10/10 dinner experience. We can't wait to try brunch. I don't even like seafood and I enjoyed myself. Service and ambiance were top notch

The small plate menu and craft cocktails were as interesting as they were tasty. Definitely recommend.

I mean, as good as advertised. Holy cow. One of our best meals in two trips to Michigan (Saugatuck…read moreand South Haven). All reservations were booked out for weeks when we had checked, but we showed up at opening and it sort of worked out. Let me explain.. A lot of other families had the same idea. Show up early, get in, get the kids fed early. It made for a line to check in at the host stand that looked concerning but it wasn't a crazy wait, ultimately. About 30 minutes. We still got what we wanted, a nice seat overlooking the water. One thing I'll say in that regard was there was a HUGE upfront rush, but then around 6:30 or so, the place had emptied out quite a bit. Might be useful knowledge if trying to time an entry here. ANYWAYS. The food. Phenomenal. So good. I stuck with standard fried chicken (ie not Nashville, not spicy) and it was amazing. Salty, well brined, flavorful. It even held up amazingly well cold out of the fridge the next day. Some of the best fried chicken I've had in years. The fries were insanely good as well. The greens (one of the side choices) were not my thing as they didn't have a lot of flavor. The only miss of the evening. My oldest enjoyed her burger, and my youngest thought the chicken was too spicy (read: peppery) but they've been uber picky lately so take that with a grain of salt (or pepper). Had a lovely cocktail here as well, called the Sunday Christian: Gin, Cocchi Americano, Bianco Vermouth, and orange bitters. I'm realizing I have failed you all but forgetting to mention the most glorious, buttery, flaky biscuit that comes with the fried chicken meal. It was a star of the show, and the only reason I'm just now mentioning it is that I ate it so quickly it disappeared into my memories. Wonderful place, and I'm sure we will go back next time in Saugatuck.

Judy's walls are covered with family photos. Wow what a neat look. Nothing fancy, just a bunch of family photos. Seems like something my mom would do. I also think this says something about Judy's. I love it. The food was amazing. That's all I can say. Good food.

Not knowing the area, we asked Siri if there were any good breakfast places nearby. Judy's was at the top of the list, and we were a block down the street. I drove up, saw the front parking spot open, and took it as a good sign. So glad! THIS is an American diner! The decor could be called "kitschy," but it really feels like I just walked into someone's grandma's house, in the best way. Family photos (probably friends, too) are everywhere. The warmth. As for the food, I'm running out of room. I'll just say that I ordered the mini & couldn't quite finish it (yes the bacon is fantastic, btw). Then I saw a guy getting a burger delivered at 8:30ish, and darned if I didn't wish I'd ordered a burger for breakfast! Hats off to that guy, and that burger! Now. The service. See, when everyone who enters the door is treated like they're already friends and could be family, it's hard to find anything better than that. Four people were circulating in the dining room and every one of them stopped to ask us questions about our day, our food...you know: conversation. These folks are so grand.

Service was awsome. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars was the dust on the steel girders and heating and cooling ducts. It was not awful but it was still noticable. However, the reviews were good so we ventured in... and I'm glad we did as the inside is extremely inviting and the food was great! First of all - there's a kid's waiting area with snacks!! What an amazing idea! We sat quickly and ordered. I had the salmon entree - which was not the prettiest looking plate but wow, was it good! Cooked well and the vegetables that were steamed on the side were perfectly cooked also. Burgers looked good and everyone ate swiftly so I assume everyone's meals were delicious. Service was friendly and swift (but didn't rush us) and this spot even had clean bathrooms (which is a huge plus for a restaurant). Price is reasonable especially for the portion sizes. So, ignore the location and the look of the outside (they also have speakers playing horse sounds outside...) and head in for a delicious and friendly meal.

A complete hit for our family, and my kids favorite spot during a long week plus trip. Nice to have…read moresome good family options in downtown Saugatuck. I feel like after a busy beach day in the sun, working up an appetite, this was ideal. It's darker in here but not in a bad way, just "out of the pure sunshine" kind of way. Service was nice and we were delighted to get right in. My kids were so hungry after defying us and not eating for what felt like days. That came to a halt here. My oldest got the grown up sized burger, and my youngest chicken tenders. We didn't hear a peep out of them for about 15 minutes, which is always nice. I can't say the food is earth shatteringly good or anything, but we all enjoyed it. It feels like a place where a little nostalgia plus the shine of vacation elevates it to me. Oh and beer prices were very fair too. The little animal crackers they brought out at the end were a hit as well. All in all, a classic, fun, friendly kind of spot that we very much enjoyed.

Walking in we were immediately redirected because we didn't notice the please wait to be seated sign that was outside of the door. It would be nice if the sign had been a little more visible or if we had been redirected more kindly. We were sat immediately and even though I tend to hate high tops, the chairs were sturdy and comfortable. Between myself and my friends we ordered the grilled ham and cheese, the nutty salad, and the burger (with cheddar, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, mayo, ketchup, and mustard). We all loved our food and it came out quickly. I ordered my burger medium-well and it was cooked perfectly. Our server was attentive and made sure to refill our water frequently. At the end of our meal they gave us little cups of animal crackers, which was just the cutest touch! Overall loved and would totally return and recommend.
