Food: I sometimes feel foolish going out to buy a sandwich, but then I get an exceptional one and things make sense again. The corned beef on marble (with Swiss and kraut) was quite exceptional. Toasted bread, just the right amount of spread, good quality meet and cheese. Get a pickle on the side and you're good to go. I will definitely be back again. Service: The Cheers theme song came to mind when walking in to the shop. Although it was my first time there, the staff seemed like old friends, friendly and lively. Atmosphere: I have to say the atmosphere was quite refreshing. "No Frills." A lot of other delis/cafes in the area are almost open perfect looking - Perfectly curated Instagram ready spots. Yummy! We visited Anna's Deli today for the first time because of the great reviews. I had a turkey sandwich with all the veggies and Annie's secret sauce on marble bread. It was piled high and so delicious. The bread was the softest I think I've ever eaten. It must be made in-house. My husband had 1/2 turkey and pastrami sandwich and a cup of shrimp corn chowder. He said the soup had a little kick to it and was tasty. He was sorry he didn't get a full sandwich also because it was so delicious. This will be a new favorite for us! read more

Super surprised by this place. I was not sure what could be so good about it but once I had my sandwich I was completely blown away. I had the Cuban and it was excellent. However, my husband had a sandwich (can't remember the name) and it was absolutely fantastic. I cannot believe how thin they slice the meat. They slice it super fine without shaving it. And they have a delicious sauce which is a mustard mayo mixture and it is phenomenal. Everything is all a cart here so a sandwich chips and a drink could get Quite pricey. read more

Stopped by while out of town. The shop is located in a strip shopping center in the UTC area. Our party had the Reuben and the Surfer. Both were fantastic. The deli was accommodating for our Keto following friends, as well. Everything was delightful! One of our guests had the potato salad which was super delicious too. No leftovers were had. Everything here is homemade and very fresh. I had the cubanna sandwich and potato salad. Very tasty and a unique spin on the Cuban sandwich. Loved how the meat was shaved to perfection and the hoagie roll was fresh crispy and light. This a great spot to get a quick sandwich they have many to choose from. This place came recommended from a client of mine and after reading a lot of positive reviews I was looking forward to giving it a try on my way into Siesta Key. We walked into a line that was about 15 people deep and moving rather slow. One person was taking orders and two people were putting together sandwiches so it took a long time just to order our food. I have no problem waiting for a great sandwich so I stayed patient and took my time to figure out what I wanted to order. After seeing how big the sandwiches were my girlfriend and I decided to split a roast beef sandwich along with a side of potato salad and a fountain drink. The sandwich was around $7.49, the side of potato salad was $1.49 and our small fountain drink was $1.99. Our total should have been right around $11. Yet, somehow it came out to $14.10. Why is that? Because they charge you extra for cheese. They also charge you extra for lettuce AND onion AND pickles. THEN they ask if you want their secret sauce on your sandwich. I was expecting something super unique and they came back with deli mustard and mayonnaise combined. Oh, and that was an upcharge as well. You mix mustard and mayonnaise together and call it your secret sauce? That's real original. I'm surprised they didn't charge us for salt and pepper, or the brown bag that it was served in, or a dine in fee. How can a sandwich shop charge you extra for cheese, low-end toppings, and mayonnaise and mustard? So basically, the price you see on the menu is the price that you're paying for meat and bread ONLY. Everything else will cost you. It's not much, but it adds up quickly and just doesn't make sense. Like I mentioned earlier, I don't mind waiting for a great sandwich. This was average at best. The bread was great, but overall the sandwich was very average. If I could suggest a new name for Anna's it would be "Nickel & Diming since 1971." read more

This is their newest location, but We've been coming to Anna's for many many years now, and they've been around forever, it really is a childhood place. They have a few locations, but only in Sarasota. A great sandwich shop. Love their pumpernickel bread which goes with every sandwich in my opinion, and of course Anna's signature sauce for the sandwiches. And those creations are just so good, simple but so tasty. My personal favorite is bologna on pumpernickel (personal preference, but marble and wheat are great too) with Anna's sauce, cucumber and Swiss. Just yumm! Not too much to it, BUT I LOVE IT!! Huge portions!!! A lot of times my husband and I will just split a full one and it's plenty! Love the salads: chicken, egg, potato, all just very good, but my favorite is potato. Staff is very good too, friendly and helpful. I believe it's a must while in Sarasota! Thought I'd give this sandwich shop a try after a recommendation from my fiancé. My first visit was fantastic. Went during a busy lunch rush, ordered at the counter, grabbed my drink and sat down. My food was ready as soon as I took a seat. I got the Italian, on special. It was toasted, flavorful, on yummy bread and had plenty of sauce on it. One of the best Italian sandwiches I've ever had. The potato salad is good, but not great, could use more mayo and seasoning. Over $13 for my sandwich, drink and potato salad. My second visit was lacking. Got the chicken salad, didn't realize it was full of walnuts, bummer. The chicken was white/dark meat but I found myself spitting out gristle, there wasn't much salad on the sandwich to begin with. And the potato salad tasted different this time, even less mayo in this batch. I thought the customer service was pretty decent the first visit, the blonde woman taking orders is very pleasant. My second visit I asked for extra napkins and got scolded by a dark haired woman, who I think might be the manager...I ran a restaurant for 5 years and I just thought that was unnecessary. Overall, slightly pricey for a sandwich shop, decent quality food, OK customer service, not much ambiance either. Despite how I feel about the overall vibe of this establishment I'll be back, but only for the sake of the amazing Italian sandwich on special. I think I'll take my order to go next time. read more

This was a location our Tennessee Women's Rowing team had cater to us during our NCAA regatta event in Sarasota, FL. The staff catered to our every need from the moment I sent our LARGE order to the time I picked it up and everything was labeled and boxed. Our rowers can eat and they were asking for Anna's again the next day. I highly recommend due to a welcoming environment, nice and accommodating staff, budget-friendly menus and delicious food that can serve a large group of people at once. The sandwich was not bad, but for those who like toppings on their sandwich this is certainly a place to avoid. All they offer is lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and onions and their "specialty sandwiches" only come with one or two of these toppings. A real disappointment for someone who loves a loaded sandwich. All in all, I paid $8 for a small simple sandwich that I could have made at home. Looked like something that my mom would have stuffed in a sandwich bag in my school lunchbox when I was a kid. On the plus side, nice staff and very clean place. If you love simple sandwiches then certainly try it. If you like stuff on your sandwich then go somewhere else. read more
