Came here since it's a local breakfast spot. Located at the San gabriel valley airport, this can be founded inside. Plenty of parking in the front lot. It gets pretty crowded so come early if you don't like waiting. I was here around 9:30 am and took one of the last few seats. Food does take awhile to come, think I waited about 25 minutes. I tried out these two items. Chuckwagon Steak - Asked for medium rare and probably came somewhere between medium rare and medium but I mean the steak piece was cut pretty thin. Came with a type of bread which I picked biscuits and gravy. I enjoyed it and for $15.99 it was not bad at all! (4/5) French toast, two eggs, two bacon, and two sausage - Pretty much the whole shabang and only $11.99. Everything tasted pretty good and felt like this was pretty value. Not sure what the hype is about this place. The host said the wait would be 15-20 minutes, but we ended up waiting 45 minutes. Once seated, service was slow and it took another 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Which was really frustrating. The food was just okay but really greasy. Our server was trying his best, but overall the experience just didn't cut it. On a Sunday morning, this was not worth the hassle -- I wouldn't come back. The food served is American/Mexican breakfast, which I love. The prices are great and the portions are huge! The kids love coming here because you can watch all the planes fly out. I would recommend sitting outside to get a better view of the planes. There's a roof over the patio area so it's not too hot out there! MY family and I have been going to Annia's Kitchen for several years since we live in the area. It is located Inside the small El Monte Airport. The food is sooo good and the coffee is divine! The atmosphere is super friendly, your made to feel at home and are treated like family. They have the best homemade salsa (made by the owner himself)! When weather permits, the patio seating outside is great and gives you a nice view of the San Gabriel mountains and the planes & helicopters leaving and landing as you eat. We have brought so may friends and family to visit Annia's Kitchen for breakfast. They have always come back with family and friends to enjoy the atmosphere and fabulous food here. This is my second time here. The place was busy but the wait time moves fairly well. I had the two egg plate with bacon, hash brown and toast. I was very pleased with my food. The bacon was crispy, just how I like it, the hash browns were little brown and crispy, they were so good. I requested sourdough toast and I don't know what bread company they use, but that was the best sourdough toast I've had in in a long time and with the jam it was heavenly. The side of the house salsa was yummy and so savory. Only thing I was not a fan of was the coffee. I could not tell if it was cheap coffee or unfiltered water they use and they did not have regular half and half. Staff was attentive and efficient and pleasant. Nice thing about this Restaurant is they have plenty of seating outside and inside. You may prefer to sit outside if you want to see the planes take off. We visited Annia's on a Sunday morning. The place was busy. The wait to be seated was 15 minutes, not bad considering how busy they were. There was plenty of seating in the lobby/waiting area with public bathrooms near by. We were given the option to sit inside or outside. Inside, there are plenty of tables and booths for large or small groups. Outside over looks the tarmac giving you views of planes taking off. Service was good as water and coffee were promptly brought out. We placed our order and actually waited longer for the food than we did to be seated. Been here before but today I wasn't impressed. We ordered the menudo came out cold, had to get it reheated. We then had to wait 45-60 min to get our food once we ordered. Another table was complaining about the time they had little kids with them. The waiter told them there was a party of 15 ahead of them and their food was next, it's Sunday you'd think they would be prepared for this. We patiently waited for our food to come and when it did we were disappointed. I had the ribeye steak, eggs with fries sad to say the fries cold, steak was rushed, done on the outside uncooked in the inside. My girl got the steak picado and eggs with beans, she enjoyed the steak picado but her beans came out cold. Overall the food didn't hit, was expecting better quality but the rushed cook and sitting plates made food quality not so good and cold! It was quite busy inside and out but it was a gorgeous morning to watch the air crafts. Our server was incredibly friendly and ensured that we were attended to, especially with an infant. For anyone visited with a child, they do have high chairs available. I ordered their ABC omelette with hash browns and biscuits and gravy, and it was good. FOOD - I ordered the French Toast and the Chilaquiles and both were underwhelming and pretty bland. The French Toast was very simple and lacked flavor. When I found out there's a vintage planes/autos display at the airport on every fourth Sunday of the month, I knew I had to bring BF here. And it's apparently common to spend Sunday brunch here at Annia's either before or after you browse the display and watch planes take off and land while you feast on breakfast. We didn't know what time the display was, so when we arrived at 1 pm and saw no vintage planes or cars on display, we knew we must have missed it. However, we were still hungry, so we dined in at Annia's. The patio seating was all full so we sat at one of the booths closer to the kitchen. They serve breakfast all day as well as Mexican fare, so I ordered the French toast, which came in six halves ($6.99), and BF got the breakfast burrito ($10.99). Food was good, 3 stars good. One thing I saw that made me wince was that I had a view of the kitchen from my seat and saw our plates come up from the stove. They used a cleaning cloth to wipe the edges of our plates (so that it's clean presentation-wise) and the cloth did touch our food. Unsure how clean the cloth was since it was sitting there on their counters, but since BF and I didn't taste anything weird during our meal and didn't feel like our stomachs were turning, I didn't bother saying anything. But seeing it did give me slight anxiety. Other than that, service was good. They checked in with us several times to see if we needed anything. Since they were still a little busy, we paid at the register after we were done so we could head out to the outdoor area of the airport to watch the planes. read more
