We go to this restaurant for all of our family birthdays or other get-togethers. The food is always good. I've had pizza, calzone, wraps, fish and a variety of sandwiches. You get plenty of food and will probably take home a doggy bag. read more

AJ's is a solid pizza place. They have the best deals on their coupons for takeout and delivery. When they're on their game, the pizza is great and the wings are absolutely amazing! If you're very specific on what you'd like when ordering, you get exactly what you asked for. Admittedly, it can be less than great some occasions. Sometimes the pizza is too saucy and there isn't enough rub on the wings. But, it's pretty inconsistent. It's worth a couple of tries, because when it's good, it's great! read more

We went here for the first time and just ordered off the lunch special menu. They give several selections for 8.99. I had soup and salad. The salad was mostly ice berg lettuce with a few toppings and the wedding soup was just alright. My son had the 4 cut pizza. He enjoyed it. I have been dining here since 1998. I have never, ever had a bad meal. The portions are quite large, and the staff is extremely friendly and always on the ball. They do offer specials, but my only "beef" is that the menu, itself, has not changed much, if at all, since my first visit, but one might say - if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The pizzas are very good, and the calzones are HUGE! The wedding soup is like my Nana used to make, when I was a kid. It tends to be crowded on weekends, I think due to the fact that they often have live entertainment during the evening hours. I always love going to Anthony Jr.s to eat in. There is just something warm and comforting about it. The servers are always so sweet and down to earth and do a great job. It's also one of the few non-bar restaurants that you can also have a drink. Portion sizes on the dinners and calzones are comically large so we usually leave with lunch for the next day. Anthony jrs is also one of our "go-to's" when we order pizza. waited 30 minutes for 2 sandwiches with fry's. table next to us came in after us and got their food before us. owner must be trying to save money because no pickles came with either sandwich. how cheap! Don't order the "homemade" cookie....it is NOT homemade and came wrapped in plastic wrap.... how tacky! We waited and waited and waited for our check. This was the worst experience I've had there. Although it was a busy Friday there was a couple that was there way before my husband and I and we got our food first. I mentioned this to my waitress and a little bit later their food came. My waitress was not their waitress. As I left I asked to speak with the manager and he would not come out to speak with me, which I found out was Anthony the owner. The couple was too afraid to say anything so I took it upon myself to do so. The manager or hostess would not do or say anything about it just that they were busy. Plus I overheard the waitress tell them that it takes longer for the fish. NO she forgot their order and would not own up to her mistake. The other waitress was very rude as well and would not help. I told the couple to complain but I doubt if they did. Horrible service especially from an owner that should try to be accommodating to his customers. Ate at Anthony Jr's tonite for a late dinner. Waitress sucked. Waited 10mins for drinks (water n beer) ordered wedding soup n cheesy bread sticks. Soup was ok, "cheesy bread sticks" was a "pizza without sauce"..greasy bottom crust. When we were done eating we sat for 15mins, then had to go to cash register to pay. Just getting back from Colorado and having a terrible pizza experience, my family ordered 2 of Anthony's specials and as ALWAYS, it's perfect. Crispy crust on an 18inch pizza, one topping only $1.80, 10 huge juicy chicken tenders for $9.99, nothing greasy (like the terrible Anthony's in Denver. I manage to get here about once a month. Would go more if it was closer to me. Very casual atmosphere. Friendly service. Great pizza and wings. haven't tried the other pasta dishes. My family and I have eaten here many times and been happy with the food and service. The fish fry is what we normally get. Lately because of our littlest one we get the 8 piece Sicilian pizza. Our latest order was a catastrophe!!! The pizza had hardly any cheese on it. It ended up being a hunk of bread with sauce. We did not order light cheese either!! When calling the restaurant I was told by the cook the are only allowed to put 4oz of cheese on per owner. I informed how that was hardly even what I received and still not enough. I then asked to speak to owner of business in which I was told the same thing. That they are weighing and rationing their cheese. If this is the case and then owner is trying to cut cost.......your food should NOT be where you do it!! I will never be ordering pizza or food from this establishment again!!!! Where else are they being cheap is my question!!!?? If you are going to lower standards then you will be losing customers. No more no less!! Do not eat at this establishment!!! read more

Ordered delivery while traveling through on business. Salad was basically lettuce with 6 pieces of pepperoni for $8; wings were cold and not flavorful. No silverware or napkins. I have ordered pizza for the past couple of years from here because it is my Grandson's favorite pizza. So again this year, I call on Saturday for pizza on Sunday. They didn't have delivery before so when I found out they had delivery, I thought it was great. Then I found out that they would not deliver to the area I wanted. Still okay because I have always picked it up before. I asked if there was any specials because I was having a large order. They had a reasonable special, but nothing to write home about. If I got the special, I had to pay cash to get it. Again, still no problem. The total was $110 something. The pizza is a little more expensive than some pizza places. I ordered nine pizzas. I told them I wanted them for Sunday at 4:30pm. I called them on Sunday at 3:30 because my family wanted to add wings to the order. The price on my phone said that 60 wings were $27.99. I thought that was really good. I asked how many flavors I could get and they told me just one. I said could I get two if I order 30 and 30 and they said yes. Instead of $27.99, they charged 39.99. I arrived at 4:30 and paid $155.00 in cash. They told me it would be a minute and I thought that's okay, they just want it to be hot. I sat and waited over 20 minutes and when I questioned them they told me they were working on the last couple of pizzas and said someone hadn't changed the clock for daylight savings time. It was 5pm not 5 am. by now you know what time it is, especially if you have a business with orders taken for specific times. The server literally came out and left everything on the table and walked away. No I'm sorry or do you need some help or no offer to cut you a break because they were late. I told my Grandson to find another pizza place for next year. Will never go back again for the price the service or anything!!!!!! read more

It's been a running joke in my family that we just don't understand how Coraopolis supports so many pizza joints. Some of them come and go rather quickly but Anthony Jr's has been here for as long as I can remember. There are better places to get pizza (I prefer Nicco's which is not far from Anthony's) but AJ's is a nice place to sit down with the family for a pizza or pasta dinner. Recently I've noticed the portions are getting smaller and the prices are going up. I wouldn't recommend the salads as they are heavy on the iceburg lettuce and not heavy on much else. You can get a better salad at McDonald's at this point. The breadsticks are good. The stuffed peppers are GREAT. The pizza is a bit crusty for my taste (I prefer thin crusts) but otherwise good. They have a nice variety of toppings that can be added and always have a ,monthly special, usually some combination of pizza/sandwiches/wings which can sometimes be a real steal. All in all, if you live in the area, there are better places to make your regular pizza place, if you are just visiting and need a quick bite, Anthony Jr's will do. read more
