Try the eggs Benedict, absolutely delicious and so were the pancakes. They're huge portions, so there were plenty of leftovers, or shareable plates. We both ordered the eggs Benedict but my friend ordered the crab Benedict. Perfection on both ends. We both enjoyed an order of pancakes for the table to try and later take home. Service was wonderful, wait was about 15 minutes for a late Sunday brunch. You can sit inside or out, and we chose outdoors as is it was such a lovely day. There's a public parking nearby as well as street parking. I ended up finding street parking. Highly recommend this spot for brunch, breakfast, and birthdays.

I had to come here for brunch to get some shrimp and grits. They never disappoint. The inside is clean and spacious. The staff are friendly. The food comes out pretty fast. The best shrimp and grits you can ever eat in a restaurant. They're on point. It's creamy and cooked right. Very flavorful. My favorite spot for shrimp and grits.

Another Spilled Yolk. Another Wasted Egg. Just a couple of the names we erroneously called the Southern-inspired brunch spot we were headed to. After a 20-minute wait, we was seated under their covered patio which was comfortable even when the sun intermittently disappeared. Our server was perfectly lovely, but his check-ins with my table were few & far between, I suspect due to being short-staffed. My bf ordered a lunch duo of Chicken & Waffles (looked to be a half order) & cup of Jambalaya which was very good. I went super indulgent with Hash Brown Benedict (loved the mushroom hollandaise), & if that wasn't decadent enough, upgraded to Loaded Bacon Gouda Grits. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal; it's safe to assume everyone in my group did, as well.

    Same breakfast three years later.

Another good experience at another broken yoke. Glad that some things never really change.

I've come a few times for breakfast and they have a good variety of savory or sweet style breakfast/brunch. I like regular back and egg style kind of breakfast which they have & they also have desserts style breakfast waffles and French toast plates. The service moves fast and efficient, we never had longer than a 20 minute wait for a table when we've come here. They're located in the middle of downtown Burbank so there's lots of street parking nearby where you can find free street parking or close by meter parking.

Stopped in here for brunch the other day and I was a bit underwhelmed. We parked right in the front on the street, which now has to be paid for. We got seated right away and I got the traditional breakfast with a waffle on the side. The breakfast was just ok. I would've liked the eggs to be more fluffy, and my toast was soggy. I wouldn't also liked the potatoes and bacon to be a bit lore crispy. The waffle was very yummy though, it was perfectly warm and crispy. They seem to have a large menu of alcoholic drinks but no kinda special lattes or iced coffees. Place is also very family friendly.

Another Broken Egg Cafe never disappoints! Our daughter specifically asked to have brunch here before her flight home to Nashville. The wait was not long -- we joined the waitlist online as we parked. We were then seated when we arrived. I can't resist the Lobster & Brie Omelette. The husband chose from the seasonal menu this time -- Louisiana Benedict. The daughter -- Bourbon Street Pancakes. Everything was OMG delicious! Fluffy pancakes, wonderful sauces, fresh fruit, crispy potatoes, creamy grits and coffee in their super-cute mugs. It's all so satisfying. Service has always been great -- today was no exception. Thank you Jacky!

Came here for brunch for the second time because I really enjoy a good Southern-style breakfast, and the food here is usually really good. This visit, my boyfriend and I both ordered the crab cake Benedict. Flavor-wise, it's definitely a standout rich, savory, and exactly what you want from a brunch dish like that. The restaurant was busy, but we were seated pretty quickly, which I appreciated. The ambiance is great for a brunch date lively but still comfortable. The only downside this time was the wait for the food. It took a little longer than expected, and by the time it arrived we were pretty hungry. Unfortunately, the dishes came out cold, and it seemed like they may have been sitting out for a bit. We didn't send them back, but that was definitely disappointing. Overall, I still like this spot and would come back. The flavors and atmosphere are there I just hope the kitchen timing improves next time.

Such a great breakfast spot. We had my daughter's birthday breakfast celebration here before heading to Universal Studios...& it was perfect. We enjoyed all the food. Lots of food for a good price. You must get the beignets & cinnamon roll French toast. You can thank me later.

Tameka was our waitress and she was amazing from start to end. Outstanding service, Food was great, mimosas were . The place is clean, even the bathrooms.

This is what the item actually looks like with absolutely NO lobster on the plate.
    Jonathan F.

The lobster omelet did not have lobster, just the langostinos that were suppose to accompany the lobster. When I pressed the matter with the owner's son/host and I asked him to speak with the manager about it, he just coldly said that she was to busy to talk to me. No smile when we walked in, checked in, or an apology for the problem with the food. When the server took the omelet back to the kitchen, the chef just said they don't have lobster, but they could put more langostino. Langostinos are not only a fraction of the cost, but they are different in flavor and texture as well. They are pulling a scam with the lobster there. It is not ethical and is actually illegal to advertise things on the menu that you don't have. It should be removed if they don't intend to carry it.

Located next to city hall so street parking is limited and it'll cost you. Decor gave me a spanish vibe with coffee mugs lined at the entrance but, if you look at the menu, they aim for more southern-inspired meals. We chose to eat inside instead of the patio cause it was overcast in burbank that morning, making it too chilly. But good to know we could bring our pup to join us, if we wanted. Lots of options to choose from on the menu, most of us went with the seasonal options. Our drinks werent ideal which made us dubious about the meals. Coffees came out lukewarm and too bitter while my mocktail, the strawberry lemonade spritzer was subtle. Reminded me more of how a watermelon-based drink would taste. For food, we had the Louisiana benedict, the corned beef and Brussels hash, and the apple fritter French toast. The benedict was disappointing. It was supposed to have hollandaise sauce but either a minimal amount was placed or it was forgotten. By the time we were checked on, i didnt want to bother bringing it up. The accompanying large portion of potatoes could have used some seasoning so I used a generous amount of the vinegar bottle. The star was the Apple Fritter French toast!! It was melt in your mouth delicious. Definitely understand why it was labeled a guest favorite on the menu. It stood out enough for me to suggest a visit here.

Parking lot of close by and free which is nice. Took my friend here for her birthday brunch. She got a bloody Mary which she said was super good. So got two of those. I got a lavender drink with Saint Germaine and champagne and a tequila mule. Both were on the sweet side but still good flavor. So the downside is there is only one salad on the menu. There should be at least two. We both got the chicken Cobb with with grilled chicken. I am glad you could sub grilled for the fried to make it healthier. It came with a honey mustard dressing which was good but it wasnt Cobb dressing which is typically blue cheese. Still overall it was a good salad. We did add avocado, bell pepper, onion, and cucumber to it. The bowls were super cute too. The service overall was a little slow even though there wasnt a lot of people. So giving it a 4 out of 5. Id still be back occasionally.

Completely different menu. Food was beyond sub par you can make the food at home and would taste better! Save your money. Everything we had from two orders of "taquitos", "esquite", quesadillas and a blood orange mojito. The only thing with a bit of flavor was the esquite, but again to pay for roasted corn on the cob with just mayo and cheese? For $13 ? NEVER AGAIN. I have a problem with the way they name their items which is a bit misleading. For example, they have an item called taquitos, meaning you would expect a rolled fried taquitos. What came was tacos dorados so why is it named taquitos? They DID write on the menu that it's fried tacos..but again why are they not just calling it TACOS DORADOS? Same with esquite typically esquites are corn off the cob but this was on the COBB and yes it was described on the menu as on the Cobb but again why not call it ELOTE instead of esquite. Clearly this is semantics but just frustrating. If you want authentic Mexican food there is a Don Cuco's around the block that is WAY better than this place. They are at a different tier than this Kalavera's location. If you're a drinker perhaps that would make the food taste better...so disappointed and a waste of money!

I stopped in for breakfast and ordered the breakfast burrito with crispy breakfast potatoes, and WOW... everything was delicious! The burrito was packed with flavor, generously filled, perfectly toasted, and the potatoes were crispy and seasoned just right. Definitely the kind of breakfast that makes you sit back afterward and think, "That was GOOD!" But honestly, the food is only part of why I enjoyed this place so much. The 1950s diner atmosphere is fantastic. The retro décor, classic diner aesthetic, chrome details, vintage touches, background music, and especially the working tabletop jukebox make the entire restaurant feel like you've stepped into another era. And then there's the service. Friendly. Welcoming. Attentive. Genuine. The owner is awesome and you can tell there's real pride in this restaurant. The place was also spotlessly clean, which is something I really appreciate when dining out. There are plenty of places where you can grab breakfast. What makes The Great Grill different is that you're getting great food + great service + a memorable experience all in one. If you're in Burbank, Glendale, the San Fernando Valley, or anywhere nearby, and you're looking for a classic American diner, great breakfast, delicious comfort food, and a genuine 1950s atmosphere, I highly recommend giving this place a try. I forgot exactly how I first stumbled upon Cafe de Olla, but I've come here with my family a few…read moretimes, and we've definitely decided this location is better than the Monrovia one. First, their cafe de olla is absolutely delicious. This remains one of the only places where I genuinely enjoy ordering cafe de olla. Second, their food is incredible. They serve excellent portions, everything tastes fresh, and the food is just so good. I've had their taquitos and chilaquiles, and both were delicious. The only downside is that every time I've come, there has usually been a bit of a wait, especially because the restaurant itself is pretty small with limited seating. The inside is cute, but small, so we usually end up sitting outside. This is where their Monrovia location does have the advantage because it has much more space. Parking can also be tricky. Good luck finding a spot close enough where you don't have to walk far. We usually end up parking in the residential area around the corner. That said, the staff are wonderful and always try to be as accommodating as possible despite how busy they are. Highly recommend this place if you're okay with possibly waiting a bit for seating. The food and cafe de olla are worth it.

Let's start this review with the parking situation. What's up with not having parking at a lot of…read morerestaurants? We pay an arm and a leg and they can't even provide parking? My friend and I went into this Cafe De Olla on the 17th of this month at 2pm. She met me there and lives in Burbank. I have been here once, I believe back in 2018. It was pretty solid in every way. We were warmly greeted by Erick--the host, standing by the podium and right away he got us a seat inside. After like 5 minutes, Elsa, our server approached us to take our order. My friend and I both felt like we were being rushed through our meal. Food came out hot and quick. We opted for a few of their dishes. Tacos Mananeros, came with 4 tacos ($18.95), with 4 complimentary sauces. 2 of the sauces were very spicy and Elsa didn't warn us. We also got the Veggie Omelette with tomatoes, onions, spinach, mushrooms, Jack cheese, topped with avocado and a side order of hash browns. They made the hash browns perfectly. Told her nice and crispy on the top and that's what we got. (18.95). We also shared their French Toast topped with Strawberry, Blueberries, and Blackberries. ($16.95) topped with lots of Whipped Cream (which I love) and a side of syrup. We needed to add more syrup to make the French Toast more moist. The French Toast was a bit dry for our liking. Even the people sitting next to us who ordered the same thing were saying the same. On the flip side, the other 2 dishes tasted fresh and delicious. Great portions for the prices. We also got this drink called Powerful from their smoothies section of the menu. It was called Green Smoothie. Ingredients were the following: blueberries, honey, Greek Vanilla yogurt, avocado and Almond milk. It was simply very refreshing and delicious. My friend wanted some sort of Latte, Espresso, Americano, etc..but they didn't have any of those drinks. All they had was regular & decaf coffee. At first, I asked for Cranberry juice, and Jose, said they only had Apple and Orange juice. We found it a bit odd not to have any of those drinks. Going back to our server Elsa, she was a bit aloof and forgetful. I asked for a bowl of fruit, and it never made it to our table. After we were done eating, I asked for two to-go boxes and a bag, she forgot that too. We had to ask the other employees to get them for us. The same with to-go containers for our sauces. She forgot to bring napkins too. Jose, (our busboy), needs a raise and promotion! This young man read all the ingredients on the Taco menu which came with: bacon & egg, chorizo with potato & eggs, machaka/eggs, & nopaitos/eggs. The writing in their menu was very small. Another server by the name of Angel, truly was an angel. Checked on us while Elsa was taking orders over the phone. They have another location in Monrovia, a gender neutral restroom, place was very clean. Inside was small. It had 10 tables and nice couches with cozy, inspirational decor and pillows. Lovely music playing over head with a nice patio seating. Will I return? Yes, but not anytime soon! Also check for their business hours..
