Panda express seems to have been on a downward spiral ever since covid happened. Went in today for lunch, the place was clean, it was at lunch time so even though nobody was in front of us in line we had to wait as they rushed to get drive thru orders taken care of. Not going to blame them for that. When we got to place our orders we asked to sample the sweet chili shrimp and were told there are no more samples given out. My husband took the gamble and ordered that along with the mushroom chicken and fried rice. I got Kung pao chicken and the honey sesame chicken and fried rice. Our daughter got fried rice and two orders of orange chicken. Mt husbands gamble did not pay off, would have been nice to have tried it first so he didn't order something he wouldn't like. I mean charge me $1 for a sample, but it would be nice to try before ordering. Mushrooms chicken was good as it always is. Fried rice was flavorless. The Kung pao chicken did not hit like it used to. The honey sesame chicken was pretty good. The orange chicken, their most famous menu item...what the h-e-double hockey sticks was that??? They seem to make it spicier every year but it was bitter tasting as well and tastes nothing like the orange chicken they used to serve years back. So disappointing. Then there is portion sizes, for $10.10 for a two entree plate, you get so much bland fried rice or overcooked chow mein and a few bites of each of the dishes you order. Also... They said they took black pepper chicken off of the menu because of Covid and being short staffed and busy. Understandable, but after Covid it never came back. It's a shame because it was the best dish they had. For $10 a meal I'd rather go eat at the Chinese buffet for just $4 more, and it would be better and much more food. We ordered through the drive-thru to try the new sizzling shrimp bowl. We had a bogo coupon so we got two different bowls. The new shrimp bowl is good. I enjoyed the vegetables in the dish and had it with fried rice. The sauce is a little spicy, thick and sticky. It is a very bold flavor and overpowers the shrimp flavor. I still prefer the honey walnut shrimp bowl, because you can taste the shrimp, but It had minimal walnuts. Overall a good experience. I am glad I gave the new dish a try. read more

Stopping in Ukiah in the midst of a long road trip, I found myself scurrying on my phone to search for any alternative to the Jack in the Box the rest of my group was currently eating at. I found this Panda Express online, which is good because I generally like Panda Express, but saw it had pages upon pages of bad reviews. After reading some of them, it almost became a bit of a curiosity to me due to HOW many bad reviews there were. Could it really be that bad? I had to find out. I ordered online and my food was hot and ready when I got there 10 minutes later. I only dealt with one staff member, Adrianna, and she was pleasant enough. The food was hot and fresh, and the portion sizes were actually some of the most generous I have ever gotten from a Panda Express, which surprised me considering this was one of the main complaints among the other reviewers. (the picture I have posted was actually taken AFTER I had eaten a significant amount of it; there was probably about 25% more meat than pictured) All of the food was pretty great, actually. The crispy almond chicken was slightly overcooked, being just a tad burned on a couple pieces, but I didn't really care because it was tasty anyway. Hey, it is supposed to be the 'crispy' chicken, right? The Beijing spicy beef and honey walnut shrimp (I almost always get these two when I go to PE) we're actually some of the best examples of this dish I've had at Panda Express. The restaurant was clean too. Four stars because of the slightly burned chicken, my fortune cookie was crushed into multiple pieces when I received it, and the staff did seem a little bit rushed and not overly accommodating, although this didn't affect me too much seeing that I just ordered online. In fact, I'd say it was better than roughly 60-70% of my Panda Express experiences. I don't even typically leave Yelp reviews for chains that often, but I felt it was my duty to do what I can to right the ship on this store. Was it the best Panda Express in the world? Perhaps not. But does it deserve the flurry of 1 star ratings it currently has? ABSOLUTELY not. I had a pleasant time and enjoyed my food there, and should I return to Ukiah (which I highly doubt I ever will), I would eat here again without hesitation. read more

Now, more often than not most of the various dishes in the steam table are empty, and when you settle for entrées you didn't really want even those are dried out and gross. We were so excited to see Panda Express open in Ukiah last year. We always pickup food from their locations when we go to Santa Rosa. After the first time getting food from the Ukiah store, we were so disappointed. Several months later we tried again. The food was even worse. Yesterday I decided to try again. I've been to this Panda a few times now. Tried to let them work out their "kinks" and go back. Every time it's not great. Either the food is super dry and over cooked or like today I got all cabbage when I ordered chow mein. Hardly any noodles. And there were only a couple cars. So being busy was not an excuse. I'd rather spend my money somewhere else. Plenty of restaurants and fast food in the area that are way better. I love Panda Express but I don't think I'll ever go to this one again. Don't waste your time. I'd rather drive the hour and a half to another Panda that always has good food and service. read more

This is the worst Panda Express I've ever been to. They regularly forget items in your order, the chow mein is often 60% cabbage, and the food will often be cold. Today was the last straw for me. I ordered a "bigger plate" which comes with 3 entree. Two in the container and then one on the side in a container of its own. When I got my food home I looked inside and there were two empty slots where the other two entrees were supposed to be. All it would have taken was for one employee (maybe the one putting my order in the bag) to look at the food. I ordered food through the drive-thru and when I asked for a specific entree, they informed me that it would be about a 7 minute wait. I said that is fine and the person who was taking my order, sighed and asked if I was sure and that she would prefer I ordered something else. I said, no, I don't mind waiting. When I got to the window and paid, the person informed me that they had no sauces and that my wait time for my food would be much longer. I asked if I could get my money back and she said no. I asked to speak to a manager, she said their manager wasn't there. So, I drove to the front of the store and waited more than 15 minutes for my order. I will never return and I will be filing a complaint with corporate. read more

For one of the only restaurants in the area for miles you would think that they would be on top of their game. Not the case. The restaurant is not keeping up the standards of their corporate recipe. Staff managed to make the Chinese food tasted like Mexican food. Very starchy and dry as a result. The soda machine says 1 free refill but they didn't to honor and tried to charge me. They also advertise "rate us 5 stars on Yelp for a free entree" which is ironic. They need to be reviewed and further trained by the company to get it right. I went through the drive thru to order dinner for my family. Not only was my husbands order wrong but I ordered chowmein and it is easily 90% onion. I understand the need for fillers but this is ridiculous. I picked most of it out and was left with practically nothing. So much so its not even enjoyable.
