we decided to stop by Annia's kitchen for breakfast on a Friday because I heard it gets pretty packed on the weekends and I wanted to catch a window seat so my son could see the planes taking off. parking on a Friday morning was ezpz, plenty of spaces. definitely delivers on views of planes and helicopters taking off and landing. we ordered the breakfast burrito, a kids plate - I believe it was toast, an egg, 2 sausages and hash brown for $6.99 - a steal in my opinion!, and the country fried steak dish. it took about 25 minutes for our food to come out. maybe it was because I was freezing outside or my toddler was getting restless but I thought the wait was too long. (also confused why it was so cold out and nobody turned on the heaters that were on the patio??) the wait staff wears shirts that say their food is not canned and thank you for your patience, so maybe slow food service is common here. the food was mediocre but reasonably priced, the portions are large, wait staff was really friendly and you get a great view of planes but I definitely think the wait was a bit too long for the food. read more

I am a Driver for a Senior community. In the past, I have brought Residents here for lunch. I promised myself I would come here for breakfast on my day off. Today is that day. It was not as crowded as I had experienced in the past, but the place was well occupied. The staff is friendly and attentive. I ordered the ABC Omelet (Avocado Bacon Cheese) with shredded hash browns, and biscuits and gravy. The entire meal was fresh and delicious. Ample portions, too, so don't be scared by the menu prices. Got to this establishment around 1pm on a Saturday during my visit to So Cal and to my surprise there were only a few tables left so that made me think that maybe there was something good about it. It feels like they can use some help to bring the place up to date but I am inclined to think that the view of small planes landing and taking off is what attracts peoples attention. The staff is friendly and they knew my friend so we quickly got a table. The food was pretty good but I only give it 3.5 stars (but I rounded up) because half of one of the dishes I got was missing and the food was good but not worth the price in my opinion. When I got home and realized that part of it was missing I immediately called and they offered to either give me a free meal next time or to come pick up the missing parts. I never trust restaurants when they say they will give me a free meal because even with proof of the promise typically restaurants do not honor it in my experience so I went back to get my missing beans and rice. Just found our new local spot! This is much more than a little diner it's an entire experience. No place like it where you can have a relaxing brunch and get a little aviation show. I met a friend here, my first time ever. The restaurant is a decent size with a patio facing the tarmac. On this day, I ordered the veggie omelette which was a good portion. The service wasn't bad, could have been better but they got a little busy after we arrived. Seems to be mostly elderly locals and that's all good. I'll probably go back and try another dish. I love this restaurant located in the SGV El Monte Airport off of Santa Anita. My family has been going for a few years, mostly for breakfast. Great staff, service is fast, and friendly!! Hidden gem! First time trying this place because I wanted to bring my daughter to an interesting breakfast option outside of Denny's. I had pork chops and eggs with biscuits and gravy. I was so surprised. The pork chops were thick and perfectly cooked. My husband's steak was so flavorful. Huge portions and really good quality. Friendly staff. Extensive all day menu though they're only open til 3pm. I forgot to take a picture before we ate but I can guarantee you will NOT go wrong with this place. After a failed attempt at going to Saigon Restaurant (they close on Wednesday) my friend suggested this place. I was surprised because I had no idea they had a restaurant here. Its so cool because they have this outdoor area where you can sit and watch the planes come in/take off. After glancing at the menu (which by the way, they have a lot of different choices) I went with the Steak Picado con Huevos and my friend got the Chile Verde con Huevos. This place was booming with all different types of people and it was cool seeing all the planes take off. I was in one of those planes a few years ago when my friend was a student pilot. Brought back good memories. Within 10 minutes our food arrived and everything was delicious! The portions are pretty good and its pretty tasty. I'm pretty bias when it comes to mexican food because I grew up in Lincoln Heights but I liked it here. Cant wait to come back and try out other items on the menu. Very nice service too! read more

I was a little dubious about going to the airport for any type of meal, let alone Mexican cuisine, but this restaurant proves that you can't judge a book by the cover. I'm a taquito lover, and thought to compare their taquitos to some that I felt were great. These taquitos were amazing and cooked just right, with the best crunch, and the most savory beef. I moved here to El Monte over a year ago and live nearby the airport and had heard about the restaurant there so for a year I've been looking forward to visiting there finally after an early doctor appointment was able to go to Annia's Kitchen. It was a Thursday morning and it did seem quite busy it was around 10:00 a.m. we picked our own seats we sat outside so we can watch the planes somebody came over and got us two glasses of water and we asked for orange juice and a cup of coffee which took about 15 minutes to get we looked over the menu quite extensively as we didn't know what we were going to get at first boyfriend settled on a stack of pancakes with some sides and I wanted a avocado omelette. Our waiter finally came over to get our order after we waited about 30 minutes maybe longer it was hard to get refills besides the water and our food didn't come out for another 40 minutes. There was a table of two that sat by us that came in after us that got our food about 20 minutes before we did. Another thing that was sort of annoying was when I asked the waiter a question about a different omelette and he stated oh it's all the same. The bill is what surprised us the most somehow it came out to $50 so for what it's worth I don't think we were impressed at all my boyfriend never even finished his pancakes they sat in the fridge and I finally threw them out. I'm really disappointed we didn't have a better experience here because if we had we would have become weekly regulars I'm sure as we are walking distance from the location and I would have loved to have somewhere to regularly go and try other items on the menu but I don't think it's worth it just my opinion read more

The food was delicious, but waiting 45 minutes for it to be delivered to the table was ridiculous. No one told us why it was taking so long. I finally had to flag someone down to find out when my husband's order would arrive at the table since I already got my food a couple of minutes before. We ordered around 10:30 (steak Picado con Huevos and Bone in Ham Steak with scrambled eggs and fruit). It was 45 minutes before our food was delivered. No one said the kitchen was slammed or anything. Finally, they brought my order and the waitress said she would be right back with the rest of the order. After a few minutes, I flagged down a waiter to ask for a manager. He asked what was wrong and I told him we were still waiting for the other meal. He asked what the meal was and he went back in to the kitchen to find out what was going on. The waitress finally brought the other meal When I went up to pay and leave, I told the girl at the counter about the issues. She just smiled and said everyone has to wait the same amount of time. Sometimes the kitchen gets slammed so everyone has to wait a little longer. I said if it's going to take this long all of the time I won't be coming back. Her response was "that's ok."
