Look at the reviews starting in June 2024. Before then, this was a great place. I walked in today and everything had changed. I didn't recognize anyone. The former management was very welcoming and pleasant. The man I encountered this time was gruff and pointed at the picture menu above the cash register. I saw that there were a lot of empty trays in the buffet line. It made me wonder if the buffet was still on. I turned around and left. I miss the old Annapoorna Kitchen. I don't think this new one is going to last very long. It will be interesting to check in on them in 6 months. It's a shame. read more

Did a takeout for paneer tikka and chicken 65 for a small get together. The flavors were excellent and very different from what you would expect in a traditional Indian restaurant in these parts. The chicken 65 was juicy and not dried out. Paneer tikka was just out of the world. All the guests loved the appetizers. Will be back for the buffet. read more

We had Butter chicken, Mushroom masala, Shrimp Masala, Garlic naan And Parantha. Only two of us ate and we devoured it all. Every dish was spectacular and the shrimp were large and very fresh. I ordered the food twice. First time it was very tasty and surprised me. Everything was individually wrapped to prevent leaking. The second time, the taste was off, seemed like a secondary cook was given the job. So in mind, the restaurant lacks consistency. That happens when the chefs don't use a set Recipie. The Sunday buffet food was ok taste not to the extent in Plano or Frisco area. The chutneys were spoiled. No dosa. The hot rice and hot briyani were kept on a polythene cover which is not good. Goat gravy pieces were very hard. too much of color for Tandoori Chicken. Overall number of items in the buffet were not well thought out. Naan n Garlic Naans were good. Fish gravy is no where close to the authentic taste. chicken gravy the same. dosa should be added in the buffet. chutneys should be fresh. lessor dessert was not good at all. jamun was good. kids under 5 buffet should be free. net-net the buffet n food items should be improved to stay in the tough Plano/Frisco Indian restaurant market. read more

They are ridiculously cheap with the tiny amount of rice they give with their curries. For that reason alone we won't be back.

Ordered delivery and every dish I ordered tasted really, really good. I should have known this after I took the carefully packed meal out of the delivery bag. Nothing was missing. Everything was hot and properly separated so nothing was unexpectedly mixed or soggy. Their seasoning came through without being overpowering and they listened to my spice level requests. Obviously any ethnic foods in a small city don't compare in authenticity with large cosmopolitan metropolis. Nevertheless, Annapoorna Kitchen is in my opinion, is one of the best Indian food restaurants in our community. I tried the various dishes offered in their buffet and I enjoyed them all. The naans were fresh from the kitchen. The basmati rice was perfectly cooked fluffy and lose. All the vegetarian treats were delicious, as well as the curries and the tendori specialties . I didn't tried the desserts but they looked very tempting. The establishment was aire, clean and comfortable. The owner was all around to make sure everything was alright.
