Just got a scrumptious calzone-their sauce is excellent authentic Italian. Love their gluten free pizza and their manicotti is delicious.

The team is very helpful and respectful to the customers. The menu is bountiful and so many options. The few times I've been to the bar, the bartender has been super nice and helpful. Love the feel when you go in, its like walking into a family's home. I highly recommend. read more

So I was never big on this place but my kid and husband love it. I've always gotten the calzone and it's always been- just okay. And I refused to get pasta because if I want pasta it's easy to toss together at home. Two weeks ago I got something called tri-meat spaghetti. On a whim. Trifecta spaghetti? It was a special. It had meatballs, sausage, and POT ROAST on it. That pot roast was maybe the best I've ever eaten. Seriously. And I'm quite the cook at home. This is all I'm ever going to order again. Best pizza in 23832 for SURE! If you're looking for authentic Italian cuisine, Anna's Pizza on Hull St is spot on! Living 3 minutes down the road from this tasty place has been a God send on nights that I don't feel like cooking for my family of 5 (though Id drive from miles away for this stuff ) After your first few steps in the door, the pleasantly overwhelming scent of fresh bread & tomato sauce hits you. I have always been immediately greeted and seated with little to no wait. The servers have always started up conversation with not only my fiancé and I like they've known us for years (although now, technically they have ) but also my children, even after my son going back and forth between lemonade and apple juice for what seemed like 6 years. So, clearly they have experience! My only negative (if you can even call it that): The ONE time we were seated by a bus boy, he neglected to put our name on the seating chart. Wanting to give the staff the benefit of the doubt after all the positive experiences we've had there, we just waited. The owner (Joe) could see us from the bar and kept looking over with a baffled look as another table was helped, while we were still without menus. He immediately grabbed some menus and apologized and not a minute later our waitress arrived. As for the bus boy, he was clearly remorseful as indicated in his repetitive apology. Prices are great and the portion sizes are filling. The staff are always cheerful, friendly, and attentive. Their pizzas are always extra cheesy, large, and for sure a true Italian style pizza. Had to give it a five star tonight because it was ready 10 minutes quicker than they said it would be and it was hot and delicious! Unfortunately I had to do carry out tonight to feed the family so there are no pictures of the restaurant to follow. These guys have been in business for at least 25 years on this side of town. They have always consistently been good and have undergone a huge renovation in the last couple of years to accommodate their growth. You know it's going to be a good dinner the minute you open the doors and smell that fresh yeasty bread baked smell. Word to the wise- if you order a salad here make sure you get your dressing on the side because they will drown it in it if you do not! If you're a newcomer on the southside make sure you give Annas a chance they are probably one of the best Italian joints anywhere on the Hull Street Corridor. read more

My fiancé has Stage 4 esophageal cancer. With chemo and radiation it's been close to impossible to eat. Tonight he thought he could eat a child's portion ziti and meatballs. Knowing this was a family owned Italian restaurant that we've frequented, I felt confident we'd be successful at Anna's. I called for takeout, planning to order Chicken Parm for myself. I asked if they has ziti with sauce on their children's menu. The female who answered the phone proceeded to read the children's menu first saying we have different types of spaghetti. I asked again if they had ziti and she read the entire kids menu again. I explained that my fiancé had stage 4 esophageal cancer and that he thought he could eat ziti or rigatoni with tomato sauce... she read the kids menu AGAIN. I said, mam, he can't eat spaghetti and asked if they could make it with ziti? She said NO and hung up. I'm appalled and in shock at the insensitivity of this establishment- you have lost a customer for life!! Vegetarian options: I got the spaghetti with mushrooms sauce,tomato sauce with mushrooms, it also came with bread and a salad(three cucumbers and two slices of a tomato). There was a lot of options to add meat and a lot cheese own option. Most menu items had descriptions under the dish. Didn't see anything Vegan unless you get the "salad" with house vinaigrette. The menu was a basic Italian restaurant menu. They have a lot of specials and deals for certain nights. It seemed like a very popular spot for families but there was a lot of rumbling in a little waiting area/check out area. A few groups left before being called so my group got sat ravitively quickly. Our server was very pleasant, checking on us a few times and knew the in and outs of menu.The host/manager was also good about going around checking tables. The food over all okay. The meal was pleasant but the dynamic change when we went to go pay the bill at the counter. The cashier seemed very cramped and another server pushed pass me to hand the cashier a receipt. Beside them was another server counting receipts on the counter and blocking the card reader. The cashier said excuse me a few time. The server shouted something along the lines of "come on "cashier's name"" and then the cashier said "move". When talking to us the cashier was fine but you could tell that they were perturbed. Stopped into Anna's on Friday night pretty late. Just got a couple of pizzas with some family. We ordered a Hawaiian (Ham and Pineapple) and a Pepperoni. Both were good. Nothing incredible. The crust was thin and a bit soggy towards the center of the pizza. Our server was good too. Again, nothing incredible for he took fine care of us. The ambiance was kitchy with your standard over the top Italian flair. If I'm in that area again I may stop by. I'll definitely go to Anna's over any of the chain places. read more

This place obviously is well-liked by the regulars. But really the food is nothing special. From the mozzarella sticks, to the wings, to the pizza. That being said my rating is not due to either of those. It's because the service is just atrocious. From the one lady shouting to other staff from 10 feet away, to our server who took 20 minutes to take our order after we got our drinks and then never saw her again because she "has a large table." Not bad. A cheese steak and some fries later and I felt everything was pretty good. When you walk in, it is surprising how dark it is...in a good way. The colors are darker and the dark stained wood makes it feel like evening inside. My friend got a burger...and it was just slightly better than school lunch quality. Of course, that is what you get when you order a burger at an Italian place. So I won't really hold that against them. Lastly we have the crew inside. There is an air of surliness. food was mediocre but customer service was trash. In my 30 years of life i've never had a bad experience at a restaurant until now. My child accidentally turned over his drink and the waitress decided not to get it up. Instead of the owners speaking with the employee for not cleaning it, they decide to get upset with my family because we have to walk through it. What sense does that make? So words were exchanged an I left upset. I spent over $100 here and the food was regular, nothing spectacular. The customer service was very trash & I am extremely upset. Do not go here if you have kids because God forbid they make a mess or have to get up out their seat they will mumble about you amongst themselves. One of the party members happened to overhear and notify me they were talking about us. Saying "it's like a playground" because there were 5 kids with us and they went to the bathroom one at a time and were walking back and forth. I usually love this place but I don't know if I will be returning. Meatball sub was just 4 meatballs and a very small amount of sauce on a sub toll... no cheese. Any other meatball sub I have gotten anywhere else typically includes melted mozzarella or provolone. It was a sad meatball sub. I added some of my own marinara and shredded mozzarella and put it in the air fryer and made it all better. Ordered fettuccini alfredo with shrimp, got ziti with marinara instead, didnt realize it until I got home, and they offered to replace it for free the next time I eat there. Fries have never been great, but today very limp, had to pop them in the air fryer and season them a bit more. Rest of my order was ok. Desserts are great though! Overall for spending $70, the food was not worth it I'm sorry to say. Used to be a great Italian restaurant....maybe Anna's having a bad day. read more

Sporting a blue and white checked chef's coat and red bandana, the chef is compelled for all time to greet each visitor with a hearty thumbs-up. I pat his plaster shoulder for good luck as I walk through the double doors to pick up my order. Joe is behind the register, and calls to me as I cross the threshold. "Hey! Good to see ya. Pepperoni, yeah?" A natural smile is playing softly on his face and he pulls my pizza box off the large oven behind him. He is jovial and kind; I feel at ease in this dimly lit corridor as I hand over my card. The large one-topping rings up to $14.45 plus tax and will serve my hungry brood of four - most nights with a slice to spare. The drool-inducing essence of the pie wafts from the counter top to my olfactory glands as I wait on the receipt to print. Having picked up this exact order every Thursday for the last year and a half, I know exactly what is awaiting my taste buds when I get home. I know that the beet red sauce will satisfy my competing needs for savory and sweet. I know that the real melted cheeses will stretch and ooze to my heart's content. I consider myself a little bit of a pizza snob. When you grow up in the Northeast, you get spoiled with all types of really good pizza. When you bite into Anna's pizza, you can tell that they're from the Northeast and know how to make their pizza that way. My husband and I had to find a new pizza place as the one we used to hit up on Tuesdays is now 40 minutes away. After asking for a couple recommendations at work, we tried Anna's one Friday night. My test of a great pizza place is how good a plain pie is. They didn't disappoint. The sauce has a really good flavor with a mix of sweet and savory -- which I prefer! The cheese was a good amount. The crust is thin on the bottom and pillowy on the edge. I prefer a fairly thin all around pizza, but my husband prefers the thicker crust so it's been a good compromise for us. A trick I've always learned is to ask about specials when you call in your order. There's usually some sort of deal where you can get what you're looking for cheaper or with a bonus! Also, their lunch specials are pretty good. They have a couple $5 ones that are hard to beat! We've been about three times now and most of the time the pizza's really good. One time it was just okay, but definitely won't stop me from coming back. read more

The food is good and if they put you in the right room it has atmosphere but the owners are not very nice or customer oriented. I asked for black olives in my spaghetti sauce and they charged me two dollars. You can buy whole can for less. They should tell customers if there will be an extra charge. When paying our bill the owner was very arrogant and loud causing embarrassment. Her comment was, well you ordered something that was not on the dish so of course it would cost more. My sister and her husband ran into another situation with the food that was purchased to take to a family who had lost a loved one. Their response was with the same negative attitude. We were pleasantly surprised by Anna's! Restaurant has a nice atmosphere for a strip mall. We started with the garlic knots... Tasted good but could have used more garlic. I haven't visited here in a few years, and I couldn't remember why. They have done a lot of work on the place! The added a lot more space, but it feels the opposite! I felt very cramped! They have squeezed as many tables as possible and added a bar. The food is pretty good and Cannolies get me every single time!! Portion size is pretty decent as well! Our waitress was awesome! She stayed on top of our table, keeping our drinks full, collecting dishes we were finished with, and making sure we were all good. But, not too much though. Just right! Overall, good food, well taken care of, good time! Just smooshy. I couldn't remember why we stopped visiting here. Then the bill came. My parents were with me, so all I ended up with on my tab was cheese sticks, a coffee, and a cannoli. My bill was over $15! Before tip! I ordered our dinner online, on the company's Website where it says that your first online order gets a 10% discount--still does--but when I got to the restaurant, the employees acted like they had no knowledge of the offer and they wouldn't honor it. Just passing through the area on a holiday weekend and this was a great choice to eat at. Ordered the garlic knots and 14 inch Meat Lovers pizza. The garlic knots could use a bit more butter, my personal opinion because I love butter. The handmade pizza was hot and delicious!
