Can try once on their Pav Bhaji, will probably try Cheese pav-bhaji next time. The service is quick and easy to order as well, can be ordered online too for pickup. Parking might get tricky especially on weekends. But usually its floating, lucky if you find a spot. read more

It used to be our go to place for Wada Pav and pav bhaji couple of years back, but now it seems the taste isn't that great at least for these items. Since we ordered it to go, they did not mix the chutneys into the dish which kept it from getting soggy. It was a good quantity to share between a few people. The potato was cooked well and the spices added a good amount of flavor. - ragda pattice (6/10): 2 potato patties soaked in a yellow pea curry. This is one of my favorite dishes to order from a chaat place since it combines the potato patties and a usually flavorful curry. I had to add quite a bit of both the mint and tamarind chutneys in order to get this one to the level of spice that I typically like. The patties also did not have a crispy crust and almost dissolved into the pea curry. - vada pav (9/10): 2 pieces of fried potato balls in freshly baked bread buns with spicy powder. This was the dish that we were recommended to come and try so naturally we ordered it. It was fantastic and lived up to expectations. A great option for Maharashtrian and Mumbai style food! Ordered delivery from this place and it was great! We got a couple of orders of Pav Bhaji, Vada Pav, Pav Pattice, Misal Pav and Bhel. The food was delivered on time and was packaged really well. The Pav Pattice was AMAZING and so was the Pav Bhaji. Perfectly spiced, fresh and served with buttered toasted pav. Served with a mini Amul butter packet, some onions and papad, this reminded me of Mumbai =) Would definitely go back for that. Misal pav was okay, could be much better. They served it with onions and a spiced fried mixture. The mixture was not very good and the misal had far more oil than I expected. Their bhel was pretty good. They packed the chutneys separate, making sure it would not get soggy and it worked out really well. Their spicy chutney was SUPERB! The only thing to take away a star is that they forgot to pack the vada pav. We had to order some more food from elsewhere as they would not come back to deliver it. My friend and I stopped here for quick snacks today evening while coming back from Sierra Vista mountains. We had the Vada pav, pani puri and chai. The vada pav was very flavourful, cooked fresh to order and crispy. The star of the dish was definitely the red chutney. Omg it's sooo spicy yet so tasty. All my senses got awakened after taking few bites of this flavour bomb. And the fried chilli on the top. Really good. Must try! Pani puri was alright, they served with ragada.. I liked it as it's a healthier alternative to potato filling. Tasted new. The pani was spicy and flavourful. I was here with extended family for lunch. My first time here and being a Puneri I was curious. The ambience gives a maharashtrian vibe with the posters of RaniLaxmiBai, Jijamaata, the warli painting, the sketches of pandhari varkari... All that felt nostalgic. The menu card was interesting as it reminded olden days of letters that used to travel across kingdoms. It's a vast menu with appetizers, soups and salads, vegetarian, non-vegetarian and fish items specially coming from Maharashtrian cuisine as well as Malvan/Konkan side of flavors too. I started with sol kadi for a drink, others ordered beer called beera, appetizers we ordered kande bhaji and kothimbirichi vadi - both were very tasty. To be easy we ordered thali - mutton and chicken. The thali comes with rassa which comes from the meat that you chose (chicken or mutton), one veg sabzi on the sides, buttermilk, koshimbir, loncha, papad, chicken/ mutton curry , poli, fresh salad, kothimbir vadi, rice and shrikhand as dessert. It's a complete meal as you can see and was very filling by the time we finished eating shrikhand. If you pay in cash you do get a 5% discount as well. Overall, a great experience. The servers wear an orange vest which reminds you of stories from Shivaji's Darbar , the one thing missing was the topi . I enjoyed it and will definitely want to try other items from their menu. It is spicy so if you love spicy food then you must try and more spicier one is if it's Kolhapuri cuisine. I will recommend it as this is for vegetarians and meat lovers too. Updating my review after recent visit. Absolutely loved the Matki Bhel which is a unique dish I have never seen it anywhere else in Bay Area. It's just like suka Bhel but with Matki (sprouted moth beans). I highly recommend trying this dish. Also tried bread pattice which was delicious and was not oily even though it was deep fried. Tried their pav bhaji and vada pav, based on a friend's suggestion. I wouldn't recommend pav bhaji at all- it's very watery and oily, you can find way better options on nearby restaurants. Also the price is too high for eating at the food truck. You can get restaurant dine in experience at similar price. Vada pav is good though! Very soft pav. That's way I gave the rating of 3 star. ITS A FRAUD. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND. WOULD GIVE MINUS 5 STAR IF I COULD. I stopped by this place around 9:45 pm of Friday night to get some Pani Puri and Dahi Puri. The chef let the cashier know to verify dishes with him before taking the order and once "availability" was established they took this order. At the end the cashier asked for here or to go, and I SAID FOR HERE, and he charged me for the 2 dishes. As soon as my friend and I turned around to sit on the table, the guy from the food truck shouted rudely that the tables are closed and we cannot sit there and rushed quickly from the truck to table to turn the chairs upside down. THIS WAS THE MOST RIDICULOUS BEHAVIOR I HAVE EVER SEEN FROM A SERVICE INDUSTRY PERSON. Was thirsty and only ordered the kesar pista lassi. This was very refreshing! I loved the bits of pistachio and the saffron coloring. It also tasted a tad like cardamon but I'm not sure. It was creamy and very refreshing. The onlyyyy reason I'm docking one star is because I think the worker had touched or picked his nose? This kind of grossed me out and I didn't want to get the straw he offered me. His hands also did not look clean so I cleaned my cup. :/ I would suggest the main attendant at the cashier to be better with hygiene overall! There are a few places in the Bay area that offer food from the state of Maharashtra (India). Swaraj India is definitely one of the best ones. The food here tastes authentic and reminds me of food back home. Its a bit on the spicy side, which I like. This time I got the food delivered. The food was packed well and there were no spills on the way. 1. Kolhapuri Chicken Rice Plate: This comes with rice, roti and papad on the side. It is spicy! And flavorful. Complements the region this dish comes from (which is know for its spicy food). 2. Kolhapuri Vegetable Rice Plate: This comes with the same sides as the chicken and is spicy as well. 3. Pav bhaji: I loved this. Reminded me of eating the same thing at Juhu beach in Mumbai. 4. Vada Pav: Taste was very similar to what you get in Mumbai. Also the dry chutney is really good, and of course spicy. 5. Matki Bhel: I liked their take on the regular bhel. The moong beans tasted good with the rest of the ingredients. 6. Sev Puri: Many places serve this, but this place sent everything separate (as a kit). That way the puris were not soggy. Also a lot of different places serve this dish using the puris used for pani puri (thats not sev puri!) +1 for staying authentic and using flat puris. 7. Pani puri: The pani was nice and spicy. Vada pav- 5/5, delicious! I give it a 5 because the chutneys are spicy and so good Pani puri- 2/5, I wouldn't get this again. The Chana is not good and not typical Chana eaten with pani puri, it's in a yellow daal and is hot and just doesn't go with the pani puri. Pani itself is okay. We visited this Indian (Maharashtrian) food truck at around 7pm on a Tuesday. They had 4 tables with seating available on just 1 table when we got there. I have recently moved to California and had heard great reviews from Indian friends about this truck. And they did not disappoint! We got a couple of extra pavs to help finish the amount of bhaji that was on the plates. masala taak - rating 4.5/5 I love salty lassi/chaas drinks. An Indian Food truck that serves Mumbai chaat?! YESS! This is a rare find in the Bay Area. Out of the 30 years I've lived here, I could never find such a thing. Swaraj India serves all kinds of chaat, from pani puri to dahi batata sev puri (my favorite). They also serve Chicken Kolhapuri, Vada Pav, and Pav Bhaji. The list goes on and on! The quality and taste of the food does take me back to my home visits to Mumbai and makes me feel as if I am really back in India.
