I loved the lobster omelette, and my husband devoured his crab cake Benedict (the sausage really makes this dish). Since it's my birthday, i splurged a bit with the lemon blueberry goat cheese pancakes, and I would do that again. I don't like anything overly sweet, and these weren't. Not my first time at ABE, but my first at this location. DIfferent location, same quality food and GREAT service!! Shrimp and city grits has to be the most flavorful meal I've ever had. That's why I always get it. Our EXCELLENT waitress, Kay, highly suggested the kiwi mango mimosa and it didn't disappoint. Hubby had chicken and cinnamon rooll French toast. It's an average place to eat so don't bother if there's a wait. The place is decorated nicely and there's jazz lightly playing over the speakers so that's cool. As far as the service, I unfortunately have to say it was sub-par. The server was admittedly new to the restaurant but I think she meant new to serving period. We waited 15 minutes after ordering to get our drinks. She just looked lost the entire time. The food was just OK...nothing to write home about or anything. Wife had the cinnamon roll French toast and I had the biscuits and gravy with eggs and sausage. The French toast had almost a caramel sauce to it but I'm guessing that was the cinnamon butter sauce in the description. No biggie unless your wife can't stand caramel. The biscuits and gravy were good but not great. For all of the talk about Louisiana and it's hot food there was no hot sauce. Came here with my boyfriend during Presidents' Day weekend - it was amazing! There was a wait when we arrived so we sat at the bar which was a great decision. Our waitress was super friendly and very attentive. Our coffees were never empty! For our meals we had crab cake eggs Benedict, salmon eggs Benedict, and we ordered one lemon blueberry goat cheese pancake (we were intrigued by the combination of ingredients and had to try it). Safe to say everything was delicious. Our only complaint would be that the poached eggs were a bit over cooked for us. We prefer our eggs to be runny. We will make sure to specify next time. And so I went with my grown son when he came to town. The food has gone down down down but is high high high. I asked for CRISP bacon, it was soft and chewy and did not taste like Applewood bacon. My poached eggs were just warm and the hollandaise had no flavor, no lemon, tasted packaged. What has happened here. My son paid and he said the price was unreal, especially for a breakfast for two. It's a hit or miss here. I love everything on the menu, but the last time I got food from here it was really dry and had been sitting for a while under a heat lamp. I got the pancakes that came with the birthday special and te REALLY cool thng was that I was alowed to get one their specialty pancakes, (which was really awesome,) I really wasn't too fond of the peach cobbler type of pancakes but then i guess it was okay. I really wished I could have gotten the goat cheese lemon blueberry type, but I am guessing that if I did there would have been an upcharge for them, but ten agaonmaybe not they seemed to be pretty cool about it. I came in early this week and the food just doesn't have any flavor at all. I ordered the Louisiana crawfish bowl and it was terrible.
