My visit to this establishment was a delight and deemed worthy of my return. It's Fall y'all! So we found Seasonal specials on the menu- Go check it out! I went with the Crab Cakes Eggs Benedict with Grits. Crab cakes were delicious. English muffins were perfectly toasted with a balanced crunchiness of the "nooks" and "crannies" and nestled atop the (2 )muffins-delicious crabcake crowned with a poached egg and the best hollandaise sauce and small pcs of thick bacon. Grits were just perfect!!! Loved our waitress., Francesca. I even went home with two coffee mugs! Considering going there before I go back to California. read more

I eat here fairly regularly and typically get the same thing each time. The staff remembers me and I'm greeted with a smiled every time. Always love coming here for the atmosphere, but the service is superb. Thank you Mario for the marvelous drink selection. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and has a grand attitude with a contagious smile. Would 10/10 recommend asking for him or Madison if you're dining in. read more

Got a work order delivered. I ordered the City Grits and they were sooo good. They were good even though they weren't piping hot (expected). These will be my go to from now on whenever I eat. 11/21/19- Picked up a group order and my experience was not that great. Was told that they charge for silverware, very weird, especially when I'm picking up and paying for multiple orders. Was told that an order wasn't placed, when I was in front of my coworker and listened as she ordered and was asked for a call back number. Amazing food! There can be a wait so check in on Yelp before you arrive so you'll have a table when you get there.

While the prices are slightly steep. We enjoyed our time. The atmosphere is great. The outside seating is desired. There can be a long wait time, so call ahead so you're not surprised by the massive line out the door. Every time I have been there I have been pleased with my food, my children's food, and the service from walking in the door, sitting at the table, and walking back out. Each team member makes you feel greatly appreciated and desired to be there. We will be eating here more often! read more

OMG! A MUST! If you have never been here, you have to go. The food is amazing. There was a 20-30 minute but through Yelp I was able to add our name to the wait list which gives you a time you need to be at the restaurant to check in. Once we got there, we waited maybe 10 minutes. Our server Sarah was great! I had the shrimp and grits, my boyfriend had stack of pancakes and lobster omelette and my daughter had the kids pancakes. Wait was SO LONG to sit, drink and eat. Arrived at 1230 ( after putting be.on wait-list 30mins before that ) didn't get my food till 2pm. Waitress did not apologise or explain when I asked why the food was taking so long ( 45 mins between when food was ordered and arrived ). She just said it was busy ( mind you they close at 2pm so the restaurant was half empty at by this point ) Food is a 3/5 at best, if I knew how long everything would take, would've gone with somewhere else - Was starving by the time it arrived so just ate it anyways! My wife and I stopped by for brunch this morning about mid morning. They were busy since it was a Sunday but I was so impressed at how fast they got us into the restaurant. The host was super taking us to our table and our server (I think Hannah?) was outstanding: yay! I had the southwest scrambler which was excellent-wish it had been a bit bigger but it was delicious! My wife ordered the Ipanema coffee pancakes-these were ok, but the stack of three had two that were burned and tough...they tried to hide them under the top one (see picture). So, it was too bad that was the case because I think they had potential. That's why I'm giving them three stars only-they shouldn't be sending out burned pancakes. 10/10 Recommend! This is my favorite brunch spot in Shreveport!! I always get their waffles with either bacon or sausage and their sausage is like no other! Each time I've gone it's been a lot of people so the wait was long but no more than 30 minutes but I'm assuming that's cause the food is so dang good! Their mimosas are okay. Our servers have been awesome! I think our last servers name was Jennifer. She was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu items. TLDR/BLUF: Don't give too much weight to any nay-sayers, give this place a shot and you likely will be extremely pleased with your choice. I quick glance at the low-star reviews reveal that people don't like this place because of the wait, the crowds, and the service from busy waiters... So what you're saying is, this place is so popular to the point that you have to wait a few minutes to eat and you then don't like it?? My point is, I don't really get the negative reviews for this place. The food is PRIME and our service was stellar. Perhaps they have a few bad waiters... I don't know, I haven't seen one yet. But I'd be shocked if someone could give me a reasonable argument that their food isn't awesome. Quick anecdote that relates, I promise: My first time in New Orleans, literally every single person I talked to said, "oh, you MUST go to Cafe Du Monde to get their beignets!" To which I obliged, and I agree, their beignets are pretty dang good. But to give you an idea of how much I like this place, if someone put Cafe Du Monde's beignets on a plate next to Another Broken Egg's biscuit beignets and forced me to choose, I would eat the latter every single time. Party of 5, we waited about 40 minutes for our table. Luckily we were able to shop in the boutique next door, where my sister got an amazing deal on some shoes from a local designer. A bit of a wait for the apps, but Aaron C was friendly and attentive. We started the fried green tomatoes, excellent! Beignets were on the small, crusty side with a great marmalade. My sister had the city grits, which were excellent. The addition of a scrambled makes it a full breakfast. My husband and I had the steel cut oats. They were on the dry side, but topped with great fruit. We shared a side of turkey sausage. Aunt Carolyn had the crab stack with country potatoes. Yummy. we were sat at 10:55. left at 12:04. never saw our waitress once. didn't get waters and silverware til 11:40, along with a drink we ordered when we sat down. asked for a manager, never saw one. we were completely neglected for an entire hour. i used to be a server, i understand being busy, but this place is consistently busy and there is no excuse for this kind of neglect. such a shame because they have such a good menu and great food. highly disappointed. this is the third time this has happened also. read more

With as busy as this place was and the fact that we waited an hour even with a reservation to even be seated, we were hoping it would be worth the wait. We finally got seated and our server basically kept forgetting we existed. So frustrating, took forever to get refills on drinks and coffee and food was basically cold when we got it. We would have complained, but by the time we got our food, it was basically closing Time (close at 2pm) and didn't want to risk getting our food spat in bc we want a redo at closing, even though we were there at 12:30 waiting to be seated. My husband and I used to love this place. Went almost every weekend. Love the lemon blueberry mimosas. But very quickly it went downhill. Two weeks ago they were not that busy I guess just understaffed.we are very patient people. Enjoying my drink and talking. Table behind us waited just as long for their food as we did. Ordered within 5 mins of each other. Two top also but when they got their food I heard the manager offer them a discount and we got our food after them we get nothing. Doesn't add up. I got so annoyed went to wait for husband in car. Husband brings it up to manager and she took bill from his hand in the middle of talking and gives him a whole 4 dollars off. Such a shame. I only really go when my family or friends ask me to... well I went today and the wait was an hour and a half then they sat us outside at the table outside the fence (so on the sidewalk alone) they switched out waitress about three times. first i have to ding a star because i asked for no onions to be put in my scrambler and i received lots of onions in my scrambler. our waitress took the order correctly but the cooking staff just did their own thing. i picked out some and pushed them to the side. my crescent city scrambler was very flavorful inspite of the included unwanted onions. the regular grits were flavorful as well. our waitress was very nice, very apologetic and very available. she was the best waitress i have had to date there. it was 60 degrees outside and it felt like 50 degrees in the dining area. ridiculously cold, ridiculously. read more

The beignet biscuits were to die for! Make sure to use the orange honey that comes with them! I had the lobster & Brie omelet...SO much lobster...it was amazing! My husband had the Belgian waffle...crispy, light & fluffy. All of it was delicious! We found this restaurant on Yelp on our way back home to the Midwest from our Honeymoon cruise. When we arrived, we were informed that it would be over an hour as they only had 4 tables that would seat large parties. We only had 6 in our group. Visiting Shreveport and wish I could bring this cafe home with me. We used the digital check in, were seated within minutes and had the most delicious brunch. I loved the lobster omelette, and my husband devoured his crab cake Benedict (the sausage really makes this dish). Since it's my birthday, i splurged a bit with the lemon blueberry goat cheese pancakes, and I would do that again. I don't like anything overly sweet, and these weren't.
