtrian restaurant for Saturday lunch at 2 PM and had a wait time of 20-25 minutes. Ordering is done through a QR code at the table, and there is no table service--if you need anything, you have to call someone and then wait for them to come. We ordered sabudana vada, Amul cheese pav bhaji, Mumbai misal, and a veg grilled sandwich. The food arrived as it was prepared. Unfortunately, the taste did not live up to its appearance. The vada was crunchy on the outside but dry inside, the pav bhaji's bhaji was served cold, and the misal lacked flavor--it felt more like a basic curry with poha and potatoes. The veg grilled sandwich had overly large pieces of bell pepper and was quite mediocre, nothing like an authentic Mumbai sandwich. My husband and I went to Annapoorna for lunch today. We ordered Chura vada pav, sev puri ,thalipeeth and bhelpuri and Puranpoli and chai. We had our puppy so we sat outside. There were a lot of seats available with huge canopies. The place was clean with adequate amounts of trash bins. Our order came in 10 minutes. Sev puri and bhelpuri reminded us of the streets of mumbai ( but super clean) It was first class.The thalipeeth had very less oil. It felt like your mother's cooking. The puranpoli had no oil and it came with ghee on the side.It was thin with a lot of stuffing.The chai was great too. We were so stuffed with the chaat and we brought the vada pav home.We ate it after about a couple of hours and it tasted wonderful . All in all, great ambiance, super great food , good customer service .Will go back there to try more dishes from the menu. They have a sister restaurant called ASIAN Bowl. I recently ordered to-go Vada pav and ragda pattice and somehow thought the quality is not the same as before. The ragda pattice was extremely dry and vada pav came with only lasoon chutney and no other sauce. This place seems to be in the middle of a lot of commercial properties. It was a long weekend and plenty of parking was available not sure how it is during. A regular weekend or when employees from nearby building are around as well. We ordered three things for pickup- Vada pav, grilled sandwich and the Frankie roll. The Vada pav was the best. The sandwich got a bit soggy when we got it home. Think it was packed hot in the box. I liked the flat bread used for the Frankie which is basically a roti. Unfortunately for our choices all 3 had potatoes and I got potato fatigue. I expected more julienne veggies in the Frankie not mashed potatoes. Tasty, consistent food. We've been going there for a few years now and everyone in my family has their own favourites. We have also catered for house parties and they were great with additional instructions on those orders. They have a good location and pleasant outdoor seating. I really enjoyed the food here. Granted I might've been hungry like super famished starving before I got here and it was also not lunchtime or dinner time. My friend and I went here around 4ish. What I really liked was it was less greasy and very homemade style. There is a bit of a wait time but nothing too crazy. There is seating outside, the food they give you is in to go containers so you can eat there and take the rest to go. The sabudhana vada was super crispy and the sauce it came with was delicious too, it had yogurt in it. The eggplant curry was delicious too. My friend said it was pretty close to being authentic Maharashtrian food, very simple, a lot of flavors and definitely a healthy option overall. Would definitely visit again and try other options. I placed online order today , I ordered Bombay Frankie with amul cheese , paneer sandwich and few other stuff ! Absolutely awful. The food tasted bad, stale, and carelessly prepared. After eating, there was severe stomach pain, which is completely unacceptable. This was a total waste of money and honestly concerning. On top of that, the menu on website is completely incorrect. The Veg Maratha entrée was listed as mixed vegetables with paneer, yet there was no paneer at all. The menu on the website shows different items than the in-person menu, and prices are not clearly listed. I went to this place twice and was disappointed both times. Food quality and taste was not good. I ordered a few things. Raj Kachori was very dry, it didn't have enough yogurt or chutney that typically comes with it. Raj Kachori is supposed to be very 'chatpati' (tangy, sweet, sour and salty at the same time). However at Annapurna, it was very bland. I also ordered an aloo paratha. It was $8 as of writing this review. However, it was very disappointing for how expensive it was. My friend ordered Paratha meal for $17. He got the same paratha and about half a cup of curry. He was very disappointed by the quantity.
