We thought this was going to be a little mom & pop type place but when we arrived we were surprised by the modern but quaint look of the place. The food was excellent and arrived quickly, despite the joint being mobbed with customers. The mugs for coffee & hot chocolate are different but give it that homey kind of feeling (like visiting a bed & breakfast in a small town or village). Had a very bad experience at this restaurant. When we arrived around noon, they were not busy at all. No one spoke or greeted us and waiters and hostesses were all at front laughing and talking. After we finally got someone to acknowledge us, they had to clean a table that took another 15 minutes. The waiter was great and took our order and then it was 40 minutes before our food came out. The food on all 5 plates wAs ice cold. Not even warm. We did not send back, because it would have been another hour and we didn't have time. Food was very expensive for quality. I used to love going for a girls' brunch @ Another Broken Egg. The last couple times I've gone, I thought "this isn't as good". However my family and I went the other day and I finally made the decision to never request to go again. Yes I'll go if someone else loves it and insists we go, but it won't be my choice. It's still a decent meal- the biscuit beignets are great! I also enjoy the shrimp and grits. However, that meal is one of my problems. I used to order it and the bowl was filled. My most recent visit, it was about 2/3 full. I've never had that before. My kids enjoyed their pancakes (regular and chocolate chip) so I was happy about that. My husband had the cinnamon roll French toast, he only ate about half. It was very soggy. Maybe that had something to do with having to wait forever for a replacement fork since his was dirty (among other dirty things that were on our table). Our server was nice enough, so that's something. There were several other issues that aren't worth detailing and normally they'd be ignored, but added to the above listed, a very disappointing family breakfast. I wish I could say this was a one time bad day, but the portion size and food quality are declining. Since this food isn't cheap, I think that's unacceptable. read more

Our first visit was Sat (12/26) & we enjoyed our visit, with the exceptions of the wait & sausage. Sausage tasted freshly ground but with heavy oregano or something, just too strong overpowered the palate. The Cinnamon Beignet were good but seemed a little over cooked. The Cinnamon French toast was good but small portion, Mediterranean potatoes were good & very rich. Can't quite remember my son's choice but it was a crab cake breakfast concoction he enjoyed it but said it was an acquired taste. This was my first visit. The restaurant was very nice; busy but clean and inviting. The staff was friendly and helpful, service was prompt. I started with the biscuit beignets which came out piping hot with a nice honey marmalade. For the main dish, I ordered the Bacquezo omelet which is an egg omelet stuffed with bacon and cream cheese and topped with chorizo, mozzarella, and green onions. The omelet was over cooked and I expected an omelet named Bacquezo to feature bacon but that seemed to be the least prominent ingredient. I give high marks to the ambience and waitstaff but the food was only mediocre. I've had better at IHOP. At these prices I'm not sure if I'll return. read more

My son and i went there today at i believe around noon. We like breakfasts and yelp steered us here. We are 2 men that are at the lower economics spectrum. When we went to this restaraunt our gps didn't say turn here or we was talking and didn't hear it. So the gps took us down these side streets to get back to the place. We should have known when we saw the big drs. Houses in the neighborhoods that this might be a little expensive to eat here. Yelp has it at 2 dollar signs. When we got there the front of the building was clean. My son was smoking. There was no ash trays outside. So he stepped on it. As we walked in we saw coffee mugs for ssle. Guess how much. 18 dollars a mug. We were seated by a pleasent southern girl. We ordered coffee. We looked at the menu. I said lets leave. My son said no dad we have to stay now. So we ordered. He had an ommelette with crustasions. Shrimp i think it was. I had 2 turkey sausages a skinny ommelette eith goat cheese in it. Since this was our first time they gave us a mason jar and these bisquits that had white powder sugar and a honey dip free. My omelette came with potatoes or i think i substituted the fruit for potatoes. My son also had a waffle. I had a bisquit instead of english muffin. The omelette was good. I liked the goat cheese. It wasn't too salty. The potatoes were very salty to my taste. I don't know why restaraunts salt their foods so much. Another thing i didn't like is the omelette was in a hot plate. Then they put the hot plate on on a dish holding and touching the potatoes. Who held that hot plate before it touched my potatoes? I liked that the wait staff had on uniforms. The waiteress is one of the first things you see when you come in. If they have old blue jeans on and a sweat shirt you might think what a dive. One thing this restaraunt should do if they are going to charge higher prices is redo threir floors. All the paint was worn off the floor. Paint the thing or put tile down. I've noticed a more then a few restaraunts in bossier and shrevport need repainting on their floors. I would go back there if i had more money. If you can afford it go. I forgot to mention. I got the bisquit instead of the engish muffin. I wanted some gravy. I don't eat pork. The only gravey was pork sausage gravey. Maybe they could make up some non pork gravey. They had turkey sausage. Why not make up a smaller batch of turkey sausage gravey for maybe musims,jews, and seventh day adventists who want done bisquits and gravey? Or vegetarian type gravey? Gee i keep editing this thing. Guess how much this was for the 2 of us. 45 big ones. Lol. Plus a 5 dollar tip. 50 big ones. We can't eat at restaraunts next week. Lol. Blew it all today. Lol you can see i am a chepo. read more

This is the second time we have eaten here. It is truly amazing food and drink. Probably one of the best service I've ever had. The people are SO welcoming! Had the Crab Cake Benedict. It was fresh and delicious! I am EXTREMELY picky about grits and I can honestly say that these are the best. They had new coffee today and it was Kenya. Biscuit beignets are soooo yummy! Our first time here- Misty was our waitress and she was super friendly! She informed us about the Nowait app so we didn't have to worry about waiting at the actual Restaurant then next time we came. Our 2nd visit- Kristen was our waitress. Horrible place. All of the food taste the same. No variations of spices. Been waiting over an hour for a supposed 45 min wait. Watched people who arrived 30 mins after us, be seated before us who did not use an app to check in. I watched two black men (who were here a half an hour before us) be seated long after we were seated. I also watched other parties of two (all white people) be seated before them. I'm not the biggest fan. It's good but for the price I'd rather eat at Denny's or Ihop. My husband ordered the mixed berry Pancakes. They came undercooked and only had strawberries on them. I had the crab cake Benedict and it was good but I took a chance not being the biggest fan of crab. I gambled and I wish I would've ordered regular eggs Benedict. That's my fault though. It's pretty expensive to eat there and we've been there three or four times and I've never had my socks blown off by any of their food. Went here on my birthday ordered the city grits which was delicious I shared with my husband, however I was full after the grits. I asked if I could cancel my French Toast order. The waitress and Manger refused to cancel my order. She said it was almost done and all she could do was put it in a box to go. I explained that it was my bithday and the Manger said we so not comp food unless it is not cooked well. In my opinion I'm sure someone in the busy establishment ordered the same thing and they could have switched it over. Its not like the food had come out. And it still took like 20 minutes after I requested to cancel for the food to come out. The manager was not rude but did not provide the customer service that the appearance suggest. read more

This used to be one of the gems in Shreveport. Today, I experienced many mistakes in food service. Upon arriving on our table, my server did not ask the adults on what we would like to order for drinks. He gave the water instantly to all of us as if we already ordered it and asked what the child wants to drink only. Our server also got a little bit ill mannered upon knowing that we would like to get drinks after we gave our food order (since we were never asked in the first place). When our food arrived, our food order was messed up (eg grits was not given, wheat bread was not substituted and the fresh fruit that was already part of the order was not even given). Surprisingly, after telling the server about these needed items, he never bothered to give it. When the supervisor/manager went around asking if we needed anything, she never even came back to give the item. It is very disturbingly disappointing that such a once beautiful and great of a service restaurant is slowly degrading its food service status. If you want to visit a nice breakfast place in Shreveport-- if you're only about the nice ambiance and pleasing-to-the-eyes-place to look at and if youre all about waiting for many minutes to get seated and to have your food-- this is certainly the place to be (but do not expect any good service). I hope they will be open to changes and improvements. read more
