They do not properly sanitize & you will get an infection. While i was waiting i even watched them dipping a girls fingers into the dip powder ... unsanitary if you don't know that is a great way to get a finger infection. But that's just the beginning of the signs this place is unsanitary... As i sat in the pedicure chair looking around at all the nasty used files sitting in cups at every pedicure station. I asked "The son" of the salon owner... why is all this used stuff out here. He said for himself that "some of us including myself are lazy and leave the tools and stuff out until we sanitize in the furnace at night ((furnace??? )) whatever that means. I said I called ahEad & specifically asked if you use a new pumice stone , buffer, file and tools are properly put into the machines and the woman on the phone said yes. I get here and the lady rolls over after doing one client and pulls toolls out not from a sanatized package and and used buffer , stained usedd pumice stone edges clearly curved , and a file with multiple difFernt polish colors on it already....none of it was new. When I asked why, the boy comes oveR and says ""We can't use new ones on everyy customer but we wash it". I said you can't wash or sanatize files buffers and pumice stones , and it's illegal. He said "no it's not. " so clearly he Shouldn't be doing nails because he hasn't been to school and can't have a license if he doesn't know this stuff. So .. don't go here unless you want an infection. Tracy the nail tech Was great and listened to my concerns and even brought out a new pumice stone in the package once she heard me even mention it, she wasnt able to fully communicate so she called in the boy to talk to me but he is not a licensed tech clearly because he doesn't know what he talking about. I'm going to report this buisness thanks to I him :) And the salon stinks. I've never been in a saLon that smelled like ass *update the fact that the owner replied and acknowledges that she doesn't use brand new pumice stone is disgusting! You can only put metal tools in the autoclave to kill 100% bacteria and viruses. Nails salon tools like pumice stones , emery boards, nail buffers , and foam toe separators need to be swapped out after EACH use to prevent the spread of bacteria. Cheap salons that don't follow best practices are this salon!!!! The holes are the exact reason it CANT be sanitized because there's so many places for it to hide lol don't listen to them save your feet and nails from infection!! What a hidden little gem!! This place is great. Got a dip mani by Linda who took all my dip concerns very seriously. I don't like it super thick so she was able to take her time and file them down to my liking. Reasonably priced, they do an great job and are quick without compromising quality. And what really made me want to give them the 5/5, they are Soo accommodating!! I had gotten out late from work with a chipped nail, in fear of it breaking off completely I was calling several salons, all who said they had already locked their doors despite their open listing time on yelp. I stumbled on Kimmys, called the salon - 15 min before their closing time. Linda was the nicest, and kept the salon open to do my nails. And she didn't make me feel rushed or like I was inconveniencing her one bit. Clean salon, attention to detail. What more can you ask for? Will Definately be back! read more

Hands down the best nail salon in San Antonio. I no longer live in San Antonio but whenever I make a trip back, I always stop by Kimmy's to get my pedicure. I've brought many friends to Kimmy's with me over the years and everyone I have brought have become instant fans. The ladies are always as sweet as can be and always make sure I'm happy with the job they've done. I have never walked away from this place less than 100% happy. I've been to so many nail salons in San Antonio and in many other cities and no one ever does as good of a job as the ladies at Kimmy's. Not only do they do a thorough job but they also keep all the new nail colors in stock. It's always a struggle to find the color that I want because there's so many good options. It's a good kind of struggle. Plus I love love love their pedicure packages with the paraffin wax. My feet always feel baby soft after my pedicures here. if I could give a ZERO I would I got foot fungus and the owner argued with me when I called him to let him know about it telling me I have to come show it to him even though I wasn't asking for a refund. I had offered to give him through just to show him how bad the fungus was and how he cut my toenails. and even after not requesting a refund, he still argued with me to come so he could see it. This is my favorite nail salon ever. I've been going for a little over a year now and I've never been dissatisfied with any of the sets I've gotten. All of the workers do a good job and they have a wide variety of polishes, gels, and dips. It's always quick and great service even when you walk-in. I recently got my favorite set so far which is for the winter Kim freehanded small snowflakes and they look amazing. I absolutely LOVE when Kim does my nails because they always come out perfect. The new owner is creepy and acts super nice but if you come in to fix a nail he's rude and upset about it. I've been going to Kimmy's for two months now and I must say they really exceed my expectations every time! Never waited more than 15 minutes to be seated. The nail techs are really friendly and actually listen to how I want my nails. They always offer me something to drink and I'm always happy with my nails. The price is pretty average for San Antonio area but I wish they were a little cheaper. I paid $35 for white tips which is $10 higher than what I used to pay in Dallas. The quality of their work has been pretty consistent in the realm of manicures, pedicures, and waxing. I have been satisfied with all of the services that I have received. The prices are reasonable, and they do offer sodas, water, and wine. I always see regulars come in here so this comes to show that the nail and spa service has continued consistency. It does tend to get busy at peak hours and on weekends, so you may have the techs hopping from person to person while you are being serviced. This past Saturday 2/18/2023, I went Kimmy Nail & Spa. I hadn't been in a couple years and remembered they HAD good service. I went inside and to my surprise, it was not packed for a Saturday. I was told to pick a color for my pedicure/ dip powder and was seated immediately. The lady, whom I don't remember her name, had the nail tools (nail file, nail clippers etc.) all laid out; when typically the nail tech opens them fresh out of the pack in front of you. First red flag. Second was that she kept cutting me cuticles despite me pulling away. As a result my cuticles are inflamed as seen in the photo. Third red flag was that she used this CLEARLY dirty brush to scrub my feet. That was my last straw. She painted my toe nails with gel polish and cleaned off the excess gel with another used brush. I let her finish the pedicure but decided not to get my nails done with dip. The owner was concerned and asked why. I showed him the picture of the dirty tools and he was adamant they they are sanitized. But the brushes clearly weren't. Instead of trying to correct the issue right then and there, he stated that he would tell her to not use that brush and that either he or his wife would do my nails. Problem is she shouldn't be using that brush to begin with! This salon has gone downhill. Avoid at all costs. The pain is not worth it. read more

How we on my most recent visit I felt so rushed (there was no one in there so it wasn't as if they were super busy), the dip nail job that the guy did was crappy and even when I tried to explain what I wasn't satisfied with he didn't listen. I did a "yelp search" for nails salons around work, because my feet were in dire need of attention after a long week at work and an overdue pedicure. I arrived and was immediately greeted at the reception desk. I asked if they were able to do a pedicure and would understand if not because it was about an hour before closing. It was no problem, picked my color and sat down. They offer you something to drink and they have the massage chairs, plus chairs for the kids. I have never seen that, so nice. Kim does a great job on the french powder manicure. She seems sweet and even fixed one of my nails for free on the following week after it broke. I do wish they would lightly massage your hands/arms after these manicures though. Once, I had to kindly remind one of the techs that he forgot to put the hot towels on my legs which came with the pedicure I asked for. He seemed absorbed with what was on the tv so that is likely why he forgot. However, not a huge deal. He still did a great job on my pedicure, apologized when I mentioned it, and took care of it. I've gone here about six times and it's always hit or miss. I was very happy with my dip polish a few months ago, but for me it's too expensive to do often. I have had great pedicures here too. I was not very happy with the quality of the regular manicure I received yesterday. Polish was not dried properly before putting on a top coat. Told me to put my hand in front of the fan and of course --air bubbles. The polish was also uneven. I will keep going back though because I do like the workers. read more
