    Small portion and bad taste

I paid $18.60 for a chicken tikka masala lunch that included roughly 50 grams of chicken and 1/2 cup of rice, served on a small disposable plate. For the price, the portion was disappointing, with just four small, quarter-sized pieces of chicken. The flavor was also underwhelming; it tasted more like canned tomato sauce than a well-prepared dish.

    Not worth 18 dollars..

Got the lunch special but didn't have Salad or drink but still charged full priced.. and portions are small

Went in for the lunch special, main woman at the register does a terrible job of explaining how it works . . Got an eye roll, and a whole lot of attitude when voicing my confusion about this after paying, waiting, and receiving 1/2 size plain chicken for $1 less than the tikka masala dinner( which is what I was inquiring about in the first place )

Chutneys is very friendly service. The food is kind of odd and not flavors that I'm used to (maybe it's a different region?) and I wish I took a picture of it. It's not bad, good for the price and could be passable but if you are really craving Indian, I would go to samosa house for curries.

Stopped by on a whim. Good food. Decent price. Would go again. Might not be my first choice. By hit the spot just fine.

Good flavor on the food. Probably will come back again. I suggest ordering in-person because the online prices are pricier.

We have been coming to this place for a few years now. In a very small lot so parking is scarce and area is not so great either. As many people have mentioned, customer service is horrible. They count out the number of plates and napkins you get. One per person, except kids don't apparently count as people. So one per adult. We normally go here for the nihari, which is decent. The naan is fresh. We ordered the beef seekh kabob this last time around and that was meh. We had to ask for some chutney, at which point we were handed two small containers to grab ourselves. I think better if we just took our plates over instead.

I'm from India and love to try new Indian restaurants! This gives me the opportunity to compare and find the BEST Indian restaurant in LA. Customer service: I was pleased with the customer service that I received on this day. I was greeted with a warm smile which is always nice. Ordering was easy and the host kindly made suggestions from the menu. Portion: As mentioned, I've been to MANY indian restaurants and the portion at this location was 3/10. I was surprised to see how LITTLE the servings were and still felt hungry after leaving the restaurant. Flavoring: I would give this place a 5/10 for flavor. It's not up to par with my expectation. Not spicy and kind of bland to be honest. Parking: Parking is definitely a 1/10. If it's a busy day, you won't have any luck with parking. It's too tight and small. * I would not consider what I ate to be Samosas. Those resemble sambusas and don't taste exactly like what a samosa should taste like. The Dosa also was more like injera and not a true dosa texture. I will not be returning to this location but happy to have tried a new place.

We've been eating here regularly since 1997. The food is authentic and delicious and made with exact intention. It's our go-to.

Great local Indian take out. Their tandoori chicken is spot on. I'd eat there again.

YUMMM!!! What a great way to end the work week! It's been an insane week at work. I always pass by…read morethis place on the way home. Tonight I gave it a try for the first time. Score! For drinks I had the cucumber mint lemonade. It's their newest drink. So delicious! It's cold, refreshing, and delivers a burst of flavor in your mouth. A must try! For food I had the chicken tikka masala (mild), half rice, and garlic naan. They also give you a small side salad. The garlic naan was the best I've ever had. So moist and not burnt like a lot of other places. You can easily pull it apart with your fingers as it screams, "eat me! eat me!", with delight. The chicken tikka masala's flavor was amazing! I like to try things mild first to see how they taste. Some places serve bland food and mask it with spiciness. Not here. The flavor is all there. Next time I think I'm going to adventure on the wild side and try the medium and then possibly the spicy. The included salad was simple yet so satisfying. The dressing is definitely unique and packs a punch with the spice level but... I like it. *wink* *wink* hahhaa. The rice was perfection. I hate it when it's not cooked enough and too mushy or overcooked and hard. Originally I was going to eat half tonight and then the other half tomorrow but... I know myself. I would just go to bed, wake up in the middle of the night thinking about it, then not be able to go back to sleep until I finished the rest because it would keep calling my name from the kitchen. Hahahaha. I didnt get to see the inside because I got it to go but I'll let you guys know in an update. The staff there is great and they seem like a very nice family. As I've always said, I'm a huge supporter of family businesses. I'm soooo happy I gave this place a shot. I am not only coming back, I'm definitely going to have them cater some of my parties. Enjoy!

They're thick, they're flavorful, they hit you with the right spice. Normal spice is a white man's medium high so they got their base down which is more than half the battle. They cook the Paneer just right. And really enjoyed the Bartha! That The not so good: the chicken is way overcooked, I don't know if it's breast or thigh, but it definitely tasted like a dried out breast. Possibly using the tandoori and just dropping it into the gravy, but a perfectly cooked chicken thigh would take the chicken tikka masala to the moon. Second, the Paneer portion size was a joke. Maybe six cubes in the whole deal. Needs to be at least double. I'm ready to try again you gotta protect your meats!

Their second location in LA is in Hawaiian Gardens. Gorgeous interior, perfect place for a date or gathering. They have large spaces and private areas inside. The food was delicious and so are their mocktails!! Wowww I was very impressed with the double smoked apple cocktail and highly recommend trying it. All their dishes are made with so much detail. And, many of the dishes have a very visual interactive moment like their table side bhel puri, puri, or their chicken biriyani and smoked beef. From modern authentic dishes to street food they have it all. The sloppy khans were also delicious! I really enjoyed their curry dishes with the garlic naan. They have so many dishes to try! I cannot wait to come back to try their butter chicken and paneer as well! For dessert we tried their rose milk cake and the chocolate samosas. Both were satisfying and the milk cake felt really special. Huge thank you to Ali, who has such a vibrant energy about him!!!!! He really added to the wonderful experience and helps us appreciate all the details and background of the dishes as well! Cannot rave about him enough. Definitely made the experience special for us! The larger, open space was a huge plus compared to the more compact Fullerton location, and the new items like chapli kebabs and different karahi variations were refreshing. This easily could have become our favorite location. Unfortunately, since Shor rebranded as Khan Saab, the overall experience seems to have gone downhill. The staff themselves are always nice, genuine, and willing to help, but once the restaurant gets even a little busy, they seem overwhelmed and clearly understaffed. Compared to the original Fullerton location, especially when more of the familiar OG staff were there, the service does not feel as polished or consistent. Our last visit was particularly disappointing. We ordered chicken karahi, chicken tikka masala, biryani, and bhel puri. The bhel puri was extremely dry with very little sauce and tasted poorly balanced. Nearly everything else, including the biryani, karahi, and tikka masala, was overly salty. The chicken karahi was the biggest disappointment. It is usually one of my go-to dishes at Khan Saab, but this time it barely tasted like karahi and was more like a generic curry. I understand this location does not offer boneless karahi, which is completely fine, but the flavor and quality should still be consistent. This location has so much potential because of the space and the Khan Saab name, but the consistency in both food and service just isn't there right now. I'll probably avoid this location for a while and hope ownership and Chef Ali Mookhi take notice and bring the standards back up.
