The Hashbrown eggs Benedict was perfection. The crunchy, crispy hash browns were divine.

Our favorite breakfast spot. The food is amazing, staff is friendly and we LOVE that masks are not mandatory. Our service saved the day! The servers adhered to mask requirement while one lone hostess did not. We decided to ignore that flagrant disregard for health requirements and just enjoy our food. The bloody Mary's were delicious. Sadly, however, two of the three plates of food were cold. The disregard for mask requirements by the patrons along with less than two feet between tables and the food being cold will keep me away until after this pandemic. Where to begin....I've given this place three tries now for take-out which has proven to be a mistake every time. The first time I wasn't given 3 sides I ordered and paid for. The second time I had to go back because they forgot my beverage and utensils. The third time I was told my order would be ready in 20 minutes and after 40 minutes they started making it (and they were NOT busy whatsoever). Basically, they forgot my order and didn't own up to it. I finally received my food 45-50 minutes after ordering (one omelet) and the manager came over and dropped me a ticket to pay. Obviously disgusted, I told him about all three experiences to which he acted as though he could care less. I told him I couldn't believe he was handing me a full price ticket after all of this. He actually responded, "Well, you already said you weren't coming back again so why would I do anything for you?" I wish I was kidding. After seeing all of the negative reviews on Yelp, I guess I shouldn't be surprised by such an immature comment. The "can't be bothered" attitude obviously filters down to employees as no one speaks to you when you come in to pick up a to-go order. They just walk by you standing at the end of the bar where to-go orders are to be picked up like they don't see you until you find someone to interrupt who will help you. As many reviewers have stated, this establishment STILL NOT following Johnson County COVID guidelines. Hostesses and managers are not wearing masks while walking through the dining room. Do you see a trend of not caring about their customers? I do! If they are this unapologetic about not following health and safety guidelines in plain sight, it should raise serious concerns about what is going on in the kitchen behind closed doors. We started going to ABE Cafe's in Florida and I was very excited when this one opened but I simply cannot support this establishment. There are so many great breakfast places in the area. Do yourself a favor and avoid the aggravation by giving your money to a restaurant that actually earns your business and respects it's customers. read more

We have been here once before last year, and really enjoyed the food. We decided to visit today and it was definitely a huge mistake. Tables were packed essentially on top of each other (no social distancing whatsoever), only a few employees were wearing masks, and it was loud and chaotic. We waited about an hour on the Yelp waitlist and asked to sit by the big garage doors to at least be away from the cluster in the main dining room. All of this could be forgiven if the service was good, but that was also a mess. We waited a long time for our waiter to come acknowledge us, and once he did come we ordered right away because we heard the women at the table next to us complain about waiting 45 minutes for their food (and when they got theirs it was cold, so they had to send it back and got comped for their meal). However, it still took over 30 minutes to get our food (there was only two of us). If they are going to disregard COVID precautions and pack as many people in the restaurant as they can without masks, they should at least make sure that they can handle that many patrons - they clearly can't. Definitely won't be coming back anytime soon, both for the blatant disregard for COVID precautions and extremely slow service. read more

Apparently this establishment has decided they do not require their employees to wear masks during a pandemic, while working with and exposing the public. Multiple employees weren't wearing masks this morning, including the hostesses that greet customers at the door without masks, the bartender, and the owner. I can only assume the lack of masking that occurs in the front of the house is practiced by the food preparers as well which makes me even more nervous. I just cannot understand the blatant disregard for their customers (and employees) health. I personally will not be putting my family at risk by dining here again, even though it is my sons favorite breakfast joint. I have high risk individuals living under my roof, so after paying $70 for breakfast, I couldn't in good conscience serve the food to my family. read more

Ordered online at 11:45 am on a Sunday morning for pickup, gave me a time of 12:09 for pickup. Reached the restaurant at 12:30 to pick up and was told my order was not in their system, even though my credit card already showed the transaction. I was asked to repeat the order and It was taken down on a napkin with a promise of 10 minute turn-around. I show up at 12:55 and am told my order is in their system now but they're very busy and not sure when it'll be ready!! Doesn't matter how great your food is if your restaurant basics are not up to any standards. Will not be ordering from here again until I hear any different. read more

When other restaurants, including major chains with franchisees require all employees to where masks, it is obvious that the owner, the franchiser of this chain is exerting his will that COVID-19 is a hoax and he will not require his franchisees to insist on safe food handling practices even during a pandemic. If he doesn't care about something as simple as this, what type of standards are being enforced behind the doors of the kitchen? I will never set foot in this location ever again and will encourage my friends not to support you because of your continued lack of caring for the health of this community. read more

We have been here several times and always have had a great experience and great service. We love the indoor/outdoor area.

I had heard a lot of good things about this restaurant. But we were disappointed. The wait was long and the service was very poor. They were clearly overwhelmed. Our waitresses had way too many tables. Only got one refill on coffee and she messed up the check, it had food we didn't order and took 20 min to get the check paid. They were out of potatoes so my wife ordered grits. She brought her fruit and explained the kitchen messed up so she brought her grits too then charged us for both. She only checked on us once and was preoccupied when she did. The biscuits had been held too long and were hard and crumbled the rest of the food was lukewarm we didn't send it back because we didn't want to wait another 30 min more for the food. May give them another chance but well wait a few months. read more

Ordered from Uber eats and the food was so cold. The fruit on my pancakes were old. I got scrambled eggs and it was like half an egg. The beignets were not good at all, defiantly not what I expected. I honestly don't recommend ordering take out. read more

Trash, do not waste your time. iHop quality meals for way higher prices. The drinks are insanely over priced, a pitcher of mimosas was $26 (maybe 5 champ flutes worth in the pitcher) We waited 30 minutes to be seated, waited about 45 minutes to order when our waitress finally came back, and waited over an hour for our food. Ordered coffee as soon as we sat down and didn't receive a cup until about 30 minutes later. We ordered the house coffee because of the refills and only received one refill the entire two hours we were there. Once we ate, the waitress never came back to take our plates or give us a check. When I asked the front desk if they could give us our checks they said they couldn't find our tickets. I asked to speak to the manager as it was quite obvious we were not the only unhappy customers in the establishment at the time, and the owner came to our table instead. When I stated how we had been there almost two hours with the worst service ever he responded with asking if we wanted to stick around for free drinks. We weren't even drinking because the mimosas were so expensive to start off. Our waitress was no where to be found, the COVID guidelines are not practiced here, no one wears masks and there's no seating limits. Owner could care less about customer satisfaction. read more

Wanted to try an new place for brunch since the menu looked interesting. The initial service didn't start out well with cups of lukewarm and very bitter coffee, obviously sitting around a while. These were replaced with fresh, hot, but still quite bitter coffee. The omelettes served up quickly and were large, tasty, but not as hot as could be. Muffins were cold and hard. Side dish of completely inedible, hard, cold potatoes. When I inquired, was told these weren't the regular potatoes, but some substitutes. Nice to know but no offer to replace them. Fruit as a side dish was extra but very good. Service, well I asked for a hot sauce (ABEC Pepper sauce is like Log Cabin with a dash of peppers and peppers are the 8th ingredient. Ok if that's what you like). The hot sauce came, but not until after I finished my omelette. read more

I want to thank everyone at Another Broken Egg this morning for allowing my wife and I to dine at your soft opening. We were just going for breakfast but found out when we got there it was for "Friends and Family". And a HUGE shout out to Rene our server who was awesome by the way. And many thanks to John and I think Matt for stopping by and saying "HI". Now onto the food. OMG!!!! Seriously people. That Lobster and Grits was to die for, it was one the the best bites of breakfast I have had in Kansas City since coming back 4 years ago. The sauce was rich and creamy with tons of flavor. I think I just found my new favorite breakfast dish. My wife had the traditional and what she loved the best was the baked bacon, which had less fat but extra crispy which she loves. Finally, there was the Blueberry Goat Cheese Pancake. Are you kidding me! That was pretty amazing as well, blueberries in every bite. Now for those who know me I am not much for gushing over a restaurant. But I honestly can't wait to get back and try MORE of that southern influenced food. Another thing. Went on a Sunday with a group (total of 5 of us) We had reservations supposedly at 11 one of the guys went at 1030 to check in and it was still almost 1130 before we got seated. the hostess needed to wipe the smirk off her face and not be so ungodly rude. But the service was less than desired. After waiting for probably 10-15 minutes we finally got two of the 5 beverages. Coffee and a coke the other 3 had stuff ordered from the bar that probably took 20 minutes to get. The coffee guy wanted his coffee but had no silverware to stir in his sugar and or creamer. After catching the server to get silverware they finally brought the bar drinks. 2 of us had asked for water which we never got. They took our order finally after probably 30-40 minutes. It took forever to get the dishes. One of the orders had Belgian waffle which he said was cold. My eggs and another persons eggs tasted like they were rejected and reheated to serve to us. I watched no less than 6 other tables be seated ordered and served, finished and back out the door before we even got our food. Don't expect to go back anytime soon. Literally were there for 2 hours and 40 min to have breakfast and most of that was trying to flag the server down to get something. We only asked for water 3 times before we finally got it. and no body was offered a refill on there drinks. Thought that is the push in a restaurant to get the ticket total up. Especially bar drinks. read more

Food and drinks were fantastic! Wait staff seemed to still be in training and a little confused but very friendly to customers.

My party of six was very excited to try this spot and unfortunately were sorely disappointed. We had been told that our wait would be 20 min and we ended up standing outside in the heat for over an hour. Once inside we were seated and then it took another 10 min to even be greeted. Our server told us that the kitchen was "taking a minute" to get orders out, but it shouldn't be too long of a wait. She got our brunch drink orders and those and our waters didn't even come out for another 15 min. By this time we are starving and have been at the restaurant for far too long to not have had food yet. Our waters stayed empty for almost the duration of our visit and the restaurant had cleared out by the time we got our food, over an hour after having sat down. I would have thought that maybe we would have been offered some free brunch drinks or at least had our water glasses be kept full. Our server brought us out some small beignets, but there wasn't even enough on the plate for everyone to have one. The food finally came out lukewarm, but by this time we were all so hungry we just ate it. At the end of our visit the server told us that she was so tired and so happy that she had the next day off and that she might just call off the following day as well. Every table around us was dirty and hadn't even been cleared. There was trash and food all over the floors as well. All in all a pretty terrible experience and we will not be recommending this spot or returning. read more

We have been here many times and have had great food and service! Today we were a little disappointed in both though. We waited an hour for our food and when we received it, it was cold/lukewarm. Our waitress also seemed to not be able to handle all of her tables, as she only checked in with us once and we needed a few empty glasses filled among some other things. Not sure if they are short staffed but if so maybe they need to block off some tables to allow their staff to comfortably be able to attend to all of their customers. We also noticed a party of 10-15 who were seated after us and received their food and checks before we even got our room temperature food. I know we will be back but I hope they can make some changes to help staff and customers. read more

Unfortunately my experience here was not what I had planned. Hearing rave reviews of the food here, we were excited to try it out. Normal wait time considering it was a holiday weekend brunch. As soon as we got seated, we started to feel uneasy, but thought they were trying their best during COVID guidelines. Most tables were less than 3 feet between each table. Some so close if you backed your seat out you backed into the person behind you. I noticed the majority of the staff either not wearing a mask or not properly wearing their mask.I saw several people come in and out of the kitchen door without a mask on(I believe this was management) and none of the hosting staff even wearing a mask. Leading by example,I suppose. The issue didn't stop there. I understand mistakes happen so I try to be patient. We finally asked about our food 50 mins after ordering only to find out the server had forgotten to place our order and the table next to ours. I guess my issue is never once in the 50 mins that we waited did anyone ever check on us. I believe the manager did come out to talk to the table next to ours but again wasn't wearing a mask and at one point even wiped his mouth with his shirt while speaking with them. At this point we were over it and left. Without eating. I'm sad to see a place not taking in the local and state guidelines during these covid times. Especially after going to several other restaurants in the area that have been doing an excellent job. I want to get out to support these business, but this place made it very difficult to support. read more

Like many others, I was shocked by the complete disregard for any COVID precautions. I have dined out fairly regularly in the last 3 months and this is the only place taking no precautions. The employees are not wearing masks, not wearing them over nose/mouth, or pull them down to talk. We dined Saturday morning and every seat was occupied, absolutely no social distancing. We waited outside after checking in from the digital waitlist and when I could see open tables for 20 minutes we went inside to wait. Suddenly we were called to our table, almost appeared they forgot about the waitlist. Our table was sticky, and the waitress handed me a sauce from the bar and put it back when she dropped our check...so no disinfecting happening. The management seems overwhelmed... always running around like they're in chaos. The manager at the host stand will shout for other parties while you're standing right in front of her without even a greeting...also with no mask on. The food is good but not worth the rest. We brunch every Saturday and rotate through places...this was our third and last visit to this restaurant. read more

If I could give less stars I would. Stopped in to get one single to go order, which took forever only to open it and half of my order is missing. Not busy- after brunch time! Go back in to have the missing items (pancakes) made and 45 mins later they bring them out. Pancake's are the easiest thing to make and meanwhile the rest of my to go order is cold. At this point an apology or the gal at the front desk to stop starring at me and just acknowledge the mistake, but nope. Then she can't even figure out how to refund me after I was over the whole thing. I had to ask for a refund which she couldn't figure out her own computer and to top it off I had also tipped her for the to go order. Screw ups happen- we all get that but have some common sense no one wants cold food, no one wants their order missing and then have no sense of urgency to correct it or make up for it. I've eaten here a handful of times and am always pleased. The food is excellent, my favorite being the crab cake benedict. The yolks were perfectly runny, the whites were well cooked.
