Excellent dosas (masala, butter, mysore, ghee roast) and medhu vadas...with freshly made sambhar, coconut and garlic/tomato chutneys...fast service too. Tried their bhindi masala with rice and rotis which were pretty good too...we're coming back for more.

So happy to finally dine here! I've gotten takeout which is great but nothing beats right off the pan. Annapurna is my first exposure to dosa. They're huge. We ordered the Marsala dosa. It came with a coconut sauce, tomato gravy, and a spicy soup. I saw the cook uses Pam to make it nonstick. Bathroom was a lil dirty and floor as slippery, but the food was delicious. 10/10.

This is really an Indian (Vegetarian) flavor town USA!!! The food is amazing and it looks like a family own and run business. Service is quick and friendly with parking available. The ambiance is very casual and lots of noise from kitchen (love it!). It's like they get to work on your order as you put in the order. I highly recommend the Sambar Vada (lentil donut drowned in dal(Sambar)). We also tried Andrah Dosa (spicy and real good) AND pavbhaji dosa (highly recommend also!). I will be here again and recommend anyone looking for vegetarian food to come try this spot! Come hungry!

Ambiance: old fashioned vegetarian restaurant, spacious inside, packed parking lot shared with other merchants Service: the server was so rushed, and I had to order under pressure without even got the chance to check their menu Food: numerous items on their menu, various options for vegetarian food Masala Dosa - **** Crepe stuffed with spiced cooked potatoes, served with Sambar and Chutney, one of the most popular items, thin and crispy, sour taste, recommend Spicy Masala Uthappam - ** Special South Indian Made Pizza / Pan Cake with Varieties of Toppings, spiced potatoes with onion & chilly, garnished with cilantro, plain taste Mushroom Mutter Masala - *** fried button mushrooms and peas cooked tomato creamy gravy, spicy taste Price: moderate portions and affordable prices, about $20~$25 per person, however, the food quality wasn't great, and it caused stomach pain afterwards

    PAPER DOSA Gobi Manchurian

Chai is always spot on. The paper dosa, gobi manchurian, and paneer matar are also hits!

ONE OF THE BEST INDIAN SPOTS IN LA!!! Shoutout my friend Luke for putting me on. They suggested the Aloo Gobi and Masala Dosa and yes absolutely delicious!!! Service was so great and a great place to come with friends and family! It's pretty causal. And they have a parking lot!

Overall, very solid place for Dosa and other South Indian dishes! We came here on a holiday so it was super packed, but we were still seated quickly. The masala chai is delicious and the absolute must get is the chili paneer. It's soft and not fried and coated in schezwan sauce. The samosa chaat was also very good, and I was honestly quite surprised. The mysore masala dosa we had came with sambhar and tomato and coconut chutney's. Pretty standard, but done well. Annapurna is a must try!

On our second visit to Annapurna. Stopping in for an early Sunday dinner. Place seems moderately busy.

We ordered takeout and were pleasantly surprised by how cheap the order came out to be (thinking that Abhiruchi just got set up on the app and was offering discounts to entice potential customers). However, I was underwhelmed by the food. The butter chicken was delicious -- well seasoned and not *too* overwhelmingly buttery/creamy. Gobi manchurian was also superb, but the batter was a little heavy so the cauliflower didn't maintain it's crispiness when it arrived at my place. I was most excited for the gutti vankaya (eggplant curry), but it was bland. The garlic naan was limp and flavorless as well. Disappointing.

I paused briefly to enjoy the tea while the kitchen busily prepared my meal. Staff were courteous and gracious. The kurma was full of mystical delights in a very smooth subtle sauce. Naan was fresh, with sesame seeds and just enough garlic to stand on its own; I however smothered it and it was devoured quickly dipped in small tastes of the Kurma. Crazy storefront on Venice Blvd but walk back to the dining room. The music and romantic videos playing on multiple screens completed the experience of warm south Asian hospitality. Can't wait for leftovers tomorrow and my next visit.

The combination of friendship and delicious dishes delivered by Almost famous was soul-warming. Metered street parking only unfortunately, but service at the restaurant was excellent. Staff were friendly, courteous, patient, and were happy to go through the menu and make recommendations. You can tell they take pride in their dishes offered. They will check-in enough to ensure everything with the dining experience is going well, but not too frequently to impede on privacy. They have a breakfast/lunch (brunch) menu that they serve from 8am up until 2pm and a dinner menu that is available from 11am to 2pm & 5pm to 9:30pm. 1. Ginger & Cardamom Chai Latte (5/5) House-made chai with ginger and cardamom. If you like herbal spices, this drink was comforting and warming. It's not sweet, which I like and it paired well with the food dishes. 2. Crab Bhuna (4.75/5) Crab meat simmered in fragrant spices then topped with ginger, fennel seed, and curry leaves. It is served with soft, subtly sweet banana buns The crab meat was fresh and honestly, you couldn't even tell it's crab. It's seasoned perfectly with the aromatic Indian spices. The banana buns were interesting ... it was a bit on the dry side, but if you stuffed the airy pockets of the bun with the crab meat, it's not too bad. The banana bun had an interesting flavor profile; a mix of sweet-bitterness to it. 3. Sweet Potato Chaat (5/5) One of my favorite dishes here. It is sweet potato chunks mixed with a sauce blend of sweet corn, yogurt, tamarind, mint chutney and pomegranate. The sauce was light, refreshing, and tangy, balancing the natural sweetness of the sweet potato perfectly. 4. Brunch Dosa Rice & Lentil Crepe (4.75/5) Basically think of a crepe, but a super large size one. I just love their crepe - it was crispy yet doughy with a cheesy flavor. The crepe was stuffed with turmeric mashed potatoes. I typically do not like mash potatoes, but when it's served this way, I approve. The dish comes with a side of 3 sauces - sambar (lentil-based vegetable curry that's often seasoned with coriander seeds, cumin, fenugreek, dry red chilies), curry, coconut and tomato chutney. A perfect dish for sharing and for trying out the various flavors of Indian cuisine. 5. Wagyu Beef Keema Kulcha (4.5/5) Minced Wagyu beef that's seasoned well with aromatic spices and onion inside an Indian leavened flat bread. Highly recommend and will be back to try out other dishes!
