DELICIOUS! I love the larger chow mein noodles. One thing... sweet and sour pork needs the big four. pineapple, carrot, bell pepper and onion. One was missing and just doesn't work. For starters, everything was extra greasy, even for Chinese food. I ordered two main courses and three sides of fried rice for a few friends and I. One of the fried rice appetizers was edible, one looked like it had been cooked two hours before I called, and one didn't make it to my house... I called to mention and the person I spoke to said they would make a note on my account. The next time I called, I mentioned the note and made an order for delivery. The driver shows up and knows nothing about the free fried rice... I get charged full price, again. And, I'm still out a fried rice. I'll pop in this week to see if they'll give my money back. Craving Chinese, and not wanting to go out! Delivery was very fast, the food was hot, and everything tasted great.

Ordered online. Teriyaki chicken thinking it came with rice m. Picked up my order and it had no rice. I called in other times asked for same item and they asked what kind of rice I said steamed. This is probably the first totally negative review I ever posted. For years we enjoyed this place, fresh food, whether it was lunch or dinner, eat in or take out. It's now been a while and we will never go back...first the older man who doesn't actually seem to do any work was stinking of booze at lunchtime, which I realized because he got sloppy sentimental and tried to hug me. That prompted avoiding it for a few months. On a follow up visit, the young waitstaff pretended not to know us, seerved us a pot of hot water instead of tea, and the food was horribly undercooked and underspiced. I love Anna's! They have always been good. One time they forgot my sweet n sour sauce and although it took a while for them to bring it to me, they did. This place is a mixed bag. The food is good, but not great. It is Americanized Chinese food as all 'Chinese food' in the states is. They have the usual cast of characters. Nothing stands out as great, but nothing is bad either. I really wish they would actually make the spicy dishes spicy, though it is rare to actually find a place that will make something truly spicy. The food is mediocre to bad. We ordered won ton soup, chicken teriyaki and fried rice. The chicken was dry and over cooked. The dumplings in the soup were nasty and I spit them out. The rice was crunchy. While we were eating a drunk employee was rude and shoving candy in my son's face. Not appreciated. We won't be coming back. Nasty. The employees also made me feel so uncomfortable. They were questioning why I didn't want to take the food home. My girlfriend and I are big fans of Chinese food, and after hearing good things, we decided to go to Anna's Bistro for dinner tonight. For appetizers, we ordered the Won Tons, which came with sweet and sour sauce and hot Asian mustard (which is my favorite), and the Potstickers, which is pretty much my favorite appetizer at a Chinese place, when they are done right. Man oh man, were they done right. Firstly, the food and flavors were CLEAN. No excess oil, nothing that should have been crispy was soggy, everything was cooked to perfection and the balance of flavors was traditional and *perfect*. This goes for the entrees as well, but I will elaborate on those in a minute. The Potstickers were incredible. My favorite Potstickers in town have long been the ones from China Chef, but these beat them out. The seasoning in the mixture is great, and they have a little more Bok Choy, which just adds more flavor. Most importantly, they were thicker and doughier (which is the way I prefer them) than other Potstickers I've had, and the bottom side was appropriately seared to give it that slightly crispy texture that is the mark of a great Potsticker. Home run. Fried Won Tons seem like a pretty easy dish, but these were by far the best I've ever had. They had a little chew to them, they weren't just a crunchy mess, and they weren't full of oil. In fact, they were so oil-free, I couldn't even see any oil on them when I held them up to the light, and was amazed by it, since most Chinese places I've been to have at least *some* oil on their Won Tons. For entrees, I ordered the Szechuan Prawns since I usually measure the greatness of a Chinese restaurant by the quality of its Szechuan sauce, and my girlfriend ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken. We both have our own recipes for these dishes, and whenever we cook them, they come out great. Anna's Bistro, however, blew both of our recipes out of the water, and also those of any other Chinese restaurant either of us have been to (which is quite a few). My Szechuan Prawns were jumbo - probably 16-10 to a lb., and they were well-battered, perfectly cooked and the sauce was incredible. As with the appetizers, the flavors were clean, and there was no excess oil or textural misfires, everything was just great. If you love Szechuan sauce like I do, you have got to go to Anna's to check theirs out. The Sweet and Sour Chicken my girlfriend got was great as well, she loved it. The chicken was crispy enough to retain its texture under the sauce, which wasn't too thick or too strong, but just right. The dish also came with chunks of the fresh pineapple from the sauce, which I thought was a great idea that I haven't seen in other Chinese restaurants I've been to. Who doesn't love pineapple covered in Sweet and Sour sauce!? Exactly. The food was obviously great, but so too was the service. Everyone was polite, attentive and the food was cranked out very quickly, especially considering how good and how obviously fresh it all was. We were so pleased, we left our waiter a big fat tip as our way of thanking them for the best Chinese food we've had. TL;DR: Everything was great. The restaurant looks plain on the outside, pretty nice on the inside, service is curteous and very fast, and most importantly - the food is *excellent*. We'll be going back again soon. read more

I've driven by Anna's Bistro several times, but never have stopped. Today, I dropped in for lunch. My first question was, do you add monosodium glutimate--and they don't, which makes me very happy. They have a lunch menu with Chinese dishes for $6 or $7. You get a Japanese style salad, a cup of soup, rice or fried rice, and the main course. I chose a dish with prawns for $7. Choices are very limited in Ukiah, that's why this place deserves 5 stars. They offer Chinese, Japanese and some Thai dishes. Their Chinese food is definitely the best in town. The restaurant is very clean. Lunch specials are a great deal. For $7, it includes salad, soup, entree of choice, and chow mein or fried rice. The owner is also very nice. He really cares about food and customer service. Definitely worth checking out! After some more exploration of the menu, here are some recommendations: Mongolian Beef, Twice cooked chicken, Broccoli beef, anything Kung Pao, Singapore style noodles, Vegetable Chow Mein and sushi. Some dishes I did not care for: Broccoli with garlic sauce (jello like sauce, weird consistency, flat favors) and the vegetable dumpling soup (the dumplings desinigrated, go with War Won Ton or sweet and sour soup). read more

No complaints about the service as the waiters are always extremely helpful. I come from a city with abundance of ethnic foods so Anna's Bistro is just mediocre for my taste buds. I find their Chinese food to be on the greasy side. Their seasoning is a little on the salty side as well. With this said, I always find myself coming back to Anna's Bistro whenever I crave for Chinese food because their isn't anything else of the like that is better in Ukiah (unfortunately). As for the portion size...their Chinese food portion size is very decent. I'm usually extremely full after having lunch here. I can't say the same for their sushi though. I remember paying $10+ for 6 measly pieces of California rolls. The rolls were thin and small, I was definitely still hungry after eating this. Next time, I would go elsewhere for sushi. read more

Placed an order online for delivery. Food was delivered promptly (30 or 35 minutes later), hot, and tasty by a friendly woman. Not sure if the rumors are true that this place is owned by the same people shut down at a previous location I shall not name, but as there were no obvious reasons to feel otherwise, I was very pleased with the food and service. One complaint is the Thai coconut soup was very salty. I'm hoping that was a fluke. Also, the chicken fried rice is pretty minimal in its contents beyond the rice. This is by far the worst food I've ever eaten. Delivery took over an hour, then order was not complete. It took over 15 minutes to get through on the phone to find out where the rest of my order was. After he verified my order, he said they would get it to me In a while. When I asked what awhile meant, he said 15-20 mins. That was over an hour ago, and it's still not here. To top it all off, after eating the food that did arrive, 20 minutes later I was in the bathroom throwing it up. The only reason I gave it one star, they deliver for no extra charge. read more

After a few years of living here, and the shuttering of Happy Thai, I will enthusiatically say the is the best delivery in Ukiah; beating out all our pizza places (2) by a long shot. First off, for around $30 bucks, you can satisfy a family of three; right to your door. They are fast to deliver and incredibly friendly. I've ordered from them five or six times, and have always been astounded by how fast they arrived, The food is brilliant. I have lived in major cities in both the US and Asia, and would say Anna's is equal to the quality of delivery I've gotten in Seoul, Tokyo and Chiba. Veggies are crisp, meat is tender, and fried entrees are crisp and tasty; not grease pit monstrosities.The fried rice seems to be a trick of physics, that they can pack that little tub with eight plates worth of delicious fried rice is something I'd like to discuss with Hawkings, Tyson or Sagan. Yum! Found this place through yelp, and we're glad we did. It's obvious going in the place has been there a while. The carpets are stained and the place is dingy, but not too bad. We ordered the Bobo Appetizer for two and ate the whole thing. It had two of everything; wrapped chicken, egg rolls, cream cheese wonton, deep fried prawns and some curry flavored meet on a stick. It was good. I wouldn't say it was awesome, but it was good. We also ordered the super dragon roll. This was very good! I had never had it before, but as far as I'm concerned, it was done perfectly. The shrimp fried rice was also good. About 6shrimp to the plate. Like the appetizers it was good. We will be back. We loved the sushi and will try more. Lunchtime! Hot n sour soup, meh. Flavor dropped off right after the spoon left my lips. Aww too bad. Tried the eggplant in garlic sauce, it was pretty good. Spicy as promised, wirth a mix of thinly sliced carrot, shrooms, and bamboo shoots instead of the usual solo eggplant. The side of hot mustard was truly hot, which I love. The vegetarian spring rolls we ordered were traditional American Chinese, filled mainly with cabbage and crispy! I really like them that way. They reminded me of my hometown Chinese restaurant in New York. But that was the only part of the meal that took me down memory lane. All in all, an OK meal. read more

I've eaten in this restaurant a couple times and I remember hearing their phone ringing over and over (on a slow day) and nobody would pick it up. Thought it was a little odd and not so great for business. I wasn't crazy about eating inside the restaurant because the tables were sticky and clearly not clean. That stuff grosses me out. So I decided I'd start ordering takeout instead only to find out they really DONT like to answer their phone! I seriously cannot even count how many times I've tried to call them and they didn't answer. I've been able to get through successfully here and there but it's always a gamble. Horrible customer service, they gave me the wrong order and told me that if I want the correct one then I'd have to order again and they'd charge me. I had already paid $31 plus a tip. Great stop off Highway 101 in Ukiah! The owner is very friendly. He made a bold declaration: "Everything on the menu is delicious." We didn't believe him at first, but over several visits have found this to be true. Everything was fresh and tasty. Notable items include the Chinese greens, the black mushrooms, and the crispy chow mein. We happened to be hosting some friends from China; and on the way to Anderson Valley for wine tasting, stopped here for lunch . Our friends were pleasantly surprised at the high quality and authenticity of the food. read more
