    BUTTER CHICKEN MASALA

I was craving some Indian food yesterday for dinner so I came here with my family. The restaurant is spacious with lots of seating. The place is clean with lots of open ventilation, the table and seats are clean, the service is quick and very nice. There were all sorts of people eating here from different ethnic backgrounds which was also nice to see. You simply order from the QR code and then someone will take your order. The employees check on you and make sure you're doing fine. We ordered their Plain Dosa which was tasty and fresh. I love their crepe and the big portion of potato and onion filling. The dipping sauces all paired beautifully as well. The crepe itself is pretty big in size. I'm a huge fan of their butter chicken masala; It's the first time I had butter chicken with actual grilled chicken! The tandoori chicken is mixed with the butter sauce which is phenomenal! This paired excellent with their Parotta, a naan-type pastry puff which is thick and used like naan. I'm a huge fan of their mutton biryani!! This was served in this nice copper goblet with a generous amount of mutton meat. The sheep meat is tender and buttery which I like. The flavor is so good and goes well with the type of rice they use. Every dish we had during our dinner was fantastic. This is by far my current favorite restaurant for Indian food. I would definitely come back again!

This is how sambhat was served to us. More than half empty and spilled all over

Extremely disappointed with out first visit here. Ordered 1 ghee dosa and 1 madala dosa. Received ghee dosa first with quarter filled, spilled cup of cold sambhar ( looked like somebody had eaten out of it, see photo) Dosa itself was cold and no taste of ghee. We requested for more sambhar whoch only came after 15 min( dosa was over by then) 30min in and we were still waiting for Mysore masala dosa. After multiple reminders to different servers we were finally told, their dosa batter was over and they had to make new. I cannot believe how a south indian restaurant is not ready with its dosa batter to serve customers. Overall, it was a mediocre experience. Surely not going back.

not sure but this is not the right way to make parotha

Review for Dindigul Thalappakatti - Disappointing First Visit I visited Dindigul Thalappakatti for the first time today, encouraged by strong recommendations from friends and positive online reviews. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what I had expected. The food overall did not meet the standard in terms of quality or taste. The Chicken Suka felt odd and completely out of place as an appetizer -- if it isn't intended as a starter, it should be served with roti or rice to make sense. The Chicken Biryani was disappointing -- either the meat wasn't fresh or had been overcooked, possibly from the previous day. The flavor didn't come close to the standards we're used to, even compared to places in the Bay Area. A friend dining with me, who visits regularly and is a big fan of the Kola Biryani, was also left disappointed with the food today. The Paratha wasn't properly cooked, and there seemed to be no thought put into the serving sequence -- appetizers, main course, and dessert were all jumbled together. Even the Mutton and Chicken Suka dishes didn't feel like appetizers at all; only the Chicken 65 stood out as decent. To make things worse, the service felt disorganized -- dishes arrived at random, and at times we were served curry with no rice or bread to go with it. Most concerning of all, I experienced health issues shortly after dining, including vomiting and diarrhea, which raises serious concerns about food safety and hygiene. This was a very disappointing and unfortunate first experience. I genuinely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and reviews both kitchen practices and overall dining service.

Chicken biryani, Prawn Sukka & Chicken Varuthathu

This used to be one of my go-to spots (mostly for their flavorful biryani). Tried it again now and unfortunately, I did not have the same experience as before. This review is based on online order. Order included Chicken Biryani, Prawn Sukka & Chicken Varuthathu. First of all, this place is quite pricey and the amount of food is scant tbh (esp the two appetizers I had ordered). In terms of their online order system, it didn't even update when the order was ready (had to call in to confirm, was not a fan of this). Ambience wise, from when i have dined in previously, its quite decent. The dishes rated, acc. to me: Chicken Biryani: good (rice is delicious & flavorful, but the chicken was a bit dry imo, mutton biryani is a tad bit better) Prawn Sukka : good Chicken Varuthathu: bad (the masala was burnt and the chicken was so dry)

We had chicken biriyani . It is very delicious and the rice is very soft . I always enjoy eating here . The service is polite and friendly

My new favorite Indian restaurant! Their menu is so unique and the food was amazing. We got the egg parotta, mutton egg pepper roast, masala dosa, and the egg biriyani. The egg parotta was so good and fresh and came with a tasty curry to dip in. The mutton egg pepper roast was my favorite dish, the mutton was tender and so well seasoned and yummy. The masala dosa was also really good, it came with the usual chutneys and sambar, but the tomato chutney was especially good and unique. The egg biriyani was like none other I've tried before, they use seeranga samba rice and it's quite different than typical biriyanis, but it was so good and flavorful, even the raita was amazing. Overall everything was amazing and service was also 10/10!

Service: 4/5. Friendly owner Ambience: 2/5. The place is quite dirty. So are the tables, plates, glasses, etc. The restroom is abysmal. Dishes we tried: Chicken biryani: 8/5. Super delicious! Mutton chukka: 5/5. Parotha: 3/5. Not very authentic. Extremely oily.

Food: Seeraga samba Briyani is my favorite of all. No matter how many places I try the go to fav is always thalapakatti. Service: the service at the place is very friendly, I don't know his name but he has been with the restaurant for almost 6 years now, that when I visited here 1st he is exceptional.

Service and ambiance is not that amazing but will go for the food. Dum biryani is so authentic.

The mutton kari dosa here is my absolute favorite item to get!! I really like the ambiance here, and it feels exactly the same to the branches in Chennai. The briyani are also a hit. I enjoy that you can order and pay using the QR code.

Traditional low tables invite you to kick off your shoes and settle onto floor cushions, instantly adding a cozy, almost homestyle feel. What We Ordered * Chicken Mandi - A show-stopping platter of fragrant basmati rice crowned with perfectly roasted chicken. The portion is generous (see photo!) and the spice profile leans savory-warm rather than tongue-scorching, so everyone at the table can dig in. * Mutton Curry - I rarely gamble on mutton when eating out, but this one converted me. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, swimming in a rich, slow-cooked gravy that balanced heat with a gentle hint of clove and cardamom. Absolutely outstanding. Service & Pace There's a sign at the entrance: "This is not fast food. Great taste takes time." Believe it. Dishes are cooked to order, so expect a leisurely wait. The staff checks in just enough to keep you updated, and once the platters hit the table you'll agree the patience tax is totally justified. Pro Tips 1. Go with friends--the mandi platter is made for sharing. 2. Weekends mean live music; arrive a bit early if you want prime floor-seat real estate. 3. Plan for 20-30 minutes from order to first bite; use the time to soak in the music and décor. Bottom Line Indian Canteen's mix of Bollywood flair, floor seating, and from-scratch cooking turns dinner into an experience. If you're craving authentic mandi and a mutton curry , mark this spot on your Milpitas food map--and don't forget to bring your patience and your camera.

Given all of this, the expectation of tipping feels a bit confusing. That said, we came here for the food--and it truly delivered. My husband is Bengali and was craving authentic Bengali food, so we decided to try this place over the weekend, and we absolutely loved it. We started with the mutton (goat) cutlet and Mughlai paratha. The mutton cutlet was adequately stuffed, fried crispy to perfection, and tasted really good. The Mughlai paratha by itself was just okay, but when paired with the aloo tarkari (potato curry) it became an instant hit. For the main course, we ordered chicken chow mein and Katla fish curry with white rice, and both dishes truly transported us straight to Kolkata.
