Formaggi and cheesesteak spring roll
Aurora C.

I've been here twice now. The first time we went we got fish tacos (which were strangely not listed on the menu last time or this time), and the portion was huge (despite being half size with three tacos) but the flavors were bland. We decided to give Annata another go this year, and ordered the formaggi (meats, cheeses, tapenade), sea bass, and cheesesteak spring roll. The meats were fine, spring roll was good but the prime rib was a little dry, and then the sea bass was super fishy and did not taste well, so we did not finish it. It is a shame, because it is actually really nice inside, and though the wait staff seems short-staffed and busy, they are usually polite. I just don't think I'll go again because the food struck out twice.

After a few hours kayaking, my husband, and I found this cute little town and wine bar where we had a late lunch. I was extremely impressed by the service and food. Excellent! We ordered several things from their small plates menu and everything was super tasty and not skimpy at all. Also, they have a full bar and an extensive wine selection. I would 100% return!

First time to visit Annata- we aren't big wine people so we went with cocktails- the hot honey Margarita and apple butter Old fashioned. Seafood bisque was good, alittle "grainy" for a bisque but loaded with seafood and good flavor. Oyster of the day was From Barnaget bay and was delicious and so fresh. We also had the Annata egg roll (sausage eggplant and arugula and fontina in a tomato bisque sauce) shishito peppers and small portion of Sea Bass in a flavorful tomato broth

We haven't been here in a while but I had an early birthday dinner here for my sister. This dining room is really fun with inviting and relaxing chairs. Our food is always good here and they have an updated menu since the last time i was here pre-2020. I think it was time for a change and I liked the new additions. Our server was great. When it came time to pay their machine didn't leave an option to tip on the card which was really weird but we happened to have enough cash to tip properly. Came with a friend on a Saturday night and we sat at the bar. I had already eaten but she had not. I started with a lemon drop martini straight up. It was missing the sugar rim but otherwise good. We ordered both oyster plates. They were good. The after dinner drink of a mint martini was delicious.

Service was great. Atmosphere was excellent. Food was awesome. The whipped ricotta with honey rocked! Hubby goes here for lunch to get their Caesar salad and wanted to go for dinner.

I've been to annata several times. The food is great but the portions fall short. It's expensive, given the portion size. My favs: *Figtini- if you like fig, you'll love this cocktail! On the sweet side, pairs well with any savory dish, as it's a light cocktail. *Heart of Palm Dip- get it. Period. *Locatelli Encrusted Halibut- A great dish! Slightly crusted on the outside. The tomatoes and peppers offer a slight acidic taste that pairs well with the savory flavor of the prosciutto/spinach/bean/ and halibut. The ambiance is perfect for a date night. Catch them on the weekend to enjoy some live music. The restaurants located in the center of town. Street parking can be a little tricky, as it's located in the middle of town. Park on one of the neighboring residential streets and walk over. Make sure you make a res, as they get busy!

The perfect date night dining experience. Tucked in the quaint town of Hammonton, Annata Wine Bar transports you to what feels like the heart of Italy. The restaurant walls are lined with bottles of wine, dim lights, and oversized arm chairs, sure to give you ALL the romantic vibes (and vines for that matter). I started with the glass of a local sparkling blueberry wine and my boyfriend, an Italian Jackass (blood orange, Tito's, and ginger beer). Both drinks were absolutely delicious. Dinner started with a complementary (fresh out the oven) seeded-bread and what seemed like a sun-dried tomato olive oil. Superb! While it was my first time visit, my boyfriend knows all the go-tos on the menu. We ordered a small meat and cheese board (with spiced olives) and the heart of palm dip which he raved about. The charcuterie board was as expected but the star of the night was the dip. The second the warm dip and pita hits your mouth, there's no going back. I'd go back and just order that as my meal. It is quite, rich in flavor, though. As for the entrees, we ordered the small gnocchi duo, both made in wine sauces. OOF! By far some of the best homemade gnocchi I've ever had. It melts in your mouth. We also shared the risotto with beef braciole. So delicious! My first risotto in a red sauce and I'm not mad about it. The beef was very dry but still tasty. Though, we felt like we had to be rolled out of there, we couldn't leave without trying the creme brûlée cheesecake. INSANELY GOOD! The staff is beyond accommodating and sweet. Can't wait to return in the future.

Calamari

Annata is a consistently good, casual-yet-classy joint that radiates a welcome, chill vibe. Everyone looks good in the dimmed light, beneath the spacious ceiling, sipping a cocktail and perusing the leather-bound wine list. Our last visit's highlights included the pork tenderloin, wrapped in prosciutto, and the pappardelle with shrimp. The pork was served medium, with a stripe of pink lining the center of the cut. The prosciutto was expertly rendered-an unctuous, crisp crust. We had some pacing issues, with the calamari coming out just after the Manhattans arrived (is squid a good accompaniment to an exquisitely crafted bourbon Manhattan? Because rye wasn't available-boo! I-don't think so), and our wine order was taken only after our entrées arrived. The service is brisk and the staff knowledgeable. The bleed through from the private party rooms competed with the live entertainment in the main dining room, all of which subtracts from the dining experience when you're looking for some quiet conversation. Annata is a must-try in charming Hammonton.

Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere, and always great wine and cocktails. This has become one of my favorite spots for a guaranteed great night out!

Raspberry Lemon Tarte

The food was fantastic! We had a strawberry mojito and a blueberry lemon sangria. Next, shishito peppers with a soy glaze and cilantro to start. Then Annata salad and Caesar salad. We had dessert shortly after. Everything was delicious. Service was good as well. Go here if you want a quick appetizer or a day on the town! Superb, authentic food and wonderful atmosphere. Also - this was my first review so you know it's gooooood ;)

Ahi tuna
Tommy J.

While visiting downtown we decided to dine in and try this spot. Based on reviews we expected to be wowed. Overall was meh. Ahi tuna entree was ok. Tuna was chewy and had a microwave texture like leftovers. Risotto with beef braciole was very good at the beginning. But seemed to get bland after several bites. Beef braciole was a bit dry. Service was very good and friendly.

Ask the Community - Annata Wine Bar

Why are there two prices listed on the menu? For example, gnocchi 15/25

It indicates two portion sizes. Smaller ‘solo’ portion or a larger ‘family’ size portion. Thanks for asking and we hope to see you soon!

I literally said to myself as I drove around Somerville that I wish there was a wine or cocktail bar for...mature people like myself to chill at. So I looked up wine bars and boom - VintEdge was right down the street. I came in around 9pm, picked a comfy seat by the window, and ordered. Can you believe I had never had an espresso martini until that evening?? So my first was a pumpkin espresso martini. Well I may have had 2. And another drink. Ahem. The service was great, not fussy, and I wasn't rushed even as we approached last call. Visit 2: having heard about my great experience there alone, my cousin arranged to meet me there last week. Or so she thought. Through a series of mutual miscommunications, I was here at the crib waiting for her, while she was at the wine bar waiting for me. Once we figured that out, she got us some food to go and we ate here at home. Verdict: -excellent seating options - stools, couches, chairs -food is so so good. Tartare, truffle fries. Fig jam pizza -drinks include awesome bottles and seasonal takes on old favorites This could be my new spot.

Can't wait to come back and try more of their menu. The staff were busy but still polite and attentive.

fun spot for drinks & tapas!…read more i don't usually like chains, but i can appreciate barcelona wine bar for its good vibes! if it was closer, i could definitely see myself here more with the girls in the summer. i came here with some friends before a noah kahan show due to its proximity to the BSL, and it was a good time! my favorite dish we had was the patatas bravas -- they were so good that i put in a second order. i can appreciate a good charcuterie board, but the other tapas we had weren't very memorable. i wanted to try the paella here, but ended up passing since our waiter told us that they take a while to prepare. in retrospect, i'm glad i didn't order the paella, the table next to us got one and it did not look very impressive. i wouldn't say the food here is particularly memorable (other than the patatas bravas lol), but i think you come for the vibes. my friend said that service is notably good as well, though it was a bit slow when we were there. we probably wouldn't have minded the slow service if we didn't have a concert to catch. overall, a solid spot!

We were a party of 8 and they were so nice to setup a table where we could all sit together even though it looked like they were full. None of our friends have ever been here so I let them decide what they wanted to order. We had many different tastes of wines to start from a Chardonnay, a pinot Grigio to a Shira. Everyone could not say enough of how good the wines tasted. The tables ordered charcuterie boards, a hot honey, pepperoni flatbread, margarita flatbread, pistachio pesto flatbread, two different types of french fries and a meatball martini. The group raved about the flavors of the different flatbreads. The pistachio flatbread was a great hit. No one would ever think of a flatbread with pistachios. Josh and Nick the bartender took care of us really great. We never had a wait for anything..

The wine list offers a solid selection of both red and white wines, available by the glass or bottle, and they also serve wine flights--three 2.5 oz pours, if I remember correctly. The cons: The menu isn't posted online (see my photos for sample menus), so you'll need to be comfortable going in without previewing your options. It's also not marked for gluten-free items, so plan on asking your server for guidance. Most of the wines feature grapes sourced from California, with a few selections from South Africa and at least one Malbec from Chile. Aside from some Oakville Cab Sauvs, I'm not a big fan of California wines--so if you are, you'll likely feel right at home here.

We arrived early around 4:30 and noticed there was plenty of open seating in the bar area. They start you with the most delicious, soft, chewy exterior bread bites. You can tell the plain evoo they provide to dip it is superior quality. It was very bright and fruity. Lirona was our server and provided attentive and well timed service. Food was delicious. Cocktails were well executed. We noticed management was on the floor the entire time ensuring things were going smoothly. We will definitely return. The next visit may be a light bite at the bar. The menu is a very nice size. That along with the fact that the place has gone a lil viral concerned me a little. There is nothing to worry about. This place delivers on quality service and food in a lovely, modern atmosphere. We only have one ding for our evening. I had requested a cozy two top that wasn't in the middle of the restaurant. We were seated at a two seater directly behind the glass door when you enter the dining room from the bar area. We felt subject to all traffic in the restaurant and felt a smidge smooshed. They even carted chairs past us to the bar area while we were there. I would never want to be seated there again. That was disappointing. We giggled upon entry to the foyer at the music they have playing on repeat. It made me smile.

It's beautifully decorated with several artificial lemon trees and vines throughout the bar and dining room. I loved the lighting fixtures and the color scheme too. They specialize in table side dishes which you can only get in the dining room, so make your reservation well in advance since this spot is hard to get into last minute. I had the spritz flight to drink with my choice of 3 of the 4 available options. I had the limoncello, calabrian, and Hugo ranked from worst to best. The flight glasses were larger than expected and these were very easy to drink without a lot of alcohol. They were good, but I've had better. My husband got a hot black tea which he enjoyed & admired the acopa teaspoon it was served with. They brought out freshly baked rolls with olive oil and these were delicious and the best part of the meal, because I felt like the overall experience was below average. For appetizers, we got a single order of the Caesar salad and the table side order of the Scallops Brûlée. The Caesar was very underdressed. The bite I had tasted like straight lettuce and parmesan, so we had to ask for extra dressing which made it better but still a bit underwhelming. It was more acidic than other Caesar dressings we've had with almost no anchovy. The table side presentation for the scallops took a bit of time, and after taking my first bite it was cold and undercooked. I had to send this back and asked for it to be finished in the kitchen. The second scallop dish was very charred and the sugar crusted topping was too much for me. For how delicate scallops are, I didn't really like how over-seasoned these were. The pea and asparagus puree helped to balance the flavors slightly but I wouldn't get this again. We noticed the manager walking around and in past experiences, usually they would stop by to make sure the second dish was to our liking. He stopped at a lot of other tables, including the one right next to us, but skipped ours several times. For entrees, my husband got the pork chop at the waitress's recommendation. I got the chicken parm which was served with a side of pasta in marinara and the chicken parm had both vodka sauce and marinara. This was one of the most under seasoned dishes I've had at a fine dining restaurant. The marinara was runny, and there was no fresh basil on top either. It's like they forgot salt completely and I've had better chicken parm's at mom & pop pizza shops. The cavatelli pasta with marinara sauce was also bland and I only had two bites. The pork chop on the other hand was flavorful and juicy, but after having one of the most incredible pork chops in Ventnor, this just wasn't that memorable in comparison. The presentation looked like it was a Mexican fajitas dish. I was expecting something more refined, and you could see all the pepper juice swimming around the mashed sweet potatoes. This was our first time here and we were celebrating a birthday but we opted out of the free dessert and sparkler since loud music and attention is the last thing my husband wants, so maybe that's why the manager didn't stop by. Who knows? They did gift us with a signed card which was a nice touch. We enjoyed the rapport from all the staff we did encounter. The waitress was very friendly and personable. The table bussers made funny jokes and were very surprised we didn't want to take home any of our half eaten entrees, but it just wasn't worth taking.
