Have been hearing about this place for a while and wanted to try it. Ordering is difficult because they don't allow dine-in or walk-ups. Unless you're doing delivery, you can only order by drive-thru and they had one person taking orders so it takes a long time. I'd plan for about an hour if I went again in the future. There's no website or displayed menu in the drive-thru so I looked at pics online and, because those pics were old, the prices were different. It was hard to figure out what things cost without asking the single employee outside. I didn't ask because she had a huge line and I felt like it would be holding her up. The food is good, though my rice was still crunchy and I wasn't a fan of the mac & cheese. The pork and gravy was tasty. The corn muffin was very good. The yams were also very good. Yams and Mac & cheese were soooo good! I cldnt wait I ate the corn muffin first (not in pic). I have been coming here for dinner since 2014. The food has always been really good until these last two months. The dressing tastes like cornbread with uncooked celery, asked for turkey greens and got pork greens, mac and cheese is cheesy but really cheap ghetto cheesy, the peach cobbler taste like dough. Oh man I have such mixed feelings about how many stars to give this place. Let me start by agreeing with the masses, DELICIOUS food...but very slow service. I have visited Annie Laura's kitchen 3 times now and each time the food has been so good. I'm a sucker for sides more so than the mains, and their mac and cheese along with the sweet potato souffle are so yummy. I have been in Atlanta for 2 years now and this is one of the only soul food restaurants that serve on a Sunday. That is where I thought the issue was here. Two of my three visits were on a Sunday and the line was wrapped around the building . You will wait about 45 mins to an hour on a Sunday for your food. My last visit however was last Monday and it was still about a 30 minute wait. Tbh it is very weird that they have a drive thru at all. Its not like they have a working speaker to take your order before you get to the window. You place your order and pay at the window and then wait there for your food. Also you better know what you want before you get there if you plan on going through the drive thru because there's no menu on the outside. Thank goodness for Yelp! Luckily people post pictures and menu items online so you can look through while waiting. I would def recommend coming here ONLY if you have the spare time. Food is good. Would really like to see this business scale and do better. No reason why folks should have to wait so long. I ordered at the drive through and was told (along with everybody else) to pull to the front after paying and someone would bring my order out (there is nowhere to pull to the front). Sat in the way for 10 minutes. Nobody ever came out, I went in and they made my plate for me. Please look into process improvement, maybe each team member has a designated thing they do everyday (a drive through team of 2-1 take orders, 1 fulfill). A SOULFULL MESS!!! This place has moved to another building and I use to go to the 1st building that they were in which was pretty run down. This place actually has CARPETED FLOORS (well it did when I was last there) which is a total no no in my book when u go to restaurants for the food/grease/juices etc..etc... get stuck in rug from when people drop their food let alone the smells. And the personality of the workers: Loud, hollering in the back. The cashiers are no caring, no hospitality snotty females who obviously are REPRESENTATIVES of this so called soul food restaurant being that everyone that I have ran into have the same demeanor.
