My teenage son has been getting perms here for the past few years. Annie and Danet does a really great job with male perms. The price has gone up. In the past it's been $120, most recently $160 with a trim. Still reasonable. He gets them a couple times a year. Although Danet doesn't speak English, Annie translates and makes sure that everything is good. I've also gotten color/cut, curtain bangs from Annie. I was looking for a new place for a haircut -- There were so many good reviews of this place, I decided to go for it! It's always a bit nerve wracking finding a new salon. I booked an appointment with Kainoa and it was great! She listened to exactly what I wanted in length and style and made sure to ask me if I was good with the length / layers throughout the cut. My partner and I (queer couple) went to Anni Style Salon today and had such a great experience! Sometimes going into haircut places can feel uncomfortable when asking for a men's cut bc we're not men, but Danet was so kind and respectful the whole time. She did both our perms and haircuts, and the results looked exactly like the reference pictures we brought in. There was a slight language barrier at times, but Danet always checked in to make sure we were happy with the length and style, which we really appreciated. I never really had a set stylist but Annie is so nice and talented that I've been a returning customer for 3 years. I've loved every haircut, color, perm that I've received from her. Update: The owner reached out to me and handled the situation very professionally. They offered a full refund, which I really appreciate since I will be having someone to fix my hair and it will cost me. While my initial experience was disappointing, I respect how seriously they took my feedback and how quickly they resolved it. I was very disappointed. I only asked her, Danet, to trim my hair because it was damaged. I kept it very simple and asked her not to cut my front hair too short, just around chin length, with only two layers. I like thick, heavy layers. However, it turned out very choppy with messy layers, and my front hair was cut as short as my nose. By the time I realized, it was too late. The lengths aren't even at all. one side has more front hair than the other. She also struggled to style my hair and left it looking messy, like I had just woken up. I know it might sound like I'm overreacting, but I was really sad seeing how messy and unflattering it looked, and I tried not to cry. I always bring photos to show stylists what I'm looking for so we don't misunderstand each other, but it seemed like she didn't understand due to a language barrier. I really wish I hadn't gone to her. I know hair will grow back eventually, but my hair is part of my identity, and now I have to live with this result. I wish I had read some of the reviews about her beforehand... I'm just so sad and disappointed how it turned out and I have to pay for that. read more

I asked for curtain bangs with blended layers with reference photos but instead I got a choppy, uneven cut Danet did not seem to be receptive when I was showing the reference photos and explaining the haircut I wanted Definitely was not worth $90 Edit: They reached out to me and said that they cannot offer a full refund. They offered for me to come back for Annie to fix the haircut but "We will keep 30% salon credit of your service of that day". It's unclear what keeping 30% salon credit means, but in any case I can't trust that Annie would be any better or be able to fix the damage that Danet caused. Will be going to a different salon to fix the bad haircut. read more

Came in for a mens haircut and wave perm and told them that I didn't want it too curly and showed them a photo from their own instagram page. I was scheduled with Danet but it seemed like shes not trusted to cut mens hair yet so Annie stepped in and did a pretty good job with the haircut. I was told I needed an iron perm if i didn't want it to be too curly so I trusted them and Danet was the one to do it. It was my first time getting an iron perm so I didn't know what to expect but the result was honestly terrible. It was way curlier than I was expecting and I think Annie tried to make not look as bad at the end when she was styling it. I was also charged $190 instead of the expected $120 because iron perms cost more but this was NOT explained to me originally. Its been about a month now and there hasn't been a single day where I've liked how my hair looks. The curls are outrageous and I've been washing my hair almost everyday to try to relax them but theres been minimal effect. TLDR don't get a perm from Danet, shes clearly still learning and will ruin your hair. They were very friendly but the quality of the work was seriously lacking. read more

I've been going to Annie's for quite a long time (even before Covid) and this has to be the best place to get a haircut, especially if you're an Asian man like me. Prior to Annie, I had always struggled to get a good stylist for my hair. In my opinion, going to Supercuts didn't really cut it since they weren't well versed with the complexity of Asian hair. I used to go to a $10 salon my parents went to, but again, wasn't really what I wanted. I stumbled across Annie working in Sola Salon at that time from a friend's recommendation. Since then, I knew I found my hairstylist and have been going to Annie's, starting from Sola Salon in Irvine/Tustin, then to a small area in a bigger salon, and to finally opening her own in Lake Forest with a very skilled team. What a journey it has been. The haircuts and styling are always on point. Even the most up-to-date styles like wolfcuts, perms, etc can be done and it's evident Annie and her team always do their research to keep up with what's in style now (I've even seen them practice on dummies) I can guarantee that you won't be disappointed coming here for a haircut/styling. I always get my haircuts/styling from Annie, but I can vouch that all the other stylists cuts and styles hair really well. With exceptional customer service (provides snacks and drinks, kind and communicative), Annie always gets the job done well and I genuinely recommend her and her team for your haircuts/styling. Everyone is super friendly and they always offer a drink to guests. They are especially good with kids which is great. I haven't had one disappointing hair cut, color or perm experience here. I was really debating writing this review, but I feel like it needs to be posted since honest reviews are necessary to help a business understand what their customers find important in their products and services. I will be honest, the digital perm technique here is not great. This is how my hair turned out after a hair wash (I made sure to wait 48 hours before even wetting my hair). When the stylist took out the rollers, I did freak out a little bit because the stylist left the rollers in for too long and I ended up with an afro. They ended up relaxing my afro into my normal head of hair, which I appreciate, but as you can tell from the pictures, my hair is now completely fried and unmanageable. Again, the girls here are great, I really appreciated the assistant for refilling my snacks and drinks so often, that was super sweet. read more
